would you recommend this phone? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Tomorrow T-Mobile is having a sale and I have been thinking about dropping Sprint due to the price and poor service for a while. This seems to be the perfect opportunity. I have narrowed it down to either the S2 or Amaze I am having a hard time deciding. I have been reading some negative things about the S2 having screen color issues and artifacts and it being not up to the same level as the other variants.
With your experience with this phone would you recommend it or not? Also does it play mkv videos like the other Galaxy S II variants?

Coming from the Sensation...then returning the Amaze, the S2 is all over those two phones.

What about the issues like the low dpi and artifacts on the screen? Also can it play mkv videos out of the box? I have an evo 3D on sprint and I love that phone and was thinking to stick with HTC since Sense UI is so nice. I'm having a hard time deciding. I also read that it has issues producing accurate colors.

The resolution is not an issue and the screen issues are in my opinion over exaggerated. I'm not saying it isn't there but you have to look for it. Its really apparent in a dark room with the brightness all the way down.
I still think this screen is gorgeous. The colors are really vibrant.
Not to sure about the videos but I will definitely recommend this phone. Give it a shot and if you don't like it return it and get the amaze. I'm sure the amaze isn't a bad phone but this phone is just phenomenal not as buggy and troublesome as the Sensation was.

I have seen the lines and blotches on my screen, but only after reading about it on here. Its probably something you would never notice with normal use. I would definitely recommend this phone. Keep in mind coming from sprint that t-mobile's definition of "unlimited" includes soft data caps.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App

I came from the epic. Only thing I don't like is the data throttling but the 4G is something you'd never see on sprint.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium

Also, yes mine plays mkv fine. It also plays flac and is divx certified.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App

Absolutely.

After wrestling over it, I decided to get this phone over the Galaxy Nexus. I was ready to get one, but I told myself I will never pay $700 plus for a phone again, even though I almost did it. Then the no sd slot thing, blah. This phone will be fine till S3

The data cap isn't a problem. I barely use 600mb the most. What i like is the much lower bill.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk

The phone is amazing but network much worse for me than Sprint. I had original EVO then Photon, neither even close to GS2 in all but call drops. I drop about 20% of my calls on Tmo and only dropped about 5 during a year and a half with Sprint.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium

I live in nyc and the coverage seems good. I can't get a sprint signal in my apt but my friend has 5 bars with tmobile. Also 4G on sprint is an absolute joke since I barely get to use it and when on the battery drains. With tmobile I will be able to save at least $40 a month and that's a lot.

I bought this phone after having played with both the amaze and the sgs2 . I was stuck on the amaze. But i decided to go with the sgs2 because i felt sense would kill off the need for some of my widgets.
By this phone root and rom it . Done !!!!!??

I use handbrake to encode dvd to mkv. Movies look stunning on this using that encoding software and mkv format. Even with dice player and other so called mkv apps, my sensation didn't look this good.

I would definitely recommend it if your headed to T-Mobile. Minor issues with the screen but they are definitely not notable unless I'm using the phone in the dark, and for me the graininess is preferable to the bleed through on the Amaze. Other than that the phone has Web perfect. Fast, smooth and bright!

I just upgraded from the Vibrant and got the gs2 yesterday. I love this phone. I have to say I did notice the screen lines and discoloration when I was reading at night with the brightness set at auto. During the day it's fine. I was set on waiting for the Galaxy Nexus to come for tmo, but there still hasn't been an announcement and besides the 720p and ics, the gs2 seems to beat it specs wise.
I switched from Sprint a few months ago because of lack of 4G and diminishing 3G speeds (200k). I was pulling 5mbps on the vibrant and now I'm getting 11-15mbps consistently with the gs2.

I got the galaxy s II and the Amaze for the other line. I feel the Amaze has a much better quality screen and although smaller you can see more of a webpage with it. The galaxy s has some huge text and looks like it is zoomed in. The screen also looks bluish.
The t-mobile service is so far much better than I had with sprint. I can all bars in my home unlike sprint where I got none and the network is so much faster. My bill is also cut b $40.00 or more so I couldn't be happier.
I didn't realize the galaxy has no notification light unlike the amaze and the dedicated camera buttons would have been nice. I wonder if i can return it for an exchange?
Edit. Exchanged it for the HTC Amaze. Much happier with this phone with the notification light, dedicated camera buttons and the screen looks much better. Thanks for the help.

