{Theme} {EL29} Blue Glass - The Phone Candy Remix 2.8.2! 01-08-2012 - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Ok guys, here is Blue Glass - The Phone Candy Remix version 2.8.2! I hope you enjoy! =) I have put several hours of work into this and i am more than satisfied with the results. First off, I'd like to give thanks to jstine671, dully79, and esk0droid as all of the icons and images you see in my theme come from their themes. I used their pre-exsisting works of art in order to bring this work of art to our Galaxy S II =)
This is a very extensive theme and includes Blue Overscroll, glass lockscreen, fully skinned SystemUI, Transparent pull down menu, and many many other mods. Here are some screenshots, flash it and let me know what you think.
Here is Blue Glass - The Phone Candy Remix v2.8.2
Enjoy and let me know what you guys think
(screen shots need updating as there have been several changes)
Changelog:
V1.5 10/10/11
There several changes in V1.5. I completely redid everything and skinned a few more icons.
The following apps are skinned in V1.5
Contacts.apk
TW30Launcher.apk
TouchWizCalculator.apk
TouchWizCalendar.apk
Framework-res.apk
Twframework-res.apk
AccountAnsSyncSettings.apk
GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
Mms.apk
SystemUI.apk
VERSION 2.0 PHONE CANDY REMIX 10/13/2011
I have changed alot of icons in this version and skinned even more apps and widgets. The theme is running fine with no force closes or other ill effects. Tested on Starburst ROM v1.5.

Well it may take some work but seems like it would be waiter than creating a theme from scratch since most of the images are already done for us
Well I am about to make a cwm backup and try theme porter or injector or something and see what I can come up with. I know it won't completely get it done though

Bumpity bump. Anyone care to help out on this?

Hey guys, I got this thing pretty much ported and it is looking amazing. Still a few things that need skinning but im working on it. Anyone care to test it and give input, suggestions, help? Ive been running the theme since last night with no issues so I guess I will go ahead and post it. This seems to be the most extensive theme for our devices so far...

Excellent! It looks great! I am very impressed! Welcome to the world of themers!!

Isnt jstine a female? Coulda swore that was the case. Either way sweet theme.
Tapatalkin' it from my Epic Touch 3g

Screenshots don't do this theme justice! I just flashed it and it looks 10x better on our screens than it does in these pics, posted in the OP. The creator of the theme had some themes on the OG Epic 4G and I don't remember ever trying them out but Im glad I gave this one a shot cause it looks awesome! Great job at porting it over!

The grey text on the transparent background is a little tough to read on the menus sometimes. But. Other than that it looks like it's coming along nicely so far. Great work

Yes I am aware of this. I have to figure out how to make the transparent backgrounds match the home wallpaper.
Well guys, I'm glad you like it so far and I will post an update later. I finally got the data, signal and 4g icons fixed.
Likey?

It just keeps getting better and better

The last time I looked, I don't think so.
JStine671 AKA Timberwolf671 for the folks at PPCGeeks and MikMik websites.
You are doing a great job and adding your own touch to it. It's not just a port, you are adding your own personal touch and that's great.
BTW: the green progress for volume and some other things is not an image so you stop looking for the png. It's an xml in the framework.apk, so hit me up when you are ready to make the jump to decompile apk's.
Keep up the great work and thanks for the link and credit.

Thanks guys! Im still working on it, but i like how it is turning out so far. Version 1.1 is now available in the first post Looks even better now that I have the 3G, 1X, 4G, and voice signal icons skinned properly now.
lol @ TW, i was wondering when you would chime in. Im glad you like it so far, it still has nothing on your evo theme though! Ive read a little about xml edits in themes and I will read some more. Then im sure I will have several questions to ask you lol. Im confident that I will get the hang of xml edits pretty fast though. Ive done a couple back in the WM days.

OP is updated with v1.1 now. yes crt off is included and what is overscroll? I plan on working on the quick panel next. Anyone have any icons in mind for the quick panel? The green has got to go! lol

overscroll is when you cant scroll anymore you see a glow indicating you cant go anymore.. another thing. the gray words on the white menu is kind of hard to see anyway to make the words darker?

Theme Port Request...BlackFroyo!

