Go in xperia android development on these forums
there you would have to look for a thread in which it will explain exactly how to
completely flash a new firmware.
Doing that should help you fix your problem, also you should try restoring your phone through PC companion software that comes with the phone you might lose all your data but atleast your phone will start working again.

i assume your not rooted? ok first thing you need to do is look in the android development section, READ the sticky on how to root, make sure you understand everything before trying, once rooted you can flash a custom recovery and custom rom, but take one step at a time, and make sure you understand each step before doing anything, or you are gunna end up with an expensive brick.
I was able to figure out the whole root thing its just the roms and radios and all that other crap

[Doubt] Updating Firmware with Root

Hello
I thank everyone who helped me make my Xperia Root, was difficult but with everyone's help I finally did, then, Thanks!
However I still remained a doubt, I think it's the last of them
My Xperia Arc and S used LT18i 4.0.2.a.0.62 Version (Without Root)
So I downloaded the version 4.0.2.a.0.42 and done using Root UnlockRoot, worked perfectly and now my phone is LT18i, With ROOT version 4.0.2.a.0.42
But I wish I could enjoy the latest version of Firmware (To keep my phone updated), it is possible to update it for newer versions and still keep the Root it? Or I would have to download the new firmware, unlock the bootloader and make the various processes Root?
If in case the answer is "Yes" it is possible to upgrade, what are the possible means? At PCC could update it without losing the Root?
Thank you!
Did you really need to start a new thread.

I looked this Topic, but not what I thought would be appropriate to update my firmware and still keep my Root
I'm kinda lost on that topic because I am not American, I am using the Google translation
Would you tell me what topic I should follow?
Sorry for the problems, but besides being Noob I do not know English
thank you

Well you understand and write English well enough.
Flashing via PCC or SEUS will wipe your Phone, so the best way is to use the flashtool to flash a ICS ROM then use the Root kit to root.
As I'm a bit lost, I'll do a different kind of question
If I download the Firmware 4.1.B.0.431, I am able to do it with Root SuperOne Click or UnlockRoot? Or it would be necessary as well as the various processes .62 ftf?
@Edit
Ready! I think now I finally got
But wanted to know if we do not have any problem doing that ...
1-I downloaded the .42 version and did ftf Root (I do not know if it was unlocked BootLoader)
2-I did the update to version .62 ftf by phone
3-Ready, the phone is working and is also active with the Super Admin (Root)
4-With this process I have some problem with the phone?

[Q] Need the 2.3.4 Gingerbread Verizon update

So I just got an Xperia Play that I won from a giveaway. Nice little phone. I already have a Galaxy S3, so I have no reason to use the Xperia Play as my phone. It does, however, make a nice wi-fi only game playing machine and media player.
It is on 2.3.2 still, which I assume is what the phone launched with. I just read that there was an update that brought it to 2.3.4, so I tried updating, but it won't check for updates without a cellular connection (have no idea why; seems kind of stupid). Is there any way to still get this update? Can I download it from somewhere online and put it on the microSD card on the phone or something?
Thanks in advance.

I am a noob, and therefore the only words I understood of your reply were "back up the things you wish to keep" (which I don't really need to do since I haven't downloaded much and I could just redownload the things that I have now).
You can search for flashtool on google and try installing it, although when i tried, it didn't work

There's a lot of guide in the stickies. U really should "embrace the xda noob spirit" & utilize the search box as much as u can instead of making a new redundant thread like this. Sory if my word somehow offended u but it needs to said. So sory.
And to giv u start go on to the x-play development thread, stickies & find a guide on "how-to" flash a f/w. There's also a guide at the general section too. So go get started.

Okay, I didn't know it was redundant, since I hadn't seen any other threads for it, and I was wondering if somebody had the firmware file and if I could just put it on the microSD card and install it. If I had known that you can't do that, the thread would not have been posted.

Deleting preinstalled apk

Dear All,
Please be patient with me.
I live in UAE and cant find professional developers like your here.
I have Xperia play R800i 2.3.4 xxx.62 kernal.
I just want to get rid from pre-installed games and apk.
I tried to root my phone using Sony web site steps with fastboot steps.
the application could not push the superuser to the phone "I got error copying superuser .. r-only file"
After that I found the I can read the root from my phone but I can not control the files.
I just need to root the phone without loosing PSX emulator of flashing new custom roms.:silly:
Is there easiest way?
I found software on net named oneclickroot (30$), is this one real or fake?
Please help me I'm new in rooting phones.
Thanks.

Rooting your phone is free don't by 30 dollar software its probably a trick. Just unlock your boot loader from Sony sight and flash a custom kernel that's rooted

Did you tried to root with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219711
You can always downgrade to .42 firmware and root it with zergrush.
It's easier to root it with custom kernel (unlocked bootloader), but you can do it even without unlocking your bootloader.
