haven't heard of anything man... im on Sprint too, anxious to see what next gen devices we get.

Nothing new for this year.

Too bad whatever phone they do get will be crippled by the extremely slow network. Its soo terrible trying to do anything on it before 2am. I'm cancelling my contract with them this week and going to t-mobile. I've had enough.

T mobile is no better. I've actually had a better experience with Sprint

Look in a web search there's millions of complaints of slow speeds with sprint, especially on their forums. Can't say the same for Tmobile it was declared the 2nd fastest network by PCMag only being beaten by VZs 4G LTe.

Well hopefully I can get the Nokia ace on tmobile

Yeah, I'd disagree with that... T-Mobile has been waaaaay better in regards to Sprint in my area at least. I tether my Sprint iPhone to my T-Mobile Android phone when I want good speeds, lol!

http://www.sprintfeed.com/2011/12/r...t-three-windows-phones-in-first-half-of-2012/
This is the only rumor I know saying sprint will get new windows phone.

Sprint is so busy trying to hang from the ball sack of the iPhone; for some reason they went the route of Verizon with promoting their Android phones and now iPhone, like Verizon they only have one Windows Phone and don't promote it much. WTF is next? Sprint will start trying to ditch Windows Phone?

Tmobile may work good in your area. But where i olive its terrible and many other people in my area agree. But it has to be the worst cell phone provider in my area that I've experience.

I want a Windows Phone bad, but the arrive has been out to long and is the only option available on sprint. I really hope that some new windows phones come to sprint soon. Would love to see Nokia 900 come to sprint.

Yeah I'm really hoping Sprint gets a new windows phone.Hopefully it wont just be one with 1GHZ Process(like the radar) and will be 1.4ghz or 1.5ghz.

I've been sitting on a upgrade since April of 2011. All I want is either a 4" plus Samsung or HTC phone and I will sign a new contract on the first day.

Somehow, I got got the itchy feeling that more than one new Windows Phones are coming to Sprint.

I would not sleep on the Arrive if you can pick one up for a good price like I did on EBay. I am one that started with the first iPhone when it came out and eventually made my to Android and swore by it ever since. I currently have the Motorola Photon 4G but was really interested in taking a Windows 7 phone for a spin so I picked up the Arrive. Man the Arrive is faster than my Photon. Now yes I do not get 4G with the Arrive but I can barely get 4G anyway. These Mango phones are awesome. It also came down to since someone brought up age that I really needed workwise to stop dicking around with gaming ability and the number of apps available (I can use my Asus TF for that ) and look at smartphone functionality. If your in business like myself the Windows phone is the way to go and the HTC Arrive is a damn good phone for now. You can find them off contract for great prices to get you by until the new hardware hits the street.

I love my Arrive so much that I picked up one for my girlfriend for a penny during the holiday sales and got a cheap used one from eBay with a bad ESN so my daughter could use it as an over-glorified Zune. With that being said, I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade if a newer unit was released with a larger screen and more storage. I could care less about processor speed since WP7 seems to run equally well on all current hardware.

Yeah I also have the HTC Arrive(Got it in April) and love the phone so much. But I have a upgrade in March 2012 and really want a window phone with more storage(I also use my htc arrive as a zune player and with only have about 6gb left).

I have the arrive as well, I love the phone other than a few bugs that it has.
I really want something thinner, with a bigger screen and no keyboard. The on screen keyboard works great.

I actually love that the Arrive has a keyboard. The perfect windows phone for me would be a 4 inch screen with a full qwerty keyboard.Basically a windows phone version of the Samsung Captivate Glide.

Not sure if I should buy the Epic Touch.

I'm really on the fence when it comes to buying this. On the one hand it's seems like a really great phone with really great specs. I would be coming from the Samsung Epic.
On the other hand I'm really puzzled by how this phone is being released. Unlike the Evo,Epic and Nexus there is really a lukewarm reception as far as the retailers go. We're at launch day and places like Best buy, Radio shack are not really showing much interest.
The phone was released in Europe 10 months ago and seems like the US retailers are treating it as such. The low price $99 from Walmarts to the lackluster offerings from the retailers.
With the changes Sprint has made canceling Premier cutting the return time from 30 to 14 days and increasing the ETF. I wondering if they are just trying to get people to use their upgrade on what they consider a lesser/cheaper phone. So less people will use it on the Nexus Prime,Iphone 5.
I would really appreciate people opinions on this. I have my upgrade and cash in hand today. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I'm right there with you. I've had my upgrade for a while and have just been waiting. I am honestly now waiting for the iPhone 5 specs to be released. Depending on how it looks I will buy it or the epic touch. I still prefer android but I like trying all os's. As far as the prime goes..I don't think sprint will get it in 2011