Coming from Amaze 4G

So, I was checking out the Samsung Galaxy S2 at my local T-Mobile store, and was comparing / contrasting it very closely with the HTC Amaze "Ruby" 4G. Some of the things I noticed were:
* An odd blu-ish hue coming from the display (anyone notice this?)
* Low resolution screen compared to Amaze 4G (I could see pixelization on the SGS2)
* The AMOLED Plus display is much darker than the qHD on the Amaze 4G
* HTC's SenseUI is much smoother than Samsung TouchWiz
* The Amaze 4G has a 1280x720 front-facing camera, compared to 640x480 on SGS2
* Lack of shutter button (or video recording button) on Galaxy S2
* No wifi calling on SGS2
I'd been pretty much sold on the Samsung Galaxy S2 until I actually saw it in person today. Anyone else bothered by these things?
Definitely the wifi calling.
Add to the list that I'm seeing no tethering without updating your contract.
I've heard pros/cons about the screen resolution vs size and industry standards.
shutter button nice but not a deal breaker.
I wonder which one is going to be easier to root and rom? I dont particularly like either sense or touchwiz.

Hmmmm I was in the store for a little over an hour comparing the two and I ended up getting the SGS2.
* I didn't notice the odd blue hue coming from the display and didn't think the screen was that much darker than the Amaze. Did you try adjusting the brightness?
*I thought both UIs were pretty snappy and didn't notice any lag switching between homescreens and adding widgets on either device.
*i won't argue about the actual numbers for the front-facing camera but I didn't notice a difference between the pics I took with each camera.
* Neither device launches with wifi calling. It's supposed to be included in an ota update from t-mobile. they make you get a new special sim card and everything to make sure that it will work once they do roll it out.
*I did notice some slight pixellation on the device on some sites but it didn't bother me enough not to get the phone.
It was a really hard choice for me. The deciding factors for me was that I preferred the vibrant screen on the SGS2 and I preferred Touchwiz. I think Sense is more elegant and better-looking but in the past I've found it a little obtrusive and seems to use up more of the phone's resources than Touchwiz.
I think they're both two amazing phones. It all comes down to personal preference.

Did you try tethering or hotspot?
I definitely noticed the blue-hue on the Samsung. The screen's color temperature is too cold. I noticed this in Samsung's Amoled displays.
The screen does appear a little blury, especially compared to the Amaze 4G
Both of those factors made my eyes hurt after playing with the S II for about 30min. I walked away really disappointed, because I really wanted to like the S II.
Regarding the screen brightness... For some reason unbeknownst to rationality... There are multiple brightness controls buried in multiple menus. when turned all the way up...this thing is blinding.

3 things 1) The front facing camera on the Galaxy S2 takes picks in 1600x1200. 2) There is no way I can understand how you see Sense on the Amaze being smoother then Touchwiz. 3) with the screen being darker did you make sure to adjust the backlight on the Galaxy S2 cause at full brightness you could mistaken the damn thing for a light house outside. Lol

I think he was trying to troll about the ffc and ffc doesn't need to be better than vga its only used for video calling. We all know no matter how it is htc cant program sense properly if their life depended on it.The S3 Qualcomm processor flies on this phone compared to the sensation and amaze 4g. There will be a color editor app there is one on the samsung galaxy 2 carriers decided to set it to cool like a tv i have no reason why.
Well said.
I was the first to get the SGSII in my state (HI) this morning and before leaving the store spent a long while on the Amaze and SGSII.
I'm done with HTC. Touchwiz to me in my opinion is junk...It lags so much on simple tasks from when I had my MT4GS. Just the feel and experience of HTC annoys me now.
The Amaze having a better camera is a marketing gimmick. I took pictures with both, emailed it to myself and compared them in close detail. Being a photographer for over a decade I know that the SGSII has a kick @$$ camera.
The processor on the SGSII is noticeably more quicker than the Amaze.
Screen wise....no comparison. Obviously he didn't adjust the settings...

coming from sensation which is the Amaze basically without the better camera and the extra Ram, i sat there for 30 minutes comparing my phone to the SGS2 and i can tell you i used to be hard core hater of samsung devices and i left the store and put my Sensation on e-bay. The brighter screen and bigger screen won me over and i had a custom rom and all the goodies on my sensation and oh yeah if anyone says this phone isnt smooth and fast as hell then they really need to play with a stock sense phone for a while .although the Amaze was really snappy for a sense device it still dont hold a candle to the SGS2.
I'm a big fan of vanilla Android so I hate sense and touchwiz. But after using touchwiz for a day or so, I have to admit its much better than sense.
I love my phone. Barring any physical issues, I won't understand how anyone wouldn't like it.

