[ROM][VZW] Stock 2.3.4 - Galaxy Tab Android Development

A working link to the ROM.
I have no idea where this leak came from but it's working smashingly on my Tab.
Install:
1. Turn on USB debugging.
2. Plug in your device.
3. Start Heimdall.
4. Unpack the 7zip archive.
5. Rename the .md5 file to .tar extension.
6. In Heimdall, click Brows next to PDA and open the .tar file.
7. Click Start.
First boot will take a long time, be patient.

Is it rooted?

Ok thanks I'll try that...

I keep getting firmware.xml missing too. What can we be doing wrong that others are doing right??? I saw the samsung-android on the drivers and i installed them. The device is in debugging and i took the .md5 off the file name. Not quite sure what could be going on here. Any insight.

Open Heimdall
Put Tab in Download Mode (Power on + Vol Down, release Power On)
The Following Files go in the following slots....
factoryfs goes in the FactoryFS
zImage Goes in Kernel
param.lfs goes in Param.lfs
cache.rfs goes in Cache
dbdata.rfs goes in Database Data
recovery.bin goes in Recovery
DO NOT DEVIATE
Tab will reboot.
Immediatlly force a reboot into Recovery
Yes I know its factory, Dan is workiing hard on repairing the CWM and Custom Kernel for this.
Wipe Data/Factory reset
Wipe Cache
Reboot

I hate to ask, but there is nowhere in heimdall to put these files that i can find. Only time i have used these was in odin and it still does not match up. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

It means this ROM is for the Verizon Wireless Tab or a CDMA tab. This ROM may work on the other CDMA tab which is the Sprint tab.

Which version of heimdall are you using?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App

Im using 1.3.1. What tab on the program do you put this. I only have a browse for a firmware package on the first tab, flash tab with a pit file. and a utilities tab. Im really confused.

Uninstall 1.3.1 and install 1.1.1. It has the individual slots like you see on Odin.

While this Rom would work after a fashion on a Sprint Gtab, it seems pointless to try since the Sprint Gtab already has a readily available GB stock Rom and this Rom would surely mess up 3G on a Sprint Gtab.

Just wanted to report I've been running this since the leak came out, and it has been great!! Resolved the constant FC's in email with exchange server and the front camera worked perfectly with Skype!! Zero issues for me with this rom. Just looking for a custom kernel to run ext4 format...
Cheers!

how do i do this on heimdall? my odin is refusing to show connected download mode, but Heimdall works fine.
Nevermind, got it. Had to reinstal kies drivers to get it to work.
You have to uninstall the drivers for Heimdall and re-install the drivers for Odin - one or the other, cant use both at the same time.
I`m new on this.
So if i will flash this with Odin it will unroot my device ? I have an Euro Galaxy Tab P1000 and now i`m rooted.
How do you root this rom?
I've tried z4root which didn't work. Superoneclick finished rooting but any apps that require root always fail saying root access not aquird.
Any help?

Oh yeah, downloaded the P1000ZTKC1 and tried to upgrade my tab but always failed when Odin tries to read boot.bin and bricked my tab. Had to reinstate Tab again. Maybe it is because the firmware is not packed properly or could be I am doing it the wrong way. I had not tried full reset and upgrade yet tho.

[ACS][Odin]Stock EG30 Odexed with Root 3.0/Busybox 1.18.4

Big thanks to RoadRAGEN for helping me figure out an ext4 issue! Odin this to get Odexed stock EG30 with latest root and su binary and Busybox 1.18.4.
This does not wipe data.
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. You do this at your own risk.
I have only tested this with the stock kernel and Bubby's CWM kernel.
Download
IMPORTANT: Make sure you have installed the proper XP or Win7 drivers before starting. Also, remove the SD card from the phone (this may not be necessary, but having the SD card installed has caused Odin to fail for a number of people, so might as well just do it).
1. Extract the contents of the zip file to a folder
2. Open odin
3. Put your phone in download mode (Shut it off, wait for lights to all go out, then hold v-down + power)
4. connect phone (you should see odin put a Com4 or something like that in the first box. The actual number is NOT important what is important is something popped up there when you connected your device, meaning ODIN can see it)
5. The only box that should be checked is Auto Reboot.
6. You do not need to choose a pit file.
7. In the PDA Section choose the tar file. (Odexed-Rooted-Busybox-EG30.tar)
8. Hit start. It will do its thing.
9. If it fails than try a new cable.
10. If the phone hangs for any reason take the battery and sdcard out and let it sit for an hour. Put it back together and try again.

Yes. That is what I have done in testing.
So with this we will have as stock of a ROM as we can currently have, yet still have root and busybox? By stock, I mean the default, out of the factory stock ROM which many claim does not have the LOS issues? Just confused somewhat...

I need help please, ive looked around on the forum for an answer to my problem but to no avail..
The story goes...

