Subscribed I was looking for one that disables wallpaper scrolling to test live wallpaper performance.
Edit: Awesome stuff, apart from Microbes, no stuttering when swiping between homescreens with the new scrolling behaviour.
Using a 5x5 layout, marvelous use of that large screen.
Nice icon btw

Trying now.. :-D
From my fingers to your eyez

please add a scrollable "3-dock" mode like Go Launcher (and gestures if that's not too much work)
thanks!

Just used the update.zip and all is great

I have to agree! I'm running CM9 on my D3, and really, the only thing that could make the experience better is having a scrolling dock! Downloading now, and thank you for the hard work!

yeah, gestures are very important for me too.
swipe down pulls the statusbar down and swipe up locks the screen...

Installed and running fine, excellent replacement launcher!
Please add more scrolling effects like cascading, cross fading...
A novice question, is this launcher gpu accelerated? Or it's relying on the force gpu option?

Wow excellent launcher! Nice work and thanks!
Just wondering if you could add the option to have the persistent google search thingy... I kind of got used to it.
Also the ability to stick your folders into the app drawer would be nice as well.

Would it be possible to fit the market shortcut back into the app draw? maybe near the settings icon? I kinda liked that, and used it all the time.

Nice! I like where this is heading. I would love too see the ability to choose how many home screens to have, and the ability to create folders in the app drawer (10p sale has filled it right up!)

There's a problem with the icons, whatever I changed it wont register and it restored back to default every reboot. I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I've tested it few times already.

Some bugs
First of all thanks for this great mod, I think it has great potential.
After setting up my Homescreens I found some bugs.
1. If I disable wallpaper scrolling after some time the wallpaper isn´t anymore centered.
2. After a reboot, there are some widgets disappeared from the Homescreens. After readding the widgets, this happens again after a reboot.
3. One time happend (after switching from market back to homescreen) that the searchbar widget comes back on top of my homescreens and it overlaps it with my widgets.
If I find another bugs, I will report them again.
Thanks again and keep working on it!
Edit: The issue under 2 appears when u add the widgets the 'old way' by long-pressing on home screen. If u add them through the app drawer they are still there after a reboot.

I had this problem with ADW too, I'm using repacked ITL41F with stock kernel. So it doesn't appear to be unique to Nova Launcher

Great launcher but I've got a couple of suggestions:
Although everyone seemed to hate the search bar at the top I'd kinda got used to it and now miss it so an option to keep it there would be great.
How about having a homescreen Scroll effect the same as the one in the app drawer?
Other than that keep up the good work!

nice liking this

Agreed, miss my search bar

Excellent, I've been looking for something that would essentially just remove the search bar
However 2 things would be great
1) An option to set the number of home screens
2) For some reason I can't use Desktop Visualiser to replace the stock icons at the bottom. On the ICS launcher I can choose "Desktop VisulizR" to add a custom shortcut, small enough to replace Phone, Contacts etc. But for some reason this widget doesn't show in Nova launcher.
Great work, looking forward to full release.

Install the tw4.zip in recovery (also contains ShareApp.apk; this will remove the old twlauncher, so make sure you have another launcher as backup installed!) (if zip does not install the app, /system is not mounted rw, then push the app manually to /system/app/ [remove TouchWiz30Launcher.* if present!] or
install the launcher as normal app. This will have some restrictions: for example it cannot uninstall apps (not really tested; only possible if you don't already have a twlauncher installed!)

Is there any possibility to have a 4x5 drawer?

Definitely making me lean towards going back to TouchWiz. How's the compatibility when you change DPI?
dock apps
good job.
I tryed to put it on my galaxy s II, but I don't undestand how to add icon apps in the dock space. If I try to move icon over the dock there is a trash icon. At the moment in the dock there is only the application icon.
Go to app drawer then press edit

Nice but ...
Hmm, it has potential, but far too many annoyances to make it usable. The biggest being that there is no way that I can see to be able to rearrange the icons in the dock, who the hell wants the app drawer launcher on the right? And, like Touchwiz, the dock and home-screen scroller dots take up way too much screen estate.
Meh, excited to start with, ultimately let down. Back to Launcher Pro Plus, which is what always happens when I try an alternative launcher. I should learn not to fiddle really

I think i saw an autohide option in the settings, will look later, look in preferances
I only have the app launcher in the dock, how can i add phone, contacts...?
It's kind of good. But it really seems like it's lacking. There needs to be more dock backgrounds, more options, more themes. Still, it is better than stock. It's just that it doesn't do much.
Hmm I've had a couple of force closes when using SMS. It says it is due to twlauncher. This is the first launcher related force close I've encounted.
i think the biggest letdown, imo, is that you have to reload widgets to get them all working again. means something is wrong in the coding where modified unfortunately.
Doesn't seem fully baked. I switched to 5 rows and went to populate the home screens and the first app I dropped in appeared to fall in between the screens. It did not show on any screen but I could see it as I used the slider to go between screens. Nothing I could do would let me get hold of it and delete it. Love the concept and its something I have been asking about so I hope some of the smart people run with this and get the issues worked out. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
Um if I didn't do a back up before flashing this zip, how can I get back to stock TWlauncher?
Is there anywhere I can get it? Because this launcher is buggy. My messaging is totally borked.

