32g microsd - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I bought a 32g microsd class10,but the problem is when i try to pass all my files from my other microsd, there a missing files like clockworkmode, and i cant open some of my pictures,i put the micro sd in my inc2 and download the clockworkmode from alpharef or rom manager and i can see the file but incomplet also if i try to pass my stock rom i can see the process but whn i open the clockworkmode and look in the save file there not any stock rom in there,if try to go in to recovery mode dont let me jist reboot and i have to select reboot.if ltry to save my current rom using rom manager its look like is doing something but the download bar dont do nothing, and then i check the saved rom and its in the file but imcomplite i dont know what to do with....thanks...

What is the brand on the card? It may look good, at 32gb class 10, but if its not from a decent manufacturer it may not be worth the small price you paid.
Personally, I stick with pny or sandisk.

I bought another microsd 32g class 10, But this one is PNY and work great i dont have any issue transfering my files.I boughted in Newegg.

Thanks for the FYI on Pny.
I know they are a cheaper brand(price-wise) so I tended to avoid them for more name-brands.

is it a simple COPY > PASTE affair to upgrade to a new card?
i read in the past that other phones used the sd card for swap and such, which needed different procedures to upgrade but the Inc2 doesn't have any of that dependency
i picked up a 32GB Class 4 Sandisk card which should be arriving tomorrow. Hope the upgrade goes as smooth as yours
ps. you should do some benchmarks of your pny class 10 vs the OEM card. as i understand it, the sd controller in our phones aren't rated for class 10 speeds, which is why i didn't bite on the faster (more expensive) class 10 card. it would be interesting to see a comparison though.
you can use something like AnTuTu Benchmark or SD Tools. both available from the market.

This. a class 10 is kinda pointless for a phone. i remember reading somewhere on here about how any card above a class 6 will slow the phone down.
Also that off brand sd card was probably not a 32gb nor a class 10.
I bought something similar off ebay a while back and it ended up being a card that was labeled 32gb class 10 but the benchmark stated it was a 200mb class 2 or something like that. They take these already labeled 32gb class 10 cards which failed the test off the line and resell them as such although they are not.
glad you got your money back

i used AnTuTu Benchmark with the OEM 16gb class 4 card.
read: 4.4 MB/s
write: 16.6 MB/s
the Sandisk 32GB Class 4 card I picked up, according to the reviews, have above-standard write speeds for a Class 4 (something like 5-6MB/s). i'll post up scores when it gets in but i would suggest this one just for it's brand name and consistent reviews

Buy that card from Taobao?

hey guys. i have been trying to migrate over to the 32GB sandisk card without luck. the file transfers over just fine but my phone can't identify where the apps are (the card is recognized in the phone, including the full capacity).
i'm trying to resolve this before doing the benchmark. any help is appreciated!
Ps: i just copy>pasted from the old card to the new card. nothing fancy and no errors. and yes i do use App2SD

I want a 32GB memory card; questions regarding installation

Which 32gb card should I get? I heard there are classes for each.
When I buy one, what is the best method that I should transfer my data from the 8 GB one to the new one?
Is there anything else important that I have to know like reformatting the new card before using it? Will the phone do that already?
Thanks!
I doubt they have the faster classes yet. The 8gb that came with the Evo is a class 2, and for most people that's fine. If you have unusually high bitrate MP3s or something, you might run into issues with a class 2, but you should probably be fine.
Most of the higher class cards are made for cameras and such. RAW on DSLRs are like what, 50+ mb files? You need a fast memory card to be able to take more than one shot at a time.
I always move things from a smaller card to a bigger one via my PC and copy and paste. I usually set up a folder on the desktop, copy into there, then copy that out into the new card. You get a nice backup of your card that way too.
You shouldn't need to do anything special to install the card, just pop it in. If you just copy and paste like I do, the phone won't miss a beat, all your ringtones and stuff will show right back up.
Check Verizon, They were having a spexial, 95 bucks for a scandisk class 2 works fine for all but hiher bitrate stuff. Beware of cheap ones on ebay and such, thay are almost always fakes.
Evo Sent
As far as transfering, copying the whole thing to your pc and back to the new card will be fine.
If you want to be careful about it, snag a windows app that will generate md5 hashes recusively and check on card then on disk and then on new card.

