Motorola Keyboard and Mouse $40 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Accessories

Saw this on Android Police, and thought I would pass it along.
You buy a Motorola Blue Tooth keyboard and get a blue tooth mouse for free! It's "designed" for the Xoom but should still work great on our Tabs!
Reviews are really great on it over at Amazon too:
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Wire...dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
The keyboard:
http://www.store.motorola.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Keyboard-FREE-Mouse/dp/B004JK7GE0
You need to add both the mouse and keyboard to your cart and then it'll reduce the price, enter in CLIQXT11 to get $7.00 off. I was looking for a keyboard/mouse combo for a while and scooped this up for $39.85.
I'll let everyone know how it is when I get it.

Duh.. US only delivery!

Thanks so much! Just ordered. Coupon works great.

How does the keyboard and mouse work with the 10.1?

Pair no problem, use both mouse and KB no problem. Default key for android no problem. Media key no problem. 15 minutes usage experiences. I would say it is a good deal!

Sounds good. I just ordered the combo, but the $7 coupon expired. Still seems to be a great deal though.

yes.mine without 7 too. hopefully later we can put more tips on using it. now i feel alright when need extensive typing jod done. shipping is quite fast .. in 3 days i got mine. it took me few minutes to figure out how to put the battery in the mouse.hehe.

Does this work with cm9? Anyone got it running on their tab wit the keyboard? Thanks
sent from my iPhone 4S.
haha I bet that confused ya

Received the Motorola keyboard and mouse combo today. I paired both of them with no problem and they work great.
I'm running TASK's v13.1 ROM and have no problems.
I also received the Clip 360 case today and it works very well with the keyboard. The keyboard has a rounded stand on the top/back of it and it fits nicely into the front most grove of the Clip case placing the 10.1 at a good viewing angle.
I ordered both on Tuesday, Jan 11 and received both on Tuesday, Jan 17. Very good delivery time even with a holiday of Monday.
I would recommend this combo if you want a easy to used mouse and keyboard.

I have just ordered mine too, by using a promotional code
MOTFORUM
use this code and get $7 off
Good luck guys

I ordered the combo at the beginning of this week, it should be here today or tomorrow.
I'm pretty stoked, it looks like a nice, solid addition to any SGT owner.

Well I got mine, and they work pretty well. Although a lot of the hotkeys for the Xoom either don't work, or do something else. The contacts button works, and the app drawer button acts as the Menu button. I'm on Galaxy Task 13, so I have no clue whether or not this is ROM related.
But I do have to comment at the quality of the products. They're both nice and sturdy for the insane low price, and typing on this keyboard feels far more comfortable than my Asus EEE PC netbook. Also, while typing this, I've discovered that Shift+Space causes a little notification "English(US)" to pop up, and does NOT enter a blank space if you're holding Shift.
Like I said, only minor inconveniences. I'm enjoying what I bought, though.
Also, I'm going to make a Q/A thread, but does anybody know how to hide the touch keyboard while using bluetooth input? It's huge and annoying.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the music controls work seamlessly with Google Music. Although the Music hotkey doesn't open the app, the song controls all work.

I know the pop-up keyboard gets annoying sometimes, but I just hit the back arrow on the upper left of the keyboard and it hides the keyboard.
EDIT: The keys that don't work are:
Music
Text
Email
All the other keys work.
I'm running Task 13.1 Lite and he's removed some of the Samsung apps that came with the 10.1 so I can't say if it's ROM related either. I believe Task did remove the stock SMS, email & music apps so that may have something to do with it.

Looking for a keyboard for my Tab. Not sure which is best...

I've been looking at the Samsung Keyboard dock, Logitech Bluetooth keyboard at BestBuy, and the Motorola Xoom keyboard.
I'm still not sure which is a better buy, and which one will work best for me.
I was using the Android on screen keyboard, but it no longer vibrates after installing the TouchWiz update.

did you check that haptic feedback is enabled? You have to check the configuration of whatever keyboard you're using (it's under settings--language and input--configure input methods--[select the keyboard you're using, i suspect it's the default samsung keyboard].

