Change Log On Version 1.5:
Update for VillainROM 2.4.2
Crt-Off animation.
Black statusbar background.
A little new look for the pull down.
Looking very nice!
I tried to flash it but I run into a little problem: I flashed on Villain 2.1 and while the notification area is transparent on the lockscreen, it is still solid black on the homescreen. Or to be a bit more precise: on the homescreen wallpaper it's black but when i swipe down the notifications I can actually see the background of the notifications coming in behind it so it's transparent again. Any ideas to whats wrong? I wiped cache and dalvik-cache after flashing.
What launcher do you use ?
If you use Launcher Pro or any other exept Adw Launcher EX you need to use a live wallpaper.
If you are on adw launcher just got to the settings of it then General Behavior/System preferences and uncheck Wallpaper Heck.

Somebody could confirm if any kind of overscroll works on it?... (VillainROM 2.3). I can't see OS in VRT
Why does it say 'theme' in the title, and its actually just small part of the framework.
Its still a theme.

Post your Galaxy Nexus home screens

It would be great for people to share their home screen setups, I'm interested to see what is possible with ICS
Unfortunately I can't attach my screenshot as I can't post external links yet.
You can take a screenshot within ICS by pressing the volume down button and power button at the same time.

HTC Sense 4.0 Transparent notification bar on custom launchers

HTC Sense 4.0 custom launcher transparent notification bar
Hello, When i got a HTC One X i got bored of the HTC Sense launcher after a week or so, so i downloaded Nova and i noticed that the transparent notification bar is no longer there, making the homepage of your phone look ugly compared to how it looks with HTC Sense launcher. I believe that it might be the phone thinks that the launcher is an app therefore it loses the transparency like with all apps,
If you have the knowledge of coding or know anyone who does that owns a HTC One X please could you ask them if there is anything they could do to make the notification bar transparent on custom launchers?
I was running an ICS rom few months back on my HTC Desire HD and the rom had an option where you could select the transparency of the notification bar, but it wasn't sense.
The problem with sense is that by default the opaque status bar has a gradient, which looks really ugly on most launchers.
When running an AOSP/AOKP based ROM, I actually mostly prefer it to be opaque because it looks nice.
SlimROM has an option to set the transparency level for the status bar. But it does have a few artifacts, as you can see below:
With transparency:
Without transparency (how I prefer to use it):
And BTW, did you actually make that graphic just to show what you meant?
Looks really pretty. Could you post both of those wallpapers please?

I'm a perfectionist, and I was bored ;-) besides I want to show what I mean.
As for the 1st wallpaper that's something htc is using but I can't find it, second one should be included with all sense wallpapers

Hi all !
I would like to do the same thing.
I'm currently on Viper X and using Apex launcher. There's an option in ViperX which allow you to set transparency on home or on applications.
It's seems the first option doesn't work or is dedicated to sense. When I modify it, it's doesn't change anything.
The second option allow you to set transparency but the status bar is transparent on home AND on applications...
Is there an other solution ?
Thanks

Do you know of any Windows 8 start menu themed launchers?

Has anyone found a windows 8 themed launcher ? Thanks in advance

I think he probably means metro. Launcher 7 doesn't scale very well, so I guess I'm looking for one too.

I like how it says "Windows 8 PC HD" and yet it uses elements from XP (background) and icons from Vista/7. Not even worthy of $0.99...
But yea I too think the op meant Modern UI (Metro is deprecated), which, would seem "interesting" on an actual touchscreen in my opinion.
best bet would be to use another launcher to increase the desktop grid, find/make the icons you want and use desktop visualizer to mimic the W8 layout..
another option is to actually create a wallpaper with the layout you want on it and then overlay desktop visualizer widgets over parts of the wallpaper. Here's some old wallpapers i used on my old Aria using this method. Maybe it'll help you to get an idea.

multipicture livewallpaper in conjunction with the above methods and can also be used if you want to use dif images per desktop and to tweak the desktop "page turn" animation
Holy crap dude that looks good!!! Desktop visualizer confuses me lol can't figure it out
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
haha thanks.
It isn't too difficult once you figure it out. Essentially its just a resizable launchers. You set an app/action to launch and an image for said action.
In the case of the photos above, the icons and everything are actually part of the wallpaper image. DV is used just to overlay the areas of the wallpaper that I want to be a button, set the widget to open the app portrayed on the wallpaper then the image is just a transparent png.
in the case of attempting a Windows 8 theme, you could basically grab a W8 screenshot trimmed to your desired resolution, overlay a DV widget over the individual launcher icons on the wallpaper, set an app to open and use a transparent image.
