ive been using opera for the past couple months and im loving it! soo silky smooth with my rom and kernel that i have!
Dolphin HD ... seems to work well enough, renders some pages that stymie the stock browser.
Opera ever since the whole dolphin privacy thing. And I agree, it's sick.
Dolphin HD i like viewing the page in full.
Maxthon Mobile Browser.

This phone is a BEAST!
I've used Opera on my computers for a while now, but the mobile version I've been using less and less. Mainly because it can't do certain things that the stock browser can do, like calling a phone number on a webpage.

Boat Mini for me. Dolphin *used* to be good, and I was sort of underwhelmed by Firefox, Opera, Skyfire, and Bolt. Boat Mini - good speed, cache to SD, clear on exit, etc...in other words, has some of the nice features of Dolphin before it started to suck.

mmh interesting, ima give firefox a run, i wish we could get something like google chrome, thats what i use on my macbook pro =D
I used to use Dolphin a lot, but am really digging Miren Browser for the heavy lifting now.

Miren is awesome. I just wish you could theme it. I hate the blue, but it's worth it. I even found a black hacked one online. I wish google would man up and release a full featured and syncing mobile chrome. Just my two pennies.

Miren is indeed very nice, but dolphin hd seems a bit more refined/robust. Copying/selecting text is much easier too. For pure speed though, I think miren has just about everything beat.
+1 for miren. i've downloaded every browser to get a feel for the differences and its real close between miren and dolphin but i like the overall user friendlyness of miren's interface

I still like skyfire for the pop out video window but miren looks the cleanest
I've tried them all and my favorite is Miren.
Seeing we have many different browser users here. What browser is the closest to duplicating a desktop browser UI? I ask because when coupled with HDMI mirroring most browsers take up way too much screen space. I've attached a pic of what I have now but am looking for something better.

with the right settings, miren is full screen with a few transparent looking buttons. just go to the top of a page and swipe up to get full menu bars and stuff. helpful.
I honestly don't think the stock browser is half bad.
I liked Dolphin when I tried it, but one reason I didn't stick with it is that I really like the bookmarks widgets in Sense and LauncherPro. I know they're adding features like folders in their own bookmark implementation, and that is nice, but I wish they'd give an option to turn that off in favor of the built in bookmarks database if we want. That's not the only reason I didn't stick with it though -- I just didn't see anything wrong with the stock browser. Maybe I should give it another shot.

I use skyfire 4.0 , just because it is straight forward
Others like Dolphin HD. personally i dont as when you scroll left or right a menu pops up - could be deactivated i guess !!. Dolphin also has gestures which is a great feature

I have used opera mini and didn't like it, skyfire was good but stopped me downloading anything like apk's etc for some reason.
Now using dolphin and think its great
I use dolphin hd. Used it across 3 generations of android
Phones and still love it.
I would deffinately say dolphin browser is the best.

Very useful app dude..
i use dolphin as it lets me take off the notification bar, when i view video.
For me Opera Mobile wins. Full screen, extremely fast, super smooth scrolling, nice interface. Also, Opera always reflows the text, when using pinch to zoom, which the other browsers don't.
Boat Browser, not popular but really rocks
Stock browser works great. Only thing is I have to use opera mini for some websites.
Mini dolphin is pretty good also. I personally don't like dolphin hd.

Miren Browser. As fast as Dolphin Mini but with more features and less ugly than Dolphin HD. All the above mentioned just uses the phone's browser engine to render anyways so performance should be the same as stock more or less.
Use Opera Mobile occasionally because it's even faster than stock, but some pages don't render correctly and/or links fail.
Only use Firefox when none of the above work correctly with a website.
Do you have a cab file for that browser? Would like to try it, but can't find it in the Android market.

Big fan of Opera Mini while away from wifi. Sure, it doesn't have flash but holy crap is it fast (recompressed images, compressed everything, remotely cached and downloaded, streamed from Opera servers..."opera turbo technology", very fast). I typically use that when I'm out of the house. It helps save battery and holy crap is it smooth. Sure, our phone runs every browser as smooth as can be, but, Opera is far smoother than any of them.
I'm a big fan of DolphinHD too though. Though typically if I have a great 3G connection and/or have battery to burn I'll stick to stock.

+2 on both counts. I've been trying the stock browser because of all the rave reviews but I'm still liking dolphin HD better. What can I say, it has all the features I want.
I think I'll try Miren. I really liked it on my Evo. Are you guys uninstalling the stock browser?