If Sprint doesn't get the Prime this year then I'm afraid I'll have to ditch my Nexus S and get the Epic Touch. I just hope it gets Cyanogen Mod
OMG! It is hard to make decision about this E4GT, I know it has the best camera and high resolution as far as I know. I am using Photon 4G, it is great phone as well with dual networks (world phone), it is convenient when you step out from USA, you just pop in pre-paid gsm card, then you can connect the world. Gee, the hardest decision that I need to make. Any thoughts?
I am truely upset about how Sprint went about releasing this phone. I was able to preorder the EVO 3D a month before it was available at Bestbuy. Now, Bestbuy doesn't even know what the Epic Touch is. And it's release day....

I am kind of with you. I want the prime so I am waiting at least a few weeks I think to see.
Does anyone know if I will be able to get the phone at a discount price, since I'm not eligible yet till 3/23/2012. The phone plan is 3 Evo's and another cheap phone that does have an upgrade option. I want to get this phone, but I'm also interested in seeing the iphone 5
I just got it about 20 minutes ago and couldn't be happier. Coming from the evo 4g, the difference is night and day. You can natively ditch any bloatware. So much faster and lighter. I absolutely love this phone...and highly recommend it.
Btw, and im not sure how, but my gf and I both upgraded our phones on the same account and it only cost us $200 combined. We both sold back our evo's for $88 each. This was all done throu a sprint store...Brent, if you happen to read this THANKS BRO!!!
Finally, they confirmed that the nexus prime will be a verizon only phone. Not sure if that is true or not so you can take that for what you will.

Verizon has exclusivity for the nexus prime but no one knows for how long. It's gonna have to be released on the other carriers but may not for some time.
Also, I just got back from my Sprint store where I played with the E4GT and it is simply mind blasting! The screen is so beautiful..my NS4G screen was dwarfed next to it...and of course the employees had downloaded all the benchmark apps. Quadrant was 3400 I am really having trouble fighting off the urges to get this phone...screw the iphone 5, lol
This phone is simply fantastic. So very glad I got it.
Sent from my Epic 4g Touch
I bit the bullet and got it!! haha well at least i have 2 weeks to decide to keep it. hopefully by then the iphone 5 will be announced and unless it is mind blowing, ill keep E4GT
I am in the same boat as the OP, I am upgrade eligible but don't want to jump in because of the next few phone announcements. I am also puzzled about how hush hush this release is, makes it seem like the phone is not important.
I was playing around with it in the Sprint store today and it is an absolutely beautiful phone. I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I love that device, hopefully the phone has good battery life as well. The only thing I was not sure about was how large the phone is, may not be so comfy in your jeans.

E4gt future proof

So I'm thinking of getting this phone with my soon-to-expire premier program upgrade (especially since it looks like we wont see galaxy nexus before the end of december), and I want to be sure this thing will stay satisfying for two years.
Primarily, I want to avoid issues the epic 4g has: limited (although what there is is extremely dedicated) dev support and lack of cm/miui that keeps the phone stuck at outdated os iterations (which is mostly sammy's fault anyway).
What im asking is, is this phone a dev darling and do they promise to love it for ever, even after samsung abandons it in 8 months?

There is no such thing on the market. Once this phone stops getting Android updates, the community will have no choice but to dump it for the next newest. It'll probably be able to drive your car, have sex with your wife, and make banana pancakes. How will you be able to coerce a developer away from such a dream phone when all you have to offer him/her is a beat up old 2011 E4GT to work on? You just have to let nature take it's course. Buy the phone for what it does now or always ask that same question: "Should I wait for the next one or get this one now?"
which ROM makes Banana Pancakes?
Mine only makes Buttermilk.....
Premier program upgrade expires 12/31/12 you have a good year and two months to make a decision.