Secondary screen - Folders: Application Folder
Tertiary screen - Calendar: Simple Calendar Widget
Note: Fixed images!
I don't use the black background cuz I like it, it's because WP clock does not properly work on the Nitro. When using WP Clock with a background image, the image will not fill the whole screen, but leaves this little space at the bottom about half the height of the dock, so it looks somewhat funny. WP clock said they are working on a new version of WP clock, which is optimized for HD screens.

Ok, I've got nothing to "flaunt", but I am finally happy with my lockscreen =) For whatever reason, I felt compelled to tinker with the lock screen a bit, so I'm sharing what I did-
I use the lock pattern, but I hate the dots, hate the carrier, hate the line separating the time and the dots, and hate the emergency call button. Ugly... So I changed them all =)
Changed PNGs to transparent dots
Removed carrier in lock screen (as well as notification bar from before) - XML edit
Made the separator line super faint (turns out I like a tiny bit of line =) ) - PNG swap
Removed emergency call button so it only appears after failed pattern unlock - XML edit
I know where the dots are, so I just have them appear only when pressed (but even then, I made them more transparent)
Now I'm happy =)
looks pretty schnazzy in here!

At least I think its pretty.

No screen shots to provide but I have tried a few combinations of having different widgets but found it slows down the phone enough for me to notice lag. For example, once I add a full calendar widget to one of the home screen the switch between screens becomes laggy. Does that happen with you guys too?

What launcher are you using? It really depends on the launcher. And have you done a hard reset on your phone after rooting? Doing a hard reset significantly improve the smoothness of the phone.

I'm using Go Launcher. Tried out LauncherPro but it wasn't as smooth. I have done a hard reset as well after rooting. I noticed the biggest difference after freezing some apps. Still, if I add a large calendar widget there is a noticeable lag. Maybe I'm expecting too much.

Mos Def. I just wish their app drawer can be much smoother. One thing I like about Launcher Pro was how smooth the transitioning is and scrolling.

[THEME][MDPI] Evangelion SH06D-NERV - Tutorial [HD-version out now]

Information:
Read the information within the spoiler tag and follow the tutorial before posting any questions!
I'm proud to present the Evangelion SH06D-NERV Theme. Made especially to run smooth on our ace.
This will of course work on other devices but some widgets are scaled to match our screen specifically.
See their promo commercial here: http://youtu.be/Ouf4LfIxuo8
If you saw my previous thread about discontinuing this project, that was just an excuse to get some peace
and to work on my own pace! (http://goo.gl/lYiYu)
There are a lot of steps so I'm gonna try to keep this tutorial short and simple.
One of the solution was by making a video tutorial on how to setup the widgets,
you will still have to keep on reading since the video tutorial doesn't cover all the areas.
Keep in mind that one of the apps (ADW Launcher Ex) used here is a paid app.
(Which is why I didnt made this into a rom instead)
*note* this works just as well on holo launcher (if you have overlap enabled, don't remember if it's only available on the pro verions).
Lockscreen and Widgets:
The lockscreen is animated and interactive, the same goes for most of the widgets as well.
You're able to customize what app the widget should load up by adding a "hotspot" in UCCW.
Right now the widgets are set to:
Clock: Tapping the digits will start "Alarm Clock Xtreme Free"
Calendar: the same goes for the upper part of the calendar (UNIT ALERT!). If you activated a alarm time it will be shown under "UNIT ALERT!". Tapping the date area will bring you to the native calendar app.
SD CARD: Brings you to Samsungs "Task Manager"
Battery: none set
User phone no: none set
Weather: tapping the lower part of the widget brings you to the native CM7 "News and Weather" app.
CPU: The CPU widget actually shows the current battery, temperature and week of the year. Tapping it will open up the SetCPU app.
Volume bars: Send you to the app where you're able to change the volume. Try putting the volume down using the volume rockers and see the bars move.
Tutorial:
1. Download all the zip files down below and install the APKs from
the "APK_Modified_NBT". The Wifi Toggle widget is optional.
2. Import all the widgets themes from "UCCW_THEMES" folder to UCCW,
press the setting buttons for more options.
Open up Minimalistic Text and import the respective theme, "SD.STORAGE".
2.5. I added the Google Search Bar as a UCCW theme, download it from the second post and import it as well.
(skip this step)
3. And the reason why we're going to apply the CM7 Theme "MIUI4_NBT" afterwards
is because of the bug that it brings us. You're unable to read the folder names in UCCW after applying
the MIUI4 Theme. Apply the CM7 theme by opening the theme app and chose "Apply" -> "Apply anyway".
(CM9 Users: Link)
4.ADW Launcher Ex settings:
Use 4x4 grid on your launcher. UI settings -> Screen preference -> Desktop Columns/Rows (set to 4 on both).
On the same page, disable "Show desktop indicator", enable "overlap widgets"
Change your dock, Themes Preference -> Main dock (choose).
Reflections, UI settings-> Main dock -> Enable Dock (it should be on), on the same page, Reflections (on)
Transistion, General Behavior -> Animation effect -> Screen transition effect -> Zoom.
On the same page Desktop scrolling speed 200<450, desktop bounce 0
Wallpaper scrollning should be on (disable if you experience lagg when swiping through pages).
5. Follow the video instructions that put I together:
http://youtu.be/EvuBHD49qw4
6. Open up MiLocker and apply the theme "NERV_ONLY_NBT"
I put another alternative if you have Widgetlocker, it's more lightweight and smoother.
7. Show your appreciation by giving feed back!

