Cases finally showing up on eBay

I've been searching every couple days since the phone was released only to find the shields, glare protectors, and skins... Finally they have the low cost cases that many users have come to love...
Judging by the looks on some, I'm not saying they are grade A, but having bought some for past phones, they are comparable to some of the $30 cases sold at some retailers

This is the same case (and seller) I have except mine is black. It looks, works, and feels great... Though it is a little hard to take off once it's on.

whats that case material called thats like not the rubbery silicone, but not a hard case? Its like a soft plastic that doesn't have a rubber texture.

if the material you're describing is what I'm imagining (and as counter-intuitive as it sounds) it's rubberized crystal cases. (like the one in the first link)
it doesn't feel "rubbery", it feels smooth and soft-textured. nothing at all like the rubber you'd find on a shoe or tire.

I believe you are thinking of TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethanes)? It's generally a material that is flexible but very smooth, and usually translucent.
Unfortunately I don't think there are any TPU cases yet for Captivate, but I think they are coming (they have them for the standard Galaxy S / Vibrant), but that's what I am waiting for as well.

Per Wikipedia, they have several trade names (but seems mostly from Pharma)
ELASTOLLAN (BASF & Elastogran)
PEARLTHANE (Merquinsa)
DESMOPAN (Bayer)
PELLETHANE (Dow Chemical) Sold to Lubrizol.
ESTANE (Lubrizol)
IROGRAN (Huntsman)
But in terms of cases, the only trade name I know of is that I believe Amzer calls their line of TPU cases "Luxe." Other places usually refer to the cases either as TPU or "Flexi Skin."
I'm personally waiting on the "Luxe" line from Amzer to be released at the end of the month for the Captivate.

I got the black version of this case and I'd say it's by far more attractive and more protective than the overpriced crap they have at the AT&T store.
I attached some pictures. Yeah, I rigged up a cradle for the phone out of some large zip-ties, and I must say, it works great. Don't be dissin'!

Yep, that's exactly the same one I have. The one thing I would say to notice about this is, that without a screen protector, and if you keep it in your pocket... this case just seems to be a "force dirt to collect in certain places" device. (Keep it in your pocket for a day or two and then take it off and see how much dirt is chilling out under your case)

Thats the one I want as well. Mainly cuz its got some cushion like the silicone ones but doesn't stick in your pocket like the silicone ones...
Only problem I have with it is the pattern on it. Its a nice pattern, but coming from the world of bberry, its been done and over done. I feel it might look a little busy with the translucency/being able to see all the original case detail under it.

Is there another place I can get the hard snap on cases other than ebay? Keep trying to catch them with some in stock at the store and they never have them...and I'm sure they are like $30 there...

Yes, except there a little different. the designs are very similar though.
Armor Case is made by chinese manufacturers but they are available in alot more colors than what Otterbox offers.
the holster and design of the case are nearly identical to the Defender case

I personally love my black aegis case

I got a Body Glove off Amazon for $12. Very happy with it. Good compromise between bulk and protection. That, and a pack of 5 screen protectors for $6-7.

I used to have a trident case on my EVO smaller than otterbox and still very protective and also had pet screen, it was perfect, I read on another thread, their website just started making them for the thunderbolt. That's what I'm gonna order for my next case.

When I use a case, I just use the quick snap on Seidio case. Seems to do the trick.

Yea, I'll post a pic review of the case. For only 13.57 + shipping for a essentially a Otterbox without the logo on the back is pretty good if you ask me.... Ill be getting it in in about 5 days.

I'm with you, this phone is too expensive to damage. I've been searching everyday and have yet to find anything. I usually prefer Ballistics' cases but I doubt they will be making one for this phone so it's back to the drawing board. I'm also wondering if zagg will be making a screen protector for this device. Don't know what I can expect with such a massive device. Maybe turn to the manufacturers of the best tablet cases... I'll post here when I find some cases.

I facebooked Both Ballistic and Otterbox and they both say they don't have any plans for a case.
I'd hate to use my Note without a really good case. Maby i'll make one out of wood...

I'm liking the little brown case that just has a front flat that opens up like a book but it's not protective at all lol

Me too but I can't find a link to buy it yet. Expansys has blue and white...... Yuck..

