[Q]XTC Clip in CA QC Montreal, or anyone who's willing to ship it(I'll pay the shippi - HTC Wildfire S

<Wildfire S>
I live in Laval, but Montreal is fine as well.
Or, anyone who's willing to ship it? I'll cover the shipping fee, Express, if not too expensive.
Or, if there's no one, I'll just grab one from eBay, but I have a question...
Is PayG still unlimited? This one says 1 credit only.
cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130537812471
and, why is PayG much cheaper than Raskal?

Thank you.

Happy to consider sensible offers if anyone on here is interested.
Thanks.
I saw your ebay auction, but it seems to me (and correct me if I am wrong) that you will only ship within the UK. I am in the US and was wondering if you would be interested in selling it to me. Thanks.
Hi,
Yes, I initially set the auction up to sell to the UK only but I can find out how much the shipping charges would be if you are interested. I believe I also need to pay a customs fee?
How much are you prepared to pay for the device?
Thanks.
PS. I'll only ship to the US upon payment receipt due to the obvious potential for scams (I've already had someone in Nigeria try and buy it!) - no offence intended.

Cheaperst SIM-Free Desire in your country...?

Let's see if we can crowdsource the best prices for a SIM-Free Desire.
In the UK I think the cheapest SIM Free deal is from Clove.co.uk (the dark gray model):
£330 (£387.75 inc sales tax)
€381.95 (€448.79 inc sales tax)
£6 or £8 for shipping to UK
£18 or £22 shipping to Europe
They are out of stock until this Tuesday 4th May (they already sold out of two shipments)
Second cheapest seems to be from play.com at £399 including tax and shipping.
Have you seen cheaper? What about in your country?
BTW: The best Class 6 SD Card deal I found so far was at scan.co.uk. A 16GB class 6 card for £46.98 (£55.20 inc sales tax) - catalog number LN32727 - but it's status is on pre-order at the moment
apparently 3uk have it for £350 on payg...
In Romania you can get as low as 422Euro (VAT included) SIM-Free from online retailer CEL.ro
On contract you can get it at 199Euro and 48E/month, or 229Euro with 32E/month fee at Vodafone that includes unlimited data plan (for 2 years subscription).
In Switzerland, no EU VAT, ~ €347

I can confirm this as I have one in my pocket. In store that is, it's not on their website. It came unlocked and unbranded. HTC are currently supplying them with SIM free Desires, however this may well change at some stage.

Okay - That's >12% cheaper than Clove (after tax & shipping)! 350 is the record cheapest for the UK so far.
Here in Luxembourg it is 409€ unlocked. You can buy it at any LuxGSM Shop.
phonemania.co.uk has second cheapest price for htc desire.... including VAT it costs 385 GBP which includes shipping.... just check it out...
I bought my desire from 3 on payg for £349.99
he hehe i bought mine locked to t-mobile BUT
the handset was meant to cost me £124 + £15pm x 18months however they didnt charge me for the phone at all which means my phone costs £270+ costs of unlocking which are about £15 at t-mobile == £285
Italy: 430 is the most cheap I've seen but out of stock, 440 plus shipping can be found I think. shipping costs in Italy are quote steep, around 10-15 €
by the way is the dark grey model nice?

3 now want you to buy a £20 topup with every purchase which makes this £370 now, not so cheap. (just called them as was going to buy one for the missus).

The guy asked me to buy a £10 top-up, which wasn't an issue as I gave this to my brother and he gave me the £10 back! (He's on 3 PAYG). So mine cost me £350
Even still, if you buy the £10-£20 top-up and throw it away, it's still the cheapest you can pick one up!
If you get stuck I'm sure some one on these boards will give you £10 for a £20 top-up.
I bought mine through Orange France, then promptly debranded and unlocked it.
Here is their absurd pricing scheme...
479€ tax included without contract
379€ tax included with a prepaid sim card -- the thing is you can just chunk or sell the simcard the second you get it, they dont even activate it. Just hand it to you and ring you up at the register.
Why anyone would pay 479 is beyond me

If it's a topup that can be applied to any 3 sim then that is different as don't mind that as can sell it. I thought they would want to use it on the one they give you.

They print you off a top-up voucher code. I imagine this can be applied to any 3 (UK) PAYG sim, however I don't think my brother has used it just yet - he's waiting for his current allocation of internet to expire.
in italy 469€ without contract from bow.it
469 € in Belgium too.
Around 500€ here in Norway.

anyone ever bought from Utara Electronic

like the title says has anyone ever bought from this company? im on the fence on buying a galaxy s 2 now or wait to straighten out where to ship one from for under $650.
I would not do it. Every seller on that site will only accept payment with western union.
They also said why theyre so cheep is because they order in bulk so the cost is lower.