I'm sorry? I'm just trying to help people who actually want to know if there are any issues with the phone they're debating on buying.
For me it wasn't even a question of which phone to get. I bought the SGS2(566.29$} at 09:11 and played with it until about 7pm. The low resolution on a stretched screen is what did it for me.
Sad, because the SGS2handles video through the hdmi MHL adapter much more smoothly

I had the phone for 10 hours before I started posting anything bad about it.
So, clearly it wasn't since minute one of the phone coming out.
Yes, I'm clearly warning people about what was for me a definite deal breaker. I've also recommended people buy the SGS2, because they have 14 days to return it and exchange for a different phone with no 50$ restocking fee if they don't like it.
Many people are debating which one to buy and are asking about the experiences we've had. I'm telling people about my experience so they can make an informed decision and not regret it whichever phone they go with.
The sh!ttiest thing is that i'm pretty sure the SGS2 is going to have a better DEV community.

maybe you just got a bad device, that is possible all phones arent created equal . I couldnt see getting the Amaze since i just had a sensation ,virtually the same phone now only amaze has a little more ram. i played with both phones for a while and the amaze just didnt interest me because i already had that plus HTC's build quality has gone to **** IMO, i had 4 sensations and they all went back for the same reason with the dust. I just opened my mind a little and im giving Samsung a chance
Samsung Galaxy s2 vs HTC Amaze 4g
Why did You choose SGS2 over the amaze?
This will be helpful for people who are stuck in between and need help deciding.

[Q] Which one phone to get?

Well, right now I have the T-Mobile MyTouch 4G.... My wife and I went into a T-Mobile store today and they informed us of a new plan they had that would save us about $100 a month. So, me, being the person I am, asks if the new plan will mess up my upgrade for my phone.... And lucky me.... Instead of waiting another 8 months for an upgrade, the new plan will actually allow me to upgrade then
So, long story not so short...
I am debating between the Samsung Galaxy S2, OR the HTC Amaze.... I was just curious as to why, if you already own the S2, you would or would not suggest it to someone? Thanks for any input in advance!
SGS2 hands down, best phone out for T-Mobile right now.

From a development standpoint, our SGSII has more support, kernels, roms and themes than the Amaze. Also CM has been confirmed for our phone as Cyanogen said it himself. I'm not exactly sure for the amaze as I don't visit their forums often. Imo, SII is the way to go if you like a variety of roms to choose from.

HTC has horrible quality control, their battery life on the amaze is ****, it's ugly, bleeding key lights, it's ugly, it's a sensation in a new case overclocked to 1.5.
The galaxy s2 is beautiful and the screen is awesome. It does have the vertical lines, but I think those can be fixed with a software tweak. The battery is crazy good and the phone has no bleeding key lights. Also the amaze is ugly, did I mention the amaze is ugly?

I so far have loved every single HTC device I have ever owned.... (Ok, I take that back... The HTC Shadow sucked balls... Damn Windows phones) I also don't think the Amaze is that bad of a looking phone... What vertical lines are you talking about... I had read about the screen bleed on the Amaze, but I haven't read anything about vertical lines
I went SGII for divx support. I guess it's not really a big deal though to most but to me it was.
I think the SGII will have a longer life than the Amaze because of developer support.
Plus I had heard that battery life on the amaze is pretty horrible. I wanted to make it through a day of work.

So it's pretty much just the random things that can happen with any phone if you just happen to get the bad apple? And I really don't mean for it to become that, if it does, I apologize to the community... I should just change it to, tell me what you love about your phone, and what you think a con is, if it has any... And leave out the story behind it

You pretty much already know you want the SGS2, but you want to reaffirm the believe by finding out if there's any issues you should know about.