Hey, I was just wondering if some of you more experienced bros could help me out, I was trying to port over an old Vibrant theme, Black Froyo (by Samcrow) which was, is, and always will be my favorite. I Changed some icons, and added a little color, but for some reason it is giving me forced closes when ever I try to enter the settings menu.Just wondering if someone could pleeeaaase port this theme over for me, with some added cyanogen mod blue color icon mods. I will send a donation as a thanks. Below I will post the original Blackfroyo for Vibrant link, however the pics are down, so I will also be posting a link for a Black froyo theme fort for the Epic 4G with pics, so you can get an idea of what it looks like if you havent already seen it. a huge thanks to SamCrow for such a great theme. I kept the Vibrant for a long time, just because of this theme. Thank You.

[Q] Can anyone help me how to theme?

I searched already for how to theme and I got bajillion answers and read through them.
I downloaded all the tools I need to theme, I guess?
I want to start contributing something to the community because I havent done anything but write comments.
so if anyone is kind enough to PM or Instant message me to guide me through "how to theme" sense roms(sense 3.5), that would be great!
I got the tools from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916814

Can't really theme 3.5 yet as the m10files can't be decompiled right at the moment. Themeing the rest is just a matter of following the guide and alot of trial and error

thanks for the answer zelendel~
hope the m10files gets decompiled soon~
Sense 3.5 was a pain at first to figure out how to theme but thru trial and error you will figure it out. I use this tool here:http://apkmultitool.com/ I love it also I swear by notepad++ with the compare plugin. this tool helped me learn alot about xml edits. you can for instance decompile a themed systemui.apk and your stock systemui.apk and use the compare plugin to see exactly what changes were made to each xml. to make different mods work feel free to download our theme here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297860
and open the different apks and look at them and compare to the stock files assuming your using rcmix runny. DUDE360 and he_stheone64 are both great themers who have helped me along the way

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1237528 this thread has helped me out alot. even tho its a sense 3.0 thread alot of the info in the thread will help out alot.
hope some of this will help you out to get in to the world of theming. it's pretty rewarding in the end

Thus works for most of it but sense its self can't be touched as the main AOL Rosie.apk is in m10 files. The way you discribed work on most roms.

I beg to differ. Rosie or fusion might not be able to be themed because of m10 tools but...there are other methods such as skins. There is a member who has successfully added sense 3.0 m10 files to sense 3.5 skins and they work pretty good. Not 100% but still can make some really cool mods happen on sense 3.5

OK but you still cant theme the 3.5 files yourself. As it seems you can swap some files out and get a mostly working theme. Looks like good progress, glad to see it.

yeah it is good progress. been watching diamondback's m10 thread for the tool update for a while. the new setup they got looks real good and don't think it will be to much longer before they update the tool. But still there are so many good threads scattered around xda to learn from. Anyone can theme If they just would just soak in some of this info in the forum and just try stuff till they figure it out. I started theming around august or september and it's crazy the ammount of stuff i've learned from just trying different things

When I switched from sense 3.0 to sense 3.5 I was trying to change the notification pulldown background to custom images and change text color. Everything finally worked after several hours of trial and error to figure the xmls out get compiled, push the mod. And wifi connection text is still black. 5uBz3r0 Theme Version 2.3 UPDATE FEB 24 2013
APK file just install and apply in theme chooser.
For the best result I use APEX LAUNCHER! I have fully themed that where as some elements may not apply for you on a different stock launcher depending on your ROM.
Get the latest version here: 5UBZ3R0 Theme v2.3.apk
TABLET USERS: please note that for now there are some color issues with email on tablets. What should be black in some places is white. I had some issues with blacking out the email and I am working on an update to fix this, the email composes differently and I have to figure out the differences and adjust. Hopefully won't be long.
5uBz3r0 Apps and Media Pack Version 2.3 FLASHABLE ZIP This is a collection of Media like System UI sounds and Ringtones and notification sounds. This fills in parts that I can't adjust with theme chooser alone so it's almost necessary to install this for a great experience.

NOTES:
If you still have black text on sms app, goto settings and set "use black theme"!
Ignore the "Sorry, this theme is missing assets for your device's screen size." message, apply anyway!
If you get "improperly compiled" Error message, it is CM bug, not the Theme! It is caused when you have more than one Theme installed. Set to default system theme, reboot and then apply my theme.
Reboot after applying the Theme to take full effect!