Your Premier upgrade doesn't expire in December. You have all of 2012 to use it.
If you were thinking you could have gotten one additional 11-12mo upgrade cycle, that would have needed to be done by 10/1/2011.
When it comes to electronics, nothing is future proof!
The SGS2 is a great phone today and while it might not be the top of the line in a few months it will still be able to handle it's own.
There is one thing I am jealous of with the Galaxy Nexus, and that is the HD screen. If the SGS2 would have had an HD screen, it would be right up there with the GN. I do not count ICS because the SGS2 will eventually get it. If the GN only had a qhd screen I don't think I would care as much....Seems almost like qhd screens didn't stay around as the top dog for to long. Guess the lower end devices will be going qhd while top end goes 720p to compete.
The point is well taken that there's no such thing as a future-proofe phone. I should have qualified that I am asking if this phone appears likely to enjoy EVO or HD2-like developer love. I was spoiled with cm-support on the G1 and I want to recapture those possbilities with my next phone.
I was on the phone with Sprint for an hour and a half talking about my upgrade status and they repeatedly told me it would expire on Dec 31, 2011. I guess I'll call again and ask again. I don't know what to trust anymore. If I get another year I'll be extatic.

Add ICS and a 720P screen to our SGS2 and you have yourself a phone that is equal to or better then the GN. We will get ICS whether it be official or not, so that will really even the playing field. So our phone is future proof until you start seeing quad core phones come out and well as Sprint LTE phones. But I would say you are good for at least the next year to year and half with the SGS2.
When the specs for the SGS3 get dropped, I am betting that will be a game changer and Samsungs flagship phone, not the Nexus.

IMO, dual core SOCs and 1GB RAM are the major milestone for smartphones. Quad cores will improve benchmarks, but probably not much else. Cutting edge OS is what's important to me now, which the GN covers nicely

Not quite. We don't have NFC or a barometer, either. The lack of NFC means we can't use Google Wallet or Beam... ever, and the barometer means slower GPS locks and we can't use any other aps that take advantage of it.
I don't quite understand why Sprint had Samsung remove the NFC chip... it's the only GS2 variant that doesn't have one, and aside from LTE, that's the newest feature everyone is jumping on lately.
This phone will have a lot of life in it, but it's not future proof.
The nexus has a cheap pentile display. Go with the epic touch you won't regret it. And it has a sa+ display!

I really enjoyed the support out there for my EVO 4G, and was a little disappointed at the lack of options out there right now for my shiney new E4GT (not complaining, stating a fact, back off flamers)
However, read through the forums for the other variations of the SGS2 and you can see it's out there for them. I just think Sprints baby is a little late to the party, but is going to get it's fair share of cake. Read through some of the Developer posts and there is news popping up fairly regularly about test builds of CM7 and MIUI...
I am getting closer and closer to getting this. I just know a week after I do the galaxy nexus will be announced for sprint.

I'll be honest, this is my first android phone (epic touch 4g), but I have been tinkering with anything that draws power since I was a little guy ripping apart old stereo receivers and what not! Sure, something with some more bang is bound to come out in the next few months or so; but in my opinion, a device with the capabilities exhibited by this phone are not going to be overlooked anytime soon! Some people may dump the phone and grab whatever is better on the market at that time, but dev is not going to halt for this phone anytime soon as far as I can tell. Even before getting this phone I've done lots of research on android phones and spoken to friends that have owned such, and this is phone definitely marks a milestone in my opinion. Sure it has its bugs, I get LoS once a week or so; but despite its flaws (which will be resolved by the manufacturer or else!) it is a great phone and will serve any user well for YEARS! Hell, I had a Blackberry 8330 for a few years, wasn't anything special by any means at all but with some TLC and mods it was a great phone for as long as I had it. The ET4G should last a Looooooong time...
Edit: I also wanted to say, to those who were saying things about the Galaxy Nexus coming out for Sprint. Sure you may be able to the phone with Sprint in the very near future, but is it not quite similar to the ET4G? Really I guess it depends on preference and such. From what I've read and heard, though...the phones are not THAT much different so I guess whatever feel you like best is what you should get! Cheers!

