3 in 1 Combo Case & Holster for Samsung Galaxy S II (T-Mobile) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I first found this on Ebay but the seller sold out.
I found it on Amazon.com for $19.93
Just wondering if any have tried this case out.
Yeah I know...no one really wears belt clips these days lol.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TWBL9S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1RH0KAQ4UOK5L

is that a holster and allows the phones screen to face inward? if so, i am very excited! i just spoke to my friend about that the other day...all the cases ive seen have the screen facing outward and exposed...i dont like the vulnerability of that..i told him i wish i had the resources to pitch an idea like that to someone and get it made...also..is that phone in a rubber case too?
also...im curious about the ease of putting the phone in and out of it...if it will scratch up the back of the case
they are selling on ebay for much cheaper $14
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Protector-C...588767?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e68949c9f

Can't you just do that with any holster? Its the same size around, unless some holsters have the button area set but this one seems like both ways since both side are the same amount of space for buttons
DMolina ツ

the package comes with a holster and a case..i dont know about the dimensions of either...if you buy a case or holster separately they may not fit perfectly together...and most holsters are just cases with a small detachable piece on the back to put it on/off of your belt...therefore the screen is facing out..which to me is a no no
like this one..

Posted these couple of days ago in my post on the different cases available or coming soon: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1344613

oh..never saw that post...good job putting that together...a powerskin case that goes into a holster would be the mother of all cases...for me at least...i normally just buy like $5-10 cases on ebay..but if they made that i'd shell out some real money for it

I actually still use a holster or I would lose my phone lol. I was gonna buy.that same combo on eBay but just decided to wait for the active seidio combo.

the seidio combo looks a lot higher quality...but it is crazy expensive $40-50?

DO NOT BUY
i got one of these cases for my phone the first week i had it same color and everything and not only is it a cheap POS but it doesn't even snap on the phone snug and is bulkier than a ************ buyer beware!!
It ended up fitting my phone so horribly i demanded a refund from the seller and he told me i didn't need to bother sending it back.
ALSO: the title "3 in 1" combo case is a load of **** because the kick stand doesn't work in landscape...no joke. You can see in the pic i uploaded that the kick stand clip part sticks out and the phone cannot balance on that uneven point it literally just doesn't work.
Also the portrait mode kickstand mode requires you to put your phone in upside down and the kick stand function is based off of extreme pressure on cheaply made plastic and nothing else. When you bend the pincer clip open you can see it bend where it is connected to the holster by a clearly visible glue circle
So yeah just wanted to prevent someone else from wasting twenty bucks... and sorry to those who already did.

I use this iPhone sport armband case for my phone so i can keep it safe and protected but also add no extra bulk. I wish i had a link but i got it from Walmart looked through all their cases and was about to walk out when i saw this beauty sitting on the iPhone exclusive aisle of accessories.
It fits the phone to a tee.. snug as ****. Its almost too good of a fit but manages to be perfect.
Again i wish i could hook it up w link or even brand but i just threw the packaging out as soon as i got it and slipped it in my device heh.
Here's a visual reference I'd imagine wall marts all have similar inventory especially with something like this
I'm aware the phone is not a sgs2 its an evo 3d to demonstrate how much you can see the screen through the window and because i dont have tapatalk installed on it and im too lazy to install it just so i can take a picture of the phone im using with it. Rest assured that the case fits like a dream. The material is also made so you can interact with your screen through it.