APEX ICON THEMES NEW
This is something new I'm trying out. Extra Icon packs to tweak the theme in little ways. As of right now I only have one release but there will be many more to follow...
Fans of my old Digital Frost theme will love the first package, I give you Apex Digital Frost V1.0 DOWNLOAD HERE Just download and install and then go to theme setting under the apex menu and apply the 5ubZ3r0 IconPack. Finally I have something to give back to XDA, I give you my 5uBz3r0 Theme for Theme Chooser. It works on all Android versions below 4.2.1 and includes a flashable package containing blacked out apps, new UI sounds and a new tinted boot animation.
This theme took me months to get to a point where I was happy with it. It was a lot of trial and error to learn how these themes work, I am by no means an expert themer and honestly I don't really know what I'm doing, I learned all of this from XDA and decompiling other themes to figure out how they did things. There are so many themers that I need to thank for their awesome work that thought me everything I know. Honestly I would need a whole new thread just to list them all. This theme is by no means complete and may still contain some old images from the base I used, I am constantly trying to find the time to custom make all new images but it's a long process, so any old images you may notice will eventually be removed as I complete the theme.
Anyway I hope you enjoy this first version of my first theme chooser theme, I will be constantly working on it and updating it as I learn more and more about how this stuff works, so check back often for updates.

WOW!! Super glad all you lucky GSIII users are enjoying my theme, it's still a bit of a work in progress as I'm learning how to do this stuff but keep an eye on my OP in the Incredible S forum for updates, they will be coming fast and furious now that I'm finally starting to get the hang of theming I'll post a custom apps package here in a few mins without swype and music sleep as it seems to have issues on the GSIII.
update: for all you GSIII users here is a flashable apps/media pack for you with Swype and MusicSleep removed as they seemed to be giving FC's on the GSIII. SUBZ3R0_AppsMediaV2_GSIII.zip Hopefully this will work better for you. Enjoy!

I'm using this theme on SlimBean Rc1 and everything is absolutely brilliant I love the system ui sounds, Especially the screen unlock.
Everything fits perfectly together, I like the contact avatars, the spinners look great, and all in all, this is an amazing theme! The only problems I have found, are with the musicsleep app and swype, as both apps say they have stopped working when I try to open them, but this isn't a problem for me as I don't use them.
I am trying out an aokp rom today, and I will report how the theme works on that too... Thank you mate, I am sticking with this theme now, and I look forward to future updates

Love the look of the theme,
Its pretty much perfect,
Once i installed the Extra SubZero apps,
I was getting FC with Swype, couldnt use that, also the Music Sleep just FC when ever i tried to open it,
I removed the apps and all seems fine,
Will use this theme ..
Only thing thats not exactly too my liking is the default contact Pic, i dont know the android is just a little too large for my liking when in MMS i kinda cant stop looking at it ... I changed that and LOVE the theme ^_^
Great work mate, I will be coming to this thread often

- The hex code for the themes color is #FF22dbd6
- To enable DD battery instead of stock battery go into TSM PARTS and in statusbar settings change the battery from 4.4 bat to 4.3 image battery.
- When flashing any of my themes if your already currently running a Sick Made theme then there is no need to wipe or flash on a clean install of the rom... just simply flash the theme! This only applies to themes that are on the same build of course.

OK just got back home... I will have screens and download link posted within 15 mins or so... my bad bout the delay
OK theme link posted... I am gonna post some information about the theme under post #2 like the hex color... and stuff to change in Tweaked Rom TSM Parts for instance change battery to 4.3 to get the themed DD battery. I hope everyone enjoys! Will be more than likely my last theme for the Note 3 for I am gonna be switching to the Note Edge here shortly... But who knows maybe drop something here and there?

Yeah... pretty much!! This theme is ridiculously sick... Dude, I'm trading my N3 to JUMP to an N4 tomorrow, and I'm still gonna dirty flash Tweaked with this theme to rock it until I re-stockify everything. A great "goodbye gift" for my current (hopefully prior as of tomorrow...) favorite phone I've ever owned. I'm just trying to wrap my mind around the hotness of those screens... not happening! Amazing work man!!

Your talking about main dialer bg? If so it's transparent but just a tad because I think it looked better more black and not as transparent as the framework bg is all.. but if there's people that would like to see it have more transparency I can whip it up