Want to buy a window 7 phone(tmobile)

I need help picking, I love the radar 4g and the lumia 710 but they don't support micro SD card!(8g of memory won't work for me). Im thinking about getting the dvp(dell venue pro) but I need some window phone owner input!.
Don't want to purchase an unlock phone due to me not being able to use 3G or 4G.
I will be purchasing this phone second hand due to the fact window 8 phone around the corner just want to spend sometime with a window phone to see how it goes! Thanks

There's a good thread here that is worth reading.
If you decide to get a DVP, make sure you are familiar with the process before changing the micro SD card - there are lots of threads about this topic on the DVP forum. You can expand the capacity to 32GB by replacing the micro SD card.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=799
There are different versions of the DVP for AT&T and T-Mobile. It may not matter as much if you can't use 3G but worth mentioning.
The DVP was my second wp7 device and after they fixed all of the bugs was a major love affair. Had Nokia not brought such outstanding offerings to the table, I'd still be using the DVP, that thing was a beautiful tank.
Look on Craigslist for an HD7...you can upgrade to 32GB and it has the latest software...unless T-Mo comes out with something slick, I'll be rocking this for quite a while!
Will be looking into both device. Anyone else want to put in there two cents?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
My vote goes to the DVP. I get the privilege of using a lot of devices, and after Mango the DVP is still my favourite WP7 device. It's heavy and the camera is pretty mediocre, but it oozes quality and is the only portrait QWERTY slider available. Helps that the keyboard is awesome, too!
Also, they're very cheap these days. Especially the T-Mobile banded ones.
The DVP looks really boss. I didn't get one basically because I was unsure about the presence of the Italian locale and the 256mbs of RAM got me worried. Also, I didn't really rely on Dell's commitment to WP7, so I was unsure about the update pattern. The 710 is a good and reliable phone too, it has Nokia goods on board and the screen is actually ok. The design is a little uninspiring tho. Just personal opinion, my gf actually likes it better than my 800, she finds it too squared 0.o

IMHO they use it only because they are very accustomed to it. Last summer I tried using a 9780 for a few days and coming from a Desire I found it the most painful phone experience I ever had. The interface is unintuitive as hell, you need to hit the keys dozens of times just to do things that can be done in a couple of taps even on the worse Symbian device. The browser is pathetic, everything keeps lagging and freezing 24/7 and there are no decent apps at all. Also, if you lack BIS and BES this phone is as good as a 3310. Lame, horrid experience. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, it's a nightmare. Maybe the newer phones (like the 9900) are better, but forget about having any support: they won't be updated to BBOS10, and probably RIM will manage to fail even before the end of 2012.

The HD7 is a solid phone,I've been rocking it since November. Only problem I have with it is if I'm in my house or bedroom especially when trying to stream something, if I put my hand anywhere near the base my connection drops to 2G. Probably has something to do with the trees around my brick house or the poor antenna in the phone.

Yes, of course, assuming you don't buy one that is SIM-locked to a different carrier for some reason.
Note that if you want lots of hacks, the Venue Pro is not a good choice. As far as I know, we haven't even managed to interop-unlock it yet. The HD7 (and most other gen1 phones, but not the Venue Pro) can use custom ROMs and WP7 Root Tools.

[Q] Why isn't this phone taking off?

New to the whole android platform (addicted after buying nexus 7). I have a severely crippled AT&T iphone 4 (cracked screen, no wifi or gps). Looking between the s3/optimus g or nexus 4. This phone has the best specs on the market, possibly the best screen along with LTE and expandable memory. The nexus 4 section has almost 4 times as many posts as this. Why isn't this phone hyped up? People are still saying the s3 is a better phone than this. Is LG really that bad? I tested this phone out at best buy twice, it is awesome however the camera isn't all that amazing to me (will try again). I would like an unlocked boot-loader (who wouldn't) just for root access for a few of my apps and tethering... Otterbox already has a case for it I am ready to buy. However it seems this phone will be swept under the rug. I don't want to invest two years for a phone that has no support.
Am I the only one?
stigma.... Most at&t reps wouldn't have a clue if you walked into the store and asked what is the fastest phone you have... which runs Krait... What are MHL capable. sg3, pantech breeze, and Iphone, note, I those are the phones they keep selling.... It's gonna take some time.
LGOG Bam!
The previous user nailed it. If the s3 sells more, reps will push it even nor because it's a safe bet. It's why a lot of people have a hard time switching from iOS to Android. Sells people sell it and almost everyone has one.
It's hard to steer people in a new direction even I'd there is a better product sometimes. That's just capitalism for you. Although I wish this phone got more attention.. If it received half the affection the s3 gets, lg may listen to the petitions or we would have more devs working on the bootloader.

While I agree, if the phone is a big seller it will get more attention/support/updates/accessories.

More popularity means more devs trying to crack the bootloader. It also means more petitions signed to get the bootloader unlocked. I'd say it's ask pretty important.

