i just recently rooted my android sony arc but when i go to search for a update it continues to tell me that i have the latest software installed. Now i know thats not right i have seen the arc on 2.3.5 and 2.3.4.
Anyone know how i can fix and update my phone?

I may have missed something, but can someone point me to a link were i can find the 2.3.3 update for my Droid? i was on androidcentral.com and it says the update is out and ready but i cannot seem to find it so hopefully im not just being an idiot and its right in front of me somewhere. Any help is much appreciated

so can i apply this update just like an OTA update or do i need to be rooted or anything? or is there a link to some instructions in a forum as to how to do this, so no one has to do alot of typing?

I'm new to the community and was looking for some help. I have an Xperia X8 and upgraded to Gingerbread 2.3 I'd like to downgrade to 2.2 or 2.1. I was wondering if anyone has a SOLID guide on how to do this. I've been searching all over the net and since I'm an android newb, I haven't really been able to find anything too helpful.
If someone can please provide me with some advice or a link to find this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello guys, im newbie in roms and all the phones stuff so please dont criticise I have a HTC Desire Z with Android 2.2. My question here is how to update it to newer? 4.4.4 would be awesome, i want newest i can. I found some posts on couple of forums about this but every was like "format, flash, update, boooom done". Can anyone tell me how to do it from begining? I mean how to format it the way it should be, how to flash, what do i need etc.

You need to use gfree to exploit and root if you want radio s-off which is the only way you should root this phone. And be sure to read through all those links to understand fully first, I know it may be overwhelming but it is important.
As for best ROM, we don't make suggestions in xda but the third and forth post will link you to every to available. Gingerbread runs the best overall but there are many ICS and jb ROMs that work almost as well (some will say better) and KitKat has come a long way where many will find that it suffice for daily use.
You'll have to try a few, make backups, try a few more to see what works best for you
If you get stuck somewhere just ask in that thread and many are there to jump in and help

Kay so i downgraded my phone with fre3vo and rebooted, everything was fine. Now the guide says i should head back to official rooting guide on wiki but the problem is i cant root it now. At downgrading it worked with no problems but now i just cant do it. Can anyone help please?

H i guys i have not been on for a year or 2 i cant find the correcdt forum so maybe i can get help here.
I have used someones ultimate hd 2.0 android version 4.04 baseband 8x55a etc and kernal 2.6.32.9-perf.
I need to clean up and reformat my phone itsw so slow now. Can someone refer me to another build i only am looking for battery life, I do not play games etc.
I still havve all the root tools etc on my computer unless flashtool changed etc.

If you are keen to get the latest firmware and baseband then you should head over to IaguCool' s thread on Xperia Firmware Downloader & Checker. Follow the instructuions there. You will need a copy of Flashtool and it'd be good to read the thread on 'how to' as all the instructions are there, rather than jump to the last page and ask, which is what everybody does.
This will deliver you the latest stock build for your area/service priovider, bootlocked and not rooted, so what you do with it after that is up to you?
