New to epic touch 4g

I just switch to the E4GT from the mesmerize (USCC GS1) and its an awesome phone. I just flashed blazer rom and its awesome! Keep an eye on shabby's ics work though, he's been working like crazy on it all day.

I hopped on board today from the 3d as well . This phone is soooo much better than the 3d. I was wondering if you can force roam . My 3d had the option roam only . Didn't know if it was because I was on a custom rom.

Nope I was on blazer 3.8/3.9
And now im on the new ics fb09!
I wanted to try MIUI but the last week (only had the phone for 8 days) has been crazy with firware leaks.. I feel like im in heaven! This is nothing like the 3d forums... Did you get a white or black one?

Got a black one. Found one on CL for $320 so I went ahead and picked it up. Honestly hadn't even thought about getting one. Was kind of a spur of the moment thing. Dadoc04 talked me into it.

haha i dont think youll regret it at all!
it may feel weird at first if you never owned a galaxy s device (plastic,cheap,ect)
but trust me they can take a beating... my launch E4GT got beat on pretty hard (a few drunken nights)
only thing i really miss about the 3d was the resolution... but meh with a Samoled + screen i can get over it

Just got my epic touch 4g and im excited to get it rooted and ready to go? I thought this phones came with internal memory?

I'm in the same boat. Only have had mine a few months. What will really fire me up is if it comes out before we have ICS on this one lol.

Ah, I'm running ICS right now and judging from some other threads I saw we might be getting ICS soon.
Rev 2 of our phones will be shipping with ICS apparently.

Unless you wanted to wait until November to get the SIII, you made a good choice.
SII came out in April, landed in USA carriers in november. Just because they are doing an unveiling doesn't mean it'll come onto market the next day...
But I suppose you have the option of paying 600+ dollars for unlocked, international which still isnt a bad price, but I can think of a few places to put that 600 besides a phone. I'm happy I got the SII for FAR on the down payment.

Can always sell the SII and buy the SIII that way you save some bread..... but I can't wait to see this bad boy, even tho I may not want my SII anymore bcuz of it

I bought thisnphone onnlaunch day at tmobile. I di agree it wont be getting launhed here in the states till way after the international release. Im saying 6 months after intl gets it well start to get news about carrier releases. If i do get it im buying it unlocked. But i did promise myself id stick with a phone until its no longer usable. I love my sgs2. Updates can wait because this can do everyrhing i need. I can do other thinga with 600+ dollars.

I'm guessing it will be awhile before we get it. All this confirms is an unveiling over seas.
On a side note check my new sig guys thought it was cool

I have little faith it will launch on US carriers the same day. We all know how US Carriers have serious fetish with bloats.

This is utter BULLHONKY. I've had this phone since October and have been patiently waiting for ICS, and I swear that if Galaxy S III comes out before ICS for Galaxy S II I will DISOWN SAMSUNG and never buy a phone from them.

Exactly!! Anyone who thinks this phone will drop in the US anytime soon is crazy. Bloatware comes first when it comes to phones in the US. carriers will try anything to get more money from you. We were the last to see the galaxy sII on tmobile. Why would we see this phone anytime before January next year?
If there is no option for native ICS then I will pass. The galaxy sII will live on long past the release of the gsIII..

Well if it does get launched before June (which looks to be the case) I'm selling this phone and getting the international version. The 4G speeds don't matter to me since I never get over 8mbps anyway. I'd rather have the phone that gets updates right away and has better rom development.

If you call retentions, more than likely they'll take care of you. If you're out of contract retentions entire job is to keep you from leaving. The way they could handle this situation is more or less set it up in the system as if you were going to cancel, but locked into another contract... more or less, as if you had cancelled, then signed up as a new customer. In fact, that might be how they'd do it.
Give them a call and try.

I really would wait if I were you, signs of this means a new Nexus phone is in the making by Google. Which I would buy because GS2 has been a mess with ICS, and I am secured updates with a Nexus device!

Rethink that. Sprints version of the galaxy nexus is not supported by Google. The sprint version is code named the toroplus, look it up. Good development community though

I'm not sure that device is any better than what we have now, in fact it might be worse.

I know ICS runs better on it. Smoother In my opinion. My wife has one. I talked to Samsung this morning and according to them Sprint is hustling Epic owners about a bug fix update. The Samsung Supervisor even said it was never recommended that Sprint push the update. She said no update is in the works for this model. The funny thing about it is Samsung says there call lines are flooded with Epic owners having issues and Sprint tells me there are not any problems and I need to take out insurance. That will be a cold day in Hell!

Where did you exactly find that info?everything I saw was that the nexus was called "toroplus"as in the model name.everything I read is that it is Google powered and there roms for it..please lead me to the direction you saw what you did.

Read in the galaxy nexus forums, most people say don't get the sprint or verizon versions as they don't get their updates like the ones purchased through google play.Still good phones etc, just not the same google experience.

Hey guys i had one sprint nexus i never seen like this phone so f*** crupy does not have good network, radio, worset battery,
I sold on ebay anf boughy sgs2 best phone so far i got. Please i recommend for people stop buying this phone. I don't know verizon nexus sprint hell no.

Well, it's goodbye!!!

With a heavy heart I am here to confess I am leaving the world of Vivow... :crying: The waiting game for updates and empty promises from HTC and Verizon both, I have made this decision to sell my Incredible 2 and never look back. With that said, I am also saying farewell to HTC completely. Not enough backing of their current lineup in my opinion. I shouldn't have to upgrade to the latest phone just to get the new build of Sense or latest build of Android. I should also not have to depend on community developers to get what I want. Oh well, it's time to cut the strings.
Dev's.. from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you all for giving us your personal time and effort into developing fun, useful, and up-to-date roms that just make us flash-aholics happy!! You will never be forgotten!!

I'm so disgusted at the Verizon/HTC issue that I'm using a "hand-me-down" iPhone 4 until my upgrade comes next week.. worth it to me.. Stick it to the man!

I would ask to buy your phone but seem to remember you having all sorts of issues with it....

Ah.. those issues if I remember were ROM related.. The phone has always been 100% using stock or CM7/9 ... but it's very picky about what other roms I use.. very strange device I have.. but un-rooted and stock it will be good as new.. cosmetically just a few blemishes and only one 1/4" scratch on the screen... not bad for having it and using it almost non-stop for almost 2 years now.. I have it on eBay but I'm thinking of pulling it.. almost 40 views already and 3 watchers.. unless that grows I'll probably yank it.. maybe.. I don't know..

Any thoughts on what you are hoping to get out of it?

Ditched my inc 2 a few weeks ago. Gnex is nice, up to date and no bs. HTC has too many phones in their line so they can't keep them updated reliably...

Honestly, I think the best way to go would be an unlocked gsm nexus device because Verizon screws even nexus owners with updates. The gsm version already has official 4.2.1 yet us toro (vzw) owners only have official 4.1.1 and have to rely on custom roms for 4.2.1

S3 are running fine just a little few bugs to be fixed haven't really flashed those 4.2 roms yet stuck on customized touchwiz ^_^

actually on his google+ page he said that he will be picking up the T-mobile version of the S4 just as long as they dont do any funny locking with the bootloader etc.. plus the first 10 mil shipments of the S4 will be snapdragon 600 because there is a shortage on the new chips either way CM supports snapdragon so its looking good for us i know the articles say this just pointing out the obvious lol
