Did not know Android Market could do this.. - Epic 4G Apps

Am I super late? Or is it due to never trying it the Android Market from my Desktop?
Anyway, I just logged in to the Android Market on my Desktop, installed an app, and when I checked my Epic, it was pushed for installation and then installed. Awesome!!! <3 Lol.

The web market makes it easy to install launchers when your phone is fcing one like crazy. Then again, so does long pressing the search key and voice searching for launcherpro

Actually, you can rename each device to anything you want. Just when you're on the android market site, go to the setting, my market account, then click on the settings tab. It lists your devices and dates when they last accessed the market.
Click edit, then you can name the device anything you want. I have multiple android devices that I renamed. Now I know exactly which device the app will push to.

This is awesome, I did not know that either.

Official Nfl app for verizon working on epic! NOT working anymore!

NOT WORKING ANYMORE.
I dont believe we will have a working version. the season is almost over and the newest version hasnt been cracked. if it does get cracked i will reupdate the post, but as of now the number changer isnt working.
Here it is, works as-is on my epic, got it from a diff thread on xda
nfl apk
(update 10/27) VIDEO WORKS ON WIFI ONLY!
Will also work on any other android phone!
All credit for this is given to xeudoxus. All I have done is reposted his work.
NUMBER CHANGER DOES NOT WORK RIGHT NOW... will update op when new number changer is up, i am removing the links to old numner changer as to avoid confusion.
Number changer not necessary right now.
apparently the app requires a verizon number which currently the hacked version has a number from a tester phone from a vz store. There is a phone # changer software that u can use a vz number from ur local vz store and it probably will not require updates as often. i will link those here. Not neccessary unless app has stopped working!
nfl app phone changer
[links removed pending working changer]
Instructions! [Credit to rugedraw!]
1) Place the unlocker on desktop, and the nfl.apk on desktop, too. (both files are in the same directory, so no need to go placing them in folders)
2)Then, run the .exe.
3)Enter the phone number, type "y" for yes and hit enter. Once the file is done (the command prompt screen turned green on my PC), I just clicked and dragged the nfl.apk file onto my SD card and installed it with Astro. Al so, I uninstalled the previous version before installing the new one.....not sure how much of a difference that makes, but I'll put it out there.
Thanks to Rugedraw who kindly wrote out instructions for us.
I recommend going to a verizon store and getting a number from their demo smartphones.
YESSSSS!!!!!!

so when sprint fell out of grace with the nfl they lost the official nfl app and the rights to stream the nfl network, ouch. I am trying it out now but it is taking forever to load, I wonder if this is better than the sprint football app. I am thinking the NFL app is not gonna work with 4g.

[Q] LCD Density and the annoying Market

So I have seen this issue on other forums, but was wondering if any of our fine developers had looked into this at all. High level summary---if you change your LCD density, a multitude of apps in the new market (3.1.3) will tell you your phone is not compatible. I believe this happens in version 3.0.27 (or whatever the last version was). Basically, the only workarounds I have seen or found is to reset the LCD density back to 240 anytime you want to use the market (I have found 172 to be the best setting for me, so this is a big difference, and just a general pain to keep switching back and forth). The other option is to downgrade my market back to version 2.X.X. Is there anyway to bypass the density check or force the value the market uses to always read 240?? Thanks is advance!!
Bump. If anyone gets this to work, id like to know too.

anybody know why?
Maybe they have an update guideline.. or improper flagging.. or pulled by request of the person who made it. I've emailed the dev in the past, 0 feedback, perhaps he removed it to release a better version, or perhaps was insulted/furious in the fact that there's other apps that provide the same functions, and even copied his apk icon, recoloring it to avoid copyrights.

Shootme Alternatives?
Does anyone know of any good alternatives to Shootme?
I have v0.8.1 on my phone, but for some reason its not working.
Actually, its kinda weird. It worked perfectly fine on my Evo running Froyo before I rooted. Then I rooted a couple weeks ago and flashed CM7.1. Now its saying "Failed to start server. Please check that you have ROOT access...blah blah blah," even though I've granted it Superuser permission. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the like. I know CM7 has built-in screenshot feature, but Shootme is a lot easier when taking multiple/quick screenshots. Anyone have any suggestions of how to fix this, or know of any good alternatives?

Can someone mod shootme so that we can get a better framerate on the screencast feature. Just to let you know a Dev already did this but his modded apk is no longer available in his thread( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925270 ). Also know that the higher the framerate, the crappier the quality of video. Here are the steps if anyone can do it:
just decompile the app with ApkManager or other and ajust the values in /res/values/array.xml
I would do it myself but I don't have good luck with ApkManager

you are correct sir most old styles will auto update to 3.1.5 unless you have the updater frozen then it will try to push the update thru systemupdates.apk(if u freeze it your old stuff will work FYI), & it gets confused bc the old style dont like that...

Here's how to get the old market back permanently.
Settings / applications / manage applications /market / remove updates
After doing this use MyBackup or Titanium to freeze the upater
Or just delete it.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
Deleting the market updater seems to cause problems but the biggest problem I have with any 2.x market is that after a while it starts saying object not found. I hate being forced to use something ugly
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
I've never had any problems with it being deleted...except it says no connection but I had that even before deleting it. Once I hit refresh it comes back.
i also freeze the market.updater (right one?!) with TB, but after every reboot the new market comes again....

Did you check for Google Play?
That's the new market. The icon's changed colors and logos, but it retained its shape.
Seems logical to think that it may have possibly updated to Play during the change.
If Play's not there either, you may have to search for a Market apk.
