No update notification yet? Force Mango on your device! - Windows Phone 7 General

Check out the manual posted on WPCentral. I did it myself, and can confirm that it works.

Yay for another duplicate thread...
BTW, I did it and my phone has been frozen for almost 30 minutes. Use at you own risk.

Just as always, sure. Worked great for me though.
And duplicate? Sorry, but I checked if there's another thread about this very topic and I didn't see any. My bad I didn't check every single thread about Mango if it contains a post about how to get the update without waiting.

Thanks! finally got my update that way

Come on, gang, you all can't be that impatient
The best thing to do is wait patiently and allow the system to do what it needs to do. If anyone doesn't get the update today or tomorrow, MS has said it can take up to 2 months for everyone to get it.
Be patient and don't screw up your phones.

If tricking zune allows you to update, then statistically there is no reason one person should get the mangos before anyone else. obviously there isn't a server issue if we can download it this way just fine... I'm sorry I've been waiting far too long. I didn't even do it for the post nodo update that 1.3 never got for what ever reason

Because that is mango.
If it is the RTM, forcing may not work to notice that.

7.1 isnt 7.5
do i need to downgrade in order to get the update?

T-Mobile HD7, performing forced update now. 7403 went through perfectly & still Dev. Unlocked. Now doing Mango...
NOTE: Took a couple tries to get the notification.

It's 7.10, not 7.1, and that is the actual version number. 7.5 is the marketing name for the release.

I've tried over 50 times and all I get is this error : Can't check for updates right now. Please try again later. 80072EFF

Guy, its 7.10.
not 7.1.
7.10.7720.68 is mango....
its code name is 7.5, its not literally...

Did you install the RTM? if so then you might not have the phone specific optimized or whatever release, but you do indeed have mango.

so anyone that already flashed the touchit mango rom has no need to bother with this official update, correct?

How long are you guys waiting before you pull the plug? When Im doing it, I'm pulling it immediately. If I don't zune tells me my phone is up to date within 3 seconds

I have no idea, but I doubt that. I was referring to the official update, which contains build 7.10.7720.68. If you are using a custom ROM, it may or may not contain all of the final Mango features.

Official Froyo [BETA Firmware, NO LONGER AVAILABLE ON KIES, MUST use ODIN]

Hey, Just wondering nobody mentioned it till now, but I just updated my SGS with Kies to FROYO!!!!
Version is:
I9000XXJPC
Benchmark and GPS-Test later.
MOD EDIT: FYI, this update is no longer available on Kies, the only way to flash it right now is with Odin (which is rather tricky and risky...not recommended for anyone not already familiar with the process!!!)
ALSO...Flashing without unlocking the phone FIRST can make it EXTREMELY difficult (if not impossible) to unlock afterwards!! Be sure to unlock it BEFORE flashing if you're going to need it unlocked in the long run!!
OMG you're serious???
Dammit I gotta try

I also got the update! used this reg file
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\1]
"SoftwareRevision"="I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3"

dont know if it is froyo but is is JPC, and downloading now
I smell a troll.

**Warning** The disconnect trick may not update drivers

If you use the disconnect trick to force NODO, then you won`t get device drivers for your phone
I`m on mango, but the IE9 speed reading page give me 4fps. No hardware accelleration.
Make sure you use the mobile speed read ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/mobile
Forced it got 50+ FPS
50? Im doing like 27, HD7 unbranded
What is the answer then? I should have left my focus on 7220, but I thought I'd have trouble getting the full Mango. Hepefully, some will figure it out...
PS, that link is broken. Where do we find this speed reader?

2250.21.40502.401

No, thats wrong.
For my Optimus 7 i got the "LG-Software Update" at the bottom of the page.
On the first step, to 4403, there was no "LG" in the Disclaimer.
The second update, to Mango, at the bottom of the page appears "LG-Software Update"
Please confirm

Yes It seems the htc update gets installed in the second step together with mango
@ FW revisions the last number is only carrier/location right? so we have 40501 40502 and in the main thread I spotted someone with 40503 oO
So is this true or not?

I have no idea. Can you install the app "Compass 7"? It requires a mango fw that supports the compass
I got 30 FPS on my Samsung Omnia 7.
Forced update in several steps from OS version 7004.
Firmware rev. 2424.11.8.5
After force mango update from Nodo my firmware is 2424.10.11.1 !!!
I'm getting 27-28 FPS on my Focus.
I noticed when everything updated that it prompted me for a Samsung update.

AT&T 8.1 Sideload, HDCalling

Hey everyone!
I sideloaded the 8.1 update from Google and I don't see HDCalling available for it. I'm a user on AT&T with an unlocked phone. Can anyone help with this? Was I not suppose to sideload it to get the feature?
Thank you!

AT&T customers have suppose to have access to HDCalling on 8.1.0 update.

Forgot to update on this. I only had to clear cache and restart after the 8.1 update for this to work. However, for those who don't have this option still, this means that AT&T doesn't have your pixel as your main device. Just call and switch it over by giving them you IMEI number, then restart your phone and it will work.
Cheers, and thanks!
Odd things could prevent this from operating. I wasn't getting it but found out it was because I had 'Smart Limits' turned on. They had to remove that, and you also need to make sure you don't have 'basic' voicemail.. Those are 2 things I know for a fact that will keep VoLTE from working. But now that they cleared Smart Limits, I have VoLTE everywhere! Good luck!

Nokia 6.1 Device Information Question

Hi All,
I came across a post to do with updates of DDL's here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6-2018/how-to/ota-nokia-6-1-plus-k-nokia-x6-codename-t3839398..... I noticed a USSD code to view system information, which is put into phone dial pad
*#*#227#*#* after doing this i noticed it states ( see attachments )
I am curious why image modification is yes? was this due to upgrading to Android Pie, manually??
Also it says Root Reason: 10 records, when I go into this, it shows Boot Not Match 3, on 10 occasions
I was wondering what this all means, is their anything wrong or is this normal.
Thanks for any advice / assistance in advance.
Same here after manual update, so I'm curious also...
Me to, now im thinking will we still get updates.
Same here after receiving Pie automatically on TA-1068. Never had problems with updates, so I guess the explanation lies elsewhere.

Has Android 10 final OTA landed for the Sprint model?

I saw some mentions of people installed the beta/preview version. I came across this article that states it is the final version:

Yes but I mean if I do not lose my files when updating, like my photos or applications I hope and you answer me fast because I am about to update
I didn't lose any files.
Heads up that payment apps do not currently work with this update. Android Pay says this is not an official rom, and LG Pay requires and update for android 10 that doesn't exist yet. I suspect because although it might be official firmware, it hasn't officially been released yet.
Hmmm thinking of pulling the trigger on this. Wondering if they made improvements in the camera app? Also wondering if there is a battery drain. A lot of updates from several different phone manufacturer's are reporting battery drain after updating to Android 10.
Yes

I notice the battery exactly the same, the camera improved and added new modes, but mainly the interface and fluidity of the Android 10 device improved much more than with Android 9
I took a gamble and decided to install it. Maaananaannnnn am I love this update. What a refinement! Feels like a new phone so much more polished that 9 was on the g8. Also loving the system wide dark made aka night mode. Everything is so buttery smooth
Meanwhile T-Mobile won't say anything on when they will push the update out for their variant. :crying:
