i tried to clear Google Play cache and data, it does not work.
shoot!

Persistent package invalid error here as well
I've been having the same problem for about 2 months with my HTC Desire, and it is driving me nuts! I'm running the latest CM7, CWM, and Sibere data2SD. I've already tried clearing cache and removing data, removed market updates, and this only worked once (in about 100 times i've had the error). Reflashing CM7 works fine as long as I don't restore apps and settings with TiBackup, after which I have the same problem upon trying to install an app. Everything over 500 kb just fails, on 3G networks and on various wifi-networks, to no avail.
I have also tried the Titanium backup market helper, but it just sits there, 'processing' for hours but doing nothing. Also tried clearing the dalvik cache twice in CWM, but it only resulted in the phone hanging at the white HTC startup screen, so I had to reflash CM7.
So, does anyone have another tip I could try to get this thing to work? Because I am getting desperate and the number of available updates just keeps on growing...

[Q] Apps Force Closing?

So I flashed the latest CM7 nightly on Sunday, installed from zip. Since then some of my apps have been force closing. Some are google apps like maps, and voice which I need day to day, others like facebook twitter, multiple browsers and engadget. I tried clearing cache, and battery stats as I use different batteries, and fixing permissions. Since then I have flashed CM7 RC 1 and two different MIUI builds, and have had the same problems with those. I haven't installed from titanium backup, just from the market. Any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: Now even XDA is force closing
I randomly started experiencing a similar problem recently with CM7 RC1... a lot of my apps were randomly force closing including the android core process...
Just now, I decided to wipe and reflash... now I'm having a new issue - the phone is not recognizing the radio.. it says "Baseband version: Unknown"
I can't activate the phone because the second I hit SEND, android.process.acore force closes.
Anyone have any insight?
EDIT: Just wiped and flashed CM7 Nightly build #8 - NO RADIO ISSUES OR FORCE CLOSES SO FAR
I am having similar issues. I am running CM 6.1.0, ClockworkMod 3.0.0.5, and radio 2.15.00.07.28.
I think just about every process has forced close at some point. Frequent offenders are messaging, youtube, and google framework.
Which caches and/or application data should I try clearing?
I am thinking of upgrading to CM7 RC1 but if the corrupted data remains cached will these problems follow me?
Did you wipe dalvik cache? Or possibly try different kernal.
It's back to working at %100 today after flashing CM7 which made my home button not work, then a sense rom.
I have an update on force closes as it pertains to my installation of CM7.
We need to follow the instructions accordingly. What I mean is we need to wipe everything that is suggested in the thread introducing the new ROM.
I couldn't load the new ROM from ROM manager. That is when all the force closes kept happening.
We must go into recovery and format the system, cache, and data from the Mounts and Storage Menu. Then, wipe Dalvik cache, battery stats, cache partition, and data/factory reset. Then install the new .zip from the root of your SD card (Both ROM and Gapps).
This is what worked for me. I have had no force closes since doing things this way.
Also, restore data only from Titanium Backup; else apps revert back to the previous ROM settings.
This may not be exactly the way things are intended by the wonderful developers here but it is what I have found to work.

I read on cyanogen mod forums (thread here: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/15898-app-force-close-on-cm7-rc1/ )
And it was noted that its a known issue, and that re-installing the app worked, or running fix_permissions in terminal.
I installed fresh CM7 RC1, installed a few apps from market, ran fix_permissions and no force closes so far. Might try out the nightly

[Q][SOLVED] Another market problem, tried almost everything

Hi,
I installed the AceSMod007 v14 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113070) yesterday and the market app stopped downloading applications since then. All I get is the "Starting download" message and "Application failed to download" about half a minute later.
It's the same for both: updates and new downloads.
What's more annoying is that this problem didn't go away even after a full wipe, cache wipe, dalvik wipe, instalation of a different rom (one that worked earlier), or restoring a backup. :/
I've also tried to clear the market app data, cache, signing off from GTalk. I've also done everything written here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945284
Nothing helps. Also, what caught my attention was "signed for Market as Froyo: 2.29.405.5 CL293415 release-keys" on the AceSMod007 thread. Could this have something to do with my problem? (I'm still quite a bit of a noob).
Finally, I've just noticed that I am able to download apps from https://market.android.com/ without any problems, which is a bit strange I think.
Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance! I'm off to make another full wipe and try different rom...
Ok, looks like everything is better now...
I did another full wipe etc, installed latest InserCoin [NIGHTLY], after the initial accouns setup and so on, it downloaded automaticly a lot of my apps, but failed at some, and the market problem remained.
Then I went to the market.android.com, installed Titanium backup from there and restored all apps, data and settings (backup made before the market problem first occured)... and now it's much better.
Thanks for your resolution.
I have the same problem on AceSMod007 v17 and would be also fix with downloading TitaniumBackup from the Market Homepage and restore all Apps over TB.
But I don't understand why or whats the problem?
Ok it works... that's the main point
Same problem with a MIUI Rom, but nothing to do... doesn't work...

Running CM7 hboot? If yes:

[Q] CM 7.1 -- Google Apps crash and/or not working

A few months ago, using ROM manager, I upgraded my ROM from Revolution to cyanogenmod 6. I then updated frequently, following all of the nightlies with great success. I jumped onto CM7 when it came out and it worked. When I tried to update past the first release candidate, however, I noticed my stock Browser, Gmail, Maps, Google Documents, and Google Reader now crash. I even cleared all caches and data upon updating.
BROWSER and MAPS problem description: Both programs begin to open up and refresh themselves and then almost immediately disappear--sending me back to the home screen of my phone.
GMAIL and DOCs let me see myheaders, but when I click on one, it starts to open, blinks and attempts to refresh a few times, then sends me back to the list of message headers (gmail) while Docs sends me to the phone home screen.
Again, I am not getting force close messages. I have tried using ROM manager to fix permissions w/ restart to no avail. I tried redownloading Google Apps from ROM manager for 2.3.4, reflashed the Gapps, still no go.
I am completely baffled. Does anyone know what is causing the problem?
Tried a complete wipe? As in wipe data/factory reset, format boot and system?

