support for car - Galaxy 3 Accessories

Any suggestions where to buy a good support for car specific for i5800?

This cheap universal holder does well in portrait mode. I use the air vent mount, it is pretty robust.

dont know about car specific, i bought one similar to the above post from media-markt, rotates to landscape view etc, any smartphone holder should do the trick, havent seen any with a dock function yet..... although its just a mini-usb connection, maybe someone out there has made one?

I bought a standard microUSB car charger for ~5€, that does the trick fair enough without any harm. With this baby even the sound is better than the built-in speaker :-D The whole bunch was far below 20€.

Hi blacky, live near the border between B, NL and D (drie landen punt), and yep originally from scotland!
mobistar was the only sender with a mast here, border is only a few km's, otherwise it switches to a NL provider and the roaming charges start building up

My car could legally drink alcohol almost anywhere in the world :-D Nobody would bother stealing an old cassette unit from an old car (I hope), and the sound is great, so no reason for me to replace.

seen the picture of the cassette and the pencil doing the rounds on fb? tripped over a box in the attic filled with tapes not long ago....
were going waaaaaay off topic now!......

I found a decent one
here: http://www.londonmagicstore.co.uk/C...%2526+Charger+for+Samsung+Galaxy+3+i5800.html

looks okay, price is good including charger, but looks like a universal holder, wouldnt say it was specifically for the SG3....

but I don't think they ever gonna make a specific car holder for a "low" end device like ours

My dad bought a in car holder that sticks to windscreen and the phone clips in snug . Only thing is that it's for his Nokia 5500 but I tried my galaxy 3 in and it was a perfect fit. Unbelievable but true

That would be handy. We have a home unit I could use this with.
Thanks!
Use code HOLIDAY15 for 15% off. Takes the total down around $5.
Yeah I originally bought the audio only version but Just ordered the combo so I'd have one less thing to take up my cigarette lighter adapters. Gonna gift the old cable as it still looks and works like brand new. P.S. they are pretty fast shipping wise as well.
I want to get this for my Volvo but not sure if it will work. My Volvo Ipod adapter plays the playlists on the ipod, and I'm able to play slacker. ANyone think this will work with a Volvo ipod kit?

They only list the VW and Audi as not Compatible. I think you'll be fine. Either way if it doesn't work it won't be hard to return or resell.
Neat, I will definitely think about getting this

Serves me right to be called a spammer lol. I switched to iPhone with the iPhone 4 and just came back to android for the Galaxy 2. Since I switched everything for iPhone I had to find a way to get my new Galaxy II hooked to all my docks and car kits I spent hundreds on. Buy or do not buy, but I have been hanging around here since 2007 and thought it was about time I contribute.
I've been using a female dock adapter I picked up from Deal Extreme, but it picks up electric interference when I use it in the car. Anybody else experience this?

you need:
-A phone. (In my case now is the Samsung Galaxyi9100)
-A cradle with 3.5mm audio output jack to be possible (which also charges a second battery and operates in Clock, so when you connect, a screen type alarm) in the i9100 this only does the original cradle Samsung
-A car radio with Aux input "external input" (I installed a radio that has Bluetooth, because you don't need a connection 3.5mm audio output jack on the cradle)
-Transformer 220v to 12v AC continuously. (A PC power supply would be enough, but get yourself a power supply silent)
-Several speakers (I had them at home, they were in an old car)
-MDF 10mm thick (thicker more weigh the furniture!) (This measure 27 centimeters W x 110 centimeters H x 20 centimeters deep, but it depends on your preference depends on the speakers you put course!)
-Wood screws 2.5 milimeters x 20 milimeters approx.
-Tools: jigsaw, drill, several screwdrivers.
-Take time, patience and desire to do it!
-I finished covering leather fabric (imitation leather) by the front and sides, black paint on the back. I also added some wheels.
-The speaker grille is made of a wood strip of 1.5 milimeters and a thin black cloth stapled wood and some nails.
-The Bluetooth radio show the title of the songs played on your screen. The remote control is great to use sitting on the sofa.
Greetings. - eldelcairo

Amplified has a problem: power Amp.
The power supply for home is low amps.
A car battery works with more Amps.
Amplified you have to install a very expensive power supply.

dude that's some truly nice work, great idea
Awesome idea! I have an old deck in my basement, now this gives me an idea.. lol
I noticed that you transformed 220v down to 12vac.. Next question is, did you put in a bridge rectifier? To go from ac to dc? I'm pretty sure most car stereos are 12vdc. I would hate for you to smoke that awesome setup using ac, instead of dc. I might just pick up an cheap pc power supply to run my deck, its a shame that the higher current dc power supplies are so expensive, i would add my amp and sub into the mix to make a really sweet setup.