It's selected. I've tried numerous times of turning it on and off. Seems to be some type of bug within TouchWiz that keeps it from working. It works in a few other keyboards I have installed, but the Android keyboard will no longer vibrate.

Loitech keyboard! I love it battery life seems great, had it for 3 weeks. Its less than the Samsung one and uses bt so it will work with other devices. Comes with a nice protective case / stand.
The Samsung Bluetooth Keyboard Case is now available on their site for the 10.1. You can ask to be notified when available. They said it will be available in the next couple of weeks. If you google, you will see some CNET reviews that give you better pictures. It is supposedly as thin as the notebook case. I just hope it does not have the same flaws as the notebook case. I am returning mine tomorrow. The case seems to allow for easy depression of the power button. I am constantly turning the tablet on/off. I will pick it up, lift the flap, and find the device is booting back up. Not very helpful at all!
The samsung bluetooth keyboard/case looks the best so far. Of course its not out yet. Personally I want a keyboard that has capabilities of charging my tab, kinda like the asus keyboard. Anyway way to extend my battery life!!
I may have missed out on all the Touchpad craziness, but I did pick up a closeout Touchpad bluetooth keyboard from Office Depot for $25+tax using a Staples coupon from here. They had it priced at $69.99 in-store, but their website has it at $29.99 on clearance so just ask for a price adjustment.
It's a really nice feeling chiclet keyboard, about the size of the Apple Bluetooth, and uses AA vs. AAA so I expect good battery life. Some of the function keys don't seem to work (brightness, power, not sure about media) but the top left works as ESC and the Control keys do what they're supposed to, and it works great with Connectbot so I'm happy.

Based on the picture I saw, it seems to be better suited for table top use and not lap use.

I looked at the logitech and samsung keyboards.
I chose the logitech.
I didn't want to have to remove my tab from its case to use a keyboard. Thats one of the reasons i ditched the asus.
I like the keyboard shortcuts on the logitech, and i like that i can use it with my home theater pc.
The samsung seems too expensive for a non wireless keyboard imo.
Besides, its just a rehash of the old tab keyboard.
are you guys talking about the zagg keyboard or the Logitech one with the little plastic stand. I'm waiting on the zagg one up for preorder on Logitech. Com

I keep my tab in the case as well. I agree, I don't think I want to keep taking my tab in and out of the case to use the keyboard.
I've been keeping my eye on the LogiTech keyboard. So far I'm starting to use Thumb Keyboard more.

The zagg case just arrived today, got two shipped to NZ (one for my gf) and i have to say im very impressed with it.
They claim several weeks battery life of normal use(not sure how that compares to alternatives). though it charges through micro usb along with most new phones.
its very light, but also feels solid at the same time, the keys feel similar to the asus transformer dock but they are definitely more responsive.
although they state on their website that it has poor compatibility with the 10.1 in portrait mode i think it works quite well, stands fine and doesn't feel like falling over at all.
it has raised rubber feet on top of the metal so you can lie your tablet down ontop of dock without worrying about damaging it.
it has all the shortcuts you need, including full music control, android function key. escape takes you to home screen while the back key is placed where right alt is on a normal keyboard.
all in all, very nice dock of solid build that weighs less then the tablet for $69.99
Edit: its also bluetooth, so no need to take tab out of its case.
Anyone know how to fix the problem of the onscreen keyboard popping up with any of them? It gets annoying.
which logitech keyboard are u talking about guys?

Also, can it be used on your lap, or does it only work on a table top surface?

