Sd card class 10 Help Pls! - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all i just wanted your opinion since the experts are "here"
i saw this card:
reference : MB-MP8GA/EU (search for this on google - i'm not allowed to post hyperlinks)
samsung
8gb
class10 plus
with adapter
at chip7.pt
for 9€... just wanted to know from you guys if the card is good or not, and if it is compatible with htc desire... i have the original one (samsung 4gb class 2)
regards

Its a micro sdHC so it should work fine. You may or may not get class 10 speeds in the desire though.
As for wherever you are buying it, I have no idea but thats pretty damn cheap.
Also as to whether its any good or not, i do not know. The original Samsung that came with the desire wasn't great. I only go for SanDisk or Kingston myself.

indeed it's quite cheep! that's why i got confused... i'm not an expert on this. i'm completly out from this subject... :S
speeking in portuguese now...
recebi a newsletter da chip7, esse é o produto da semana e está a 8.90€ o preço supostamente normal é 11,90€

Eu só posso falar Inglês como eu nasci aqui. Também por esse motivo eu não sei Chip7. são respeitáveis?

I would say there's probably no point specifically setting out to buy a class 10 card over a 4 or 6 for the Desire. I just changed phones and was surprised to see that my MemoryStar Class10 16GB reads at >20MB/s and writes at 14-15MB/s in the Atrix where I never saw over 6MB/s for reads and 5MB/s for writes in the Desire, about the same speeds the shipped 4GB class 4 gave me. Still, it seems class 10s don't consistently cost more than slower cards these days so I guess it doesn't matter.

Ive got a class 10 and it reads as 6MB/s.
But when my next phone arrives, I already have a class 10.

i understand. My point is just to know if that card would be a good buy for my desire. Since i have the original 4gb class2 (samsung) and i saw this one for 9€ (8gb class 10 also samsung). i don't think it's expensive, i think it's a pretty good deal.
just wanted to be sure.

I got a class 10 samsung 16gb for about £18 which i was content with ...
No dramatic increase with desire but much quicker when im moving movies onto my sd card etc... or for when I flash a new rom and repartition sd card - its good for moving a few gb of data ...
If it's legit, do it

Out of interest, is the slow SD performance Desire-specific, or does it affect all Snapdragon S1 devices? I don't even know if the SDMMC controller is in the SoC or external?

I bought a Transcend 16GB Class 10 SD and I am using Desire with MIUI rom. It is really disappointing as the SD write speed is just 2M/s and read speed is just is just 8M/s. All the people are getting 10+ M/s. How can I get better speed? Or it is the problem of the Class 10 that many people have mentioned in the mention ? Need your advice.

Yes it is , almost all ppl with an desire + class 10 sd face this problem. A class 6 sd is the best one you can use with our desire

It isn't question of class, but question of memory controller. A-DATA cards are compatible with Desire.

I picked it up at Oxygen forum and kind of liked it because I find these geekspeek variations like dawg, gawd etc. amusing.
But since the D2EXT XPART is one of the best GB kernels I think I better say nothing more.
I don't know what is in miui, but iirc 2.6.37/38 all had their fair share of crappy speeds.

Both have read speeds of 24MB and both come out on first of august. For the price you cant really go wrong and nice size also 16gb.
I really would like the class10 only thing stopping me is alot of people having bad performance with the desire. Would they be much difference between the two?
Thanks All help welcome, And I do give THANKS

I have used samsung alot and not had problems with them, and am liking the price of theses ones. even the sd card that comes with the desire is a samsung card, so maybe this class10 will work well.
Not sure the class 10 would be the same speed as the class 6 .. otherwise what would be the point in getting a class 10 ?
Class 10's are faster, but there are a few issues floating around .
A good class 6 will do the trick very well .

Its the write speed thats different the read speed is the same, they say on the site
Am thinking just go with the class6 that way I know its going to work.
Just called HTC and they said class 10 is not supported, they said there htc desire is fully supports class 2, 4, 6
so looks like am buying class 6
i suggest you a Sandisk's MicroSD. They are the fastest.
Higher microsd class parameter don't mean that your phone will run faster.
Some microsd have high speeds for small files and low speeds for bigger ones and others have opposite skills.
so a class2 can run more faster your phone than a class 10

i have a class 10 in mine, works fine. (this one: http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/...archsource=0&searchstring=pny&urlrefer=search )

no idea how good the play branded one is - but the PNY one does the job for me
when i read up it said the class was just the min. write speed. so you can have a class 2 writing as fast if not more than a class 10, its just the min that can change

Well there is obviously someone there that you talk to, that don't know s**t about they're products, Desire support class 10 with no problems.
you can read here two, and there are alot of users that can prove that class 10 is working perfectly on Desire.
Thanks guys, Yer I have seen alot of people on here using class10 fine and also seen alot of complaints about them. So I have already ordered the Samsung class6 16GB. Witch to be fair shouldn't be much difference in the two

[Q] 32GB SD-Card with Wildfire S?