[Review] Acase Leather Ez Folio Case

So the initial reason why I decided on the galaxy tab was because of its incredibly thin profile and light design.
I searched for days picking apart cases so I could keep that thin, light profile.
Well I think we found a winner folks. Its the Acase Ez Leather Folio Case.
It has an excellent feel to it, holding the tablet very tightly inside. It has those nifty magnetic flaps to keep it shut when needed. It has all of the ports cut out properly, including speakers, and the build quality is top notch.
It really has the two best viewing angles you could ask for. Perfect for typing, perfect for watching movies.
When you fold back its flap, it keeps the tablet thin and easy to view in landscape.
I guess my only 2 gripes is there not being a cut out for the charger when the flap is closed. But that seems to be very common among all folio cases. I guess they are trying to keep the dust out. Not a big deal for me as I am pretty good with a ruler and an exacto knife.
My other gripe is the bowing of the edges around the rim of the glass. It doesnt lay completely flat or flush. Although I will say its extremely stiff and probably the best I've seen in comparison. Alot of the other folio cases use a super thin and flapity leather or vinyl and, not only does it look cheap its very loose. This one is definitely an improvement over those. Its tight and uses a very thick, high quality leather, best I've seen.
If your looking for a high quality leather folio case that will keep your tablet thin & light without breaking the bank, then I recommended you go pick this one up on Amazon for $30 Shipped.
Dont forget to hit thanks if this post helped you!!

Looks very functional and thin but I am not loving the contrast white stitching.
I can't decide if I want to put full Ghost Armor on my GT or go for one of these type of cases. I would have loved the knock off Apple smart case, hopefully Samsung will approve that one soon. Screw crapple.
Personally, I love the white stitching. It matches my wallet and shoes! Haha.
Comparing it to all other folio cases, at least this one is unique with its own bit of personality and style. Searching through tons of cases, I was tired of seeing the same boaring straight black cases. I guess to each his own, but I like it cause it stands out.

Thanks for this! I was about to pull the trigger on the official Samsung case, but then I figured I'd take another quick look at the forums to see if I missed anything. I looked at your post and immediately changed my mind. I was looking for something that didn't add much bulk to the device, but would protect it fairly well. This looks pretty stylish to boot.
Also got a 3 pack of the same company's screen protectors for the Tab for 20 percent off with purchase of this case on Amazon. Ordering the case and the protectors, with next day shipping on Prime was 48 dollars, still about 20 dollars less than the Samsung case. Thank you SO much!
I like the case, just not the stitching, just my opinion.
The problem with getting such a brand new device is there not being anough quality choices in cases. Happens to me a lot because I unfortunately like to be an early adopter. I have spent so much money on Blackberry cases because I changed berries so damn often. Same happene with my Evo, bought a Golla pouch that I thought I would really like and then ended up not liking it so I got something else.
I may just do a full Ghost Armor for now until I find the ideal case, or just get the pasic slip in case for now.
I would have to agree on the stitching aspect. I like the case and would definitely buy it but I just think that doesn't sit with me for some reason. Thanks for the review.Nice to get one from a user aspect and not a company. Something I have been reading and searching for all day.
I love the look of this case. I am down to this case and the Melkco case. Tough decision to make.
Your welcome!

One of these days i will take a picture of my shoes and wallet and youll see what im talking about
This reminds me of the Yoobao executive folio case that I had for my iPad2. Have been looking for something like that and this is almost exactly like it.
Thx alot for the tip bro.
I received my Acase case today. It is a very sleek leather case that does not take away from it's attractiveness and yet its a great protective cover for my GT10.1. It is the best of both worlds.
Amazon Prime members can get it for a total of 24.95 landed.

Got mine and have been using it for about three weeks. I agree with the review overall. Unfortunately, the stitching on one of the corners is coming apart. I hope I can return it.
As long as you haven't poured something on the case or abused the case, you should be able to rightfully claim poor workmanship. No vendor wants to see bad reviews of their business on Amazon or on any message board.
Sorry to bump this old thread, but I think this deserves some bumpage.
I've been using the case for a few weeks now and I have one major complaint. Either the stitching is coming loose, or the leather is wearing down already. The leather tab that folds over the tablet to keep it in place does not stretch tightly anymore.
This means that when holding the tablet normally, since the bottom of the tablet rests on this flap, the tablet falls through the case quite a bit. Not only do the speakers get covered since it's not sitting right in the case anymore, but the entire thing is just annoying. Very hard to hit volume or power buttons, etc.
The Tab has not fallen completely out of the case....yet. But I can see that is where this is heading.
Funny thing is, I haven't even used the Tab all that much since getting the case. This case wore VERY quickly, and now I'm looking into other options. Don't think I can get my money back from Amazon at this point either
Anybody else with this case seeing this happen?
EDIT: Can take pictures to show what I'm talking about if asked

