EC05 Battery Popup - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sprint just replaced a fubared Epic with a new (not refurb!) Epic4G running EC05. I've searched, and can't find a battery full popup suppressor for this release...can someone help me out? I'd like to stay on rooted stock, so a new ROM won't help. Thanks!

Holy zombie threads Batman!
But seriously, if you had just bothered to read the SFR threads FIRST PAGE you'd have seen the link to the flashable .zip for the missing widgets...

One thing to remember is that only"fully loaded"will contain the touch wiz widgets "buddies now being one" since touch wiz is not included in the other
And yeah... The dead threads walk lol

Um so has anyone figured out the topic at hand? Why the pictures are blurry and how to fix?
I am having trouble installing the Buddies Now widget on SyndicateRom Frozen 1.1.0 Fully Loaded as well. I read the release notes for 1.1.0 and now where does it have the link to the flashable missing widgets that you mentioned.
If you could help me with this i would really appreciate this. I am trying to get this phone working for my wife.. Buddies Now is definitely one of her must haves.
Again, Thanks in Advance!!!
You people need to learn to read.... stop being so lazy... it really does get old...
And this isnt directed at the Original posters question. just incase you or who ever "you" is decide to take this the wrong way

Looking for the most stock rom available

I'm looking for the most basic stock 2.2 rom available. I mean really stock Android, no touchWiz or customizations. Removal of Sprint bloatware would be great of course. This is for a Samsung Epic currently running froyo right out of the box. This is for a totally blind user running a screen reader from the Google Eyes Free Project. All of the TouchWiz stuff and customizations make the screen reader perform poorly and it's especially bad with froyo 2.2 due to the TouchWiz stuff.
I'd be grateful if anyone can point me to a rom that would fit the bill. Hopefully, such a thing exists. Thanks for any responses.
Cyanogenmod 7 is the closest to AOSP you can get, but it does have some features not working (yet).
I know its not exactly what you are asking for but I have an idea that is pretty simple to do but you don't have t flash another rom.
I suggest launcher pro from the app market. To all you adw fans out there, I've tried that too but accidentally messed up things in the dock and it wasn't fun fixing them. Anyways, launcher pro could be used as your home replacement. I don't know your level of knowledge so I will explain it. Once it finishes downloading, hit the home key on the bottom four and select as default application then select launcher pro. Now hit menu then settings then general and there's a thing to hide apps you don't want showing in the drawer. Next go into appearance and select dock style for froyo or froyo wide. That is pretty much it. There are a few settings that can be tweaked to turn off the special effects and maximise the drawer's speed in regards to scrolling.
That is my suggestion because it is stable and not necessary to start flashing roms and converting the phone's default file system to ext4, which from my experience was opening a can of worms.
I havent used it, but I believe you're looking for this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922773
It's not stock, it just is themed to look like it.

Why not just root the phone and use root explorer and take out the touch wiz launcher in the stock rom from the system/app directory.
Here is a post here that shows you all the prgrams that you can safely remove:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773142&highlight=safe+apps+remove
Then if you want stock, you can't be more stock than this. Maybe this can help you get to what you want.
I appreciate the responses. Someone suggested simply replacing TW Launcher but that isn't really the issue. Apparently TouchWiz changes more than just the launcher. Some of the apps that don't seem to be really stock Android are messaging, contacts and calendar. TouchWiz also seems to do some other stuff under the hood that gets in the way. Perhaps rooting as someone else suggested and removing the problem apps and replacing them with the stock Android ones might do the trick. Surely there has to be a bare bones rom out there but maybe not for the epic.
I have heard great things about Cyanigen but unfortunately it isn't ready yet.
Syndicaterom Frozen is very barebones and quick. It is the cleanest stable rom.

2nd on srf.
Saying that you were looking for a stock rom is throwing everyone off (or at least me). Stock means you want it like it came factory from Sprint, with all the bloat and garbage attached.

