[App] Phone Finder - Windows Phone 7 Software Development

Hey there,
I have made a simple app (the very first from me) which I guess would be highly useful for phone fanatics like me!!!
It searches for the full specs and info of any phone you want in seconds. ( parses from GSM Arena superfast!)
It also stores the last ten viewed phones for offline viewing ! Its free and Ad Free!!
Hope you guys like it!!! Let me know if I can make it better in any way !! Thanks in advance!!!
For downloading, search for 'Phone Finder' in marketplace!! I am new so not allowed to put URL's I guess!!
Now that I am allowed here is the direct link:
http://windowsphone.com/s?appid=10aada68-6330-40ac-a837-ec1cd6380f70

Nice app and good use of Metro UI. I loved it!
Suggestions: Is it possible to add a "pictures" pivot when displaying results of a phone? That would be impressive. A "comments" pivot would be nice too.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
Edit: I have recommended your app to WPCentral.

Thanks
Thanks Chaitanya!! Noted your comments !!! Ill be releasing an update soon!!

Avatar images

Now that I'm on this look-and-feel trip...
Not sure why I never did before: I've just turned on phpBB's 'Avatar' feature. This means everyone can now upload a small image to sit below their name beside every post. It doesn't have to be a photo, it can be anything you like. Maximum is 80x80 pixels and 10kB.
I haven't turned on the 'gallery' for people to pick from ready-made images. But if someone has a really nice collection of crazy images that would somehow apply to this community, I might.
I'll upload as soon as I think or something suitable...
Not sure, if it´s a good idea to be able to use Avatars.
They will bring up the amount of traffic of the website, and if you want to read this forum online with the xda, you have to turn off pictures or have to download much more...

The special mobile style I made (which is automatically selected for XDAs (or more precise: when a USER_AGENT string contains '240x320') does not display the avatars.

Google RSS Reader Application: Developers Wanted

Anyone interested in helping out?
*EDIT*
This application is complete, and has been branded G:RSS. The new thread can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700948
The release: http://nowsci.com/techviews/20100612/grss-a-google-reader-rss-app-for-windows-phone-7-wp7/
Unfortunatly I´m unable to help, but please continue with your work, it looks very very nice!
Sounds interesting. How far have you got, and whats still to do?
From the looks of the screenshot, it seems you've allready got most stuff working. Just need some design tweaks
I've got the structure laid out and am working through the Google API now. My biggest issue is I'm new to Silverlight/C#, and while it is 99% straightfoward, I'm having a problem figuring out how to get the HTTP Request working properly. I've got a thread started on the Windows Phone 7 forum here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo.../thread/8e918a12-135a-45b3-9764-0a24f631f4b3/
And yea, the UI is my first pass, it's what I'm working towards until I get it functioning fully in the emulator, then I'll revise.
Nice, but I think what is really needed is a view like you get on reader.google.com, where you can click through your news items in its full form.

I'll be building in swipe gestures, right for next article, left for previous. I think this is the best way to display an article and navigate. I was debating on placing the headline for the next article below, so you could tap on it, but longer articles would force scrolling. If anyone has any suggestions for how navigation could work otherwise, I haven't built that piece of the puzzle yet, so I'm open.

Nice screens. If you are stuck and need help I am a WP7Dev and have some time to do XAML and other stuff. PM me if you are still looking for help.
I also built a GReader WP7 app, screens are not as well designed as yours! Good job.
I'm actually finishing it up now. It's fully functional with almost all of the features of the desktop reader including on-phone caching. It's also looking much better than my concepts including theme options. I'll post a video when its complete, to see if there are any other things people want.
Great! Can´t wait for the video!
Why a Google RSS reader?
Syncing with Google Reader, so you see the same read / unread items on your mobile and on your Desktop. I like it.

Hope you get some help from here. Gunnar is a friend of mine.
So I actually just completed it on my own. Was a great way to get into WP7 development. I've since named the application, and have a video of it posted. The new thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700948

WOW! Thanks for this awesome app!
Im using Bazaar for PC as my Optimus 7 doesnt support full unlock and it works really good.
We just need more apps to be in there, we should make this a sticky!
Some imporvements:
Maybe you could add a report update button?
And I dont really like the screenshot view, not really Metro like.

Is there any danger of using this app?
I mean about 40 times faster... Looks like it gets 40 times faster broken, you know?
Works really good, like the previous (1.5) version of the app. I like the new design, the design of the buttons is a thing of taste, personally I think they are okay
Superuser says that android.permission.ACCESS_SUPERUSER wasn't declared in manifest.
Maybe you could do this so, people can see then that this permission is required when they install it

Hey dude, I realise that you have given me pride of place in the app for the design work credit, but I would really appreciate a credit in the app description on the play store, simply for CV purposes.
I'm glad I was able to help you with the design and if you ever need anything for this app or for another, gimme a shout.
Dok
EDIT: Just spotted that you have added an "A" in my surname. Sort it out brother.

Should I share my NEW APP?

Hey people!
Couple of months ago I started developing Android Apps coz i was getting bored at home. You know, just learning stuff...
So I started developing a very basic app. It was my first app after all, so it was supposed to be basic! I started working on it because I NEEDED IT. Then I shared it with a few friends of mine in college and they loved it. Well, it made life a bit simpler for them.
This app isn't for everyone. It is aimed at AIRTEL BROADBAND USERS who have WIFI.
Airtel Broadband users know and understand the importance of SMARTBYTES. It is a service that keeps a track of the DATA USED and the DATA LEFT in our broadband account. Atleast i care for this alot. I have a 4 Mbps connection with a 75 GB data limit. So i have to keep a track of data left in my account. And i had to visit Airtel's website every time to keep a check.
So I made an app for this and it retrieves this data on my phone in just one tap. I made this using GALAXY GRAND i9082 so I have set the elements in the app to look apt on our phone's resolution and screen. It looks great on NOTE 2 too. Can't be sure of how it would look on smaller screens. I tested it on emulator, looked fine. But not tested on smaller screens.
I don't know if any of you even have AIRTEL BROADBAND + WIFI. So that's why i am asking, if you want I can share. It might be useful for one or two. I'll make a thread then in the APPS section. Should I?
If no one has AIRTEL BROADBAND + WIFI, well, no problem. I just wanted to help.
Always share it, never let your talent be hidden. Just be sure you add such words in your tittle, body and tags which can be searched more often. Always keep search engine optimisation SEO in mind. This will help the seakers for such app. I am sure 1000s of people will want it. So go ahead my talented bro.. If possible, post it on play store. Just hit it man.. you have best platform.

Thank you for the encouragement!
I developed this just as a hobby and out of need. And uploading on play store takes $25, which is too high when i am not even sure if i'll work more on something or anything. I am not looking to monetize my app anyways. So i wont put any ads on it. I just want to help.
But yes, you are right, someone will surely benefit from it. I'll make a thread for the app soon and upload it here on xda, keeping in mind the SEO and hence keywords, tags etc. :good:
Posted the app on xda:
