Complete redesign of Case-Mate Barely There case! - Galaxy S II Accessories

I ordered a Case-Mate barely there and the design is different from all the designs I have seen on Youtube and all the pictures I have seen! It looks a lot batter now.
Things they have changed:
- Sides are raised slightly now so you can put your phone screen down without scratching it
- Better camera protection
- Top and bottom have a MUCH nicer design
- Overall smoother and cleaner design
Check out these videos and pictures of the old case:

I got the old version and my sides are raised aswell, i can lay it down on my desk with no problems and prefer the old camera cutout look tbh.. But i'm glad you are happy with yours

Bugger, mines a bit broken on the thin bit next to the volume rocker so was looking to buy another. Maybe not now, looks much worse especially the (pointless) camera change.

when did you order yours? I prefer the older look!

Mate, these screens are damn near unscratchable. I've had mine for 4 months and when people ask me how easily does the screen mark, I take out my car keys and scratch them back and forth over my screen. Not a mark. My G1 was the same.
I actually dropped mine on the carpark at work, it has a tiny dent on the top right corner of the case but, apart from that, it hasn't a scratch.

nice =) like it

hey there peeps if anyone does want the older deisgn i have a couple of brand new ones iam selling on xda forums

I agree, It doesn't even protect the sides all the way...
I wouldn't buy it
Kinda cool how they integrated the kick stand, but I agree its kinda a bad wrap around the phone.
It does cover more then the T-Mo Clear case w/kickstand though and for $9 i think i may just get it to try it out.
On a side note.... i stopped by the Verizon store today to see if the sweet Fascinate Kickstand case would fit on my Vibrant. It did fit almost perfect except the speaker was block and the camera was half blocked. I think im going to order this korean one and then if that doesnt work i may just buy the fascinate one and modifiy it to work with my vibrant. It really felt and looked awesome... just wish it was 100% perfect match
*My previous post got deleted by accident w/all the other 24 hr data during yesterday's maintenance*
I think that seller was selling 3 diff colors; black, white, and pink(?). I bought the black one 3 wks ago and recieved it about a wk ago. Initially, I thought that it was going to be shiny hard plastic case but to my pleasant surprise, it wasn't. The exterior is covered in a thin layer of hard rubber, covering the black hard shiny plastic underneath, while the inside of it is slightly padded. It looks a lot better in person than in pics.
Is the kickstand serving its purpose? Hell yea, it is...it makes watching movies on my dope SAMOLED screen that much more awesome The hard rubber makes for a good grip so it won't easily slip out of your palms like it sometimes would w/out it and it gives the phone an overall slick/cool (IMO) look. The only downside so far is that I'm getting some very small worn out spots where the hard rubber has rubbed off but it's not a big deal though.
Pics or it didn't happen, you say? Well, check 'em out !

Awesome TEE!!!!! That's exactly the response I was looking for! I went ahead and ordered mine last nite! Thanks so much! cant freakin wait!
No prob...it's a great investment. The seller also threw in a surprise gift--an extra clear jelly case!

just wanted to bump this thread and want to say i absolutely love this case. its slim and doesn't add any heft to the phone. i also like how the company added some soft padding on the inside of the case so our phones won't get scratched up on the battery case.
only problem is with the extra jelly case they provided; while looking and feeling nice, it's hard to press power button with it on.
at any rate, excellent case.
I purchased one about a week ago. I havent received it yet, but i can wait.
It looks good I just placed an order. thanks for posting pictures.

I purchased the Silver Metallic "Barely There Case" last week. Shipping was great - arrived in one piece.
The first thing I noticed is the color. The picture shown is nothing like the color you get. I personally am actually okay with that. The color you get is more of a black chrome finish. It's shiny/glossy but NOT a chrome like finish as the pictures would suggest.
Here are some pictures. (Pictures of case ON phone were taken with Droid Charge the ones off the phone were with the Thunderbolt)
The overall fit of the case is great. The case fits all the curves of the phone. The problem I've noticed is the left side of the case "bows" out. Maybe this is a simple defect, who knows. Regardless. If you hold it from both sides you can feel it move which also causes it to make a very slight, yet annoying noise.
Overall, it seems like a decent case. Not sure if I'd recommend it at this point however.
Sorry if this isn't that helpful as I can't say I've ever done a case review before. I will admit I am a complete case whore though. I hope vajacases makes a Thunderbolt case!
-Travis
I just ordered one of these off ebay in black. I hope it's not bowed, so that the phone doesn't move around inside the case. That would definitely annoy me.
Well let me clarify... The phone doesn't move around in the case. The case itself just isn't a tight enough fit so you can actual feel the case change shape.

I've got the black one at work, don't remember it moving around in the case, or it being loose, but I'll try to remember to check it tomorrow and report back.
thats pimpin'

I noticed that when the Barely There case was on, the fit wasn't perfect around the volume buttons, and it did make a tiny bit of a noise when it was gripped around that area.
I grabbed a black one and love it. Sure, it doesn't provide full protection that some cases do, but the 'barely there' name is totally legit. I can't stand cases and I barely notice this one. Case is pretty good but the seam was coming apart on one corner, emailed Case-Mate and they are sending me out a new one. Great customer support! I would recommend this case to anyone who is looking for a little extra protection without making an already large phone, giant... Check out the pics I tried to show just how thin it really is. Oh and ignore all that lint...