[Q] Buying the glide from AT&T store without contract

Is it possible? i have a friend that should be int the sates on October and i want him to buy it from the AT&T store, but can he buy it without any contract or a sim card?
if not is there any other way? i don't want to buy it directly and ship it to my country cos the taxes here will make the purchase unjustified (will add more the 125$ not including the shipment).
Yes, you can buy any phone that AT&T sales in stores without a contact.....except the iPhone. Currently the off contract of the Captivate Glide is $500 though from AT&T
If I helped you, please press the Thanks button

Or via amazonwireless.com
(ps. I hit thanks by accident on your message and i don't know how to remove it!)
I bought mine from Amazon Wireless, as phone only (phone upgrade), $ 399, and then unlock with an on-line service ($ 25).
the problem wit amazonwireless for me is that i need to have a US adress, there is a service for that but the charge an arm and a leg.
plus the taxes to import the phone makes it unwise to buy it online. i need to cheack with the customs again, maybe (if buddha will premit) there wont be import taxes on this phone (VAT will probley will be but its low amount).
I live in Europe and went to US in March and a tried to buy this phone in a AT&T Store and it was not possible. Even to buy the phone without contract they require a contract plan. I did buy the phone thru ebay later. I would suggest you the same if you have access to US address.

Do you mind telling us how much you paid without shipping then how much was shipping. Just to give others an idea on what they can get via eBay?

The phone itself has cost $389,99 and international USPS Express shipping was $44,99. This was quite cheap compared to the $600 (+ shipping) on Amazonwireless back then.
Btw. If any German is interested in the taxes I had to pay: It was about 63€ (~19%)
now days the glide cost 400 dollors via amazonwireless and the shiping in the staes is free.
i think i got lucky cos i have a friend that is gona visit is family in the states sooner then expected and he agreed that i will ship this to his family house, and he will bring it to me when he come back. so i can get away from shiping and taxes via customes.
yeah ebay its the only place to buy a phone anymore, altho some pawnshops will cut good deals. seems 300 for a new or refurbished phone on ebay is the going rate & most folks dont mind shipping outa country.
helpslip is there a problem buying from amazonwireless if i ship it in the US?
i can arrange a frined living there to get my package, dont know if he have AT&T service and actualy don't care only want the phone with no contract.
i wouldnt think so altho i have zero 1st hand experience w/ amazonwireless, if its ran the same way as amazon your purchasing from an independent seller sometimes just a dood w/ a garage no different than ebay & ebay now has 30 day buyer protection so they refund price & shipping (& return shipping if needed) if something doesnt arrive or doesnt work etc... ive even been refunded after more than a year for an item that didnt arrive from australia (to usa) altho i keep in contact w/ seller through ebay so they could verify a problem.
damn i sound like a shill for ebay sorry.
now i got confused. i saw that i can buy from amazon wireless an locked phonw with or without a contract and also from amazon.com itself that its seems sells from independet seller (like the market). whoshould i choose? at least i have some time to think about it cos my firned will be in the states in a month from now.
I bought from Amazon Wireless, which is Amazon direct. They will sell you a locked phone without contract.
When I bought it, it used to be wrongly labled as "unlocked" I contacted them and they offered a full refund. Since I'm in the UAE I didn't want that, just an unlock code, to which they said they can't help me with that. So I ended up unlocking from AmericanUnlocker.
I prefer to buy direct, in this case it would be Amazon Wireless, that'll help with returns.
thank incidentflux you made my choice clearer. i will buy it from amazon wireless direct. also the delivery is free and will take 2-3 days to my friend's door.
unfourtuntly it will take a while until i will get it, hope ics will be out by then and if not the inc3ption rom will be a great choise
Glad to help. Yes shipping is free as well. But the smartphone will still be locked to AT&T by the way, which is an inconvenience.
I also ordered the SanDisk 64GB MicroSDXC

Need help from any Canadians that have ordered anything overseas.

I'm from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and really want to order the 5400mah extended battery by Mugen from Hong Kong. My mom long time ago has ordered a product that was advertised on T.V. but when the item gets to her doorstep, the UPS charges her like $60 on top of the shipping cost and the cost of the item (I have no idea how). Because of this event, I am very very afraid of the same event happening again. If anyone from Canada or specifically Vancouver have ordered anything from overseas like in Hong Kong, please share your experiences with your purchase. Thank you.

They always use the postal service and they always claim a lower amount to avoid duty or tax. In some instances you will need to pay ~$5 for brokerage fee and whatever the duty when customs deem you need to pay
If they use other carrier like UPS, FEDEX etc., they will charge ~$50 just for brokerage fee even when you buy a $10 item

The website says they'll use "First class Airmail," what's the charge on this then? So there's the brokerage fee AND then the duties on top? Thx again.
that has actually never happened to me before. you shouldn't be charged extra if you buy from Mugen and since its airmail there won't be any hidden fees.
From my experience, postal service charges $5 on brokerage fee. However, they don't charge that fee on all shipments. It is like depends on your luck. And that applies to customs duty too. But for item declared/insured under $40, there is definitely NO fee and duty.
Hi I'm from Vancouver as well
so far Ive never encountered any duties or brokerage on items shipped from overseas...even for items $400+
the only time Ive ever had an issue was when i ordered from the states....ordered a cellphone for $200, got dinged $100 for brokerage...never again. I'm assuming your mother ordered from the US as well?
Since then, anybig items, or anything over $100 in value,
i ship to Blaine or Point Roberts using one of their local postal services...
Drive across the border and pick up my package...never hassled for duties....In and out of the states within an hour, really simple
I was charged about $90 duty for the Note but I seldom have to pay any duties for any smaller items. Don't quote the $90 it is my guesstimate from what I remember but it was close to that.
buy via expansys. they ship by private carrier, so you won't get charged any duty fees.