Now im stuck in the samsung logo boot loop..
Could someone please help my get my note 2 back.. im not bothered about the data on there as all this is backed up.

You could just stick a Build.prop in a Cwm zip and flash that, but u would need Cwm recovery installed to use that. If you don't have Cwm installed, then go to this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000138
Download the file ending in .tar
Boot your phone in your download mode, open odin on your pc, and in the pda tab, select the path to the Cwm zip.
That would save u from having to flash a stock rom, and u would still keep all your user data.
If u need help making a Cwm zip, i can send u one with a Build.prop later today.

What would be the best program to edit the build.prop on my computer?

Hi,
If you changed the build.prop back to 320, then the build.prop might not be the only problem. I guess the DPI editor you used must have changed some other things in the rom.
I will attach my build.prop here , so try pushing that to your phone, and see if it boots, if it doesn't boot, then the DPI must have changed some other things somewhere on yhe phone, and you will have to flash a stock rom.
Here is my build.prop

Try flashing that, if it doesn't work, then you will have to just flash a stock rom with Odin.

Hey man thanks again for your help, i pushed the build.prop you provided and still nothing.. im downloading the stock fw now on my works connection so its taking forever (12mins left) so i will flash the stock fw to it.
I understand that i stick the phone in download mode.. open Odin, plug phone in. chuck the .tar into the PDA box and hit start?
What do i do if after flashing the stock fw its still stuck on a boot loop???
I do have the phone insured so i can swap it at the store, but due to the holidays that wont be until the end of next week and i need my phone for work... plus im enjoying the learning curve of sorting the phone myself
Thanks again corey
It is unlikely you will get bootloop after flashing stock firmware.
Even you get it just you have to wipe it from recovery (Vol up+home+power) and wipe cache
If that won't help then you have to wipe data(factory reset) from recovery too.
But here with wiping data you will loss your data.
PS : You can flash any stock ROM.

Hi,
Before flashing the stock rom, boot the phone up in to recovery (hold home + power + volume up) and wipe data, Cache, ect.
And make sure u don't tick any box's ect in odin, as some of them can potentially brick your phone, so just leave all the check box's as they are.
Seeing u just changed the DPI, flashing a stock rom will fix it. The only way to hard brick a phone, so that flashing a stock rom doesn't fix it, us by stuffing up the /boot partition. Which is not too easy to do. And changing the DPI wouldn't do that.
Just make sure the stock rom u install is the right one for your phone (make sure the model number matches your phone). As a n7105 rom won't work too well on a N7100 ect.
And leave the phone for up to 10 min to boot up after flashing the rom. So don't try restarting ect till you have left it to boot for 10 min.
Cheers

Go to firmwares.
Download the one for your phone.
Boot into download. Flash with odin.
The file u downlaoded is to be flashed via cwm or twrp. Not via odin. It will be a zip file. Flash the whole zip together.

Can you get into twrp recovery? If so just put any rom on your phone and then flash it. Just don't wipe where you have your rom stored

the link you posted has two kernals for the i317 whats the difference? and where in odin does the kernal go? thanks again guys your all awesome
Have you gotten back into twrp recovery yet?
If youre stuck in a bootloop which it sounds like...hold volume up home button and power until device turns off and once you see samsung logo let go.
Did you make a back up before you flashed? If so restore it and youll be fine. If not then you need to remember this...always always make a backup. Every thread on here says make a backup before you flash.
And btw I dont hate noobs. We all were at one point and I remember how stressful it can be when you're unsure of what youre doing amd think youve bricked. Pm me if you need help. As long as either you can get into recover via the method I said above or alternative method is plug you phone in your pc, open up cmd prompt in then folder you put all your android root files. (Hold shift and right click in a blank space in the folder, then go to open command propmpt here. Then type in:
adb reboot recovery
That will also get you in recovery.

If you're gonna jump straight into ROMs, then flashing a recovery with odin and then a ROM would be the easiest and fastest

Mate, don't forget to make a backup through whichever recovery you choose to use and backup your apps with Titanium Backup.

Dont forget to backup your imei once you are rooted. People have lost their imei by flashing ROMs and have to go through a list of steps in order to get it back. Just download this app and make a backup, if you ever lose your imei just open the app and restore your imei.

Easy and sure way to root your phone - Here is s step by step guide:
After you have followed these instructions your phone will be in the same condition
as it was the day you have purchased it except with the benefit of being rooted.
Download the stock-rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 Jellybean v4.1.1 T999 firmware: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390169635556426451
After downloading make a folder on your computer's desktop and unzip the
file using Winzip or 7zip so the .TAR file is in the new folder you just made.
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file
Here is the link for Odin: http://d-h.st/Q14
Download ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware (a windows app)
Download the Odin Flash firmware for T999 Tmobile then copy it to the same folder as Odin
Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the same folder as the TAR file you extracted
Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
Browse to and select the Firmware you downloaded (TAR file)
Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache!
(It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must be patient!!!)
Good Luck!