Nillkin Dynamic Fashion Hard Case Review

Just thought I'd post my opinion on my latest case and throw up a few pictures for you guys to have a look at..
This is my second case for my S3, the first one being a FONEM8 Hard Slim Shell off eBay (www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140764120157) and while I was happy with the fit and style the rubberised texture attracted dirt like you wouldn't believe. In the end I had a grotty off white case that wouldn't even wash clean You can see what I mean in the 3rd picture.
Off I went looking for something similar in fit but with a gloss/shiny finish so it didn't end up all mucky and found the Nillkin Dynamic Fashion Hard Case (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230807084265) paid my £10 and waited for the postman. It arrived fairly quickly from China and I'm pretty happy with it. The rainbow effect that can be seen in the pictures is fairly subtle and can't really be seen in the pictures, its most noticeable in natural light.
Here's the pictures anyway (http://imgur.com/a/Hy2gp)

Those are really nice, I have the black textured one and it feels like it will protect your phone. Also goes over the bezel of the phone enough that you can leave it face down.
I bought one but didnt like it, i didnt like that theres little to no protection on the corners of the phone ,i bought a samsung vented case instead and like that better

The corners and top/bottom are a tad exposed, for me its trying to find happy medium between protection and keeping the device feeling slick and lightweight, can be tricky
I tend to go through cases quite alot (finished with about 8/9 for my iPhone) so I'll do a thread like this for each one I buy so others have a decent(ish) reference :good:
Here is mine...
Good.

Review of UAG S6 Edge cases w/lots of pics!!!

I promise not to bore you with another one of my long review write ups among hundreds I've shared with you already in our community
Due to similarities with the original UAG S6 case, please refer to my full detailed review here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/accessories/review-uag-galaxy-s6-lots-pics-t3103661
But I still want to mention a few things. When I heard of S6 Edge announcement and seen early images, the first thing that went through my mind was "oh, no, how the heck manufacturers going to make their cases for a full protection of this phone?!?" You have to admit, it's a challenge for sure. While there is no issues protecting top and bottom of the phone, you no longer have a luxury of wrap-around sides to keep your phone save? Just got Maverick and Ash cases for my S6 Edge display model, and UAG nailed it! You still have access to view sides of the display, the edges have a protection bumper, and you have an extra thick bumper protection at the top and the bottom. I know, the top and the bottom edges look like they sticking out more than usual (due to recessed side edges), but I think it's for the best to keep the phone safe if you drop it down.
The case itself is super lightweight at only 1.2 oz, and it was still 3rd party Drop Tested to MIL-STD 810G-516.6 standard. All other design elements are identical to the original S6 case. Here for S6 Edge, UAG only introduced Maverick (transparent clear color, http://www.urbanarmorgear.com/products/clear-galaxy-s6-case , available on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/URBAN-ARMOR-GEAR-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00TRG8K0A/ ) and Ash (transparent gray color, http://www.urbanarmorgear.com/products/ash-case-for-galaxy-s6-edge, available on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/URBAN-ARMOR-GEAR-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00TRG8KGY/). Both colors create a sick 3D transparent effect that looks cool with a slick design of S6 Edge.
Here are the pictures.

Hybrid Flip PU Leather Case is fantastic for no more than £3/$4

Bought this case off eBay for £2.78 and have never been happier with a product this cheap. The thing isn't too cheaply made, it's just generic, the appearance however is anything but generic.
You can get these cases in a bunch of styles, I liked this one since it reminded me a bit of Marques Brownlee's color scheme.
The build quality is just standard, but it really can not be perceived as bad. It still has the annoying trait of being less than pleasing to hold in the hand when you bend the front cover back like most leather-esque cases are, except for the higher quality ones (Which don't exist for the OPO to my knowledge). There aren't that many cases for the OPO out there still left in production, so the only ones you can find are that bulky metal one people keep raving about, or others with branding all over the place. This thing is just a mass-produced, average quality, but very aesthetically pleasing case, and I couldn't recommend it more.
Here's some pics of mine as is:

Don't think I've seen anybody really review this case, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see a nice looking case for the OPO that's still available and isn't extortionate.
Looks nice, I am not usually a fan of flip cases. I assume this is the one

Looks like it. I just wanted something stylish so I got it, and for the price of the currently existing decent cases for the OPO I could get 10 of these.
Does it have the magnetic on and off when you open the flip cover?

Nope, I hate those things, since it would have to wrap around the side. There's always this and this though.

I'm honestly not a fan of those either, that's always the first part to break. Lol. I'm wanting to know if the phones screens turns on automatically when you open the flip cover. Thanks for the quick response.

I think that is just a stock feature if the case supports it. I don't know of a setting that you can turn off and on for it to work. Oh well that would have been a big selling point on this case for me but thanks for letting me know! Still looks really nice!