Samsung Bluetooth Keyboard Case

Hi guys. I am really interested in buying one of these.
http://www.dodgybastards.co.nz/bluetooth-keyboard-case-for-10-1-galaxy.html
I was wondering if any of you guys own this? If anyone does would you mind giving me your opinion on this case?
There seem to be next to no reviews of this case out there whereas there are a lot of reviews about the zagg and Logitech cases. Unfortunately those brands oonly sell cases for ipad here in new zealand. Thanks
I own this and am quite happy with it. Looks good and the keyboard is a joy to type on.
Two things I'm not very happy about are weight (unavoidable, I guess) and, mostly, that there is no way to use it with the tab in portrait mode. Oh, and I think it is a tad too expensive.
I would have bought the Logitech, if only I could. For the portrait mode. But I don't at all regret having bought the Samsung.
You can see the thing in action on Youtube (mind you, in Italian). I was going to post the link but, as a new user, I can't. Search for "Tastiera originale Samsung per Galaxy Tab 8.9 e 10.1"

thanks for your reply mate, really appreciate it. yeh its a tad expensive isnt it, thats why I wanted some opinions before buying it. I never use my tablets in potrait mode, unless I am reading a comic which is very rare. the 10.1 just looks silly in potrait if you ask me lol
Also, I usually prefer to have it on my lap rather than on desks, does the stand sit stable on laps? because the stand kinda looks weak and unstable. I know it'll be fine on desks and tables but does it slide around when in your lap?
The stand is indeed very flimsy. OK for a table or desk, provided we don't push or pull the keyboard. As for a lap, I hadn't even considered it. Well, I just tried and... no. Absolutely not.
It is sort of possible to forget about the stand and leave the tablet flat. Requires one hand to hold it or it will hit the floor in no time. Not practical at all.
After I bought the Samsung case, I saw a Logitech look-alike on Amazon UK. I wouldn't really risk buying one now because: 1) I already own a very nice keyboard case, and 2) the only sellers offering it have appalingly low ratings. Still, if it works as advertised and one could find a reputable source...
Again, no links. But try searching for "Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard Aluminum Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab10.1"...

hey thanks for the link bro. I've owned similar cases for other tablets before and I really dont like the rubber keyboards on them.
oh and I went ahead and bought the samsung keyboard dock instead of the keyboard case. the dock is great. since it has got the 30 pin connector, the tab slots right in and you dont have to worry about it falling. and most importantly the dock sits stable on my lap and I can type just like a normal laptop. it doesnt move around. I really like it
omg that one is too expensive dude..
maybe you can check Apple bluetooth Keyboard.. quite good man. it's light, good materials and 100% compatible.
Logitech bluetooth keyboard is a very good choice aswell.
good luck bro.
I have the Zagg case and it is pretty great. I also have the Samsung white keyboard which is almost perfect except that it will revert to the Samsung on screen keyboard after using it . This is a pain since I use touchpal.
The new OEM keyboard case looks handsome but not as useful as Zagg.

Yes, it can. There's four little rubber stops that keep the keys off the screen when closed that double as feet when fold the keyboard under the way you described. And while yes, it's pricey, it's the slimmest, best fitting, and best made of the keyboard cases out there.
I purchased the official case cover a few days ago from Samsung. I am shocked about how few reviews there have been online. I could not find a decent video review. I am hoping that the build quality is decent, as my Zagg keyboard (Zaggfolio) broke - the space bar no longer works. I will probably take the replacement keyboard they sent me and sell it on ebay.
By the way, I saved 15% by using the coupon code: Samsung#1 on the Samsung.com website and got free next day air shipping.

Here is my review of the Samsung OEMKeyboard case.
Pro's
Very light, form fitting, well designed. Easy to type on.
Con's
No touchpad, no sd port, no built in battery, pretty expensive, cannot really use effectively in the portrait mode.
Overall, this is clearly superior to the Zaggfolio. .. but pales in comparison to the Asus Transformer keyboard (which is the same MSRP).

