Strange! very strange!!!! - Droid Pro Android Development

Ok! I've send my european droid pro to motorola assistence (in italy)!
Because I've broken my bootloader upgrading my european with american's sbf (very stupid...)!
They send me an European (or american?) Droid pro with Verizon software!! And it is full unlocked!!
The baseband radio is not the same from my other american droid pro (I've 2 droid pro...) European is n-01.1b.03r, american is n-01.81.00r. Can i extract the baseband?
If i send you my nandroid backup, can you unlock your verizon droids pro? I'm upgrading to gingerbread now...!
sent from my Motosola!

I don't know anything about what developers can do, but I don't think the nadroid backup backs up the radio (at least it doesn't restore it if it does, which makes me think it doesn't back it up either). There must be some way that people do that, I just don't know what it is. I'm also not sure what it means by being unlocked. Normally unlocked just means you can use it on GSM bands, but that doesn't mean you can use it on american bands. That was a whole separate lock file. I guess the way to be sure is to put an AT&T chip in it and see if it works in the US. The best place to maybe ask is on the TBH site since they were the ones to unlock it previously (http://goo.gl/6NuuG). Unfortunately XDA doesn't really cater to the motorola development, so I don't know if we have any dev's actually patrolling these forums.

Are you talking bootloader or radio?

I've bricked again my european pro upgrading to gingerbread with verizon update. I've spoken with a motorola's man that said me that they didn't reflash my droid! but only opened and closed my motherboard ( I don't know the real name in english...) and the phone start up again! they didn't flash my phone! and so the verizon's froyo was mine sbf that I tried to put!!! but when come back my phone was ok, but with Verizon sw...
and so I tried to upgrade to gingerbread with verizon's update... and then after 2 update my phone went to corrupted bootloader...

Convert a H815T to UK (euro version)

Can you convert a H815T (Hong Kong) version to a UK (Euro) version using the correct files when rooting? So if I use the International H815 10c Version files will this change it to Euro verions?
What do you mean by Euro version? What do you want to change? I don't think you can do what you want by flashing a different system image.
I think he's looking for root? Same as myself.

I'm not so sure.
But if you have the H815 you can root using the international files posted in the root thread.
Too many versions if the 815. I don't believe the 815t is rootable yet.

Yes it is.
Yeah I was asking if the H815T you could you use the H815 files and you can.
I could get the H815T cheap but found a selling the H815 for the same price so I don't need this anymore. Only if LG could stop making a million different variants and confusing people
But thanks for all your help guys.
I bought the H815T because of band 40 support, which Optus uses.
I used the international H815 10c image to root mine.
Optus are shipping the H815T, Telstra are shipping H815K (which is missing quite a few bands compared to the T). I have one of the Optus H815Ts. Im not prepared to flash a slightly mis-matching system.img and would much prefer to make my own. Ive not let the firmware update yet, and the download mode shell works. But the recovery block device isnt present preventing TWRP from being flashed in.
I dont think 'converting' a H815T to a euro would help with the unlock at all, because I think the key is not a flag but a hash (unconfirmed, the hex key gen thing could be a bluff) and the hash is generated after LG lookup your device ID. Even if you changed to the euro firmware, I think LG would still consider your device a 'T'.
I have been looking for a root method for the T version but it dosent appear possible yet.

This is correct. Were going to be waiting a while for a bootloader unlock. Telstra/ Optus certianly wont release one so were relying on someone to claim the bounty and figure out an exploit.
Just FYI if your looking for ROOT you can use the Low Effort Root and flash a euro version, but you wont be able to unlock the bootloader.
Also if you just want Marshmallow on your Telstra or Optus phone you dont need to unlock the bootloader, you can simply run LGUP and flash the 20b files to it. (you cant have Marshmallow and root as far as I'm aware)
Anyone in this thread have h815k original system.img file? or a rooted system.img file? Reason is I flashed the 10c version for root but now I want to run LGUP so I need to reflash to stock and I didnt backup (silly me).
Let me know thanks guys

Unlocked VS US Cellular

My G4 was sold to me as "unlocked". There was no mention of US Cellular and the battery door nor boot screen shows any US Cellular logo. Model number is LGUS991 and software version is us99111a. To my understanding this is not the US Cellular model, but rather an unlocked model different from the US Cellular one. Upon emailing LG about why I can't receive an ota update for MM they told me its because I am not using US Cellular service which got me thinking that maybe this is the US Cellular phone. A Google search just yieleded me a result about root that said "LG G4 carrier models can now be unlocked like the unlocked model"......I could've sworn with all my reading that the damned unlocked model was the one that had trouble being rooted yet searching google it appears to be the other way around as if the unlocked model already had easy root for a while and yet looking around the sub forums here at XDA I see no root method for my model or any roms.
Again I'm pretty sure this is the straight unlocked model I have and NOT the US Cellular one........so WHAT can I do with it? And why would the ota for MM not be appearing? (i don't want it anyway with all the issue people have had but am just wondering). Sorry to make these posts but the info is all over the place. Can't seem to find the correct answers.

I dont know that that is US Cellular. The answer seems unclear. Like i said my battery door contains no logo nor do i have any bloat from them or a boot screen from them. Also, i understand the difference between an unlocked phone and an unlocked bootkoader lol.