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm sweating over here.
I just wiped data/factory reset, format boot and format system, reinstalled ROM w/ Gapps from ROM Manager, fixed permissions.
(1) The stock Browser still closes itself w/o opening any pages (no force close message). Just has Google's web address in the bar at the top, looks like its going to open it and POOF. Gone. No force close.
(2) Maps - Opens, zooms in on my location, looks good and then POOF. Gone. No force close.
(3) Gmail - Shows me headers, seems stable, click on header, looks like it's opening, white screen swipes in, sends me back to headers.
Basically, not much changed after the wipes.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I am using an Seiko(sp?) extended battery. Could this be a factor?
If you are using cm7.x.x, make sure you are installing the correct gapps. make sur you are installing the gb-gapps for cm7. Hopefully that wil work for you.

I downloaded the newest gapps in Rom Manager and applied. Same issues.
Just to be sure, this is what I consider a full wipe:
In recovery:
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Under Mounts and storage:
Format boot
Format system
Format cache
Format data
Under advanced:
Wipe dalvick
Back to recovery:
Install rom/gapps
Use cwm 3.0.0.7 for amoled
Use cwm 3.0.0.8 for slcd
Do all of this from recovery, not through rom manager.
That was some seriously detailed instructions. Wow - much appreciated. Followed to the detail in case I missed something that I didn't wipe. *FINGERS CROSSED*
Argh. When I booted, punched in my Google account, the Market installer came up, checked all, ended up in endless Market white-screen loop. Let it sit for quite a while, the beast never stopped, restarted. Got to the home screen and tried opening the browser... still not working.
Between this and last message, I restored my old 7.0 ROM and like I thought, it was still working. *MIND BLOWN*
Not sure what else to try at this point. I've never had a problem installing gapps on cm7. If I think of something more, I'll certainly repost.

Go to settings, applications, manage applications and click on Market; delete Market cache and Market data and reboot. You'll have to reasign your Google account to the Market when you first launch it, and it'll take a minute or two to sync up but, it should fix it.

I did that but it still stuck on downloading...

i had the same problem.
my market was version 2.3.4, and i think it was either to old or it was corrupted.
it not loaded the app pictures and the apps itself.
i tryed it now for some days with the cache deletion, but it doesn't really worked for me.
sometimes it worked for some seconds and then it had the same problems again.
the fix was pretty easy.
i downloaded the new market and installed it.
problems where gone, and i now have a nice new market.
here is the page where i downloaded the market.
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/archo...market-purchased-canceled-issue-on-archos-g9/
download the apk and install it with the astro file manager.
don't forget to enable "menu->settings->applications->unknown sources" before.

thank man i just install latest market and it still stuck on downloading i guess i have to do factory reset to solve this problem...
Mine does that when I have too little ram available...
I've done all of those things and a few more (uninstalled all downloaded apps, cleared caches from all apps, uninstalled market updates, wiped cache partition, wiped dalvik cache, unmounted SD card) and then finally a factory reset and I still can't download anything from the market. So don't count on a factory reset fixing anything.

[Q] [URGENT HELP] Nothing is working!

I have a HTC Wildfire S, rooted, with an AOKP rom.
One day, my phone was running slow, so I rebooted into recovery and cleared dalvik cache and system cache. I rebooted the system and absolutely NOTHING is working. after I unlock the phone, a bunch of processes stop working. Pressing the home button makes Nova Launcher crash. I have since uninstalled it, and still nothing is working.
I can't even turn the phone off using the power button. The only way I can shut the screen off is by removing the battery manually.
EDIT: I tried a factory reset, and it's still the same as before. NOTHING is working. I can go into Settings, that's about it.
A list of apps that stop working:
Link2sd
facebook
outlook
yahoo weather
google.process.gapps
nova launcher
swiftkey
superuser
ETC..
I have attached pictures so you guys can have a sense of what my problem is. Sorry if the pictures are blurry, I had to use my Ipod touch to take them.
Sorry If i have made any errors in this thread. I am new here, I just created an account right now so I can find some help to solve my issue.

I did what you guys said, and I reflashed the same ROM and everything is working fine. The only downside, although, is that I have had to re-install all my apps again.
Also, would you guys know what caused the problem? I'd like to know so that I can ensure it doesn't happen again in the future.

Did you had a lot of applications installed and linked along with dalvik to sd-ext?
Then after clearing the cache on reboot the dalvik files will regenerate in the /data partition if there are a lot of apps and the /data overflows then your apps will stop working without the dex files. And clearing the dalvik cache usually doesn't help in increasing speed.........next time you should go into link2sd and use the "clean dalvik cache" option there.........

This actually happens because Link2SD can also link dalvik cache files as well, what the recovery must have deleted would be the symbolic links that the Link2SD script creates, so next time if you want to clear the dalvik cache, use the option found in the Link2sd app
Alright so it seems, instead of using the dalvik cache cleaner on recovery, I should just use the one located in Link2sd. I'll be sure to do that next time to ensure that no problems persist.
Thanks for all the help!