Yes I flashed 75%Trans mod.
[/COLOR]Hey SICKMADE - this theme is continually blowing my mind! Having flashed it pretty soon after it was posted, I still regularly notice small elements you've altered that make me pause and appreciate the level of detail in this theme! Also re: appreciation, thanks so much for sharing the color code in one of the OPs. I'm really big on "UI consistency", and the likelihood that I'd have been able to perfectly match that killer blue for a few elements is super low; it just looks so much better overall being able to get an exact match for a netspeed meter that I've got on the far left of the statusbar and particularly on some UCCW widgets I've made.
A couple questions: would flashing the VOLTE icon that @foreverloco made (the one that replaces the red & green arrows with just text, HD Voice be expected to cause any problems? I normally just do that after flashing any theme, but I read your OP as being pretty adamant about not "mixing" ILL with anything from other themes, so I just wanted to check if flashing something minor like that HD Voice .zip on top of your theme would have any horrific consequences, ya know, like altering all the #FF22dbd6 to #FF22dbd7... HELL NO!!
Second question: have you come across in fonts in @cbucz24's massive pack that can be installed with Tweaked that "compliment" this theme well? I've been going through them, and have some contenders.... I'm thinking that something similar but not quite as bold as the keyboard font would work well. My "go to" fav in that pack is Ultima Mod, but it doesn't really "fit" with ILL at all. Just wondering if there are any that you would you would recommend I check out?
Thanks again man, this is the first theme of yours that I've run and I'm super impressed :good:

Good lookin brother I appreciate the kind words.... cause of people like you is why I decided to start sharing my work in the first place... as far as foreverlocos data themed icon zip as long as it doesnt flash like say the whole systemui which I doubt it would but I dont even really know where exactly that icon is at I havent looked but I would assume its just a vrtheme in that case it wont hurt at all... about a certain font I personally always use SonySketch.. I been using that font for what seems like forever now. Everytime I try something new I always go back to Sony Sketch. Try it out if you havent before it looks really good!

Thanks buddy! I do recall that HD Voice zip definitely is a vrtheme, so that should be straight. It's about time for a fresh nandroid anyway, so I'll be good either way. Man, your theme played a big role in my decision to bail on my "solid, locked-down" plan to trade my Note 3 for a regular 4"... that was the very same day I learned about the super-impressive group of devs who had already upgraded / decided to go with the Edge... a day or two before @dwitherell made his 'official' announcement! I can't even tell ya how happy I am to have ended up holding on to my super-ILL Tweaked Out N3 for the time being! I really avoided some major regret there and my enjoyment of ILL was a major factor in my decision to bail on the N4 at the time... huge thanks bro!

Nice bro! I've been rocking your OG TWRP theme since flashing Black Eclipse, but I'm not really huge on red so this chrome look is more my style I did change to Red Eclipse Final, thinking I might want to mix in some of the B&W apks, but I actually like it; it's fairly subtle and looks cool in the settings menu etc. :good:
Hey I don't suppose you ever figured out what was causing the wallpaper or black screen to come up behind the volume panel with your themes? I tried a few minor things myself but nothing successful.
Thanks again for some more of your fine work buddy, I wish I didn't already make a fresh nandroid today (before flashing a couple of the TBO apps)! I want to boot into recovery to check out the theme, but really have no reason to atm

I apreciate it brother... and about the volume screen thing yes I did actually find the problem... it's due to the transperancy framework bg I moded. I have to go back into framework and change one of the true to false when it asks to show wallpaper. I just haven't found the time to attempt to fix it yet. But I'll try and find some time tonight and take a look at it. But if you wanted to try this chrome TWRP theme out all you need to do it just go into the theme folder which is in your TWRP folder and rename the red theme to ui.zip_bak and then copy and paste the chrome theme in there and reboot. Then if you don't like it all you need to do it go back into the TWRP folder and theme folder and delete the chrome ui.zip theme and rename the ui.zip_bak to just ui.zip and it will be red again. But make sure and check back because I'm working on a couple more theme now that I will hopefully have done tonight.

@SICKMADE - Oh I already did... I figured that the giving the ol' dalvik and cache couldn't hurt. Ok... I had already wiped it a few times making that nandroid and flashing some dope blacked out / cleard out stock apps. Alright, guess I'm busted I just wanted to check out the theme (which is awesome) and then become SICK MADE again, because I felt like it had worn off a bit from earlier
That's awesome to hear that you found out what's up with the volume panel! I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know what you need to mod in framework. Sounds like the fix is fairly simple once you find what you need to mod. I'll take a look also... but if I come across something that looks like it might be it, I'd send you a PM before trying anything to see if I was on the right track...
It's kind of funny that you said that your next theme would be blue, as that was my first thought. Actually, I got a pretty distinct mental image so I'll describe it. Don't take this as a "request" necessarily, but just a color scheme that I think would look super dope, and knowing your taste somewhat
Ok, the background is dark grey... not solid, but sort of with a "woven" effect, sort of a denim fabric style. I'm also seeing just some light texture, with some sporadic shadows. As for the text / highlights, that Tiffany blue that you sometimes use would look incredible!
I'm quite content with the charcoal theme, so no need to "go out of your way" to make it, but if you think that would look as hot as I do... well whip that one up Great stuff as always my man!