I'm doing all of this as we speak on my OV One question though, what font are you using in the screenshots?
EDIT: AudioManager was causing MAJOR lag on my phone, is that normal? If so, is there another way to use a similar volume app/skin for the volume widget?

The widget is pretty light itself, so i wonder why the lagg? Does it at least look good when scaled on your screen? I could make a widget using tokaplot instead, but you're gonna get this kind of graphic, i will remove the text and make it look cleaner than the screenshots found on the play store.
The font your probably refering to is "bebas_neue". You will easily find it with a google search.
There is like 3 other font used as well x)

(Attached v1.2.2, v1.2.3)
This gets rid of the lockscreen widgets and camera on the homescreen on Android 4.2 or higher.
If you have root, you can disable the bold-hour clock widget from the action bar menu, under 'Clock Hack'. (since 1.2)
The app is completely free. I don't foresee adding anything much to this app (I could add a couple of toggle widgets).
This is a lightweight app at 80KB.
There's a known issue under 4.2.2:
With the clock hack disabled, the clock widget toggles between the bold hour clock and the non-bold hour clock every other unlock. If your device is rooted, you can use the clock hack to get the device to consistently display the non-bold hour clock. Otherwise, there isn't anything I can do for you immediately. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I had no control over this.
Disable widgets and/or camera access on the lockscreen under Android 4.2.
Usage:
1) Run application
2) Make selections, and press activate
3) In the 'Activate device administrator' screen, choose 'Activate'
4) Verify settings, and press 'Apply'
5) To change settings, either press the 'Reset' button or hit the back key from the app to return to the setup screen
Uninstall:
To uninstall, uncheck the application from the 'Device Administrator' list under 'Security' in 'Settings'.
Privacy:
I do not collect any personal information with this completely free application.
No permissions other than device administrator required.

Thanks! The flashing widget placeholder on the lockscreen was annoying as hell.
This app succeeds where stock Android has failed. :good:
Thank goodness...
The lockscreen was seriously driving me nuts. I hated seeing that widget box every time I turned it on. Thank you for providing a way to turn it off. I just wish Google had made it optional in the first place.
Now, if you could just help me change that ugly, ugly clock font. :good:
It might be possible to change the default clock as more devs support lockscreen widgets, because I think it's just a widget there...
Looks good I am going to have to try this out.

Installing. The lockscreen changes haven't impressed me much.
works on Nexus 7
THANK YOU!
installing NOW.
I'll test it for you on Nexus S, send me the apk via PM or open it on Google Play.
Thanks for the report for the Nexus 7. I checked out some videos and realized that tablets don't have a camera swipe gesture on the lockscreen. Checking the 'camera' option doesn't really hurt anything though, at least as of the currently available Android API.
Functionally the app is not going to change much. The icon is hideous, but I know it's annoying to have to update for something minor like that, so that's not coming until there's a good idea for something that needs to be in the app.

It doesn't do anything for devices not running Android 4.2. If your device runs Android 4.2 already, you will see it in the Play Store.

Alright, when I flash back 4.2 I'll see if I can download from Play, thanks.