I have the same, it's the best ^^

One of my all-time favorite cases

I know that our phone was just released by Tmobile.
I am a bit restless and impatient.
On my Vibrant I had a special case on it. There's no definitive name.
Some sites advertise as
(1) "hybrid back case"
(2) "mesh case"
(3) "flex case"
But, all in all, I am still waiting for this case.
I don't know the standard "snap-in" cases, comprised of 2 piece construction because we are the tweakers and drug addicts of the phone world. When does a day go by that we don't pop off the back cover to expose the battery and use "Download mode" right?
So, the cases I mentioned above are always
(1) extra thin
(2) Super flexible
(3) very very easy to remove
and best of all
(4) one piece.
So, it's official, I'm coining the term right now, "pop-in" case, or "plomp" or "clap-case"
You heard it here first boys and girls.
Here's what I'm talking about
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s-ii/107079-sgs2-cases.html
Samsung has officially released the above case for the international version of the SGS 2.
I'm waiting for somebody, even some cheap imitator to create these for the SGS2.
Even for the Vibrant, the "pop" case was difficult to find amidst a sea of Bull-Crap hippie 2-piece design cases.
So, let me know what you guys think. I'm extremely excited.
#2 - Screen protectors
I think I used the Clear Look - screen protectors. It's made by a korean company and I got it on Amazon.
I liked it because
(1) lightweight
(2) extremely clear
(3) great feel, just like the gorilla glass feels.
Anyway, any suggestions in the meantime for a screen protector that doesn't "matte" up the screen, and feels reasonably similar to the current gorilla glass?
Thanks all

On my vibrant I had the Realook crystal screen protector. It looked like there was no screen protector on the phone. I ordered the same brand for the Hercules from Amazon but it looks like will not ship until the end of the month.
I also just received a hybrid touch case off ebay similar to the case I had on my vibrant for 10 bucks free shipping. I will post pics later.

Lucky, I tried to get one but all they had was the Body Glove ones. The Realook sp is out, but are on back order. I would be getting one as well. Had it on the iPhone, the first Galaxy (Vibrant), MT4G, and I love it.

On the day of release my Tmobile store had one box come in of the D30 cases. By the time I went there to pick up my sgs2 they were all gone. I think its a hit or miss. Some stores had them in stock one release day and some didnt. However, my store did say they were getting more in by the end of the week so more might already be on the shelves. I would go back this week or call your local stores and see if any are in stock.

Nice pics!!! Thanks for sharing.
I can't even find this case on t-mobile.com. Only one's I can find in store or online are the Body Glove ones that I'm not a fan of.
Post pictures of the case with your phone in it !!!
This is exciting.
I'm still waiting for that mesh case though. It's soo thin, it's a very unobtrusive shield over the phone. Mesh!!!
I really don't care if it's actually mesh, but I just want the "pop-in" function mated with its tiny profile.
looks like a great case! I should check if t-mo stores out of my area stock them.

thanks for the pics. Does everyone that got D3O case notice it being kind of dirty inside like white marks and dots.
Also noticed the speaker cutout has weird curve on the longer edges. ( its not a perfect rectangle)
Is mine defective or is it a design?

Case with Kickstand Recommendations?

As someone who used the kickstand on my Evo OG a lot, I must have a case that includes a kickstand. Does anyone have any particular recommendations? I have used Seidio car mounts in the past, and they were very high quality and durable, but a bit on the heavy side (trade-off for durable I guess).
Anyway, I see two cases I'm interested in.

