Widget to switch between GSM auto and WCDMA - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

As title really is there a widget available that does this? Needed due to poor carrier signal in my area... It will never switch to wcdma on its own.

Yes this would be nice

As far as I know, can't be done.
The next best thing is a shortcut to the mobile networks menu.

Oh, thats a shame.
Would you know the name a widget thats a shortcut to the menu then?
Cheers!

use Toggle 2G/3G

Cyanogenmod 7
The only 2g/3g toggle that really works just by one click, is build inside of cyanogenmod 7. The 2g 3g toggle in market only takes you to the wireless settings. Btw cyanogenmod 7.1 works great on SGS 2!

could this functionality (as in CM 7.1) be added by a custom rom or kernel?
if yes - is there anything available yet?

Widget for switching gsm/wcdma

Does anybody know where I can get a widget to switch between the two?

You wont find one. Its just not possible as Android doesnt permit that. Sorry mate...
Cheers

There is the 2G-3G Widget
I use "Network" by "Philipp Mangelow". It doesn't auto switch but it gives you quick access to the network settings so you can switch between the two (faster than navigating through menus I find).
I haven't tried the 2g-3g application from CurveFish, but last time I checked it recommended not using it with the Desire, may have changed now. Best of luck =D
I know, I saw that. It mentioned not to use it with the Droid too and that was my phone before I've just got the Desire.
I've used it with both and all seems well. Again, it just takes you straight to the setting as opposed to being a toggle switch. But its a shortcut nevertheless.
Not seen Network before, so will look at that. x
SwitchPro widget has this working with some ROMs - not all. I had it working on Eclair but not on FroYo.
The PowerControl widget in OpenDesire ROM allows this exactly. You might be able to install its APK and get it working. It has a 2G-3G toggle and a separate GPRS-HSPDA toggle. You can set mobile data to only be enabled if 3G is enabled too.
The CurveFish widget opens the cell settings menu for you to change between the two - not a widget toggle per se, yup.

The Power Control in CyanogenMOD does allow this, but presumably support for it has been specifically coded into the OS.

Widget that actually switches between 2G and 3G

Is there a widget for the Defy that actually switches between 2G and 3G (to preserve power when its just laying on the table waiting for email) as opposed to bringing me to the network settings menu which seems to be the case for all I've used? Even better would be to get Widgetsoid to do so...
I use Extended Controls from the market which has this widget function.
Edit: widget just brings up network menu as you described. Sorry.

To my knowledge, this is not supported by Android, this, no widget can do it up to now.

+1 it's not supported by android
Then how come system settings can do it?
Didn't find a 2G/3G widget yet, but if you point an "activity" for Any Cut to "GSM/UMTS Options." I've renamed the shortcut to 2G/3G on my phone.
This launches the part of the network settings in which you can toggle 2G-only on and off.
It's not a direct toggle, but it takes only two taps to switch 3G off which is faster than navigating to settings>wireless&netwoks>mobile_networks>select_network. And with the Any Cut method you don't have to remember where to look in the settings menu, which is laid out in a very unlogical way.*
*) Really, why are Location&Security combined? Wouldn't Security&Privacy make more sense?

(LTE) Where can I find Data or CDMA/LTE toggle widget?

I'd like to toggle data off completely AND/OR toggle CDMA/LTE..
Beautiful widgets 4g toggle is broken and just says airplane mode.
Aren't there aren't there any 1x1 data/cdma/lte toggle widgets?
if you are rooted, there are mods and roms which have this feature
however, if you are unrooted, the best you can get is a widget which acts as a shortcut and takes you to the settings page to turn off lte manually
you can just search for 4g toggles in the Play store in that case

I've found that 'LTE Switch' from the app store works. It's not a real widget or app - it just takes you to the settings page, but it works.
AOKP has an option to add an LTE toggle to the drop down menu, I would guess other ROMS do too. Very awesome feature, even though I don't use it very much.

2G-3G switches (no just shortcut).

Hi there. I have a rooted I9300. In CM i could change in the notification bar easily between 2G and 3G, this is not the case with my rootet but stock S3 , all the apps I get are just shortcuts to the settings menu.
Is there an app for this that with root devices can change the network speeds? I do not want to get a custom rom yet, waiting for stable CM10.
Thanks!

First off: Wrong forum mate. This should be in the Q&A section.
To answer your question though: Look in the themes thread for something that could modify the toggles.
Or look at an app called "Super Status Bar" here on XDA in the Android->Apps section.
Finally, in the unmodified Samsung JB leaks, long pressing any of the toggles takes you to the specific settings menu. I.e. long pressing the "Mobile Data" toggle takes you to the mobile network settings menu. I know that it's not as convenient as a 2G/3G toggle, but it's there if you need it.

[REQ][i9192] 2G/3G toggle

Hi all
I'm looking for an app/widget to quickly change from 2G (GSM) network to 3G. I tested Intelli3G, but unfortunately it's not working for i9192 ;-(. Is there any way to add the switch to quicksettings bar in the notification? I do have root privileges.
I was looking for it some time ago for previous phone and as far as I remember it was an android limitation, so all available on Play Store widgets were only shortcuts for the system settings menu.
I do know, that it was possible to toggle the network in CM, so maybe there is some hack for Galaxy as well?
Regards.
I am also looking for the same.
I was gonna try this thread to add toggle but I am unable to decomple apk to smali's.