Hey, could you please share the APK?
I can't download it on Play Store because my Galaxy Nexus on 4.2 seems to be incompatible...
Allow Clock Replacement Widget?
Thanks for getting this app up so quickly!
I know you're probably not going to add much to it, but I have one request. Is it possible to make it work with clock replacement widgets like the "Fixed 4.2 Clock Widget" (can't link to it in the Play Store because I haven't posted 10 times yet).
That widget fixes the weird bolded-hour clock thing Google decided to do for 4.2, but I can't use it if I disable widgets with your app. If there was a way to disable the addition of new widgets (swiping to the left) but still allow a replacement widget on the primary lock screen, that would be perfect.
Would it be possible to disable Google Now? I'd really appreciate that ability. How did Google screw the lock screen so bad?!
Not sure how the clock widget can be changed.
Also noticed that if a music player has lockscreen widgets, they show up on a new page...
You can disable system apps in Android 4.2. If you disable Google Search in Applications, you lose the swipe up gesture from the soft buttons, but the lockscreen will still show a weird looking dot where Google Now is activated.

Was just thinking the exact same thing. You're right, if this could be done it would be absolutely perfect. :good:
Why oh why do we have to look at that awful clock font? If only there was a way to remove it completely. And why did they decide to have that place holder flash up on the left every single time I unlock? I know I can add a widget, there's no need to remind me every single time I unlock!
I don't think I see a good way of changing the default widget unless you replace the system clock app.

Live or regular wallpaper?
Multi-live wallpaper - No idea.
Multi-regular wallpaper - Mult-Picture Live Wallpaper
MPLW didn't seem to have much of a drain on my battery when I was using TouchWiz. Of course, that's based on what I remember perceiving. It certainly doesn't show up on my list of top 10 apps that consume my battery power the most.

It'll seem confusing at first, so here's a video that explains it: http://youtu.be/c39PXAr9_F8?t=7m4s
Keep in mind, he's talking as if you have Go Launcher EX as your launcher. How you go about selecting multi-picture live wallpaper as your live wallpaper at the beginning may be different. The rest of the instruction is correct.

It was easy to configure, but it's not working under tw and cleanrom 3.5 ace. I'll check the video later and see if I missed something.

You can use multi wall paper app with nova launcher. Put the wallpapers you want in a separate folder and use that folder.

Are you able to get multiple wallpapers running under tw? :/ which rom are you using if so, and what odd settings did you have to use?

Didn't try it with TW, but I'm pretty sure it will work. It only relies on which image or folder of images is assigned to which respective homescreen. I mostly ran Go Launcher EX when I was stock and not even rooted. It does work with Nova, ADW and Trebuct(sp?) as well. I've ran it on CM10.1, AOKP, JellyBeer, JellyBam, ParanoidAndroid, LiquidSmooth and Vanilla RootBox. All worked fine. I'm running Vanilla RootBox with Go Launcher HD for tablets right now and MPLW is working perfectly.
The only thing I can suggest is if you do end up having problems making it switch properly between homescreens, try scrolling down to its settings and play around with the choices under "Workaround for some home application." I learned that "For Honeycomb Tablet" seems to work the best for my set up, which is landscape mode.
Here are some examples of my homescreens with various ROMs, stock to custom, with each running MPLW:

}
MPLW also allows your lockscreen wallpaper to change separately from your homescreen:

Hi,
Yes, it IS possible to get different wallpapers on different home screens. ( Assuming that each home screen has it own STATIC wallpaper.)
I've got SG Note 2 with Nova Launcher Prime.
The number of home screens is not critical (I personally have 7 of them.)
As was mentioned you would need MultiPicture Live Wallpaper (MPLW). So install it.
Here is the sort of the tut for this task.
1. Prepare the wallpapers you want to allocate and put the exact number of them (e.g. 7 wallpapers if you have 7 screens) in separate folder. (FYI, I haven’t experimented with the external SD card, since I already had those 7 pictures in the internal storage.)
2. Go to Nova Launcher’s settings and enable (use ON radio button) Wallpapers scrolling under the Desktop menu. Quit Nova settings.
3. Choose Wallpaper menu item under the Menu Key and then, choose the Live Wallpapers.
4. Chose MPLW and then, tap its settings button.
5. Then, Common settings > Picture Source > Picture folder. Set the path to the folder with your wallpaper images.
6. Under the Picture Folder menu set the Selection settings to specify on which wallpaper will be on what screen, etc.
7. Use SGN2 Back and set the rest of the Common settings options (BG color, Crop, transitions etc.) under the Screen Settings menu. Make sure that you select the NEVER radio button under the Picture change interval menu.
8. Use SGN2 Back key again and tap Set Wallpaper button. Voilà!
2 notes: a) It seems like NO workaround options that MPLW offers is needed... I just set it to NONE and it worked just fine for me; b) since I had earlier changed as I wanted the Lock screen using the settings SGN2 provides, I didn’t actually try hard to make the “Use lock screen settings” option work. At least simple selecting that checkbox and pointing to the specific image did NOT work – the lock screen wallpaper remained the old one.
I hope that this tut will work for you too and maybe not only for Note 2. Honestly, when you have the specific wallpaper for each screen, this is not just looking cool , but is helpful too (better icons/folders visibility).
Cheers,
Max