Just got this case today and I must say I am completely happy with this purchase.
It literally turns your tablet into a laptop.
Duqjag complains about not having a touch pad however the entire screen is a touch pad which would make a little square panel obsolete and difficult to use.
My only quarms with this keyboard is the left shift key being so small that you'll find yourself with a lot of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ on your screen when trying to capitalize a letter.
Also if there were a way to make certain trigger keys customizable this would enhance the experence too. e.g. the mail button opens the mail app as opposed to the google mail app. Internet button opens the stock browser as opposed to Opera or dolphin.
It stands up on almost every surface without issue and if you fold the keyboard over it also acts as a bottom panel to keep the screen in a face up position.
Vertically it doesnt work but do laptops????
Fork out the cash I say and enjoy the ride. As tablets get better internally, 10.1 will still be a dimension samsung keeps using so i can confidentally say that this case will be transferable to newer models.
Hi,
I've got the Samsung BT-Keyboard-Case here in Germany for a really affordable price - 57,- €, and it is worth every cent. The look and feel of the case is noble, but durable, and when I carry it arround here at my college the I-Thing-users get possessive.
It has a built-in recharable battery which lasts for some 3 days. I use it flipped over as a night stand at my bed, listening to Tune-in radio, I work with it every day, and the cover protects the case perfectly.
The only con is that it doubles the weight of the pure tab, but I really can say that I am happy with it and would always buy it again.
I am looking for keyboard as well, want something nice, shineny neath, but inexpensive. (Not sure it does exist )
Are those aluminum bluetooth keyboard on ebay and amazon so useless? Any suggestion pls.
If i can not find any good review on those no brand keyboard i might have to buy logitech and it costs fortune

UK Got this, for the price, absolutely fantastic £25
Just encase anyone has been thinking about a keyboard.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Perixx-PERI...W7E0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355469790&sr=8-1
A bit of remapping to do, but that was only to get extra functionality from the keyboard, like brightness control keys, a key to focus on recent apps etc.
Good quality believe it or not, no rattles feels solid, easy to set up.
And comes in whit and black (804i/804) flavours, got the white one as note is white
Enjoy

I do tend to use null keyboard when I've got one attached but then £ signs can't be typed without switching back ..
Do you have the some problem or have you found a workaround ?

Hi,
Take a look here, this is where I got up to speed with mapping.

What do u think of the keyboard?

I have ordered the Motorola keyboard and mouse instead that already has all the necessary Android keys. Unfortunately I am still waiting for it since the order 16 days later is still missing.
Interested to know why you want a keyboard?
I use my S-pen and write my input. My previous tablet was a TF101 with dock, so I had to type. The Note 10.1 and written input is so much quicker and more productive,

Very good , like it a lot. I think the only key i'd like to have is the running apps one, everything else is great and you couldn't get a better colour match for out notes !
Cool, $25 bluetooth keyboard.
Ordered one in USA, will write a review soon.
Review:
So it's been a few days since I got the keyboard and I am very impressed what $25 brings.
It's a very comfortable and responsive. Although I prefer taking notes using the s-pen. If I need to type something up, that's more then 2 senteces, this keyboard comes in handy.
Typing is great; like on a good netbook keyboard. I type very quickly and have not seen any stuck keys or other mishaps so far.
-Shift and backspace don't work at the same time, but why would you need it?
Will add more info on battery life when I get a chance to use it some more.
The price/quality is A+ in my book.

Exact bluetooth keyboard for $9.95 on Amazon

It's from the same seller that sells the Poetic cases so customer service should be stellar if there are any problems. And their keyboard for the 1st gen N7 gets pretty decent reviews.
http://www.amazon.com/Exact-Bluetoo...=8-1&keywords=exact+google+nexus+7+2+keyboard
Here are the reviews for the 1st gen:
http://www.amazon.com/Exact-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Rubberized-Non-Slip/dp/B00AD9RLJ6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_pc_2
This is exactly what I came here looking for: a Bluetooth keyboard to use with my Nexus 7. For $10, I think I'll pull the trigger. The reviews of the first-gen aren't too promising, but it seems like they took care of a few of the concerns voiced in those reviews (the Tab key, etc.). I guess I'll find out whether or not I like it when it gets here. Again, for $10, why not?
I figured the same. I've spent 10 bucks on dumber stuff than this...let's give it a try.
Wow... $10 looks like a steal for that keyboard; I bought what looks like the same one for 3 times as much off ebay.
If it is the same one, I like it a lot less than the model for the original Nexus 7. The ridge around it (the silver part) is actually taller for some reason -- though the entire thing is still slimmer thanks to the nexus 7 itself being slimmer -- but the worst part is the fit; it's loose, the tablet slides around (horizontally if you are reading the nexus logo straight on.) (If the "Exact" model DOESN'T have that issue please let me know so I can get one. )
None of that is a deal breaker for me though; I still like the case enough to use it. Keeps the screen protected and clips in and out, then lets you type when you need to.

