***Stock ET4G Theme*** (deoxeded) Updated 09-29-2011 - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

In the interest of Community and Theming in general I wanted everyone to have the Stock Framework so you could revert back if you so choose... Also themers please feel free to use the zips here to build your themes (they update System UI correctly). ANYONE can use this or any of my work... It's all about sharing in my opinion. Thats what ANDROID is all about... LET THE THEMING BEGIN!!
Instructions
1. You MUST have a deoxeded Rom.
2. After downloading the zip Put the zip in your phone files (not IN a file on the root or you phones file system (hint it shows as a disk when you hook up to your pc via usb).
3.. Go into recovery CWM (I use quickboot which is great and FREE on the market so i can go directly into recovery without shutting the phone off).
a.Start by turning the phone OFF.
b. Hold the volume up (or louder) button down. Then press the power at the same time and hold them both down. It boots into recovery CWM (its ORANGE in color)...
4. Using the up/down (volume buttons) navigate to "install zip from sdcard" (hopefully you've already put the zip in your phone files, see #2), once its highlighted hit the power button.
5. Using the up/down (volume buttons) navigate to "choose zip from sdcard" and once its highlighted hit the power button.
6. Using the up/down (volume buttons) navigate to the zip you put on your phone and once its highlighted hit the power button.
7. Using the up/down (volume buttons) navigate to " Yes - Install "whatever your zip is.zip" and once its highlighted hit the power button.
8. LET IT DO IT'S THANG. Once it's done at the bottom it will say "Install from sdcard complete."
9. Using the up/down (volume buttons) navigate to "+++++Go Back+++++" and once its highlighted hit the power button.
10. Using the up/down (volume buttons) navigate to "reboot system now" and once its highlighted hit the power button.
11. HOLY CRAP BATMAN YOU ARE DONE!!

This replaces my framework-res and twframework-res, but not my Systemui.apk. I believe it may have something to do with the updater script.
Thanks though .
EDIT: Nevermind, somehow I've accidentally placed my systemui.apk inside my framework folder, so it now overrides my current one in system/app. How on earth does one reverse this? LOL!

I was comparing our zips (my ObsidianRed) and I have my framework and app folders under system while yours is just in the root of the folder. Is your updater script edited to work that way? It's interesting because it's different.

[Theme] Megaman JFv1.5

By request here's the JF version of my Megaman theme. This theme features JrBourque and Diaztradeinc's blue VK which worked out pretty well I think.
The process of translating it was ABSURDLY easy so if anyone wants either of the other 2 themes or any themes I make in the future ported just let me know.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/yy1ma5rtndy/JFv1.5_Megaman.zip
this is wicked....
but do u mind telling me how u install a theme in the original home?
Is your phone rooted and if so are you running JesusFreke's Android 1.5? If so just download this file, put it on the root of your SD card and rename it to "update.zip". Power your phone off. Turn it on by pressing and holding the home key first then the power button simultaneously. Press alt+s to apply.
If your phone isn't rooted follow these directions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480
Then download JFs 1.5 here
http://jf.andblogs.net/2009/05/01/when-is-your-15-coming-out/#more-53 (JFv1.5ADP1.5)
When you get to the part that says "download the new and improved firmware" or something to that effect.
Use the steps described in the first paragraph to apply JFs firmware, then once the firmware is installed repeat the process using the theme file and that should do it =)

Non-Deodexed for it.
I can ride on the theme of 2.3.4 [XXKPH] view. (The fact mixed with port of DarkSimplify Theme UOTkitchen).
I want to try it in the comments of my post. That's me.
I did not have much computer knowledge. Try to do so.

Samsung Galaxy SIII Softkeys for GNEX - Alpha

I made the Samsung Galaxy S3 hardkeys to Galaxy Nexus Softkeys.
Flashable with Metamorph or do it manually.
Did not try it, hope someone else can do it because my GNEX is in reperature.
Please post some screens if you flash it, so I can see and make it better, some updates etc.
DOWNLOAD LINK: http://www.file-upload.net/download-4445951/GalaxyS3SoftgeysForGNEX.zip.html
Tutorial:
MetaMorph
Download and install MetaMorph from the Market, open it at least once so that the folder AndroidThemes will be created on /sdcard/
Download a Softkey Style using the MetaMorph link and move this .zip file to /sdcard/AndroidThemes using your favorite file explorer
Open MetaMorph, choose "Unzip/Extract new theme" and select the .zip file you downloaded. A popup screen will appear, meaning it has been extracted. Press the "Close" button.
Hit the "Apply all!" button and wait +/- 5 seconds (nothing will happen)
Reboot your phone immediately after this and you're done! Oh, and set a new wallpaper because it may be restored to default..
(Phone can hang in "SystemUI has been ended". Just pull out battery and restart phone.
2. Advanced (Hard) Method - Edit the SystemUI.apk from your phone - thanks to bangdrum! Not working for everybody!
Download and install Root Explorer from the Market and make a Nandroid backup
Download the softkeymod you like
Open Root Explorer and navigate to /system/app/, find SystemUI.apk, long press, and select extract. Go to the folder sdcard/speedsoftware/extracted and make sure you have a folder that's called SystemUI
If the folder is there navigate to where you downloaded the chosen softkeymod (usually sdcard/download) and long press it. Select extract all. Go to sdcard/speedsoftware/extracted and there should be a folder with the name of the softkeymod.
Click on this folder, and also on the next. Hit the menu key and press 'Multi Select'. Highlight all the images included in the folder and select 'Move' at the bottom. Navigate back to the SystemUI folder, go to SystemUI/res/drawable-xhdpi and 'Paste' here. A command prompt should pop up asking to replace the current images. Select 'Yes For All'
Go back to the sdcard/speedsoftware/extracted folder, long press the SystemUI folder and select 'Create ZIP'
Rename the created SystemUI.zip to SystemUi.apk and move the SystemUI.apk to your /system/app folder. Change permissions of SystemUI.apk to rw-r--r--
Reboot your Galaxy Nexus (pull battery out and reboot, this is an essential step) and your softkeys will be modded!

