Best idea for controller for games on my phone? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

With how much i love my phone and how it plays games so smoothly now like dead space im playing alot more games on my phone so im really looking to get a controller for it. I was looking at the Zeemote controller
http://www.zeemote.com/
Anyone use the zeemote and what do they think?
But could i use any game controller with usb as long as i get the otg kernel
[KERNEL]Zedomax T989 Kernel - [OTG USB Host] - Connect USB Peripherals!
So what do i have to buy to make the usb cable fit into my phone using the zedomax kernel??
Any help would be much appreciated???

You can search on amazon or ebay for "MicroUSB OTG" and you will see microusb to usb adaptors, which should do the trick.

You need a custom kernel to support USB On The Go.
Also I have no idea how well OTG would work with a generic USB games controller, or even a wired 360 controller.

i bought this

Bump, any advice anyone?

sadly true! but i thought that a software solution might be possible... that windows mobile is taught to recocnise a keyboard, just as it 'knows' when the headset is pluged in... i'm no programmer btw... so i have no idea what information is recieved or send via the usb cable...
I would look for a bluetooth options as I seriously doubt you will get anywhere with usb

i'm afraid you are correct. but i've heard that these freedom universal bluetooth htc keyboards for example are very slow and quite expensive... so i thought, i ask...
thanks for your replies!
think all bluetooth keyboards would work it's a general std.
of cause that don't necessary mean that the htc device don't
slow things down but nor would it if you used an usb keyboard

Thank you in advance!
I was able to unmount the Samsung SGSII Cardock!!
As we can see, there is a resistor that enables the Cardock mode. Also, there is no connection of line 3 (D+) and 2 (D-) to usb female plug.
Now I have to read more the "Fun with resistors" thread to know if it is possible to mod the dock.
Does anyone know if it is possible to work like this?
The on/off key will be used to enable/disable the cardock mode. The yellow lines describes the new wires that i have to solder.
I decided to remove the smd board and plug a cable direct to the base. It's not the best solution bas it resolves my main issue (no USB data).

USB on the go cable UK

Anyone know of a UK retail shop that sells USB on the go cables? Obviously they are ten a penny on fleabay and the amazon market place but will take ages to get delivered.
Tried the mobile phone shop websites, pc world, maplin etc can't seem to find one. Anyone got any ideas?
I ordered this one off of ebay the other day and it took like 3 days to get delivered:
Works perfectly and good quality. Doesnt fall out of phone like you may think.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280897201...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1174wt_1396
Only ever seen them in market stalls for about £3, but I bought mine from Dealextreme.com for about £1.40 each and a different type that's just a 2cm long plug with micro on 1 side and host on the other for £1.30 for 2.
2-3 Days delivery apparently for this

Received mine from Ebay today works perfectly, really impressed with it and for only £1.99.

new nexus 7 user with some questions

Hello, I've had my 32gb since Jan 10 and I have some questions. Is this normal for an IPS display? It seems fpse won't see my 64gb USB stick. Works fine when ROMs are in internal. Is there some way to tell fpse to check external storage? Would Google play movies and ota work if I'm rooted? Came from Toshiba Thrive which is ancient now.

Ok, so, as far as I know, there's a problem with FLO devices that can't read USB Sticks via OTG Cables.
There's 2 ways to make USB devices work:
1. BUY the app "Nexus Media Importer" from Google Play (and when I say buy I mean you can't hack it, it verifies its' licence with the server, no matter how you patch it)
OR
2. Root your device and install "StickMount" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.stickmount). It will mount your USB Drive and create a new folder in "Internal Memory/sda1/blablabla".
Hope this helped!
If it's just a matter of what dragancia sad, then it's very easy if you use StickMount. External storage gets mounted under /sdcard/usbStorage, and most apps should be able to access. I've never used fpse and can't tell you if needs files to be in a specific directory, like the Kindle app does. Nor have I ever used Nexus Media Importer.

Need help with OTG and USB Y-cable. Don't want to blow my Kindle up.

So basically I would like to use a gamepad with my Kindle.
Would it be safe to attach a USB Y cable to the kindle, power supply and gamepad?
Here's the setup.
Would this work fine? Or will it blow up my Kindle? I'd rather ask before having an expensive paperweight. :fingers-crossed:

EDIT: This is because I read that OTG only outputs 2.5v, so this should work.

even if you hooked it up it wouldnt work, otg is disabled in the kernel. You would have to compile a kernel with it enabled in order to use it.

Thanks stunts.. but I read that some people were able to use low powered devices and others actual made a Y cable (or powered hub) and flash drives, devices, etc worked.
Maybe this is with amazon stock rom, I don't know.
I'm using CM 11.