You should definitely get the gs2. I came from the sensation and this is a way better phone. I know the amaze has the bump up in ram and the better camera (compared to the sensation) but I guarantee this phone will blow it out of the water. The sensation I had had no problems besides overheating so I was skeptical about the gs2 being that much better but it is. I also like the build quality of the gs2 which I didn't think I would. Oh another thing is sense is such a memory hog and the novelty of it was cool for the first week but after that I wanted aosp bad. So yea I think you should just go with the gs2 you won't regret it. And the vertical lines aren't really an issue its there but not noticeable in everyday use. I can really say that besides the vertical lines this phone has been perfect.

MKV
I can plug in my one gig hard drive full of 720p mkv movies and play them with out a problem what so evar! My tegra2 transformer cant do that, nor can my playstation, or my 360. Not sure about the amaze. One thing I am sure of between the two we will be getting ICS well ahead. With no crappy overlay, not that I dont like sense, just no point of it. With ICS all widgets are scrollable.
Coming from a sensation,.the sgs2 is a great improvement. The amaze to me is an ugly phone. The amaze also seemed extremely heavy. I could see chipping the elevated glass on the phone, and after going through several sensations, same as the amaze, with different problems well enough said. I'm extremely happy with the sgs2.

You have to know what you want in a phone to make your decision. Both phones has its pros and cons.
Galaxy S II Pros vs Amaze 4g:
Longer battery life, larger screen, louder speaker, does not/barely overheats, 2 megapixel front facing camera, better video playback/audio, no death grip issue with signal (both wifi and data), lighter materials with a premium feel means you can hold the phone in your hand for long periods of time without strain.
Galaxy S II Cons vs Amaze 4g:
Screen resolution isn't as great as the Amaze, the design looks much more rich on the Amaze, the Amaze has a slightly better camera especially in low lighting, the Galaxy S II does not have hardware camera and camcorder buttons like on the Amaze, No LED notification.

Screen resolution isn't as great as the Amaze, the design looks much more rich on the Amaze, the Amaze has a slightly better camera especially in low lighting, the Galaxy S II does not have hardware camera and camcorder buttons like on the Amaze, No LED notification.

Have you tried to go back to non-720p screen

I was using the galaxy tab 10.1 today. Wow, I immediately noticed how the screen is just not as sharp, even though when I first compared the nitro hd to skyrocket a week ago, the difference wasn't night and day. It's amazing how your eyes adjust to the sharpness of the screen. Hard to use non 720p again.

Oh god dude, I decided to use a friends Sensation 4G for a day because I missed the look and feel and Sense 3.0 and that..lasted about 5 minutes haha. Grabbed Launcher Pro Plus and Beautiful Widgets and happy with that.
The sharpness and vibrancy coming from the screen was just..so intoxicating compared to the Sensation..couldn't last with out it. I use the desktop version of Youtube to watch videos now, the app doesn't do the job anymore for me.
While standing in the AT&T store today to get a replacement phone I saw the Skyrocket and Nitro side by side displaying the "Explore this Phone " program and realized there may not be any going back. The display on the Nitro is just incredible!

i think my i9100 screen looks like poop.
I went to the Skyrocket after having this phone and yes, I absolutely miss the HD screen...but for other factors I am totally happy with my exchange. As much as I loved the screen I was having issues with some websites displaying horribly small font which I then had to size and that was more hassle than it was worth at times. I also came to the conclusion more pixels in a small screen isn't always better. Oh well...do I miss the screen? Yes. Did I "go back"? yes. I survived. Lol...I feel like I'm in recovery or something.
Yeah,so I sold my ipad2……

I don't know what he's using, but I am using Dolphin HD for YouTube videos.
I've had my skyrocket since yesterday and while it's blazing fast with no lag at all I miss the nitro screen very much. Hopefully I can adjust to it. I wish there was an international rezound.

Tried it out at an AT&T store, and I must say, that is a damn good screen.
Although, I can't wait for the Galaxy S II HD LTE, that thing is higher res, and is SAMOLED..... OH MY LORD.
It's not higher res by any means. In fact, due to its slightly larger size, its pixel density is slightly lower. The specs are very similar to our P930 here, though.