Not everyone cares about it getting unlocked. I don't. Its a good phone without that. Yes it can be better but I know more people that don't care about rooting then I do that care. I think people are missing out on a great phone just because its locked down. I understand why a lot of people want it unlock but that will never choose my phone for me. It will be unlocked very soon. Its almost there now. I happy that it is but at the same time I don't care. Its the fastest phone I've ever owned whether it popular or not. But will more cases come out for it if it gets unlocked ? LG has to prove themselves first then the rest will come. Samsung was in the same boat for awhile, now look at them.

I hate to sound like a spoil sport, but I've been down this road before with people wanting petitions for various reasons be it to unlock bout loaders, release ril or release certain drivers that would make Dev support better. Unfortunately it always fails. I hope the best for anybody that try's to promote development within the community, but my advice to anybody that Dev support is of highest importance is to either get a phone that is already well established within the community or get a nexus device. This is why I got a nexus device and I'm glad I did. Best move I ever made.
Once again Best of luck to anyone who promotes development in the community as that's what this is all about!
Y'all are right I work from AT&T and I see iPhone users return the S3 all the time simply because it's not the iPhone they recognize its capable of doing the same things but are not willing to adapt to the change... I've had the optimus and even when telling people it's better than the S3 they know about the S3 and rather take the sage route than try the cool phone I have... I will say however most of my co-workers are avid iPhone junkies and will reuse to believe anything is better than the iPhone... and their right from a usability stand point but from a functionality stand point android trumps every time... but it's all abt what people see on tv and hear abt from peers

Giant, I will refer you to the Amaze 4g forum, where after a barrage of inquiries and a petition, HTC finally released the WIFI / BT chipset drivers. MOST times it fails, but it can happen.
Now, to the question at hand. Not only is it correct that AT&T store folks by and large haven't a clue, but you'll find a good majority on this type of site treat anything put out by LG with extreme caution. Their support is miserable when it comes to software updates AND release of drivers etc... Many of us are hopeful, because of the N4 being an LG product on some level, that they'll wake up and smell the coffee, but I am not holding my breath.
It is a great handset, but I am a flash addict, and I've been down this road before. I still own a G2x that I've passed on to my daughter.
I have been debating whether to get the Nexus 4 16 gb ($359 CDN + $20 shipping + 5% tax = $400) or go with the Rogers Optimus G which is being offered $129 ($135 with tax) on a 3 year contract. That is a huge price difference.
The risk with choosing the Optimus G is that it never gets its bootloader unlocked and I'll always be stuck with an outdated, limited version of Android.
For this reason I've decided to go with the Nexus 4 even though the initial price is higher. If the Optimus G gets unlocked I can always sell the Nexus and recoup most of the expense. If the Optimus never gets unlocked, I'll be satisfied with my Nexus purchase and I'll even be able to sell it in a year when the next Nexus phone is released.

I agree. Lack of LTE is what killed the N4 for me and pushed me to the LGOG. If the OG bootloader never gets unlocked and Google get their wits about them and releases an LTE N4 in the future, I'd be happy to switch.

Buy vzw HTC ONE now or wait for the nexus 5?

Hey all-
I am in the middle of a dilemma, I currently own a VZW galaxy nexus and it is on its last leg. The battery is shot, takes forever to connect calls, and is slow. I have been trying to baby it till the nexus 5 comes out but it is so annoying using a phone that is slow. I have been looking into the HTC one (my previous phone was the HTC incredible and I loved it). But I cant decide if I should try and wait for the N5? I understand that the HTC One as of now cannot achieve S-off/Root, but I am assuming it is only a matter of time till developers crack it.(thank you to all the great developors on XDA!) so what would you do in my situation? Wait for the N5 or go with the One?
I am really drawn to the one for the metal body and the new sense seems pretty nice, IMHO the S4 is to gimmiky.