I got this card and I was disappointed in it's performance. I downloaded an SD speed tester from the market and tested my stock 8gb class 2 card and got around 1.75mb/s write time and around 2.5mb/s read time. With the 16gb class 10 (as above) I got marginally better results; 2.28mb/s write and 3.42mb/s read. Better, yes, but I probably would have gotten the same with a class 6 and maybe even a class 4. *shrug* These are only my experiences, maybe you'll have better luck.

it may also be the it isn't the card that is the bottleneck, could be the r/w of the phone. if it can't write that fast, then having a fast card isn't going to do anything but sit there wasted.

[Q] Anyone here use a Class 10 SD card for Android?

I'm looking to upgrade the crummy 1GB SD card in my wife's TP2 to something faster. I was wondering if buying a class 10 card was worth it or if I should just stick with a class 6 or lower. Does the SD slot in the TP2 even support a class 10 card? Would a class 10 card be noticeably faster than a class6?
Not for this project. IIRC Nate said class 4 seems to be the sweet spot, the higher the class the worse it would be running XDandroid, but even some class 4's work better than others. Walmart has 16G class 4 sandisks for around $20, not too bad if you ask me

C10 cards are supported, but some have had issues. I would not recommend a C10 card for Android use. I doubt the phone itself will be any faster...

Cool. Thanks. So get a class 4 then? Is it worth it to get a 16 over a 8GB? My wife doesn't put much on her phone really and she streams all of her music.
Yeah I've got a Patriot 16Gig Class10 SD card that I picked up on sale months ago. I have been running XDAndroid on it since then and haven't noticed any benefit over my old 4gig class 2 card.
Not sure if it's related to running andriod but at first I was having issues with the card corrupting and losing all data on it, having to format it to be usable again. Formatting a few times with the HP tool seems to be helping.
I had a similar issue with my last phone (HTC Hermes) which would only work with good quality (Sandisk) SD cars, and failed with cheap chinese flash memory. The issue was that the phone wasn't able to remount the card properly in winmo when coming out of sleep, and the filesystem would become corrupt pretty quickly with folders disappearing and files having wacky filenames. Sounded like it was more of a hardware issue than anything.

Yea I use a class 4 card. Some have reported oddness with class 6, so it seems like the type of card matters as well... Because others with C6 cards say they work just fine. I've even had some people say C10 cards are fine, but most seem to have issues with C10 cards. Don't get some cheap knockoff, get a name brand.
As for size, that's entirely up to you. You can have up to a 32gb card. 512mb minimum .

Just don't get a C10 card... I think that's what people should take away from this.
Some have said C10 cards are fine, but most say they are not. A few have had issues with C6 cards, but most say those are OK. I've never heard of people complaining about C4 or below cards - hence the reason I recommend anything C4 or less.
c10 sd android
My company name is WinDroidz and all I do is mod android and windows devices... and I have always seen huge performance gains with c10 cards, c2 sucks major, its just the transfer speed the card can move data at and clearly more speed no matter how u look at it with an SD card. Is crucial... I always used patriot c10, or topram and pqi c6 cards for android SD on windows devices and have only seen a posative result.. this is based on my personal experience of Modding more Devices then I can remember.... not from what I read somewhere or was told by someone... SD card data transfer is the slowest method of data transfer of all other common used methods... there are graphs if u Google it that show sdhc c2 cards lined up against other transfer methods like USB, ide, sata etc..... to put in perspective how ridiculously slow SD cards really are, once u see that u will understand why your phones drags ass so much when trying to pull up gallery after cache has been wiped if you have a ton of pics etc.... so if u are having problems with a higher class SD its probly not the SD and is something else you are doing, or maybe the brand as I can only vouch for the ones I've used... (wouldn't care personally about brand as pretty much everything is same manufacturer with restamped brand and packaging.. Kingston is Japan... currently using a c4 Kingston 32gb in my desire HD (wish it was a c10 but kinda pricey for that size and brand) I recommend c10 8gb for $30 on Amazon if u are using some kind of android SD rom.. or any device if u want better transfer speeds and it is very noticeable... no matter what speed u get though it will never run like nand android.. like HD2. So lets just hope the nand development for other devices continues like clk or magldr did for hd2 cause the hd2 with clk and full rom manager support is amazing
16GB class 10
Using 16GB class 10 and have had no problems related to the card, with FRX07.
I personally cannot think of any logical reason why a class 10 card of good quality should ever be a problem.
I just installed and ran Angry Birds Rio. It is slow, but works. Kind of fun to play in slow-mo!
i use 8gb c6 and haven't had any problem so far.