Disappointed in the Galaxy Nexus

Ok so I have a Galaxy S II for AT&T and I wanted to get the Galaxy Nexus for the hardware acceleration, HD screen, and new OS so I went to Verizon today to check it out. Here is what really turned me off to the phone:
1) YouTube videos are still blurry or pixelated even though the video was in HD. The videos looked better on my phone.
2) The browser is choppy and stuttery. I went to a blog with portraits on wordpress and the Nexus was very stuttery and was not smooth like my GSII. My GSII scrolled down and up the page fine with no lag, buttery smooth.
3) The screen isn't as nice as I thought. My GSII has a lower resolution but it didn't appear that much different to me when comparing. For pictures anyways it seemed like the pictures were soft and when I compared them to my phone I couldn't tell that much of a difference.
Just my take on it. I'm disappointed because I was going to buy the phone on eBay and I was a proponent for the phone but in the end I was let down. Even more happy with my GSII now.

Ever think that the slowed performance could be caused by a bunch of people fondling the phone all day? Also display models are chock full of crap...just a thought

Had an SGSII International on ATT.
Couldn't eBay it fast enough ($500) three weeks ago after my GNEX arrived.
Different strokes, I guess. Touchwiz and low resolution is for the birds.

did you ever stop and think that the videos you see on youtube on your gs2 that look better and native 480p and the ones you watch that are 480p on the nexus might not look as good as the 720p videos on the nexus. big big difference.
It's likely the Youtube was set to low quality. My screen looks stunning. I upgraded from a Thunderbolt which had a decent screen of it's own, but this is lightyears beyond better.
The video I watched was crisp, clear, and had that HD "3d" effect you will see on high quality screens.
The browser is the most responsive I've seen on a phone yet.
The phone has quirks (choppy in some areas), but to say the screen is a reason for concern is beyond my comprehension.

people are forgetting that the Galaxy Nexus isn't the "new" flagship phone from samsung. the galaxy nexus is the "new" flagship for the Nexus line of phones. The galaxy SII is still the flagship for the Galaxy S line of phones. they both have their pro's and con's, but it is only worth buying if you are coming from a last gen phone rather than a current flagship.

Try it when it's loading the page. I went to the site and started scrolling while the pictures are loading. Did it on the GN and GSII, a lot of stutter on the GN, none on the GSII.
I really want the HD screen but I think I'll just sell my GSII and get the GSIII when it comes out next year.

Seriously.....I went with my brother in-law 9am this morning to get this thing....its pretty damn sweet in every respect.....people can slam it all they want but one thing holds true......if you have Verizon....THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PHONE THEY HAVE PERIOD. No other phone has the display the Nexus has....hardware is better than ANY other phone they have.....this ain't up for debate....if you PREFER something else, so be it.....but you are definitely not upgrading to anything better than this. For every bad thing you can say about this phone, I can say five about any other device in Verizon's complete gimick line up.

This. The GN and the GS2 are pretty much in the same league. If you already have a GS2 and don't care much about being on the bleeding edge of Android it's not really worth it to switch.

I kept my SGSII for two days after receiving my GSM GNEX to decide (3 weeks ago).
It was a no-brainier. I sold the SGSII as fast as I could. My thoughts, at least.

Well said. (And since I'm coming from an HTC Thunderbolt, it's safe to say the GN is an upgrade for me, haha).
All the lag issues are pretty well nullified with enabling hardware acceleration.
Did the device the op was testing actually had "Use Gpu 2d accel in apps" selected in dev options? Why all the hate?
Buy whatever you want. Or can afford.

Ditto. Bought a Nexus, the day it arrived I sold my GS2. Haven't thought once about the GS2 since giving it the boot. Nexus is the ****.

Thinking about switching to a GNEX..

Currently have a SGSII on Tmobile but I get 20-25% at Verizon through work so I'm thinking about switching.
Am I going to be dissapointed?

Probably not.
i switch from a sgs2 everything is better but you`ll be dissapointend because of: lagg , can`t play latest games smooth , very low volume loudspeaker, display not so HD like its sad ... poor battery ///
the lte is awsome, youll really enjoy it (when you get a signal lol)
the gs2 was the other phone i really wanted on verizon but after using the gnex since launch i really like it alot, ICS is amazing
mine doesnt lag at all, games work perfectly fine for me lol
Just go ahead !
I just switched from the Sensation to this today, it's a beast!
NO lags whatsoever
My best buy yet.
Put it this way. I'll never buy a non-pure Google/Nexus phone again. And I've owned a LOT of phones (most recently an EVO, SGSII (GSM) and Note (GSM).
None of them beat my former N1/NS/GNEX [GSM] (current). None.
That help?

