[Q]Verizon rainbow wallpaper vs GSM rainbow wallpaper? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Notice a difference between the two? Can anyone post up the Verizon version? If you look at the two together, the GSM version doesn't pop as much.

Do you actually have the wallpaper or are you just looking at a picture of the screen?

the (stock) pictures of the Z model are photos-hoped/rendered.
wait until you see a hands-on with the device with that wallpaper. and than see if there is indeed a difference.
though i doubt there is.

Yeah, I have the Nexus in hand.

Oooo look, a double rainbow. Woooooooow!

I noticed the same thing. I think maybe the ones in the ads were enhanced. Either way I have seen the wallpaper before. Looks like they a couple of these and modified them: www hongkiat com/blog/30-impressive-colour-spectrum-and-rainbow-wallpapers/

Unhappy with screen quality?

Does the lack of resolution bother anyone else? Dont get me wrong, the GS phones have amazing screens and beautiful colors, and was happy to move to the E4GT from the Evo, but the jaggies are killing me!
I've viewed two other phones, and all three have been about the same. It is definitely something that most people wouldn't complain about but i know there's got to be others that share my disdain.
Edge of icons, subtle shading, and the very noticeable grid pattern on a mid-gray screen are what catch my eye.
This wasn't meant to be a rant, just wanted to see if anyone else notices what seems to have been corners cut by stretching this screen over the international version.
Comments, hate mail, patches/fixes are all welcome. lol
Nope.

At first I didn't like it (coming from the photon and evo3d) but now Im used to it. I really don't have a problem with it anymore. I do like the size.
love the colors on the AMOLED, prefer the QHD resolution though

You can get an app to change your LCD density if you want.

Changing the density doesn't fix it, may make it less apparent, but its still there.
Is there a technical reason the pixel grid is so noticeable?

Way too anal man. I think its fine.

I don't see any pixelation some people are complaining about. Most people zoom in to make images bigger on these phones anyways but I don't have to do that with this phone because of it's screen size.

Very dissapointed with screen! Edit. My display is defective

EDIT. MODS PLEASE DELETE MY THREAD

Are you a troll? The screen is HD Super AMOLED+, the best there is right now.

No, the screen is Super AMOLED HD. There is no + because its Pentile.
Also, its less "smooth" shall we say, than my Droid Charge which was Plus, I'll agree there.
But the overall density makes it good enough, and better than my Fascinate. SIGNIFICANTLY better than any qHD screen I've used on a Motorola.
Just my two cents. Maybe you got a bad phone? Or maybe you really are just a troll...

HD Super Amoled actually.
But it does seem this person is a troll.
And I haven't noticed any screen issues on my Verizon GN.
Our screen is 1280 x 720, Razr's is 960 x 540.
The screen doesn't come close to my SII but it's not that bad. It's worth it to be away from Sprint.
Sorry guys I had my facts wrong. I t turns out that my screen is defective. Sucks, gotta return it already

What was wrong with your screen? If you don't mind me asking. So far no problems for me, but I want to know what to look for.
I had a persistent green blob on the upper right of the screen of my first Galaxy Nexus. It was quite visible on white and other light backgrounds but difficult to see otherwise.
Sorry for calling you a troll. Your post just seemed very strange since my screen is beautiful. And I just exchanged my Razr today.

Galaxy nexus AMOLED screen cracked :(

Sprint, Verizon, and international. Are they all the same?
Could I replace my GSM gnex LCD with a Verizon one?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
first off, its an AMOLED panel, not LCD. Different technologies
But anyways, most people are pointing out that these phones are not completely identical inside, and they're not easily interchangeable if you were to buy a GSM screen and try to put it on a Verizon device, for example. Lots of people have tried it, and from what I see it's not just plug-and-play.

The actual panel is the same. How it connects to the phone and the connector/pin placement is different.

No I don't. There are some threads where people have tried this though.
Pic of the crack? I think I may have bent (if that's possible) part of the screen. Its a black squiggly line on the front. And when reflected in light, it looks bent.

Nexus backplates?

Thanks to the Docomo droid backplate thread, I'm on the hunt to replace mine :X
Anyone know where to find these?
That thread already lists your best shot, the Japanese ebay-like shops. They were never sold retail.
We laser etch a design inspired by the Docomo battery door.
Check this thread a forum member started about that specific design.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679181
We can also customize it more if that's something you'd prefer.