Oh man, I am so used to ordering everything from Amazon (or others) that I didn't even consider going to a store to get a case. I guess I was thinking that since the stores don't have the phones yet, they wouldn't have the accessories. Stupid thought process on my part. I'll have to go to a local store and see if I can find the case-mate.

How is it bulky? Its like 2 inches long and one inch wide. And doesn't add much thickness to the phone at all. When your fingers are in it, you won't worry about dropping it at all. I can easily reach all 4 corners of my screen with this baby. watch Qbkings review of it

I had it on my epic touch for a few weeks (before I quickly got rid of it) and it never felt like it was getting loose. It uses the 3m double sided tape, the same tape on the wall hooks that 3m makes that are rated to hold 5 lbs.
Another thing I like is that it lifts the phone speaker of the surface more so it doesn't dampen the ringer. That is partially annoying cause it doesn't lay flat on a surface if your using your phone laying down, but isn't a huge deal.

Guys, looking for something below with kickstand. I see some good options in this thread but they all make the phone pretty thick.
So far, I have been using
for my captivate

Ballistic SG Maxx

Got mine today. It's pretty awesome. The molded screen protector is a great feature. I will likely use it when I am outdoors playing, but switch back to my Rock case when I am lounging indoors.
The belt clip is another great addition. I would take this case over an Otterbox ANY day. It doesn't make it nearly as big and boxy.

The belt clip is another great addition. I would take this case over an Otterbox ANY day. It doesn't make it nearly as big and boxy.
Sorry I am out on the lake all weekend, so pictures are out until I get back on Sunday.

How easy is it to remove and put back on and stuff? Surely fairly easy seeing as you're switching between the Rock and the SG?
yeahmon, do you use the Ballistic in a car holder, if so, can you provide pics of this also when you get the chance ?
Thanks in advance for the picture

Very easy. Just like a Commuter comes off.

Ballistic MAXX
I just ordered mine. This case has a hard shell screen protector, that is an awesome feature. I have been an Otterbox fan since the iPhone 3G, but this case looks like it will take the cake. :highfive:
Ordered wondering how long it will take to get to UK also they say the screen protector is replaceable is there a re order ref in the box with the case as I don't see anything on the site ? TIA

There was nothing in the box but the case, and a Ballistic decal. The screen protector is flexible plastic. I will add that it distorts the screen a bit if you look at it a certain way. Nothing offensive, but worth noting. Almost like a 3D LCD. It's weird to describe.
I'm assuming you will be able to order them on their website soon. The case was just released a day or two ago.
I have terrible 3G reception where we are camping,so forgive me if my replies take awhile. It took 6 hours to send the first reply yesterday.

I'm already beginning to dislike the plastic screen protector. It seems to be creating a lot of false touches, which causes me to have to use the back button a LOT. It may have to come off and see how it works without it.
I have officially pulled the screen protector off. It was causing WAY too many touch errors. I like nekkid screen better.

I have had this case on the whole time. I forgot about my Rock case. This phone just feels right with this case. It's easy in my hand, and I dropped it onto the kitchen floor, and and it just bounced a little. I about freaked out, but my S3 lives.

thanks for the continuous updates. pretty helpful to see how the case turns out in the long run.
i decided not to go for ballistic or commuter
went ahead to preorder a trident kraken ams. for the price (31 shipped to the US), design and protection i think its the best of the 3. if it doesnt work out ill go for a commuter before ballistic.
I had to remove the Ballistic. Everyone was complaining about not being able to understand me on the phone. The mic is such a tiny hole on the bottom of the phone, it seemed the rubber hole was preventing my voice from carrying. I put the Rock case back on, and the problem is solved. I would imagine this could be the results for any case that covers the bottom of the device.

I may try and punch the mic hole out a bit bigger and see if it helps.
50% off is great.

