Root Browser (great alternative to Root Explorer) - Epic 4G Apps

I just downloaded this app (Root Browser) from the android market and it's way better than root explorer imo...i have used root explorer since I got a samsung moment (first android phone) last year and this is the only file explorer to trump it...it has a better ui and more options to mess with...
check it out....
https://market.android.com/details?...xLDEsImNvbS5qcnVtbXkucm9vdC5icm93c2VyZnJlZSJd
p.s. has ads in the lite version but i bought a donate version to support the developer ($0.99)..

I like my root explorer more

I use ES File Explorer for my root solutions.

I also use ES. Free, nice interface and not an issue to date.

es file explorer and root app remover to get rid of bloat

Thank's good work!

If ya think the Root Browser from that Dev is good, then check the full app known as ROM Toolbox; I've had the paid version installed on all my devices for over a year and the app keeps getting better, and it has Root Browser with it, best money I've invested in the market place.

He's right. ROM toolbox is a great app. Ot has many great features. A must have on your rooted phone
I finally created an xda account

I prefer root explorer although root browser is free.

explorer apks
can you please post links from non-market sites? thank you
Root Explorer told me my phone should be true rooted ... idk what that means
ES File Explorer says i do not have root permissions
Root Check Says i have SU and su binary installed and i have rooted my phone
hex editor also says i have root access ..... this is just so confusing

After testing some apk was mentioned here, I think "Root Explorer" is the better choice atm.

What's the best paid root apps

I'm looking at buying setcpu and rom manager pro. Just wanting to see what other paid root apps others are buying. Also what does rom manager pro have over the free version? Does Setcpu play well with z Roms, like NisP's business Rom?

Root explorer!
Titanium backup can also be useful.

As far as I know, setcpu plays nice with all roms except for cm7 (has setcpu features built in). It's free for xda users, but you're encouraged to donate to the developer by purchasing it via android market. I love rom manager. It was nice discovering new roms and having it do the work of booting into recovery, backing up current rom, and flashing new rom automatically. The paid versions allow you to flash test builds like nightly builds. It also will let you know if there is an update to your rom.
I also like adfree android, but i believe that's free. It gets rid of ads in free apps, but keep in mind the ads usually allow the developer to release those apps for free.
xda link for setcpu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419.
I'm fairly new at this and usually stay silent, but I thought I could contribute and help someone else out for a change.

Agreed, especially if you are testing out different roms. I have purchased both, but don't use either because I am content with cm7 for now.
Thanks for the help. I do have root explorer and titanium pro, really like both of those. I'll give setcpu a try
I don't know why I didn't mention it, but kernel manager pro is good too. It gives you various kernel options for your rom. I don't know the difference between the free and pro versions, but you can try out free version and then upgrade.

Unfortunately, the FBI seems to like Snappzmarket too. Or rather, not like.
System App Mover, AdFree, Apex Launcher, LBE Privacy Guard, Root Explorer, Titanium Backkup, that´s all for now.
I would suggest using the following apps, some depend on what rom/firmware your using.
*** apps ***
Titanium Backup
Root uninstaller
SD Maid
System Tuner
ES File Manager (or any file manager that allows you root access.)
Adb wireless
App2Rom
Avast! Mobile Security
Go Backup
Root booter (paid for app)
Sqlite installer for root
Busy box
Super SU
*** ROM Specific ***
Rom toolbox pro (has a lite version but pro paid is much better!)
ROM Manager premium
Boot logo manager
And all these apps have others below on play store, bottom of each respective app that others either have installed or users also viewed catagories..

Why are some of my Apps unable to gain root access?

I am running AOKP JB B1, just like suddenly, some of my Apps like DX tool box and DX power booster can't gain root access anymore, but other apps like root explorer work fine, I tried to update supersu and binary, no good.
Then I thought maybe I screw up the system because lots kernel flashed, so I just reflash AOKP JB B1 with full wipe , but still no good...
Could it be application compatibility problem or something wrong at my end?

Just a guess but some apps look for Superuser.apk to confirm root access. If your ROM has SuperSU.apk as SuperSU.apk that could be the issue. When I flash a ROM with SuperSU I always change the name to Superuser.apk.

a. update your busybox, use stericsons busybox updater from the play market. open the app, update busybox.
b. open your superuser or supersu app and make sure that your binaries are updated and that root is enabled. superuser has known issues with jelly bean.
c. if aokp has an optional root or no choice, enable root.

all other apps like ROOT EXPLORER , TRITIUM BACK UP, FRANCO KERNEL UPDATER, PGM2 and something more were able to gain access to root , only these 2 can't

Here are mine...not many of them but all indispensable to me
Titanium Backup

WiFi Tether
Titanium

I had battery calibration but i was told by another user that is not good to have for some reason that i forgot and he was told that by an official google developer. i guess the better option would be to let your battery completely drain and then re charge it fully and not wipe battery stats
Superuser/SuperSU - there is no root without these.
Titanium Backup - Probably the second best root app in existence. Good for so many reasons; notice how everyone mentioned it?
Root Explorer - Awesome.
Mobile ODIN - Replaces Rom Manager/GooManager. Just no reason to use them, IMO. Between CWM/TWRP and Mobile ODIN, your flashing needs are covered. Learn how to do things the manual way, then play with automated tools.
Terminal Emulator - CM10 comes with this. Great power tool.
CatLog - on-device logcat management. You can use ADB, but this is quicker.
SetCPU - if you want to OC/UV.
SD Maid - CCleaner for Android.
BusyBox - Most custom roms come with it (at least the useful binaries). Any custom ROM that doesn't come with BusyBox isn't worth your time (unless it's stock-rooted, but you use those for a different reason).
Triangle Away gets an honorable mention.
The you need to have root tethering apps

Flashable zip of root explorer

So most roms don't come with a file manager pre installed and I wanted to make a Flashable zip of root explorer how would I go about doing that?
I know that there is a Flashable template in the development section but that is for themes how do I modify it for this purpose?
Seeing how root explorer is a paid app I dont think the developer would appreciate that just my 2 cents

I doubt very much that even 25% of the people who have that app have actually paid for it but ultimately youre right.
Forget root explorer how would I do it for a free file explorer?
