i had a factory unlocked defy with 2.1
i managed to root it, but one fine evening it kept getting stuck on motorola icon
i did the factory reset/wipeout from the motorola recovery screen
after reboot the phone started, google account signs in then signs out itself, and motoblur cannot complete account setup, the red registration bar gets stuck in the end, i guess i cant create motoblur account from UAE (etisalat carrier)
how can i get my sweet moto back to normal? is there a way to flash 2.1 or even 2.2 from motorola recovery screen? how can i fix things?

i now know how to boot into bootloader which is 09.10 for my defy but while there and connecting the usb cable, drivers are loaded, and rsd lite does recognize the device. However it is not highlighting START when i point it to the stock 2.2 UAE rom i downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122210
i donno what to do

fount the correct stock froyo 2.2.2 and flashed with rds
the solution was so simple in the end, learnt a great deal today

I have a myTouch3G (32B) - I think I rooted it successfully - I got the ROM to install the newest one 6.0.0 (Android 2.2) and its running fine, however I can't get my Google Apps back. I got the zip file as "gapps.zip" on my sd card so that I can just get into recovery and hit Flash from zip "gapps.zip" like I did for installing the ROM, but I CANT get into the recovery mode anymore. I hold "HOME" and "POWER" just like I normally did and all it does is show the slash screen and it says "FASTBOOT" on the top in red, I cannot get to recovery mode anymore! Can anyone help? I just want the market back...OR try to go back to 1.6 and just say f**k it with all these custom roms
You Are lucky to have made it that far. Can't get the gold card to work for me, so i am stuck on 1.6, but a lot of the apps that i want to use need root-or 2.0+. Still no date from T-mobile as to when they will update the line. either way puts us in the same boat with the F**k it thing. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

i bought Motorola defy from hong kong
i am Egyptian that's why i was searching to install Arabic language and i did it with not connected letters
and i saw in some websites font will let the Arabic connected letters i copy it to the system font using super manager and i was trying to restart my phone
but since that time the phone can not restart ((((
i made rest many times but no way
anyone can help me how to solve this problem
Have you tried factory reset? Turn off the phone (pulling battery if necessary), hold the volumn down button, turn on the phone and wait for the recovery screen, then wipe and factory reset?
If that doesn't work, you may install RSDLite and flash the 2.51.1 sbf. HK version uses 2.51.0 no blur rom but it is not available. The 2.51.1 is close but with blur.

there no way to restore it back like iphone you just restore the original software

Hi guys , I have a rooted defy with stock 2.51 sbf sea version . After i factory-reset my defy , i found out that i could not get pass the Set-Up Screen .The set-up screen is entirely black with the grey notification bar. The usb connect is still working and my sim card can still be detected . I tried to flash a fixed 2.51 rom in my phone but the problem still persist . Please advice and thanks in advance

And I Cant Access The Recovery Menu , so i can wipe data or any thing
The Bettery isnt A Problem Because i Have 2 betterys
and luckely i have 2 other defy phones at work
so when the bettery is down i only put the batter in another device and charge it
any way
i tried flashing several stock roms didnt work insted it gives me a white led when usb is connected and no m logo by then
i was using the UK Retail 4.5.1_128

Go to stock recovery and full wipe the data/cache before attempting to flash another sbf or rom.
i cant go to any recovery menu , i pressed vol down + power for like 2 mints and nothing happens i only can go to bootloader
Try to flash with original SBF, which was installed when you buy the phone and also try RSD version 5.3.1 with driver 5.2
gona try that when i get back from work today , just one thing how would i know wich version was on it we have another moto defy here at work with red lense , is there a posbility it wil be the same ? i checked the phone and it found that its the same from the inside when i got mine
Try to find that which SBF is supports in your region, then try. As i already get stuck in this situation earlier and i use SBF which supports in our region then it gets resolved.

Version which u r specify is relates to eclair (2.1) and going back to eclair is difficult. Now in my opinion u can try this SBF http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1093352, if this not work then u have to go to moto service centre (without telling truth) and repair from them.
isnt there another way than sending it to the company :S all sbf failed

if all you can get in, is bootloader
try figuring out what your last android version was (2.1 2.2 2.3)
or better what version your cg39 is. (3? 4?)
from there flash the appropriate sbf file
the one with the same cg39 version as previous os.
from there, go where you want...