Combined wireless charger and dock - for desk and car

Hi, I see that there are several threads for wireless chargers, but most discuss flat pads. I want a dock, where the phone is tilted. I have found two so far:
Tylt (http://www.tylt.com)
Nexus orb (not available, and it seemed to get many bad reviews).
I also want a car holder which charges the phone wirelessly. It must be possible to operate the phone while driving, and ideally, it should support other phones as well.
Any other recommendations? Is the Tylt best fit for desk charging?
Not sure how i'd feel about Tylt either. Not only is it quite expensive ($70), but i find it odd that a company would create a promotional video saying "Place your device in any position to charge", and when they lay the phone on its side, it's clearly NOT charging, both by the message saying so, and the lack of the charging symbol on the battery icon.
I spent the whole afternoon looking into this.
There is the Nokia CR200 and then a couple of generic, Chinese sourced ones (which does not look elegant)
I am currently considering a "home assembled" one consisting of
1) a flat wireless charger (like the Zens)
2) mounting using Tetrax for both the phone on the charging pad and the charger on the dash somewhere
or 3) a bit of Velcro (but would not look elegant

PLEASE Please Don't operate a phone while driving.
The angle on the Tylt seems too low and the lip on the bottom seems bigger then it needs to be if you want to use the lower portion of your phone in either orientation. If it can't charge in landscape mode that's also a big problem but I can't confirm that.
There's a few more idea's in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518703&highlight=charging+stands

If you can manipulate a radio, you can manipulate a phone. Changing a song is a flick of the finger, don't exaggerate everything in the name of political correctness.

Important party is don't set the puck centered, you want to push it all is the way to the top, so that the qi element is lined up correctly, and the x grip tongs aren't touching your volume and power keys

Thank you for the consideration. I would never text etc while driving, but I would consider accepting a call just as safe as operating the radio. Of course, I have a built-in BT handsfree.

So there must be more out there!
free postage - I highly doubt that if I would ordered it (to Germany) but yeah - something like that. Now i just have to find a less geographically challenging solution.
But thanks for the suggestion.

There is a company called EverDock that was on KickStarter, it features a DOCK where you can switch the plug from forward or reverse, plus you can either use it for Iphone, Ipad, Android Mini USB. There is also a dock they sell that allows two devices to be charged at one time. Here is a link

Any docks made specifically for OPO?
That would be awesome. Been looking for that.
An ideal one would be made out of bamboo, and with bamboo back cover...
I really dunno if this works, but I found a suggestion in another forum: http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00JGRIKOQ/ there I was told this works with the OPO, too.

That one breaks really easily. I've gone through 2 already (removing the phone from the dock eventually breaks the pegs that holds the cable in place).

Can you tell me what exactly breaks on this docking station? which pegs? why at the cable? the cable is on the backside, how does something break there when the phone is being removed?
BTW, stations for the HTC One M8 should be compatible I was told. Has anyone experiences with this?
could this be an alternative?
http://www.amazon.de/Emartbuy®-Funktion-kompatibel-Docking-Ladegerät/dp/B00KC0X98I
or such a universal usb docking station - as long as the usb plug has the right direction?
like http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00JFLV3KG/ref=nosim/andrhilfdeand-21 or http://www.ebay.de/itm/Universal-Do...e-Nexus-5-HTC-Desire-S-Desire-Z-/400802464581
Or is there more to watch out like angle of the plug or the distance to the backside?

but I am not sure: where does the phone have íts secure stand? Is the phone held by the usb connector only? My last shown examples above have a higher back, which can hold the phone very secure and protect the usb connector against the pressure when using the phone in the dock.
Check out the Lambda-Dock. The connector can be turned and its produced in germany...

Docking stations (micro usb or qi)

Hi everyone,
I just ordered the OnePlus X coming from a Sony Xperia Z2. One of the things i am really gonna miss is the posibilty to put the phone aside my bed in a wireless charging dock. I bought a QI receiver already but I can't find good/affordable docking stations, only "plates".
Anyone a suggestion for a good, fitting, affordable charging dock (micro USB or QI) please post below.
Thanks in advance :good:

May I know why did you move from Z2? Considering the specs, imo Z2 is a better phone than Oneplus X. Since it has bigger screen & batt, NFC, Dual band WiFi, DLNA, apt-x
It was my business phone and I foun a new job. Furthermore it wears out pockets, Ihad to bring every pair of jeans to the reparation guy in the past 12 months. Other than that it is a perfect phone with great batterylife
As far as I know the OPX doesn't support wireless charging
True, but it will with a receiver placed on the backside which i have. I will update the OP.

Ordered and tested. A short review for the Dutch and Belgian users below:
- Delivery: was fast and good via DHL without additional costs. I ordered it yesterday (Netherlands)
- Looks: clean, personally I really like it
- Fit: is very good, the micro usb is adjustable which is a good thing. It is not that easy to plug it in though. Maybe I need a little bit of training, if not I will order a QI one instead*.
- Charging: to soon to say.
If anyone finds a good looking qi docking or cradle (not a ridiculous charging "plate" like Samsung has for the S6), feel free to post below!
I'm waiting this for OneplusX. I think it's amazing
http://fuzzdock.com
Just FYI, its not that hard to do a DIY dock. Just a heads up. You can make one with just a piece of cardboard, some tape and a MicroUSB cable, Google Cardboard style. I made mine with some LEGO.
Oh and it fits just fine and is perfect for docking the phone by the bed. I don't even need to look while docking.