Sorry, didn't mean to throw anyone off. By stock what I mean is Android stock, not Samsung stock. Plain vanilla like you might find on a Nexus 1. No bloatware, no customized UI like TouchWiz. Hope that clarifies it. Thanks.

The term for plain vanilla is AOSP, the ONLY AOSP Rom for the Epic is Cyanogenmod.

063_XOBX,
Thanks for the correct term. I see now what I'm looking for is Android Open Source Project (ASOP). It looks like CyanigenMod is the only way to go. I wish it was finished. The plan is to work on it this saturday so we may wind up trying Syndicate Mod Frozen to see how that goes and eventually flash CyanigenMod. I'm really anxious for Cyanigen to be completed. Thanks for clearing this up for me.

[Q] Can't access CWD

So I phoned my mother telling her she was right and that I was special...
Anywho.
I have Syndicate ROM Frozen 1.2 on my Epic. Well, I took out the battery because I thought my phone had frozen a while back and now I can't see the boot logo, but once it's done turning on all I had to do is to slide out the keyboard and the phone shows the home screen and all is well. Well because of this "blackout" during inital boot, I can't access CWD since I can't see the options (I want to install a theme). The closest related thing I did find was here, but it's solved in a way that I currently can't afford (that's right, I'm poor). So the question is:
What can I do to try and fix this?
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Best bet would be to Odin or Heimdall in stock and start from there. Sounds like either the param.ifs or bootloaders are damaged. The 2nd post tells you about Heimdall and doing just param.ifs, boot.bin and sbl.bin if you choose:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052813
But not knowing what else is damaged maybe a full Odin tar would be best.
Awesome, thank you. It did the trick

ROM questions

I've tried to read through the ROM's threads but I was wondering... Which ROM's are yall running that will let you change/tweak the notification toggles (like 4g, bluetooth, rotation, etc)? That's the main thing I'm looking for in a ROM.. I found it listed in TNz blended but couldn't find any others... thanks
Calkulin v2.8.1 EL29 base. Not sure about the others. Been a fan of calks work since I had my moment on sdx developers.

ya know, i may be mistaken on this one. i cant change mine either. if you swipe it left/right, itll move, but you cant remove/change their position. i use all of em, so i guess its been a non issue for me. sorry for the bad info, dood.
is there no quick settings in your app drawer? sorry I havent been on calks in a while. if there is you can from there.
Maddoggins does, mine and I think the xperia one may too...
Blah.. i just went back to stock for now... the stability, battery life and speed on stock TW are good enough to make up for not having a few little tweaks...

Pure android theme/rom/tweak? (not w/ sprint ID)

Hey all, this is one of my first post here, but I have been a user since the original Moto Droid. Before asking any questions I wanted to thank EVERYONE here who has helped me & the Mods for keeping this place so neat and clean!
Does anyone know of a way to get the pure android experience on this phone? (i.e. sms, dialer, icons, lock screen, etc) Like what comes on the new Galaxy Nexus!?
Please forgive me if this has been addressed already, I couldn't find anything with any solutions or definite answers.
Thanks!

Your answer is
AOKP
CM9
Codename
Those are as stock they can get
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Yup, or Codename, they are based off Android Open Source Project but have a few tweaks and tons of settings to play with.
Thanks for the fast replies! Clicked the button for you both.
I was hoping for a way to just strip it like you could senseUI on the Evo.

There used to be some bare roms, but now now with ICS going on, it seems gingerbread roms are going away.

Awesome, I will wait a while and see what happens. I'm fairly please to be stuck with this theme if I'm forced to have one.
Running Caulkins v3 now for optimized battery.
Thanks everyone for your help and replies!
I found something that I am 100% happy with and thought I would share for others.
I used Caulkins Rom found here ~~> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332837
And the ACS ICS theme found here ~~>
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322272&highlight=pure+android
And came up with a very fast, battery saving, pure(ish) android experience.
