Browser that allows moving along the page WHILE pinch zooming - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Is there a browser that allows you to move along a website as you are pinch zooming?
Currently, if you start to pinch zoom, you are locked to one particular origin point which you can magnify or zoom out off. If you move both fingers in any one direction e.g. both fingers towards the left, the webpage will not show you more of what's to the right of what you are currently viewing.
My Honeycomb tablet, the iPhone, and WP7 are all capable of doing this, so I was wondering if there is anyway to get my incredible 2 to do this as well.

Of you flash miui, its stock browser will. Try miren browser or boat browser. Also give dolphin a try.

So.it does work with boat? That one is very similar to the miui browser.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium

Yup, it does work with boat. I actually had it installed but didn't use it because I thought stock did everything I need, until I noticed this of course. I know it's unrelated, but I've been using the stock ROM... How much do you prefer MIUI over stock? Assuming you are using it of course.

Chrome has become my daily browser since I started using Dolphin with my Nexus One.
With the last update for Chrome and FF09, it's the smoothest browser I've used on Android. However, there are still instances where scrolling is jerky and sometimes scrolling stops working for half a minute. It seems like it only happens when I try to scroll while a page hasn't finished loading, but all of the browsers I've tried seem to have issues with scrolling an incomplete page. Closing and reopening the tab will fix the jerky scrolling.
Chrome also freezes on me forcing me to force stop it through settings -> applications. I cannot reliably reproduce this problem and it is annoying, but the benefits of having access to the open tabs on my computer on my phone outweigh this problem.
I do wish Google would iterate the Chrome beta app as fast as they iterate the desktop version of Chrome beta because I'm assuming they mean for this browser to become to default one on Android and jerky scrolling and freezes is pretty bad.
I absolutely do not know which Chrome people are using that they find "buttery smooth" and "fast". It is a terrible laggy and crappy browser on my end. The last update killed it for me where it only launches to a white screen and just freezes. If and when it does decide to work properly, it's stutters and jib-jabs when scrolling, no flash, just all around terrible. No wonder it's surname is still BETA.
Dolphin browser (mini or HD) puts it to shame, really.
You can also try firefox... It's very smooth, and untill now, I didnt find any problem
I like it but I never use it. No flash is... well, no flash. No plugin support like the rest of em either. you'd think with google being the og devs for android. Could make it all work out.

AOSP browser from ICS on N7 ?

Does anyone think it would be possible to install the default browser from ICS? The jelly bean browser is lacking the very useful and important "read" function that I loved do much.
I tried to copy the browser from my evo lte, but it only crashes.

Did you change to the proper permissions? Did you disable the browser sync app?

Thing is,.I've NEVER.seen that. Ever. Anywhere.
only thing even close that I've seen is pressing menu> dance for offline reading. i have never seen what is described there at all.
Is that a feature built into a certain OEMs included browser? Cuz it's certainly not on my gnex on stock aosp.
Maybe I'll need to go back to ics again just to make sure i am not losing my mind lol. Which i probably am.....
Hmmm, well I know it's on my htc evo 4g lte, so maybe it's only htc phones?

Dolphin flash browser won't pinch to zoom?

II have dolphin browser installed to use flash but iI cannot get pinch zoom to work? it will zoom once with a double tap but that's it... Pinch zoom it's checked in settings but doesn't work when browsing, am I missing something? TIA
running Dolphin Hd certain 8.5.1 (supposedly the correct version to run flash)
Dolphin took out the option to use flash, so it doesn't work at all with dolphin. There was an update for dolphin a few days ago, it's not called "dolphin hd" anymore, did you check and see if there is an update for you in the play store? Also try "dolphin beta". Thats what I'm using now and I'm not having the pinch to zoom issues.

I'm liking FF Aurora. Has some nice add-ons... "Always Zoom", "Taptapwrap", "Adblock", "Desktop by default", and of course flash. Could use a more direct path to bookmarks, but I use home shortcuts for favorites.

Thank You! Honestly, I wasn't impressed with the sgs3.... And I was super mad the u. s. carriers changed the color of the beautiful pebble blue of the international version to the blah metallic blue. Exactly....since I already have the international GNote I didn't think getting the international sgs3 was worth it, not enough of an upgrade, imo. And I paid full price for my sgs2, which will be the last time I fork over $600 for a carrier phone...another reason I didn't get the sgs3.

Browser tests:

And I know it works on some custom Roms, but maybe he is like me only stock experience for daily driver. And rarely some real rom like CM9 for a day or two.

the autofit pages only works for one zoom level on the stock browser, same with chrome & firefox, after which subsequent zooming in doesn't resize the text.
On opera through multiple zooms refits the text.
I never had an issue with text wrapping on the stock rom.
I never needed to change any settings either. My E4GT was preloaded with FF18 ICS when I received it from Samsung repair.

Gotcha. In chrome this is not an issue for me because you can set the zoom level and 115% is perfect for my eyes so I don't move it around unless to look at a graphic or something. I hope you find a workable solution, in past Samsung browsers I had that functionality but unfortunately I'm used to losing options in android upgrades especially in the browser.

One finger zoom feature? ...Grrrrr...

I brought this up as a response in the bugs/fixes thread in General, but thought it deserved its own thread here. I'd like to know if this is a TW "feature" or something else that Sammy or T-Mo has baked into the ROM...
On a zoomable page, such as in a browser or in an email, if you swipe up/down along the left or right edge of the screen it zooms in/out as if using a pinch gesture. It gets really (really really really) annoying to have to be so careful of WHERE my finger is on the screen when I want to scroll and to not end up zooming. Are others being driven crazy by this?
I already spent time with Samsung Support to see if there was a way to toggle the "feature" and they told me I was SOL . I put in a feature request with them to add a toggle FWIW.
(this is on a stock, unrooted T-Mo GN2)
This may or may not be helpful, but regarding Google Maps.. Which you may or may not be using while driving: they recently added a double tap hold, slide up and down to zoom. I'd love that feature to be implemented into browser and others with pinch to zoom, but that's gonna be up to the developers.

I had this issue too. I flashed a different ROM (the hacked ROM by cnmard (forget his username) ) in the development section and it doesn't seem to have this "feature." You can flash the ROM or ask in the thread how to turn it off. But it seems you'll need root regardless....
