My browser crashes all the time - Acer Iconia Tab A100

It crashes usually when I'm submitting a reply to a forum making me lose my whole letter. But it's not limited to just hitting the submit button.
Does anyone else have frequent browser crashes or know what might be causing it?

No. I have only had the browser crash once or twice.

Since the update, I've been having lots of browser freeze-ups in the stock and dolphin hd browsers. The browsers don't crash, they just freeze for several seconds. But yesterday my stock browser crashed about three times when I was trying to pay bills. Did you get the 3.2.1 update? If so that could be the culprit.

This happens to me all the time with Dolphin HD and the stock browser:
The error that pops up offers to force close or to wait. If I wait, the error disappears and the browser continues as if nothing had happened. It seems to happen when I try to scroll or click before the page has completely loaded - i.e., when the loading line is still displaying.
Is that the kind of crash you are experiencing?
I have been trying Opera Mobile for a couple of days, and it has not yet crashed on me (crosses fingers).

No, I don't get any kind of error message. I just get kicked out to my home screen and when I open the browser again all my tabs are gone.
Yes, I did download and install the latest update but these crashes were happening even before the update.

Try something along these lines
Settings>Applications>Manage Applications (and go under "all" tab)
Now, look for the internet browser app there and click on it. Some info on the app should pop up (size, cache, data, etc.) Now click on "clear data" and confirm. (Note, clearing data will do just that, clear ALL user data on that app) now relaunch the browser and try to recreate the crash...with any luck, this will have fixed it

Every problem I had went away when I installed Opera browser. No more crashes. No more stuttering, choppy YouTube videos. Working select text, copy, and paste. No more bumping the wrong links or accidently closing on-screen keyboard because I hit the spacebar wrong. No more opening windows because my finger accidently strayed across the screen. Everything just works now. Boy am I glad I tried Opera. If you're having any of these issues I suggest giving Opera a try.

I wish I would have listened to you sooner but I was getting no error message. Oh well. Better late than never.

Dolphin Loading Blank Pages on Google Results Links

AT&T S3 rooted but stock ROM. Ever since I loaded Dolphin a few months ago, sometimes Dolphin starts failing to load a page when you click on a Google search result. I'm guessing it may not be specific to Google but simply specific to any link to a site that does a subsequent redirect (since search result links go to Google then redirect.) If I recall a restart clears things up. But once it starts doing it, the only way I can get a result link to not bring up a blank page is to open it in a new tab.
Anyone experienced this or have any ideas as to a solution?
Have you tried another browser to be sure it's not dolphin having issues?

Ya try the same lunks in stock browser or chrome or what ever u choose. If they work there clear the app cha he for dolphin. Maybe uninstall and reinstall as well

It has something to do with cache, history, etc. As when I clear everything it works again but then does it again. This is with only 2 or 3 tabs open. It only happens with Google results links (iow, happens with redirect links.) I tried re-install. It only happens with Dolphin. Don't get this issue with Dolphin on my Nexus 7, only my Galaxy S3. Seen at least one other person have this issue but it seems somewhat rare.
I noticed I have it set to cache to SD card. Turned that off. Will see if it makes a difference.

[Q] App refreshing

Don't know if anyone else is having this problem but it seems like my apps are constantly refreshing. While I'm in them. It's becoming a real annoyance and I can't figure out why. I'm unrooter, ATT and running TWRP. I've tried restarting and clearing the cache. I don't know how to really explain what's happening but a couple of examples are:
I was in kik. Typing a message, keyboard closes and app goes back to conversations page. Kept doing it, same in snapchat or in chrome page keeps refreshing. Same thing as when i was using the android central app. It just kept refreshing. I know android system webview or whatever it's called was causing some issues so I uninstalled updates on that but it didn't help.
Anyone have any suggestions.
It seems to be slightly worse on wifi. Don't know if that helps at all
Disregard, troubleshot it to ****ty internet connection.

Chrome - crash to desktop

7.1.2 Pure Nexus.
I've been running this ROM for a couple of months but in the last 48 hours I've been getting a very low success rate typing URL or clicking on links in Chrome.
Often when I try to open a website I get thrown back to the launcher with no error message. Reopening chrome finds that my last page is gone, or my last search is not even in recent searches.
I'm getting the behavior from the persistent search bar, chrome browser and chrome custom tabs.
I've tried rebooting but no change, getting real hard to use the browser or Google search anything and it's not even acknowledging the crash.

Virus?

My wife and I both started experiencing the following: when we open eBay on her Pixel 2XL Google browser a "Congratulations..." pop-up from "www.facebook.com-appple.com" soon follows. We are able to exit out of this by clicking the back (triangle pointing left) icon. We then each go into out history settings and clear browser, cookies, etc., only for the pop-up to again show up when we open up the mobile eBay.
Can someone please help?
You don't say whether you're rooted or not. In any event, this isn't a virus. This is a browser hijack perpetrated by the webpage itself. This means that either you have the ebay page displaying ads - in which you got a bad ad - or the page you are going to is made to look like ebay but is designed to send ads to the browser. If you have the ebay app, does it generate these popups there? Have you tried Adguard (assuming you're not rooted) or AdAway (if you are rooted)?
Not rooted and only when I use the Chrome browser. Just installed the eBay app and no popup. I'll try the non rooted app that you suggest to clean up if anything is there.

Any luck? I just went ahead and got the ebay app, so that I wouldn't use the browser when I wanted to search ebay.
Solution
I was having the same problem.
I have an LG G6. When I used Chrome to get to ebay (not the ebay app) I was increasingly redirected to "facebook.com-appple.com" with the Congratulations popup. Sometimes it would speak "Congratulations." It made Chrome unusable.
I tried the following apps but they did not fix the problem:
Malwarebytes
Stubborn Trojan Killer
Virus Cleaner (Hi Security)
What appears to have worked (time will tell) was to clear all data, memory, and cache associated with Chrome.
Settings>Apps>Chrome>select Force Stop.
Settings>Apps>Chrome>Storage.
Clear all data, cache, and storage for Chrome (be merciless).
Restart phone (crucial to do this).
When phone restarts, open Chrome. You will have to sign in to Google. At this point, I chose to turn OFF all syncing options for now. I will experiment with that later.
So far, nothing from "Facebook/Appple" all day. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Let me know if this works for you.

Question Apps shut down unexpectedly

I have this persistent problem of apps (mainly browsers) shutting down suddenly without apparent reason. There is no force close dialogue, just the app closes and I find myself on the home screen. Mainly affects browsers like Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi and a couple other apps.
Happening since Autumn last year when I got the device. Did factory reset. Now running Beta 12L, same story. Can't find the culprit. Happened again when I was typing this message in Vivaldi browser. Very frustrating...

I suggest you do use the Flash Tool, enable the wipe and force flash options. During setup (just to test), uncheck "Device Settings" and "Apps". If the crashing was consistent, this should resolve it.
Or you could go to settings, system, users, and create another profile with your google account, don't restore any apps or settings and test it there...
Thank you for your input! I am trying less invasive option first. I have created another user and now testing it. Will update later with the outcome.