If card reader of desire is slow, on level of Class 6, if you put Class 10, doesnt change anything, but why "is not so good"?
I can safely say that my 32 GB class 6 has no issues. I've been reading on the subject and for some devices the class 10 is flaky... might just be a firware/software issue. Who knows.
But I'm ok with my class 6. Write: 9mb/s and read 24.3m/s
Ok so after everything last night I ended up keeping the kingston class 4 instead of the wintec class 10.
One thing that everyone should know if they are planning to upgrade soon and have forgotten this. The speed to write to a micro sd is slow then the speed to copy from a micro sd. This is my experience last night at least... I can copy a certain file to my desktop in 40 seconds but to put it on took 2-3 minutes.
Anyways, just be patient and go to a place you can get refunds so you dont get screwed with a bad card lol. With my experience the 32 gb class 10 wintec sucks, the write speed was insanely slow. So I stuck with a name brand instead, I really wanted a sandisk but they werent available.

Thank You: I can confirm this.
I had to put a SD in my old DesireZ/Vision for one of my son (10 years... there's no religion....) to replace a old 4GB crashed one.
The phone is running SenseI ROM (fine ROM: a very good way to replace the stable CM7 and run ICS 4.0)
I bought on Amazon Samsung EVO uSD 16GB Class10... and it was not recognized... So I read it on the PC to see if is was good or not: it was OK!
Recovered the trouble upgrading the Galaxy S2 of the other son from a old 8GB class 4 (probably Kingston o Transcend) to the brand new 16GB EVO Class 10, and putting the old 8GBB in the Desire Z: quickly recognized and optimally mounted both cards over both the 2 phones!
But I was disappointed... more than speed performance I thought that Class 10 memory card were also better on quality, due to a more robust and stable architecture of the chips inside.... and
much more recommended for the "systemdisk-like" use on Android Smartphones!

so then you got errors using a class 10?
I recently purchased a PNY 32GB Class Ten MicroSD card with SD adapter for about $65. Pretty damn good deal considering the class speed of the card and the SD adapter being thrown in. Been rockin' it for about two weeks and haven't had any problems whatsoever

higher class number means higher write speeds, but that doesn't always mean better read speeds.
IMO higher class cards are better when your doing photography and video stuff
I read my card more often than write to it so a lower class card with better read speeds is better for me.

I got a sandisk 32GB class 4. It is plenty fast enough. I record pics/video to onboard phone storage anyways. I store vids, music, etc on the sd card and it reads very fast. I haven't move any apps to sd card because we have plenty onboard memory.
what's a good price for a 32GB class 4 microSDHC? i've been waiting for about 2 weeks for a deal to be posted on SD, but haven't seen one yet.
amazon is selling a sandisk for $37. i'm wondering is i should just buy this?
Bestbuy has the Kingston class 4 32gb for 42.99? Do you all think that's a good deal? I know amazon has the Sandisk 32gb class 4 for 37, but i has mixed reviews.

Yeah just came across that on slickdeals.
Is the 1saleaday site legit? As far as this being a actual SanDisk card?

