[Tutorial] Changing Boot Animation and Sound - HTC Wildfire S

For those wanting to change the boot animation on your Wildfire S, here is a quick tutorial. Remember that you do this at your own risk- I take no responsibility. It is fairly simple though.
1. Download your preferred bootanimation and place on the root of your sd card.
2. Rename to "bootanimation.zip" (without the quotes of course)
3. use root explorer and navigate to /system/customize/resource
4. rename the "bootanimation.zip" to "bootanimation.zip.old" and
5. Next navigate to your sdcard, and find the bootanimation.zip file that you downloaded and renamed.
6. long press and choose copy
7. now navigate to the /system/customize/resource folder on your phone and toggle to mount R/W
8. Then just paste the bootanimation
9. Change permission to RW,R,R and done!
9. Reboot to check out your new boot animation
For boot sound replace this file:
android_audio.mp3

Help with installing custom bootscreen please???

I am using Evervolv-Acies rom, with clockmod recovery. I am trying to install this custom boot screen, but it's not working or I am doing it wrong. I have tried...
Install with "PushBoot" installer
- Download PushBoot HERE
- Extract "PushBoot" folder
- Move boot animation zip to "PushBoot" folder
- Plug in device (Leave in charge only mode) & double click "PushBoot2" Batch file
- Follow prompts in cmd.exe window to install your boot animation
Install with Root Explorer
- Download bootanimation.zip and put on root of your SD card
- Open RE & navigate to "system/media"
- Select "Mount R/W", then either delete, or move existing bootanimation.zip
- Navigate back to "sdcard", then move bootanimation.zip to "system/media" (AOSP ROMs)
- For Sense ROMs, move it to "/system/customize/resource"
Is Root Explorer a program? Or is it just File Library? or there is another App in the market, just Explorer.
Under File Library, I went to system/media and then it shows my zip file, but what do I do with this.. It doesn't sync with the directions. Also, the other way, was pushboot, which I tried, plugged in my usb cable to my computer and phone, hit the pushboot2 on the computer, couldn't find device. What am I doing wrong? All I want to do is change this bootscreen and possibly a splash screen?? Please help???

You want to replace the bootanimation.zip file in system/media with the new one that you want to use.
Root Explorer is a file manager that works at a root level. It is available in the market, but isn't free. As far as I know, the best free alternative is ES File Explorer. You just need to enable root mode in the settings. Just use that to move the new bootanimation.zip to system/media and overwrite the current one. Or if you want to save the current one, just simply raname it to bootanimation.bak and leave it right where it is.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Why not just place the zip file for the boot animation and rename it PC36IMG.zip and place it on the root of your sd card then.
1) Next power off phone
2) While holding volume down button and power button at the same time boot into recovery
3) When recovery starts it will search for update,
4) When it find it you will be asked to apply update, select yes by hitting the volume up key
5) Now it will ask to reboot device select yes by hitting volume up key again
Now you should be all set and "Bam" new animation.
"Hell I don't know anymore"

No boot sounds Cy4noobsMod

Is there a way to disable all boot sounds ? Putting my phone in silent mode doesn't help it still plays the transformers like sound which is way to loud when u have to do it in a public location imo.
Follow these steps:
1: Install root Explorer or ES file explorer etc.
2: Navigate to /system/media or /system/media/audio (cant remember which one)
3: Mount file system as R/W
4: Delete the bootsound.ogg or rename it to bootsound.ogg.old
5: Done !

yup, something like that. actually it was so easy as long we familiar with rootexplorer things. these for more accurately step:
> navigate to /system/media using rootexplorer (don't forget to mount system as R/W)
> delete "poweron.ogg" file or backup it (usually by renamed it to poweron.ogg.bak)
> done!
> or i'd like to suggest to customize it with your own sound file that already converted n renamed as poweron.ogg n replaced or backup the original sound file. recommended to set permission as same as the original (just copy by looking the original)
Hey, Thanks for this tip, Im going to do this after I flash Cyanogen 9
Or you just try the app called Silent Boot

[Boot Animation] white Samsung boot animation for the Galaxy Core Prime

I have another boot animation for the Core Prime, but it should also work with any Samsung phone that uses .qmg boot animations.
***Requirements***
Backup of your old/stock boot animations just in case the new one doesn't work
Rooted device
File Explorer (Make sure it has root permissions)
***Instructions***
Step 1: Download the attached zip below and extract it to your SD card (or your device storage).
Step 2: Go to your file explorer app and navigate to /system/media, scroll down and you should see three QMG files: bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg, and shutdown.qmg. Delete them after you've backed them up.
Step 3: In your file explorer app copy the extracted bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg, and the shutdown.qmg files from your SD card/device storage and then navigate to /system/media. Paste all three of these files in this location. Warning! Your phone will boot loop if you don't use the bootsamsungloop.qmg file!
Step 4: Reboot your phone. The boot animation should play as normal. If it doesn't check to make sure that you've followed the above instructions and try again, and post here if you need help with anything.