I like the way your going with the new blue theme... if you find some time why don't you look for some cool pattern bgs and some gradients that you like. I was thinking the same thing tho for the framework bg I'm not gonna go just all back for the next theme... I'm gonna go like a darker grey. Also I was really wanting to go with that Tiffany blue so I'm glad you said that . Seems like a lot of people seemed to like it. It's better than that ICS Blue that you always see around. I'm so sick of seeing that! But if you find some time and don't mind helping me out that'd be awesome.
Decided I would release my personal TWRP theme that I use.... It came out so sick I was gonna just keep it to myself! Lol. I hope some people out there enjoy it!

I knew I'd have several in my Wallpapers folder... I was correct I usually have my images ordered descending from last time modified so the most recent are the latest official DynamicKat wallpapers, DLed from the Rom Mart app. There are 2 (out of 3 so far... about 150 total :laugh where I was like, "That one, perfect," HAHA! I'll try to narrow it down to top 5. What's your preference? Crop the grey and attach that? Attach the full images, scaled? Or send (email?) you the full res pics? Happy to help! :good:
Edit: I found a few more nice ones, but my overall favs are these couresy of DynamicKat. The grey textures aren't exactly what I pictured, but I can see it with any of them... I'll post more if I come across anything more like what I imagined. What do you think about the textures on these / have a preference?
Does this work on the galaxy s4 as well? Wasn't sure if since it's twrp if it's universal.
Anybody else having graphical issues with the confirm "sliding" bar on TWRP 2.8.6.0 when using one of these themes? It shows up super odd, and is thusly unusable. Flashing back to 2.8.5.0 works fine with all the themes. I can't take a screeny, hence it is in recovery mode, and unfortunately I do not have another camera to snap a photo with on me at the moment, either. I have the trltetmo. If anybody else would like to try this and see if/confirm they have the same issue (or not), that would be much appreciated. I would love to use SickMade's TWRP theme(s) on the newest version -- all of them are just ill! A heads up: if you try this and run into the same problem I have, the only way to get it back working again is to flash the TWRP 2.8.5.0 .img via Flashify or ODIN the .tar. Just a FYI. Thanks for any and all help, in advance!

I'm not one to *****, usually, but I just want everyone to know I appreciate the replies I've received regarding my issue, two posts above, over a WEEK AGO now. XDA is a place to learn, provide assistance, and receive assistance. The lack of even the slightest reply such as a meager "I'm not sure what to tell you..." simply is enough to speak volumes of how people just truly do not give a rats ass. I'm always one to assist. So it naturally ticks me off when a simple question goes completely ignored for over an entire week. That's all I've got. If anybody wants to "pick a bone" let's take it to PM. Because if anyone is that ignorant to somehow have any "bones to pick" based on my detailed and rightfully-placed agitation, then that would simply show more balls than brains. This is just gross negligence to give even a basic reply up to this point, I feel. That's all. :RantOver:

I apalogize if your post didn't get answered.... I've had some family problems as of late and haven't been able to maintain my threads as much as usual up to this point. But I hope that you worked your issue out and if you still have any questions please feel free to post and I will reply with some answers no problem.
Thank you, @SICKMADE. You are a class act here on XDA. Never was I distinctively pointing any finger at you, please understand. Also, I am sorry to hear about your family, and whatever is going on, I hope and pray heals itself sooner rather than later. Anyway, no, I still cannot get your themes to display correctly on TWRP 2.8.6.0. The sliding/confirm bar is off-center and unusable and a few, more minor graphical glitches I cannot recall at the moment. TWRP 2.8.5.0 shows everything properly and works flawlessly with your goods. I would screenshot it, but don't believe there is a way within recovery...? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks again!

I really appreciate the kind words.... people like you are the only reason that I take the time to share my work in the first place. As for the issue that your having with using my theme on 2.8.6.0 I have not updated to that yet and so don't know of that problem. To take a screenshot all you have to do is press volume down and power at the same time. I will def look into the issue with the new recovery and fix it no prob. I usually never update TWRP once I get on one that is stable without any bugs unless there is a major update that is. Is the latest TWRP running good without any bugs? If so I will update the themes to be compatible.
Thus far, I have noticed no bugs with that version, in and of itself. If anyone else has anything to add, please do chime in.
Dude you freaking rock bro salute.
I followed all the steps on your method and it doesn't change anything on my end.
Keep up the sickwork
