[Q] After zergRush Root, can't connect in MTP - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my phone using the zergRush one click method but the PC companion refuses to connect to my phone i tried re-installing the PC companion software but the same thing happens.
It only connects in MSC
If u guys have any idea on how to do that i need to connect to my laptop through the wireless connection.

try:
settings>sony ericsson>connection>usb connection mode, and beneath that you see an option for autoconnect
might be different words cuz i translated from dutch

Thanks for the reply.
I just found out the fix.
The problem was in the registry of the phone so the PC refused it after root.
I cleaned the registry and it connected just fine.

Where was this so called registry? What did you delete?

I uninstalled the device from the device manager and also PC companion software.
Then I used Tune-up utilities to clean the registry. I guess you can use any other similar software like system mechanic to clean your registry then install everything back.

activesync problem

Hi everyone.
I'm having a trouble with my Blue Angel Activesync. After installing and uninstalling Norton Antivirus (I only think this could be the source of the problem), the pocket PC doesn't connect to my PC anymore.
When I put it on the cradle it tries to connect as guest and then quickly disconnect (impossible to establish a relation).
I tried to uninstall and reinstall activesync, with no result. I also tried to use it with another Pc and it worked fine, so I'm convinced that I have a software problem with my PC.
Another interesting thing: if I leave the Blue angle while rebooting the PC Activesync mekes me connect and set the connection properties, but fails to syncronize...then disconnect...
I really don't know what to do.
Thank You in advance.

[Q] USB connection fails on 3 different PCs

I wanted to root my phone and flash a costum rom... unfortunately my DHD (2.2.1) is T-Mobile branded, so i had to create a goldcard in order to downgrade from 1.75.111.2 to 1.32. When it came to temproot it manually with cmd i had to plug my DHD into my PC in load only mode, usb debugging activated.
I knew already that my DHD wont recognize my PC or the other way round (i somehow broke it when i deleted the htcsync drivers.exe from my sd card), but i thought maybe it would somehow work in usb debugging mode.
Well, it didnt(phone not found).
i then focused on repairing my usb connection, so i tried it on 2 other pcs (mine is w7, the other ones are xp and win7) but it all failed
(xp asked for drivers, which i installed directly from htc.com today(on all pcs(plus i removed and reinstalled them all properly))/win7 did nothing/mine said that it fails to connect and that i should use a usb 2.0 port(well all ports are usb 2.0, i also tried usb3.0))
evertime i plugged my DHD in i was asked which connection i want to use, none worked, i also restarted my phone several times (usb connected and without) when i type in #7284# (or *#7284# i tried both) it says: connection failure or invalid mmi code
Finally i resetted my phone and did it all again! But it wont work!
please help me!
Hi...It looks like a driver issue...
If your drivers are installed correctly, in your win-7 Device manager it will show DHD.
I would suggest to Re-install HTC Sync from HTC website - Run it again and give it a try
doesnt work either.... win7 says the device does not run properly, my phone does nothin unusual...
i wonder if htc could fix the issue... this would be my last option
however i believe in you guys at xda!
how did you reset your phone?
Did you install the android SDK? Does adb recognize your phone? (run "adb devices", if your device is listed, everything should be fine)
On my win7-machine, the HTC-Software gives me an error message (along the lines of "phone doesn't respond" or something like that) but adb works nonetheless.
thank you for your answer but im afraid it didnt work... i installed the usb driver pack on sdk but i couldnt find it under sdk/usb driver..., however i found some files -> android/android-sdk/extras/google/usbdriver/amd64 -> usbdrivercoinstall2.dll... i tried to install this driver in hardware manager, and i tried to install an adb.exe which i found in my downgrade folder as a driver. but win7 said no driver installation is necessary the "best" drivers are already installed (win7 aint gonna install anything)
also my dhd is found under unkown device, -this device is deactivated because it made errors- "Dieses Gerät wurde angehalten, weil es Fehler gemeldet hat. (Code 43)"
well i deinstalled it and searched for new hardware, he now says the drivers are installed properly please restart however i neither see my sd card nor my devices name (instead unkown device with this little yellow triangle)
btw. for reset i used my android reset (settings -> sdcard -> reset)
It is normal, the HTC Sync turns on the USB debug?
Have the same issue. My DHD can be connected to the PC no other way than charge mode, no matter is usb debugging turned on or off. Tried 2 PCs with W7 and 1 PC with Ubuntu 10.04. This trouble appeared several days ago. Wipe didn't help. Thinking of re-installing firmware, but it seems like hardware problem. An engineer in our service center said it might be motherboard malfunction.
Some ways of solving this problem are described here: http://goo.gl/2eMcP But none of those solutions helped me. If anyone can help, please advise.
UPD: re-installing the firmware had no success - connection with PC failed. 95% hardware problem, will take it to service center.
Guys I know it's a stupid advice, but I had same problems (suddenly my connection with pc didn't work anymore): did you try to change usb cable?

tried 3 cables and 3 PCs
i just found a solution for me : i tried a forth pc (win7) freshly installed htcsync + android sdk + !downloaded! (not properly installed) adb drivers (which i surprisingly did not need) well i plugged my DHD in and he installed all drivers, but never asked for an adb driver. instead he had problems installing 7 different bluetooth drivers for my DHD (???)^^
it just worked for me this way (also worked for debugging mode + load only mode (for radio s-off/hboot s-off))
:|)
well it's not exactly a permanent solution just a temporal way to root my phone, but in worst case i think its nessesary to reinstall win7 on your pc....