That may just be your device, cause i have not lag(its actually faster than my Epic 4g touch), i can play Zenonia or any of my other games without a problem, for volume just download Volume+ from the market and that problem is solved, the display is amazing, as for as the battery it's great, if your battery life isn't great then get the extended 2100mAh battery it works great i'm gettin 18+ hours with ease
---------- Post added at 01:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:39 AM ----------
i get a 25% discount too, 4gb of data(which i never completely use in a month), 450 minutes, with free mobile to mobile(with any carrier) for $70 a month, way cheaper then what i paid at sprint
Nothing beats a Nexus.....nothing.

OP, don't listen to this person! I had the T989 and made the switch to the Galaxy Nexus (GSM version) and it's been the best decision I ever made regarding a phone. Sure, there is an occasional gaming issue but that's not because the phone can't run it...blame the app devs. The speaker is a little weak but there's apps to cover this issue and also I believe I read the volume has been increased in the 4.0.4 leak. The display is WAY WAY better than Galaxy S II. My recommendation? Do it! You won't regret it.

I just switched from the TMobile SII to the Nexus - actually won it directly from Samsung. So far I love the phone and don't really have any regrets about switching. I actually have more complaints about Verizon's network than the phone itself. After all the hype about Verizon's 4G LTE network, I expected the network to be better. First day with the phone, 4G was down half the day. Also, I am really surprised in the areas that I am not getting 4G, but rather 3G. I didn't really seem to have these issues with TMobile and 4G never went down. With that said, when I am getting 4G it's super fast.
In regards to the phone, I love the amount of development for it. The SGII's development was pretty stagnate. This is a huge plus for me and one of the main reasons I switched to the Nexus. Not sure if I would ever want to get a non Nexus phone again. In regards to the hardware, I would say I don't notice a big difference between the two. Actually, my Nexus is getting higher scores in Quadrant and Antutu than my SGII. I am not a hard core gamer, so take it for what it's worth. I haven't taken enough pictures with the Nexus to compare to the SGII, however, I really liked the SGII's camera and the fact that it is 8MP compared to the Nexus' 5MP.
HTH
I will only list some of the cons of this awesome phone, so you can maybe decide. The gps is dog slow. The battery life is mediocre even with the extended battery. No Google Wallet out of the box. No sd card slot, if that is important to you. People will bash your device bc they are jealous. Otherwise, it is a fantastic choice on vzw.

Well I've actually had both. I started off with the white Galaxy S2 - boy it was a really beautiful sleek phone to look at. I knew that pretty much all the hardware specs were better on the S2 than on the Nexus, but after a while I was getting fed up with not having ICS (the ICS modded roms ported to the S2 just weren't doing the trick.
So I found someone who took my new S2 and gave me a new Galaxy Nexus. And YES- it had all the same problems the previous poster described: lags, slow gaming, very low volume in both the ear speaker and the loudspeaker, and battery drain.
But the lag/slowness and battery drain was resolved after I installed the AOKP rom, and the loudspeaker was resolved after I installed the Volume+ app. However, the ear speaker is still very low and I have no idea how to make it louder.
That being said, the only two benefits to the Nexus is the larger screen, and that it has the latest Android version. Almost every other spec on it is said to be worse than the S2, including the camera. But I'd pick having the latest Android version over a better camera any day.
One other thing that bugs the hell out of me with the Nexus is that the front-facing cam only records video in 720p---it doesn't allow realtime Skype videochat in 720p or even 640, or even 480. The best I got was 320x240 which is the same resolution I got from my webcam in 2001, eleven years ago. Even the S2 transmitted in 640x480 on Skype.

Truth. The amount of flack it gets out of jealously--mainly because of its name--is ridiculous.
Yeh you'll probably be disappointed with the lag compared to the S2, unless you want to root and install a custom rom on the Galaxy Nexus.
There's hiccups here and there with the stock launcher and I agree. A lil disappointed but believe me is not as people make it out to be and hopefully is a software issue.

I would definitely challenge you on that. I just tried it. I installed it and called myself from my computer. I changed it to HR and then the following appears on the Gnexus screen: "HR: Resolution is Not Supported"
I want this phone so bad, its the only rhing I want ever. Its so expensive though. This is coming from a paycheck to paycheck family. I do the bills I would know. We have 316 dollars in bank with 277 to come out. What remains is what we have. Any chance?