I think the case of expansys is sleek. It's not making the note any thicker.
Hope they got variety of colors though..

samsung flipover
Samsung will come with a flipover, the back of the flipover will replace the original back of the note. So the note will only become a few mm thicker

I'm also looking to get the Samsung flipover cover when it becomes available. The only problem is the side of the Note remains unprotected, I'm thinking getting a gel case and trim off the left hand side so it will fit togther with the flipover cover.

Meanwhile, here is a really nice durable skin that is already available on Amazon I have used the Skinomi on my previous phones and it covers the phone nicely. All the cutouts are aligned and it barely feels like there is anything on it. Btw, the carbon fiber look makes it look really mean and clean. oh another thing, it's lifetime warranty too.

How does the screen protector feel? I know the Skinomi's tablet protector feels rubbery.

The carbon fibre film must just be 3m di-noc carbon fibre, can be had much cheaper on Ebay and you can just custom cut it to any device.
I wont be sludging up my screen with a screen protector

I used the Carbon Fiber skin on my Streak and loved it .. I will order one for my Note.

yup....looking for the same but no luck.
The flip cover is not practical IMHO esp when making calls.

Everyone who doesn't need the case right away, wait til piel frama comes out with a imagnum type of case. This case is expensive but it protects your device against any earthquake you throw at it. I have one for my hd2 and getting one for the note cause my hd2 is still like new. You can put in your e-mail and they'll let you know when it's there to buy. Here's the link

If they release a case like this for the Note I think it might be worth a try. The kickstand could be useful.

I already had a comparison poll about cases for galaxy s3. Otterbox defender, Casemate glam and SGP Folio, and i've decided to get SGP folio and try to place an order now. But, I just found another case from sgp website. I bet this case was released for other devices. Has anyone tried this case for your old device? If it's better than folio (http://www.spigen.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-leather-case-folio-series.html), I would get this one because it's made of suede material.

I had Argos for my iPhone 4 and SGS2, I generally liked them quite a bit, but at times, the flap clamp tend to get a little loose, so you have to sort of bend it down a little to get more friction between it and the phone.

does anyone have more pictures of the SGP Argos?
I really like the looks of it in the official picture, but i found this review for the galaxy s2 version where you can see a massive bulk at the bottom. does the s3 version have this too?

I was in between folio and argos, but I more like suede material, though. I'm still thinking..... How do you like Folio?

Has anyone used Argos on the S3? It's easily to be scratched, so be more gentle when using it.

Tudia Ultra Slim Melody Case

Has anyone got one? They look nice and get good reviews on Amazon but would be good if someone who has one could post some pics of the real thing. I have the Spigen ultra hybrid which looks great but adds a lot of bulk to the phone and doesn't feel so great. I also have a cheapo tpu case which actually feels great but the finish is a bit poor and its a little saggy.

I don't have one, nor any experience with the maker, but they do look on the thicker side for TPU cases.

Got one of these today and really love it! Fantastic case.

"TPU" and "Ultra Slim" should never be uttered in the same sentence unless that sentence is "Nothing about TPU is ultra slim by any stretch of the imagination."

Great case! Fits the phone perfectly without room for it to slide up and down inside the case. Buttons are not too hard to press but a little more difficult. All ports are accessible. The speaker grill cut out isn't perfectly put, but is just fine.

Still waiting for mine to be delivered, looks like it's coming from the UK from the US via snail mail.

Got it the other day - nice case fist really well with no saggyness, I have ditched my spigen ultra hybrid for this as that whilst looking cool was too bulky.

This is a mediocre case at best. It's slim, but has the sticky feel of glossy TPU, which I hate. The design on the back may or may not appeal to you -- I found it repulsive. Overall, with this case, you get what you pay for. I personally think it ruins the aesthetics of the Nexus 5.

If the back is so repulsive why on earth did you buy it in the first place? It was quite evident in the pictures and listings that it was glossy tpu and the back was the way it is. Surely one of the main reasons people buy this case is because they like the design on the back. The case is cheap but alot better quality than other tpu cases ( of which I have bought 2) of a similar price and ruins the aesthetics no more than any other case, compared to other cases I have bought including the spigen it follows the contours of the phone well.

Do you honestly think I would have bought it if I had known that I didn't like the back design? It looked great in the photo, but not when I had it in my hands.
