I have a NS4G so I've had a chance to play around with the SDK port and I have to say it's ****ing gorgeous. WOW!

haven't found 4g yet but calling, GTalk, all apps download, touch screen good...let me test messaging...Edit...messaging and Wifi working too. May be only Bluetooth and 4g not working. Will try Bluetooth and look for 4g

Visually seeing the phone with the OS is keeps the people who cry foul away. But what I am not understanding is that this is the nexus s.... and this is the touch forums... had me looking for the download to flash on my touch till I seen the nexus s mentions....

Oh my epic has been so jealous. The other day I got a nexus s 4g for my gf and put ics on it. Man I cant stop using her phone and she does not understand what she has in her hand. Using this makes you see how much touchwiz sucks and there is no need for it anymore.
If Google was not whoring itself to anybody and had standards we would probably all have this already.

Agree... For this to be the best phone on Sprint and one of the best phone on Android, Im surprised we dont have it yet.
I wonder if there will ever be a day when all high end android devices get updated at the same time.
I guess thats what the Nexus brand is for though...

I was trolling through their forums and they are waiting for the OTA for ET4G so they can have ICS with Touchwiz.

Until aosp roms support 4g I can't use them. The 3g in my area just does not cut it.
To op, there are ics themed launchers in the market. The source was released, so in a few weeks expect to see a ton of launchers based on the actual code.

Easiest way to brick?

Ok I know some of you are probably wondering what type of question is this lol.. Last night I had a few drinks and dropped my phone, now I have a cracked screen at the bottom right of the phone. Called my friend (works at sprint) he said he can't swap it out just because of the screen but told me if I brick it he can swap it out, all I have to do is blame the new ota update when I come in so his manager gives the approval. So what's the fastest way to get a BLOD? Would removing the wire while running a sfhub OC do it?? I just can't live with a cracked screen ima go crazy!!!

Yeah. In the middle of an Odin update remove the cable. That should do the trick.

He said he can give me a discount on a gs3 but I'm not sure I want to make the jump. I love the phone but to leave Wimax when I have full coverage for an LTE device that probably won't see LTE for a year or two sounds dumb.. Think I'll just stick with another gs2!

"Hook up" at sprint is not equal to the "right" thing to do... I don't think he was jealous as much as he was pointing out what you are attempting to do could be considered/is fraud... I'm not passing judgment on you but perhaps if you're accident prone you may want to consider adding insurance to the line, which is the route many of us around here take... additionally no one is forcing you to live with a broken screen, replacements can be found on eBay for reasonable prices and to change it it's just 9 Phillips head screws and 3 cables to unplug/ replug... not super hard to do... lastly I hope I didn't accidentally mispell anything in this reply as I wouldn't want to feel the wrath of the grammer nazi fraudster...

Yes, I'm jealous because you lack the intelligence to figure out something so trivial, I'm also jealous because "YOUS" to broke to pay to have a screen fixed. Also....I'm jealous that you have a friend that works for sprint, actually extremely jealous. I only have a brother and two close friends that work for sprint.
How does one go about getting only one friend that works for sprint and then begin to radiate this sprint branded swag that clearly creates uncontrollable amounts of jealousy because of said friend?

"YOUR" absolutely right. Myself and others don't mind the cost of insurance going up because of false claims.
That's the problem with this world instead of holding people accountable for their actions, their stupidity is excused with acts such as these (eg. Ins cost goes up). Same concept as welfare. How many of us are ecstatic that our stolen tax dollars go to funding that?

Wow you guys still at it while I already have my new epic touch in hand lol. I have insurance for as long as I've been with Sprint, which is almost ten years now and I have only claimed twice before in the past.. I don't hear Sprint *****ing about all the money they have taken throughout the years for insurance I hardly ever use. Or how about these ****ty 3g speeds they give us? I don't hear Sprint saying they would give us a credit for all the money we put in their pocket for data which is barely usable.. Some of you are too funny! I don't use roms im always stock rooted with sfhubs OC. I went back to eg30 non rooted then did all the ota's b4 I bricked it. Thanks tho!

Do you guys think it is worth buy a used epic touch and getting rid of my nexus s I'm told the epic touch isn't much better than a nexus s? I was also told its a pain to flash but could it be more than a pain than the epic 4g i used to have? Please your thoughts.

Ok its better than nexus.
Flashing is as easy as it can be if you follow word to word instructions and make sure you are on a safe kernel.
I would not trade my e4gt for any older phone. So.. I would get it. Its your decision in the end.

The epic touch is a damn good phone. I never had the Nexus S so I can't compare it but I will say I'm very happy with it. Its easy to flash and work with and gets decent battery life.

It's a better phone than the s but it's a hard time to recommend buying another phone. I don't think it's enough of an upgrade that I wouldn't wait a few months to see what's dropping for the holidays. What specifically aren't you happy about on the s?

I have issues with my phone running out of ram I use my GPS for work and if I get a call its causes the GPS to hang for up to 30 seconds and when you drive in Boston that can't happen. Also the radios in the s well suck.

I recommend the Epic 4G Touch. It's not 720p like some newer phones but the SAMOLED+ is amazing.
It's super snappy, plenty of RAM, enough built in memory, awesome camera.
IMO it is the iPhone killer.

Epic 4g Touch is a great phone. My only gripes are that resolution could be a little larger for how big the screen is and the radio could be a little stronger (but part of that's sprints issues). I guess no lte either but that won't be available for a while anyways. But other than that its an awesome, correct me if I am wrong but I think it was the best phone on the market for a while. It may not be as fast as the latest and greatest phones but its good enough for me.

For me, I would only upgrade to the galaxy nexus. The e4gt will be a bit better but might as well go loads better

I bought my son a Nexus 7 today for Christmas (go to hell iPad) and what's the first thing I do? What else? I take it, unlock it, root it, and install PA... Because he's familiar with PA. He likes the wallpapers lol. But seriously? What possessed me to do such a thing?

In addition to ordering the GN2s I got the missus and her mom the iPad mini.
It's really the short term solution for the Surface Pro - and my apology for losing her iPod Nano.
And for her mom - I'll cut her some slack. She's getting a GN2 next year and it's her first venture into newer technology

I got my gf's dad a bluray player and he flipped because he didn't have any blurays. It took me about a week to convince him its backwards compatible with dvds :facepalm:

I got my son a white E4GT for Christmas .. (No LTE coverage here so didn't go for S3 yet) and before it was even wrapped I had it rooted and flashed to JB

Bought my son a hobby helicopter. Took it out of the box the minute UPS delivered it and flew it around the house

Got me and my oldest son matchinf gTab 2 10.1s opened em up, rooted, put on aokp, and restored all his games and apps from tibu, charged and wrapped his. Couldnt put mine down so it never saw the box again after 5mins of being outside the store doors. I mean I had to make sure EVERYTHING worked and we'd like em right? At least that's what I told the ball and chain

Did the same last year when my brother got an old Evo 4G for Christmas. He didn't get to use it the first day until I was done installing CM7. Ditto for my other brother's iPhone. I'll be dammed if there's an iPhone in my house that's not jailbroken.

within 2 weeks of me learning about rooting and custom ROMs I rooted everyone's phones and tabs in the house and put the best rom i could find on them and made the default launcher Apex loll....now my siblings' friends at school want me to do it to their phones and i'm like $10 a pop! haha just kidding