Hello carnivalrejectq, were you able to root your phone even I have this same problem with my LG G4 US99121a.
How can I root my phone ?
Negative, you have a Rent a Center G4.
10A = Unbranded G4
10C = US Cellular
11A = Rent A Center
LG is full of **** when they say the updates only come with a SIM card for this phone. The only way to get an update is via WiFi if there is even an update to be had. My unbranded US991LD updated to 21A without a SIM card connected to WiFi even while the morons at LG were telling me otherwise. You can't get an update from USC if it's not even a USC phone!

MM can't be rooted without an unlocked bootloader, so no. There are some possibilities, but I got stuck with the modem not working. I am able to downgrade our phone to 5.1 and root. The process to downgrade and root basically converts our phone to an LS991...but it breaks the modem. There is no TOT file with all required files to completely restore our phone...I'm not willing to send my phone back to LG again.

Flash LG G7 to unlocked carrier version

Hello forum, I have much experiences with mobile technology and computers however, this has me mind boggled. I've flashed my LG tablets and LG G3 phone to various firmware versions. I now use a Samsung S9+ unlocked version that can be flashed to any carrier firmware at Best Buy with the Samsung reps however, I have a Sprint LG G7 that I purchased for my son and I want to move him to Verizon. I called LG and they told me first that I have to get Sprint to unlock it then I can take it to geek squad and they will flash it for me. I called geek squad and they told me they don't do that. I start looking on the internet and from the looks of it, I see people with trial and error on doing this. My question is this, since this phone is basically the same version as a CDMA unlocked phone and can be used on various other network, why am I unable to find anyone who has easily flashed this model to a full unlocked variant or to a full Verizon firmware flash? I'll pay someone to do this or show me the exact steps without bricking my phone. I mean, I can probably un brick if that happens but I need experienced help from techy to techy. Thanks

LG G8 [email protected] Android 10 update outside US...

So I have my v35 actually going to be discarded, and I decided to buy a cheap G8 from [email protected] and I am confused about the Android 10 update... Some users reported that if the phone is on Pie and skip all the set-up for first time and connect to wifi without any sim card they have upgraded their phones to Android 10, other suggested that they changed the time zone and it worked eventually, others reported that they got a [email protected] sim card and they inserted and after a couple of minutes or hours the update will automatically downloaded.
As someone who live outside US I import my phones because they are way cheap than here in my country and I have enough knowledge of flashing software as I did with my v35 also that was or it is [email protected] But now I see that the Android 10 kdz is on the LG site for flash? As I had to or wanted to install Android 10 on the current v35 as it is unlocked I had to flash the korean version...
My question is if I can flash using LG bridge the current Android 10 kdz or it's not possible on the [email protected]? Or I need to buy the [email protected] sim card or how the heck it's the correct way to upgrade the phone? I have to sim unlock the phone first or should I have to do without sim unlock?

Sorry, there's basically no way to update. You can't cross flash, and at&t doesn't provide kdzs. The only way to is to buy an at&t sim, but you have to activate it, which costs like another $60, and you need to actually connect to at&t, which can be done practically nowhere outside of the us I think
Mmm even with the official page of LG having Android 10 kdz? They are listed as unknown and CAN, and some of them are listed as US too, just wondering if I had to do the same as I did with the v35, which also as being of at&t and unlocked it was never going to receive the Android 10 by ota. I just flashed the korean kdz and it worked and of course it is different.
https://lg-firmwares.com/es/lg-lmg820um-firmwares/
The thing about activating I guess I can't as I am outside USA and by $60 I could anyway it's way cheaper than paying retail prices here for $800

You can't cross flash, end of story. Lg put in new hardware locks against it
Ey pardon for insisting but... T-Mobile and Verizon are way easier to update or it's the same mess as at&t version? Saw a couple of them unlocked one of T-Mobile and the Verizon one seems black listed but for overseas in my case works.

I don't know if they work overseas when they're blacklisted; I wouldn't be too sure of that. Those variants should be fine because t mobile and Verizon provide kdzs, so you can always update manually
Yeah I asked on Reddit and people say T-Mobile updates ota and are on Android 10 and of course they advised me never again buy any at&t variant and even Verizon can update also ota.

Any Guide to Unlock Bootloader or Change the Official ROM to a different one?

Hi there, so about few months ago like back in August, I got myself an LG Wing after LG announced that they were going to close the mobile division. I live in Malaysia and I asked help from a friend in India to help me get one and send it over.
After getting it in my hands, and after I inserted the SIM, it says Network locked. I bought the phone unlocked but it turns out, the phone needs to be used with a SIM from the same country, perform a 30 minutes call and then it would become unlocked.
Given that I stay in Malaysia, its impossible for me to travel all the way to India to unlock a phone. That said, is there any way I could perform either one of the following?
- Get the Unlock Pin to be able to use with other network?
- Change the India Official ROM with a different country ROM perhaps?
Thanks!

Currently no method (yet) to unlock bootloader and install ROMs or GSI images, unless you get lucky like one member did here and get a demo model that's already bootloader unlocked from factory