Who's to say that the Nexus 5 is coming to Verizon unless you plan on switching carriers.. You weren't really clear on that aspect. There is a great deal of new devices that are coming out soon which should make for an exciting fall and Q4..
Also on a side note never buy a device with the assumption that the developer community will unlock, root, s-off the device you plan to buy. With devices coming out so frequently and OEMs becoming smarter with the way they are locking down their devices it's a game of cat and mouse or hit or miss if you will......
I recently purchased the HTC One just because it's an amazing device, that is with the hopes the the real deal hackers crack the bootloader to achieve s-off, unlock, root etc...
Right now I am in the same boat. I have waited this long what's another month or two to see what the Nexus 5 has in store?
Yes it may mean changing carriers which sucks but Verizon has done everything to sabotage the htc one (4 months late, no black model, quickly locking it down) that they no longer deserve my business...
So I will wait to see what the fall phones bring before making a decision at this point.
As soon as you wait for one device to arrive, another ridiculous phone is right around the corner. It's an endless cycle.
I was in the same boat. HTC Incredible > Galaxy Nexus > ? I considered the Nexus 5 but between the solid rumors it is going to be an LG (my least favorite oem) and the fact VZW let the N4 pass it by I opted to go with the HTC One.
Got it day 2 expecting to unlock it. No such luck but not having root after coming from a Gnex has not been a big deal. The HTC One is sooo awesome compared to the Gnex. The only things I miss from root/roms is long press back button kill (more of a habit than an issue), some of the Sense screens (Like the battery usage screen). They are such picky things I have no regrets moving to the One.
Did I mention that while my Gnex needed 1 to 2 charges throughout the day to make it to bedtime but the one can stay off the charger and with similar usage has 40% left. With heavy usage I got to 14% once after 16 hours on battery. Battery and sluggishness drove me to a new phone and I am glad it was the HTC One.
I agree with all of you, however I plan on staying with vzw.... What phones other than the n5 are coming out? There is the new lg buy I cannot stand the volume rocker on the back....is there any other phones that have been confirmed to be with big red?

Nothing as compelling as the HTC One ....yet.

Yeah I would assume the Note 3 would most likely come to Verizon as well being that it is the primary and most popular phablet to date..
Nexus 5 definitely won't show up on Verizon. The only other great phone left this year on Verizon will likely be the G2. That looks to be even more powerful than the HTC One and a larger screen. I don't care for it because its LG and their android skin is horrendous. I also could never get a plastic phone after having an HTC One. Its your call though of course!
I've sort of stopped playing the "should I get it or wait?" game because the smartphone market has just become so insane. Once you get a phone, a newer, better one is right around the corner. I got the HTC One knowing the bootloader got locked up, and I'm really enjoying it...even stock it's nice. I mean, I can't wait to put other roms on it, but nevertheless, it's awesome.
I also had a similar smartphone trajectory. OG Droid -> DInc-> GNex
In April I bought the S4, but really wanted The One. So last week I sold my s4 on craigslist and bought The One. It is fantastic as is. My contract is finally up in December, and coincidentally my discount expired this month. So if the N5 comes out and looks substantially better than The One, I will sell The One on swappa or craigslist or ebay. My point is go ahead and buy the phone, if you want something newer in the future you can always sell it and get another phone, though you may take a small loss. The One is amazing and although 6 months old I can hardly believe it will feel "outdated" in even a year....
encyvrs providence
I would stop waiting and just get the one. I came from the GNexus and the one is better in every way. faster, better screen, better battery, better speakers and sound etc.
My thought is that if there is a phone out I want I'll get it vs waiting. If you decide to wait for the next best thing you'll never get a phone. They come out so fast now.

Thanks for all of your responses! I think I am going to go ahead and get the one! I am in the design industry and I have been waiting for a beautiful android and the one is it! Going out this week and getting it,
The N5 will most likely not be anywhere near Verizon/Sprint so might as well get a One.

I would get a one now if it has the nokia microphones and I think they still carry this feature. One HTC runs out of stock for these you probably won't see them in any other device in the future other than windows phones since microsoft is buying nokia. I listened to a few comparison videos on youtube and those microphones make a huge difference in recording capability. Htc ones with these mics will probably have high resale value later on down the road.

Microsoft isn't buying Nokia from any source I've read... In fact from what I understand nokie is thinking of backing out of the partnership they currently have...

I bought the one...it was nice. I returned it and am waiting for the Moto X to hit retail stores so I can Czech it out. I like as stock of an Android experience as possible, and the X looks like the best choice in that dept.
With the One, the build is awesome, the screen is great and the front facing speakers are amazing. The overlay I didn't care for (icons still remind me of my 2.2 Thunderbolt) and I thought the camera was terrible (even in direct comparison to my aging S3).
But, I think right now it's at least in the top 2 phones on Verizon, and I don't think you can go wrong with it.