[Q] Please. Which Micro SD Card? Galaxy Note 10.1

I bought my first tablet - Galaxy Note 10.1, 16g, a week ago. Latest updates to 4.1.2. I have searched the net, watched video's, read till I'm blind, called Samsung(No Help There), and walked away totally frustrated more than once. All the tech stuff about Class #,(4 verses 6 or 10) type, Samsung verses Sandisk, exfat, HC, HCCX, HCl, on & on.. It would all be fine IF there was a general favorite.
I want to buy the best functioning, best peformance micro 32 g sd card for general all around enjoyment the Note will best utilize.
Please, please suggest the best 32g sd card for the Note. Please be specific with brand, class, and type. I have learned so much from you folks. I am glad I found this site for most all my concerns. I will certainly thank you for taking your time to suggest the most appropriate purchase.:fingers-crossed:
Well, to keeo it short and sweet. First off, some have gotten it to accept a 64gb card but with a certain formatting and process to go through.
In my experience, I got this 32gb card for 22.00 on sale at a local wholesaler. It was accepted by the n8013 without any difficulty.
Sandisk worked for me.

It really doesn't matter as far as class goes and the tab does take up to a 64gb card easy enough. I just bought a SanDisk 64gb Class 10 card off NewEgg for $54.99 on their Shell Shocker deal of the day thing. You just pop the card in, go to settings, storage, scroll down to SD Card and format SD card. Basically it's just a FAT32 format, but whatever...
Anyway, that's it. After that you are all set to use it.
I also have a SanDisk 64gb Class 10. The class doesn't make a difference, all current cards will perform the same. You won't notice a performance difference on the Note. You just need to format to fat 32, as the other poster suggested. I would also buy from a reputable seller because there are a lot of knock offs with fake labeling on them. I got mine from Best Buy for $56. The 32 gb was around half the price.
A lot of people go with Sandisk because of reliability and price.
i have sandisk 64gb class 10 bout it from ebay £42 and converted it to iternal memory thanks to zedomax hack i have 64gb iternal memory

Ok Folks, I can not thank you enough for your time and advice. But I will anyway, Thank You ALL for responding. :good:
New Egg jumped back up to $80 and Amazon was $65 and then sold out while I was checking a few things..... So I ordered the Sandisk 64g HDXC SDSDQUA-064G-U46A. I just hope it works when I put it in the Note. I may be back for help if it is not as simple as you say. Then if it is, I hope I can intall APPS on it with out restrictions to space and all will be Dandy, right?
After a week of trying to find a case-Moko Slim fit, sd/usb/micro usb adaptor-JUICED Systems GT401-01, screen protector-ClearPleax, and now micro SD card, I am exhausted! Still need one of those mini keyboards, but need to decide if rf or bt is the way to go. Now I just need to learn how to use all the neat stuff on Note...I think I will be ready to use it for work..& fun. Thanks Again.
Using 64Gb sandisk class 10 ( black friday around 40usd ) - works fine..

Hey Jerry,
You only get notified if you subscribe to the thread (in response to your PM). Anyway, as I said, the formatting the Note uses for MicroSD is FAT32. You don't need to turn it off to insert the SD, but when you eject it, you would want to go into setting, storage, and unmount SD card.
You don't need partitions, but because it's FAT32, you are limited to 2GB or smaller files.
Anyway, that should answer the SD questions.
As for the keyboard, I have the Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Android. Works very well, comes with a tablet stand sorta built in the case, and it's full sized, so typing on it rocks. Costs $70-80 though.

False. I have a stock note 10.1. So does my mother and father. We all are running 64gb sd cards out of the box. Class 10 sandisk 64gb. Absolutely no formatting necessary. Plug and play.

From what I understand, you cannot install and run Apps from your SD card...
According to another poster here 'From what I understand, you cannot install and run Apps from your SD card...' I know some apps may not be willing to load from an extrernal card for some vendor reason, but that is the exception, is'nt it? For the most part, we can load, install and use apps with the 64gb card we ordered right? I know I have held off loading apps because I want them on the ext sd.

I have had the same success with three gt-n8013 notes. Its a complete falsity that the 64gb class 10 san disks need to be formatted to work. Plug and play.

Sandisk 32gb Class 10 heres a link http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micro...&qid=1358903514&sr=8-2&keywords=32gb+micro+sd
Class 10 has faster data transfer speeds way worth the extra $6-8.
had a SanDisk 16GB and it went sour. never bought one tho somehow got them all for free
edit: they did replace it for free also, but I lost all my data on a so called reliable card

Got it today. worked without doing anything. 59.4g. How can I confirm the format is FAT32 or exFAT? I have read that it can be either?