[Q] A zip that deletes the manual and quick start from NST?

Hello there,
I have a simple question, I'm sure most of you developers know how to help us all.
I have a NST not rooted (I don't really need for mods and stuff) but I would like to get rid of the manual and the quick start guide that really annoys me.
Is it possibile to create a zip (maybe an img would be even better) that starts ClockworkmodRecovery and then that includes a flashable zip that deletes the 2 epubs?
So that everyone can delete them once and for all.
Let me know if I can help you.
Perhaps it would be better to download and install a root explorer (such as ES File Explorer) and use it to browse and delete these epub files.

well, that includes rooting, installing a launcher, installing a program...
i thought that a zip that does it without rooting and without anything permanent on the device would be better.

I make what you asked for, find it enclosed. It is a zip update for CWM. I guess you know how to proceed but I've left instructions below for those who face this issue for first time:
1. Make a backup of your NST with noogie following this instructions.
2. Download the file enclosed within this post.
3. Burn 2gb_clockwork-rc2.img file to be written on a SD-Card using Win32DiskImager or dd on linux.
4. Open the SD-Card (where you burn 2gb_clockwork-rc2.img) and copy the DeletingEpubGuides.zip on the SD-Card.
5. Power down and insert the SD-Card on the NST.
6. Press the power button for 3 seconds, so that the device boots (you don't have to hold the power button after the 3 seconds)
7. As soon as the display changes to the "CWM logo" screen, push and hold the lower left and the lower right button until the screen changes again. Wait until you see the recovery. Hence, you'll be already booted into Clockworkmod recovery (Button layout: Both Buttons on the left: BACK / Upper button on the right: UP / Lower button on the right: DOWN / n button: SELECT / Power button: TOGGLE DISPLAY).
8. Install through CWM recovery the DeletingEpubGuides.zip update placed on the SD-Card. When you'll read "Done" press power button during 10 second and eject the SD-card.
9. Press power button to turn on the nook to let the devices open commonly.
I've just tested it over my NST v1.1.2 and works without problem.
Best.

I'm running 1.2.1, and I found them at /system/assets/userguides/standard/ . (There's also a /glowlight/ folder in the /userguides/ directory, FWIW.)
EDIT: However, deleting them there doesn't seem to remove them from the library. And I can't find the /system/media/books folder. Hmmm...
EDIT AGAIN: Also found them in /data/cloud_assets/books/userguides . Deleting, rebooting, and will report back here if that did it.
LAST EDIT I SWEAR: SUCCESS! Deleting them from all the locations listed above made them vanish from the library.

Disable Long Press Menu Kill app

This is specifically for Wicked ROM v10, v9.1 Galaxy S3:
(Remember, always do a nandroid backup)
To disable Long Press Menu Kill app
1. Copy "android.policy.jar" to your phone
2. Use Root Explorer copy "android.policy.jar" and navigate to:
"/system/framework" paste and overwrite the file.
(If it gets frozen, you might have to do hard reset - pull battery)
or hold down "volume up + home button + power button until power off,
then release volume up + home button while still holding power button.
Best option if above doesn't work...(might work on other ROMs)
Best option is to download ROM and open with winzip or winrar,
Navigate to "/system/framework" replace "android.policy.jar" and install rom. (long press menu kill will be gone)
If you want really nice toggles (see attached picture)
navigate to /system/framework and replace/overwrite "lidroid-res.apk"
If you want to replace shutdown animation for stock animation:
navigate to /system/media/video/shutdown and replace/overwrite "shutdown.qmg"
Bootup animation is located at "/system/media"
file named bootanimation.zip - change to your liking...
Mod edit: Attachment removed
@all, I would not download anything this guy has posted!

There are several problems with your instructions. Please learn how to make something flashable before releasing it. Imo, there is no reason to do this the way you wrote it. There are several, much better, much easier, and much safer ways to do this.
Also, is this your own work? Or did you pull it from another rom?
Lastly, be careful not to post paid apps here. This isn't pirate bay or some warez site.
