If I buy this is there any way to sim unlock it?

The only problem is that this phone probably doesn't support HSPA 1700 band, so can't be used on T-Mobile, Mobilicity, Wind.
Althought it uses AWS, but that's LTE AWS, not HSPA AWS, not the same AWS that T-Mobile/Mobilicity/Wind uses.

and we found out the signal used it's actually different the normal AWS band was 800, and LTE was using the normal AWS bands

Any idea on how to unlock the SGS2 LTE from Rogers? Is it sim unlockable?
Is it the same as At&T SGS2? or more like the T-mobile SGS2?

as mentioned earlier it's the same Hercules design, just using a different radio
so, yes you can get it SIM unlocked

My understanding is that this phone has:
GSM: quad band
WCDMA: 900, 1900, 2100, (no 1700)
LTE: 800 (AWS)
So it means it can't be used on T-Mobile. Am I right?

get the Telus or Tmobile version if you want to use it on Mobilicity, WIND or the quebec one... forgot name

Haha, just goes to show how big a competitor they are to Wind and Mobilicity..

T-Mobile Rhodium spotted on FCC as NM8RHOD210

So the previous filling which was found in early april (filed on Feb 11, 2009) and was though to be t-mobile's rhodium although the test report showed it was sporting At&t's 3G bands, 1900 and 850MHz, is now outlived by a newer filing.
Issue date April 02, 2009 FCC ID NM8RHOD210 with t-mobile's 3G 1900mhz and 1700mhz

You guys think since the At&t banded rhodium was filed earlier that it would be released before t-mobile's RHOD210?

wow, your still on a wing!? I've got a classmate thats still using it with the original shipped rom from when it first came out! I hope you've atleast updated yours.
I thought T-Mobile 3G freq. is 1700/2100 AWS... Where's the 2100 freq. in the FCC docs? I couldn't find it...
OPPS... nevermind. I just checked the FCC docs for the htc dream (aka G1) and they only list the 1700 AWS downlink freq. also. So... I wonder what the 1900 WCDMA band is for? It's BAND I, so does that mean Europe or possibly for AT&T also?! I thought Band II was 1900...

Thanks for clearing that up! The Wiki definitions weren't that clear to me...
fone_fantatic, I was wondering that same thing, in regards to the dates of the FCC filings. Everything is of course rumors at this point, but it's been said that T-Mobile will be selling it first. However, as you said, the first model to pass FCC was clearly not T-Mo, contrary to original postings. Thing is, that doesn't confirm or deny anything either. T-Mobile could still have rights to selling the phone first. We do at least have a rumored (there's that word again) date on T-Mobile, but I haven't heard a word about an at&t release, though the TP2 is clearly listed for them in that HTC roadmap layout.

lol yeah, as the Barium, with a GREEN keyboard.

this is the best news for all T-MOBILE customers ever.

soon we won't have to go through all the nonsense, not having the right bands for our phones.

Never thought I'd see the day I would actually be able to use my Nokia E63 on 3G bands...its only 5 years late lol.
Now I'm a bit confused...if they use the AWS band for LTE, what about our phones that use AWS for HSPA+?
Our phone doesn't support att's lte but it does support 1900mhz 3g/4g
Newer Tmo phones will have lte most likely

The phones will probably use multiple bands at the same time ... hspa+ on one and LTE on another. Right now our SGS2 gets dual band hspa+
Cool deal. Although the best news ever for me, as a T-mobile customer, would be something along the lines of "Dear Loyal 10 year T-mobile customer, we are proud to inform you that your bill will be FREE forever, thank you for your continued loyalty."
I was thinking that T-Mobile have a sharing agreement with Sprint with in regards to LTE. I'm liking this plan much better with finally joining other 3G phones. I'm probably going to pick up an old 3 unlocked phone as a back up now in the near future.
Sent from my Galaxy SII
guys... you do know that LTE data packets are not the same as 3G data right?
so even if they are on 1900 radio frequency it does not mean they can get 3G 1900 on LTE 1900 and vice versa
the guy that wrote that piece of engadget was totally wrong in assuming that
yeah...I've owned a few phones, my E63 never received 3G under Tmo, it was a UMTS 850 / 1900 device, it worked with AT&T just fine. My N1 and NS were HSDPA 900 / 1700 / 2100; both supposedly only compatible with T-Mo's AWS. And our t989 is HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100...working with both Tmo and ATT's 3g UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+.
LTE is a completely different technology by my understanding...if they use the AWS band for LTE...phones like the Nexus S and One would cease to work on 3g, correct?