[Q] Problems with SEUS

Hi - more questions, but this time its a problem I'm having. Before flashing the latest O2 UK firmware I want to decrypt my current Orange France 2.3.2 firmware in case I need to go back to it. However, I'm assuming that I need to connect with SEUS once (and possibly update whatever they have) so I can then find the current firmware files in the SEUS folders on my PC.
Anyway, the long and short of it is that when I am told to hold the back button while connecting the phone, NOTHING HAPPENS. I've tried loads of times, tried reinstalling SEUS, nothing. Some drivers started to install, and all seems OK there - no yellow triangles in device manager. Also installed PC Companion (automatically offered when I connected the phone with it turned on). It installed drivers then too. All fine. I tried using a different USB cable too - no luck.
Any clues ?? Searched Sony Ericsson site and it is bare of useful info. Did a search here too but no luck either.
Thanks in advance.
and you followed the instruction as they say:
1. switch off the phone
2. wait for 30 seconds or so (pref. remove the battery and insert it)
3. hold the back button
4. insert usb..
it should detect the phone no matter what. i hope there is some juice in battery...
I've heard that SEUS and PCC now are able to detect rooted phones and don't let you reinstall stock software. It needs the stock build.prop
Thanks for the replies. I have been pulling my hair out on this. I realised that it is to do with my SECM USB Flash drivers being faulty or something.
I tried to use PC Companion and it got to the same bit where SEUS crashes - right when it wants to get in to flash mode on the phone. It hangs the computer up.
I have googled like crazy and have seen reports of others PCs hanging at the same place. BUT, I can't find a way to repair or reinstall the USB Flash drivers - I've reinstalled SEUS and PC Companion plenty of times, with my anti-virus off. And tried to get in to flash mode with the anti virus off.
Problem I think I had is that a lightning storm stopped my first installation of PC Companion - I think it may have screwed something.
Any ideas how to fix the usb flash drivers ???
Have you tried de-installing SEUS and PCC, then in device manager search for and remove the USB Drivers for SEMC.. then reboot.. then re-install SEUS..
??

Thanks - tried that but no luck unfortunately. Couldn't even see anything in Device Manager to do with SEMC, SEUS or Sony Ericsson - was looking under USB Controllers. When I did a full search I did find plenty of traces of the drivers GGSEMC (Gordons Gate Flash USB drivers) in both system32 folder and in the Sony Ericsson folder left over after uninstalling SEUS. Didn't want to just delete the ones in system folders.
you could try doing the "update driver" operation - my driver was called Sony Ericsson seechri (or something like that!).... see if you can repair..
Perhaps you could try on ur friends pc. Just to confirm that seus is the problem.
SOLVED (sort of)
Thanks for the advice.
OK - I tried on another machine (why didn't I do that 6 hours earlier ). Works fine on Win7 64 bit. Maybe the drivers didn't get installed properly on Win XP ?? Going to have a go rolling back to an earlier restore point on the XP machine to see if I can get it working.
Anyway, SOLVED. Thanks

[Q] Can't connect to LG PC Sync

Guys, i have installed the LG PC Sync software on my work PC. Its a Win 7 64bit image on a Dell 6430 laptop. When i connect the phone by USB, the computer lets me see the phone to copy/transfer files, but PC Sync does not connect to the phone. I tried to manually search etc to no avail. I see in the tutorial that when you connect the phone, it should see the "PC Connection" as an option on the phone. I don not get this, just 3 modes: MTP, PPP and Charge. I tried all modes. I un-installed the software, re-installed the software, tried installing only drivers etc. Still no success...
What am i missing?? )))

PC Suite probably has to update itself first - in one of the menu items you can check for updates (for the PC Suite app).

[Q] Connecting C6506 ZL LTE via USB to Windows system

I recently acquired a Sony Xperia C6506 (ZL LTE). Before I start playing around with this phone, i need to offload some photos. I'm trying to connect the phone to my laptop running Windows 7 via the USB. My system does not recognize the phone. I'm assuming it's because I don't have the correct driver on my windows system . (I've also tried "PC Companion but had no luck there either). I searched the Sony web site for a driver but did not see a specific one for the C6506. Does anyone know where I can find the correct driver for the USB on Windows 7? Or does anyone have any other ideas why this might not be working?
Thanks
I have the same phone and windows 7 recoginzed it and installed the driver by itself. Didn't remember if it downloaded it or found it from the system. Perhaps you can try the PC companion software from Sony.

Thanks for the reply - I've loaded PC Companion and in step two, it never recognizes the device.

What happens when you connect the phone to your PC? Anything? Do you see any messages popping up? Any errors? Do you see it in device manager? Also, do you see any messages on your phone when you plug it in? What USB connection mode is set in your phone's settings? In general, MTP should be the most universal method.
I have the same phone, and it is recognized perfectly by Windows 7 (at work) and Windows 8.1 (at home). When you install Sony PC Companion, it includes the proper drivers, so you don't need to do anything extra (you do need additional drivers for flash mode and ADB, but that's a different topic). I would suggest trying another PC, to see if it makes any difference. If it still doesn't work, it might be something with your phone...
As an alternative, you can use a WiFi connection to access your files on the phone. I often use either ES File Explorer or Software Data Cable - they both provide an FTP service that you can connect to from your PC over WiFi.
Have you tried with another cable? My Xperia is recognized perfectly out-of-the-box on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, as soon as I connect it, PC starts to search and download drivers, no PC Companion installed nor Flashtool drivers. :/

Yeah, that would be a good option to start, forgot to mention it. I've seen bad USB cables quite a few times, more often than I'd expect...
Thanks again for the quick replies and the suggestions cause they worked - it was the cable. The cable I was using was capable of charging the phone but did not allow Windows to recognize it. I used a different cable and it worked fine. Tharnks again. Now the fun begins changing the phone into a media playing device. If you have any suggestions on this I'm all ears.
Thanks