I used dolphin hd on all my other android phones but the stock browser on the et4g is much faster. I just wish it had some of the features dolphin did.

wait, no Opera love? imho its THE best browser for android phones. Opera Mobile with full desktop rendering for WiFi browsing and Opera Mini with turbo rendering for 3G browsing.. best of both worlds

I agree, Dolphin HD is the best browser I have used.
I use Dolphin HD and set it to open a new tab with every link. Then I use a flick gesture to close the tab. It's awesome for browsing forums, and the phone doesn't slow down even if I have 20 tabs open.
You should definitely try boat browser mini.... I tested them all pretty extensively and it proved fastest.... I'd think Opera browser was second (for sure it preserves desktop display settings which great). Dolphin didn't for me. Boat does also with a tweak.
But give boat a try....speeedy!
So I'm tired of using like 3 different browsers for different applications. I use Firefox because its what I use on my desktop and I like the look and feel. I use chrome for the simplicity and speed sometimes, going to try switching to chrome on my desktop, I liked the bookmark sync Firefox has I think chrome has it too. But not everything works on chrome... I have to use stock browser for things like checking my sub trust account. And then there's Opera browser I like because I can make everything in desktop mode. What browser(s) do you guys use and is there just one I might be able to use instead of all 3?

You can request a desktop version of almost any site with the stock ics browser by just hitting the menu button and checking that option.
I use Opera Mini for everything.

The AOSP browser works the best for me.
I think it is up to the user I used to use dolphin hd with the gb roms. But I have always been a fan of chrome so when ICS came out I switched to that and have no complaints I keep the stock browser installed just in case there is something that chrome cant handle chrome still is in beta I think. And the stock ICS browser is not that bad at all.

Unfortunately Adobe dropped support for mobile, so only the stock browser can do flash. I remember when they announced the chrome app it said something about not supporting flash. HTML5 video works great though!

I have tried them all as well. I like Boat Browser. No flaky UI issues like dolphin, fully functional layout kinda Mozilla like. flash works great with it.
It is also very customizable. Imports bookmarks and is very fast. My $0.02 worth..
I like Maxthon. Give that one a shot. It has tabs and a nice fullscreen mode.
The only issue I don't like is the tooltips that pop up, and so far there is no setting to turn them off.They have told me they are working on that though.

Honestly all I run on my pc's and Macs is chrome. But on my phone as much as I have tried to use Chrome there's always little bugs that frustrate me. In my book, dolphin hd is the BEST browser for mobile platforms.

i am gonna have to say chrome for this one...... i dunno why but for what i need it for it works just fine. The only thing that i have found that bugs me is that the 2 finger zoom thing that is in the "browser" is not supported here. Yeah, yeah i know its dumb but ya know what i use it from time to time when pinch2zoom is not as easy to use, for example when my 2 year old baby wants to sit on my lap doesnt want to move because he "wants me". ya know stuff like that.....just sayn...
Dolphin browser beta in the play store has been updated for 4.2 it is free and easily beats out the aosp browser and the original dolphin browser. It uses html5. This browser is the fastest browser I have used scrolling is insane on the N4 give it a try! U won't be disappointed..

my phone turned into a hot coal after installing this.
first time i launched it it was acting all weird and when i looked at running apps, there was actually TWO instancse of this running and i couldnt stop the process from one of them no matter what.
so i rebooted and everything was fine, runs smooth and fast.
however, i went to charge my phone on my computer USB and the thing almost burned my hand. it also had only charged 1% in the last hour.
i messed around with the phone a bit and finally killed the dolphin app.
about 5 minutes later i picked the phone up again (still on usb) and it was back to normal; not hot at all.
YMMV
Dolphin beta shouldn't do that. Wait let me rephrase that. Any kind of browser shouldn't make your phone so hot that it will burn you. I'm using it right now and it's perfectly fine.

dolphin was actually on this page at the time LOL
i should point out the phone did not get hot with dolphin installed and running until i plugged it into my computer via usb.
let me try firing up dolphin again and plugging it into the PC and see if i can recreate the issue

I started it with Jetpack and realized it was just opening regular Dolphin browser (non-beta). So I uninstalled regular Dolphin and tried opening Jetpack and it tells me "Dolphin Jetpack must be used with Dolphin Browser v9.0 and above."
dolphin was clearly the problem. I was talking on the phone and my phone got super hot. I just uninstalled it until they fix the problems