using your assumption
if they use AWS band 1700 + 2100 for LTE like they are doing in Canada (Rogers, Bell, Telus) then yes, it will mean AWS phones made for HSPA 1700 / 2100 will not work on those 3 networks
because the technology is different, and thus data packets are different, even if they are on the same radio frequency
luckily in the case of the SGH-i727 counter part of our phone, is enough to flash it with the correct modem to get HSPA AWS instead of LTE AWS
however the case with the 1900 LTE frequency, does not enable current 1900 HSPA phones to work on LTE
This is a double edged sword. It will draw 10's of thousands, if not 100's of thousands of iPhones users to T-Mo with the promise of cheaper plans. Then they will congest the network, T-Mo will raise prices to increase bandwidth and we all loose out.
Don't our T989's have LTE ready to go (for the most part)? I am trying to upload a screenshot but xda is saying it has an improper file extension... *#2263#

Getting LTE to Work on Note 2 N7100 on ATT (Help!)

Okay, I just got a Note 2 N7100, I was using an iphone 4 before and basically swaped out the sims and HSPA + is working and I can make calls etc. However LTE is not showing up.
When I check network discovery there are two ATT networks the one lets me connect without any issues second one doesn't. So What can I do here to enable LTE ?
Thanks
N7100 is 3G/hspa+ only
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Um..
If you just google search the N7100 it says LTE 700mhz/2100mhz band
The N7105 should be the none LTE version Even on engadget.com/2012/09/12/galaxy-note-2-fcc/ N7105 = None LTE version
ATT uses 1700/2100 LTE. See something missing?
Besides, I'm pretty sure no country outside of the US uses the same bands for LTE that ATT uses.
The ATT iPhone 5 does not work on LTE outside of the US either.
IF ATT uses 1700/2100 then
Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n)
Bluetooth 4.0 technology
Model for AT&T: 4G LTE (700, 2100 MHz)3; UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
Model for Verizon: 4G LTE (700 MHz)3; CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz); UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
Data only4
Taken directly from Apple's Ipad 3 4G Site
States 700/2100 So...
Not only that, the LTE chip is not there. Germany has it but it will not work on ATT. Anyway, who cares? I have 3G now and it works fine for me. I can live without LTE.
Pretty sure the bands are different for the international version vs the us version which is why it wasn't a world release.
So wait now the n7100 doesn't have lte chip? It's not about who cares it was stated it did when I purchased the unit. So yeah.. everyone screams it has it so what's the real deal now
It does have LTE but on a band which is used on a different carrier. It's like unlocking an iPhone and putting it on tmobile. You will only have 2g service because tmobile uses a band different than AT&T for their 3G which isn't compatible with the phone.
No LTE for USA .mmm Yah , guess once its bought most will settle and argue that "I dont use it" or "I don't need it". Keep convincing yourself the $700+ was worth the jump. Check the shootout and spec vids happenin. This "update" is like the 4 to 4s iphone. Note 3 will be the upgrade.
Still rocking the N7000/i5 combo
Last few Iphone 4 then galaxy Note Intl version running 4.04 with Speedmod rom, now i5. Note 2 Pass. <flame suit initiated>
In other words if you go to the UK or where ever you purchased the phone from you will have LTE there. But not on AT&T unless they use the same frequency as whatever carriers are overseas.
But the Band support is ATT's Bands?? It's not a different band ATT uses 700/2100 And the N7100 Supports 700/2100
When I search for networks I spot 2 separate ATT networks one I can connect to but the other won't let me.
N-7100 - 4G Network - LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 2100
I717 - 4G Network - LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 1700 / 2100
Do you have an AT&T LTE data plan and LTE sim card?
Here's the plan I have for ATT
It's the Iphone 4 (3G) Unlimited (Grand fathered in with 3g sim card not 4g) Originally from my iphone 4
It could explain the other ATT network it picks up and won't let me connect could be the 4g and I'm on the 3G sim/Plan from good old Unlimited Days?

Umm... Of course you need LTE plan and sim card to get LTE service working. You don't put dvd in blu-ray player and expect blu-ray quality, do you? =p
Anyways, even if change your plan and sim I doubt you will be able to connect LTE. On the brighter side, once you switch to LTE you won't get throttled until 5gb data usage. =)

Yes 3G works on the Note 2 I stuck my old 3G Sim blue one in there it's on HSPA+, I'm going to go get a ATT 4G sim card and see what happens.
The specs say it supports ATT 4G LTE network.