I was looking at the ballistic at the mall the other day. Liked it. hated the screen protector off the gate, but with a regular protector it was nice. Didn't even think about the mic issue.. Will have to investigate that one.. kind of big deal to be able to have people hear you.
Make the phone look super ugly

Otterbox Case

Got my case today. It doesn't seem to fit at the headphone jack area. Anyone else seeing this? Besides that, it's a great case so far!

I have the eBay $7 case...same thing w/ the headphone jack, need to find just a thinner one or whittle some of the plastic off if you dare
I have the otterbox case and it fits well on my phone.
I fixed it! I had to put the part covering the jack through first so it was correct.
Did anyone use the screen protector it came with? Is it better than a Zagg?

I couldn't get the screen protector on to my satisfaction. I ordered a Phantom skinz and will report back.

All the local stores I went to (the same one that wouldn't activate the phone for my SERO-P plan) have 1 or 2 of them in stock. If you are really desperate for it, you can always order it from Sprint's website
I am using one of these right now and it's not bad for the price, good enough to last me until something better comes out.
odd....thats the first time ive seen the case on the sprint site....and ive been checking often.....
and here's what the otterbox site tells me. ( ive also tried on multiple computers, devices, and browsers)

I stopped by my local best buy and got the Rocketfish case. not bad....fits well. in the comment section there was a debate as to weather or not this case was for the at&t or sprint model. its marked as an at&t case, however people with that phone said it didnt fit at all. those who had the sprint version said it fit. and it does. On a side note, the case does have a cut out that looks like it would be for the SD card on the at&t model, which is misleading. though i find the slot to be useful cause you can use a dime or penny to pop the case off. if you dont do that its a pain in the butt to get it undone.
I also have a little concern about the phone getting too hot in the case. after a half hour / hour of playing FPS / Driving games it gets really hot. I may end up moding the case and cutting the back out to make it a "bumper" style case
@Ryocho - thanks for the offer ! gonna see how this case does and see if anything else comes out.
I will say though, i do like the otterbox screen protector, worked out great for my evo. and i dont think they sell them seperate.....

I use this case as well , was kinda bored on the lack of case's we carry at sprint so I did some mix matching......... I know I know its hot pink but hey im good I got a hot lil mexican so im secure with it lol
Oh yea I used the factory shield at first but that high gloss plastic scratches real quick so I cut an S3 invisishield to fit , works for now

How can I get those other colors? Would love it in red. I'm applying a Zagg next week

I can't wait to see some more colors released! My plain old black is boring.
Car Mount/Holster
Just grabbed the Otterbox and everything is great, two questions though.
Besides the sprint generic, has anyone found a good car mount that fits with the case on?
Has anyone found a holster that fits? My hope is i can find a holster that is sideways with the clip at the top and I can slightly modify the case to snap into place.
If i find anything I'll be sure to pass it on!

I highly recommend this mount. The one hand operation is really convenient.
Is that mount guaranteed to fit? I would get it if I had that verification haha.

^^ I am 99% sure it will fit, since reviews say it will fit a s3 with otterbox case, but tight. And with my currently naked optimus G there's about 1/4 inch space on both sides when the arms are fully extended.
But if you have concerns you can get the galaxy note 2 version, which is guaranteed to fit a s3 with otterbox case, optimus g with otterbox should be about the same size.
I love the case. I've had it for most of my phones but my only issue is when it's on the back the plastic slides on smooth surfaces because it's so light of a phone! It's not a big issue but something to mention.
It's a good case. Just a little bulky
Cannot express how glad I am I got this case. Definitely the best case out there now. Accidently dropped my phone out of my pocket while getting out the charging cable and it fell onto concrete from about 3 feet high. And there's not a single scratch, on my phone, or the screen. Woo Otterbox!
And I normally never, ever drop my phone. My last phone only had Ghost Armor on it and one tiny ding after a year and a half. But these things happen and boy am I glad I invested in this gem!
holster
I've been looking for a holster like the defender that will fit this case but haven't had any luck. Anyone else?
