[Q] Largest Font is VERY small - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

This is WM6.5 energy 21916, 29022 Sense 2021. And first of all I want to say this was a great job and thank you. I have had it up about 6 weeks now.
Although the CHEdit is pretty broken (I found about 20 ways to crash or totally foul it up), I finally got a stable setup and it was working fine - and decided not to touch it again - that was about 3 weeks ago.
The problem is that a few days ago the overall font on the phone got microscopic.
In the setting option with the five sizes - it is set to max and if you set it smaller I think it gets down to about 3 pixels.
I have to read it with a magnifying glass.
This is on the main screen and all apps. The top bar is so small it is hard to tell it is there and the "menu" bar is only slightly bigger and the point of the stylus will nearly cover the icons!
The is a Rhodium 100 - and like I said, all was normal and I haven't installed a new program in weeks.
So this was a "random" occurrence and I can't get the normal size font back.
Any ideas ??? Obviously rebooted and restarted sense and all the normal stuff that I could think of.

[Q] "Best" DPI Setting / Rom with S-Pen still working

Hey,
so i have my Note 2 for a couple of days now and i´m loving it, but well, there´s one thing that keeps bugging me and i have seen random "complains" about that here and in several other forums: Everything (especially apps like the sms/message/email ones) plain and simply look way too huge.
So, what i´m wondering about are mainly 2 things:
1. What´s the optimal DPI Setting in which all apps (including the camera) still work.
2. Can this also be achieved with a DPI setting which is normaly for tablets?
3. Is there any custom rom i can install that would do the job without messing up the S-Pen stuf (which is the main reason for me to own this device)
Would be nice if anyone could give me a helping hand with this one.
u can install any custom rom base on touchwiz, just search it in development section
im using 280 dpi and seems all touchwiz apps work, 240 have problem with camera, alarm and browser as i know
I just tried 280 but the page indicator dots now sit in the middle of the screen with wasted space underneath. Also tried 300 and whilst it looks a bit better, the dots still sit too high above the docked icons.

[Q] Apps not scaling properly

Day 2 with my stock (for now) S8.4.
The first thing I did was to download the Google Now launcher, and I was struck by how odd it looks. The Google Search bar is very narrow, and the cards on the Now screen are small and centered on the page, rather than being edge-to-edge as they are on my phone and my old Nexus 7 tablet. Then I started noticing in a number of other apps that fonts are very small, or that there are large amounts of wasted white space.
I can only guess that this is due to the screen resolution, and I understand older apps designed for phones don't scale up properly. But c'mon Google -- really? It's not like you don't have a couple of larger tablets out there already.
Not ready to root this tablet yet; I'm going to sit back and wait for Lollipop to come along and bring a host of new headaches and issues... But the question is am I the only one using the Now launcher (love the left swipe to Google Now!) that realizes it -- and other apps -- look funny? And is there any non-root solution that may help increase the DPI?
Yes, Samsung has messed up DPI. Their apps don't work with it, therefore they put wrong DPI. Solution: root, xposed module, set DPI for each App individually. See several threads regarding DPI.
Yup, I was afraid that was the only answer. Sigh... Really takes the shine off my shiny new toy!

Neat trick to make the interface of the PD look more suiting

After two days of owning the Mate 9 PD I have discovered that you can turn most of the native interface to black instead of white (settings, phone, messages, calendar etc.) by goint into battery settings and clicking a switch.
Not only does this make an all black phone look much cooler, it will also save you battery because - Amoled! Also the automatic switch in brightness between apps like messages and home screen doesnt happen anymore or at least isn't that apparent.
Love this phone more and more everyday.

Indeed, it's a great feature!
Another nice feature...
Just found this on the Mate9 forum, usually I made all my device screens look "bigger" with adb wm shell density...method. On PD9 you even do not need to connect to PC or Mac to get this effect, just go into Developers Options and under "Smalest wide" change the standard 460 to a higher Number (I used 520) to get a higher Resolution (see more screen)...
The bad thing about it is that it only stays like that until the first reboot, but since you do not need to cennect to a PC you can change this back very easily

Sense Home Update- U11 Version?

A couple days ago I received a new update for the HTC Sense Home update, version 9.14.929638, so I naturally assumed that this is the update to the version that the U11 has, and there are indeed some small improvements and changes there and there. But as I watched a review video of the U11 on YouTube, I noticed that the Sense Home on the U11 had what I've wanted the 10 to have for ages. An option that allows you to change the grid size away from the small 4x5 that the 10 has, to something more like the Pixel, 5x5 I believe, or anyway, it allows you to have five apps horizontally.
Is there any chance that the 10 will receive that option sooner or later? Or is there any way to get it even if the HTC never brings it?

The option is there now. You just have to change the display size to small

Thanks!
But is there really no way around it? I mean, I know that the U11 has a bigger screen, but it doesn't look like the size of the display there is set to small.
Which is kinda disappointing, because the 10 and other phones like the Pixel have roughly the same size, and yet the pixel has a bigger grid size by default. I don't see why the 10 isn't able to do that by default too, but that's probably already nitpicking. I'll see how I can manage it with the small display size.
I've given up going for this. Small display size means text is too small for me to read but the huge icons in four columns. This and the average battery are the only things I don't like about this phone.
Would it be possible to force something like it by modifying the DPI?

Fixing few things after upgrade MIUI from 10 to 11

Hi
Today my Redmi Note 5 Pro has been updated to MIUI 11 and few issues showed up. Maybe you have some hints on solving them (phone is not rooted).
1) I have automatic brightness turned on and on MIUI 9 and 10 it was quite smooth and with nice delay. Sometimes too dark but most of the time ok. With 11 update it's extremely jagged, like it has only 5-6 steps and not smooth transition anymore. It's enough to rotate the phone just a bit to get instant brightness drop to a half, very annoying and if that's the new way of working I would call automatic change pointless. Any way to bring back smooth transition?
2) before the update I could swipe lock screen to the right and there I had quick access to flashlight, without unblocking the phone. Currently there is some kind of advertisement of wallpapers for lockscreen I don't care and want. Any way to bring back quick access to flashlight?
Those were two major issues do far. Now two minor ones:
3) scrolling lists is way to "smooth" now and won't stop scrolling when lifting the finger. Have to tap it again to stop scrolling. Looks like a bug, not an improvement.
4) paddings! Lots of wasted space everywhere like a theme for seniors. Dialer for example, before update I could see 5 (if I remember correctly) last calls. Now only 3 fit with lots of margins between them. Similar to settings list. I assume it's some designer vision we can't do anything about it but to embrace (and keep scrolling)
Anyway, thanks in advance for any hints on above issues.
There is no issues on miui 11. I use OTA one 818MB.