LTE on T-Mobile question

Does this phone get LTE on T-Mobile and if so how can I tell if I'm getting it? I get H+/4G/DC data icons depending on the ROM but the fastest down/up speeds I get ever is 14mbps/2mbps 99% of the time I'm getting 5 down/1 up with full bars the T-Mobile coverage map shows my entire area Dallas, TX with high speed Internet. Am I not getting LTE? I see people posting 25+ speeds I have never achieved anything near that.

I am using ATT phone on T Mobile and I can get LTE without any issue. Based on your speed, it appears to me that you are getting HSPA+ speed. Have you checked your APN to make sure you set it as fast.t-mobile.com (or make sure you set what T Mobile recommends: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10361)
Yes my APN is the T-Mobile US LTE, my speeds are no different with the fast.t-mobile.com APN or the epc.tmobile.com APN. If I set my APN identical to that link it just switches back it won't let me use those settings. Does this mean I don't get LTE when phone first boots it doesn't get data for awhile and shows this

If you compare:

LTE bands:
700 MHz Block B 17 LTE 4G Active Main LTE band providing complete coverage
1700 MHz AWS 4 LTE 4G Active Additional LTE band for more bandwidth in select markets
1900 MHz PCS 2 LTE 4G Active Additional LTE band for more bandwidth in select markets[31]
2300 MHz WCS 30 LTE 4G Active[32]

700 MHz Block A 12 LTE 4G A-block rollout has begun Spectrum acquired from Verizon Wireless [80]
1900 MHz PCS 2 LTE 4G On air [81]
And the AT&T GN2 (i317) supports Band 2 and 17, so it makes sense that you could get LTE on both networks.

[Q] VERIZON NOTE 4 working in Europe or no?

Hi guys
I have an opportunity to buy a VERIZON NOTE 4 from USA,but since I'm from Europe I'm wondering if it will work with no problems in Europe (including 4G) and is it unlocked?
Thank you in advance
Where do you live in Europe?
my home country uses 1800 mhz for LTE and Verizon note does not have that.
However you should be be getting HSPA+ pretty much everywhere.
I live in MACEDONIA and I'm on ONE mobile carrier.

Yep same like Poland 1800mhz for LTE from what I am reading you will get HSPA+ but prob not LTE.
If it's not the development edition BL is not unlocked and Sim does not come unlocked normally, but it's possible it may have been unlocked.
I would say if it's not the Dev. Edition you are making a $700 gamble because as of now we don't even have root on retail version.

I just talked to my mobile operator ONE here in Macedonia and they confirmed that their 4G frequencies are BEND 3- 1800mhz mostly and only their base uses BEND 20-800mz.
They said that T MOBILEs NOTE 4 LTE 4G will be compatible with their frequencies.
Here are USA TMOBILE's NOTE 4 frequencies ,copied from their website:
International:
Quad Band GSM; LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17; UMTS: Band I (2100), Band II (1900), Band IV (1700/2100), Band V (850)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
and the is from VERIZON's NOTE 4:
Network: LTE Band 13/4 (700/1700 MHz), CDMA/1xEVDO Rev. A (800/1900 MHz); Global Network: EDGE/GSM (850/900/1800/1900), HSPA/UMTS(850/900/1900/2100)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SO IS "T-MOBILE'S NOTE 4" LTE/4G ,COMPATIBLE WITH 1800MHZ ON MY MACEDONIAN CARRIER, OR IT IS SAME AS VERIZONS NOTE 4 LTE/4G AND THEY ARE BOTH NOT COMPATIBLE HERE IN EUROPE????

You will get edge and hspa+ and maybe 3G.

It seems that you are right.I just received a message on Facebook from T-MOBILE saying that they DON'T SUPPORT LTE on BAND 3-1800MHZ ,so I guess It won't work here in Europe.
This is what they wrote to me:
"Thanks for reaching out! Our version of the Note 4 doesn't have band 3: https://support.t-mobile.com/community/phones-tablets-devices/android/samsung-galaxy-note-4 *SL"
It seems that it is the same whether I buy it from Verizon or Tmobile! But are you sure that at least Verizons NOTE 4 HSPA+ and 3G will work here in Macedonia?
My carrier is ONE and it works on GSM 900/1800mhz ...... 3G 1900/2100 and 4G 1800mhz !!!!!!!