This ones got me a little confused.
Both my younger siblings have the Wildfire S that came with 2GB SD cards - these both work fine.
We've fitted 32GB cards into both the phones and my brother in particular repeatedly received the dreaded "SD Card unexpectedly removed".
Today, my Sister also claimed to have the same issue.
I've spoken to HTC who after several minutes of searching for an answer could only say they haven't tested 32GB cards with the HTC Wildfire S and that we'd need to test it with 16GB cards first.
Are HTC being straight with me by saying that the Wildfire can only support 16GB cards properly or is there something else at fault here?
Both cards were from bought at play.com.
Thanks.
I've got the same problem than you. And my SD card is only a 4Go one...
But, after a second try, it works.
I think it comes from the quality of the card (writing speed may be ?).
Format it first in the computer with fat32.
I've formatted the card as FAT32 already via my PC.
It's a 32GB Class 4.
and i have problems with my 32gb class 4 card.
if i connect with my pc, coming error.
have fotmat it with pc and with phone.
no any chance.

Sandisk 32Gb Class 4 seems to work for me
I've just swapped the Samsung 2Gb SDHC card that came with my Wildfire S for a 32Gb Class 4 Sandisk SDHC card that my wife's aunt bought me for Christmas.
I've not used it much, and I'm unlikely to press it with video, but it's played the music that I restored to it (from a backup of the 2Gb SDHC) and it still has 29.7Gb free for more music (one of the main reasons for getting the phone and asking auntie for a 32Gb SDHC card for Christmas)
i hv d same issue with all cards...then i tried class2 and voila....its workd...i previously tried class 4 4gb...nw i m running 8gb class 2 ...so i thnk it supports only class 2 or smthg else...i hv also installed sd speed increase

I was contemplating about getting the class6 from Samsung, so I'd be interested to hear an answer to your query. My probably broken logic says that no major problems should occur (at least with C6) as the stock memory card is Samsung, but I could be wrong.
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using XDA App.
For what it's worth:
I have been running Revolution ROM for about a month using a Samsung 16GB Class6 (great value/price).
Have not had any issues - well besides a ROM crash the other day where my Desire would not read the card (don't know if that was ROM or card related).
on the end I bout Carte mémoire Micro SDHC Transcend - 8 Go - classe 10 - TRANS-TS8GUSDHC10 for 11€. I'll inform you when i received it.

You didn't go wrong with that one, unless your memory controller decides not to play ball. Transcend is a brand people keep getting the most consistent results using data2sd script.
I advise you to purchase a Micro SDHC Transcend 32giga 10klass I have this card 1 year no problem!
It has been some time since I got the card, the other day I try it, everything has gone fine , but I'm not sure that speed is so greater, I am satisfied.

My old phone S Advance I9070 say in specs that support max 16GB card and i use it 32GB without any problem.

Just FYI: don't go by read wrote benchmark that company show, because really scenario is much different from their test condition. It depends on hardware, software etc.

I would love to get a 64 gb card but they all cost upward of 2100-2200 INR .
If there are any better options, then please let me know......i ve a budget of 1100 INR but i would gladly stretch it if i am getting a genuinely better deal . Thanks guys.
Edit : I am currently using Sandisk 16 gb Class 4 card .

I have samsung evo 16gb class 10 card. it works perfectly. Don't know about 32gb version. As far as uhs is concerned our device won't be able to take advantage of it(that means speed). I have been using for 2 months no problem at all. Even sandisk uhs enabled card works on our device. but i am happy with samsung. please do format your card with fat 32 format and then format within your phone and then use the card. hope this helps
Go for it ... I'm using 32 GB evo ... work great without any problem .

I am using sandisk ultra class 10 from last 3 years.
Earlier used in Galaxy Note & now with Redmi.
Working fine. Not problem as such.
Just FYI: don't go by read wrote benchmark that company show, because really scenario is much different from their test condition. It depends on hardware, software etc.
