Vibrant/i9000 6x Zoom Lens - Anybody tried this? - Vibrant Accessories

I know it looks silly, but im a nerd and a gadgeteer, and i almost want the thing just so my family and friends can lol at me when i break it out. But really, has anyone tried this? If so, how was it? I just might drop $15 on it to see.

I bought one. It works pretty well for what it is. Very inexpensive but effective. I was trying it out recently. Here are two videos taken with and without from the exact same location, one after another.

wow, that is actually not bad at all for a $15 lens. Thanks for the comment

It looks a little....goofy. I came across one a while back, though for iPhone, I would assume it would work.

[Q] Where to buy this Thanko 10x Telephoto Lens ??

Hi
Just saw this Thanko 10x telephoto lens:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/06/10/xperia-arc-gets-10x-telephoto-lens/#more-1407
Sure its a gimmick, but if it is only about €17 (quoted in the article) I'd be interested in trying it out and the stand could be handy anyway. It looks a lot easier to set up than the other one in the Accessories sub-forum here.
Trouble is, I can't find any info about where to buy it (or any Thanko products). Googling brings up some products by Thanko but nothing that helps me get any further.
If anyone has any info or tips about where to get it, I'd appreciate it.
As far as i got with it was at this site:
http://cs-epoch.com/
You will have to contact them for pricing and delivery.
Thanks for the link Macr59 - looks like the one.
But my bad, I didn't realise that the product I'm talking about (the Thanko one) is the same as the other one in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078413
I didn't notice all of the gubbins to clamp it on to the phone at first. It looked a lot simpler and less ugly in black when I first saw it but I think it is the same one.
Anyway, will post back if I get my hands on one.

Nah, those are two different products. The body kits and lenses look completely different.
I'd wait to see some sample pics of the thanko one before i purchased. The one linked to in the other thread has some sample pics, and theyre appallingly bad.

[Q] attachable lenses

Does anyone know if any attachable lenses work on atrix?
http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/cell-phone-lenses/
well that article said that the lens would work on ANY camera phone, so I guess there is your answer.
those actually look pretty cool
if you get one, please post a review!
I don't know. It looks like the magnetic ring that's supposed to attach to the phone itself might cover the flash....

Well if reading right they are made by Bower
http://www.bowerusa.com/catalog.php?item=301|388
and they seem to have two sizes for the base 2.1mm and 2.7mm 2.1 would just be big enough and 2.7 is plenty big enough, but I am guessing that the ones in the first add would be 2.1 or 2.7 at the base... I really do not know.
I think a good solid maybe is the best you are going to get
or email these guys
http://www.digitalkingusa.com/faq.html
they sell them also and just ask what the diameter at the base is..
I do not know why I spent so much time looking into this stuff, I almost never take a picture, ever. No way I am spending money on a lens, but the idea is cool I guess.
oh great more fisheye crap on smartphones...

Except the iPhone 4...lol
iPhone 4 Disclaimer: our sticky lens rings don't play well with your sleek, well designed glass backing. But they work swell with a cover!

Well, I just contacted them with this question. Hopefully they will reply soon Thanks for the post because this is a great find if it's compatible and will be buying the Wide/Macro lenses.

Mobi-Lens

Check out this lens adapter. I ordered one. The best part is, it should work with your next phone too
http://kck.st/QfDkHL
No thanks. Big clumsy plastic cheap looking clothes pin lens for my $700 device? Pass.
I am a girl, so I can keep them in my purse. I didn't want to stick anything to my device to use special lenses. Thought it would be nice that the money wouldn't be wasted when I get a new phone as well. Seems like it should work on all devices. Oh well, to each his own. I'm excited. I will review it once I get it (assuming it gets funded).
The clip is so big. Couldn't they make it much smaller. Looks ugly.
"Want to use it on your iPad? Clip it on. Use it with your iPhone 4S? Clip it on. That sorry brother-in-law of yours who has an Android phone? Yeah, he can borrow the Mobi-Lens from you, but I'd keep an eye on him because you'll probably never get it back. Want a wide-angle view from the camera on your MacBook Air? Yeah, you can do that too." - Steven Sande - TUAW.COM
Anybody that endorses that comment WILL NOT get a single cent from me.

They did not write that. They were merely stating that they were featured on TUAW.com. Its not there fault that Steven Sande is a douchebag.
Walmart sells a Kodak lens adapter that I have on my phone. Its a 2x zoom lens. Works like a charm and is like 15 bucks. It comes with an anchor that I'd double sided sticky do it status on your device. Then the lens itself screws into it.
Mmmmm Jelly Bean

[Request] A picture of your USB port on your One

I know it's a random request, but I think mine might be bent/possibly in there a little twisted. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me or I'm a little paranoid with my brand new phone.
Either way, if you could take a moment and post up a picture, I'd appreciate it
Thank you!
Best I could get. Mine doesn't seem crooked. Hope this helps
Any chance you can get a close up? I'm talking about the metal port itself

That's really as close as I could get without it being really blurry. I tried to get closer but cell phone cameras aren't so good for macro photos
Here's some more, hopefully they help you out. My One is only about 3 days old as well so it's hardly had any charger use.
Hope that helps you.

Take a picture of yours and myself or someone else can tell you if something is wrong
Boom.
It's almost as if the metal part of the charging port isn't centered. I realize I might be splitting hairs here, but I don't want to deal with problems in the future and risk getting a refurb. On the other hand though if I exchange it now I risk getting one with gaps or a messed up camera.
I attached a few pictures. Sorry for the lack of quality, I did the best I could with the gfs 4s.
looks straight enough to me. But I don't go through my phone with a fine tooth comb looking for things to nitpick.
Looks like mine. I have a Sprint variant but it still works and fits just fine.
Honestly it looks just fine to me. And if it's working just fine charging and syncing, that's even better.
I think you should take it apart and visually inspect each and every solder point for symmetry and make sure the ribbon cables lay perfectly flat. If they don't, you should take off, and nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
Mine looks the same way, doesn't bother me, personally.

the bottom part has a curve to it, if you look at the top of the port it is aligned straight across, but if you look at the bottom it appears it isn't centered because of the curved bottom.
case solved.
at lease IMO
Mine is kind of rough. Other issues with the sides/speaker grills nor being flush. I would have never noticed either if I hadn't read this forum. No dead pixels... Its all good.

Extra lens for OPO

Hello ppl
I want to buy some extra lenses for my OPO and I wonder if anyone already tried these.
Are they compatible? What about quality of pictures? Do you recommend another?
Thanks in advance
I do not have experience with the lens pictured above, but judging by the pictures, it should work perfectly fine with the one.
yes. it should work. i have an similar one.
What does the lenses do? Have you a link?

It's just an optical zoom rather than digital. I have one from an old phone that I still use with the 1+, I just hold it in place with my other hand. Think of taking a picture through a telescope.

Where can you get them?
Hello,
I have one, with an extra tripod
not buy them, the lens entrance are too small, and you have to fit them REALLY exactly in the middle of our camera, just one hear size and it's not good, after that, you have to zoom in approx to 1.8x on the phone, because you see the sides of the lens and make a black outter circle...
it's cheap, it's nice on picture, but ultra hard to use in real life ...
There is things you have to see them to believe it ...
Already ordered When they come I give feedback

I say the same. I've been very surprised!!!! jajajaja
I have a set bought on amazon (can't post links yet), and any clip-on lens work fine, but bear in mind that the majority of them mess up with the flash covering it.