By the time someone gets it and posts a review, they're probably going to raise the price. They always start off with an introductory promo price like they did with the Poetic case. FWIW, the same keyboard for the old N7 is $18.95.
I should've bought it last night. The price has already doubled & jumped to $19.95.
Damn, I wanted it for 10 bucks. I'll wait for it.

See edit; the issue outlined in the following paragraph has been remedied:
Well I got mine today, and I have to say, I'm kind of disappointed. It fits the tablet perfectly when closed, but it JUST misses the mark when standing it up. It seems like the lip where the bottom part of the tablet hits, to prevent it from falling over, is around half a millimeter too long, the tablet almost catches, but doesn't quite do it. I think just a little bit more of the tablet needs to get underneath it, and it'll catch. I have some pics that I took; I'll upload them later tonight or early tomorrow (I don't usually post from the mobile app).
That aside: I really like this case. It fits the N7 snugly when closed, the keyboard part works well, and it seems like it would protect the tablet if one should need it. I would be extremely satisfied with this keyboard/protector if only the tablet stood in it. I'll try to contact customer service and let them know the critical design flaw so they can remedy it ASAP.
EDIT:
OK, never mind the first paragraph. Figured it out. The little rubber strip down in the groove where the tablet sits to stand up wasn't fully glued down so the tablet was sitting higher than it should have been. After pressing the strip down to be flush with the bottom of the groove, the tablet now stands up. I'm happy now. After using it this weekend I'll edit this post with a review after using it a few days.

Indirectly (meaning requiring the Bluetooth antenna be on at all times)? Very little in the grand scheme of things.

I heard that this logitech keyboard was incompatible with the new Nexus 7 and gives repeated inputs because of that bluetooth bug.
Hope to hear from you coz I'm considering this keyboard as well.

I received it today and briefly tested it. Didn't experience any repeated inputs.
I really like it so far. Very comfortable to type on and the function keys work well except for the browser key which kind of sucks. I'm wondering if there's any way to map that key to open a 3rd party browser.

Thank you for your input, I might go ahead and buy that
I purchased this keyboard because for $10 why not. The build quality is nice, connecting to bluetooth is simple and it works, it functions well, the rechargeable battery is nice and everything. I especially like that it clips on to the N7 but that's also the 2 issues I have with the keyboard. 1 being it's a bit too small for my comfort and 2 being that the clip right by the space bar makes it difficult to hit the space bar. It's not really the keyboard fault I guess, those 2 things are sacrificed for the convenience of having it clip onto the N7 (though I do have a case already, it makes it easier to be able to carry the KB together with the case, haven't used my N7 outside the house yet however). For what I paid it's great, I wouldn't send it back but it still doesn't make typing that much easier for me. Trust me I'm trying to get better with typing on it, I've typed about those damn quick brown foxes so many times but I just end up making so many typos.
The only other keyboard I was looking at was the $40 Logitech one but it's pretty bulky for a 7 inch tablet (though that's probably the smallest it can get without sacrificing functionality) , it takes 4 batteries and I hear it has issues with the latest Jelly Bean. So whatever, for $10 I'll take what I can get.

I think you're referring to this Logitech keyboard I posted above.

I haven't had any issues with it. I wouldn't necessarily call it bulky but yea, it's nowhere close to as compact as the Exact keyboard. I was willing to sacrifice a little size for typing comfort though. Got it for $16 on an Ebay auction.

Nice, that's a steal at $16 and it looks like it actually functions as a great keyboard. I personally love Logitech products, I haven't seen much negative about that keyboard (aside from the batteries imo, is it 4 AAA? Some reviews said only 2 but some say 4)and I'd probably buy it also if I could find it for around that price. Bulkys not the word so much as not as convenient relative to the Exact.. I originally wrote too big for a 7 inch tablet, carrying it around and everything, though it really needs to be that big for functionality but yea, if you need to actually write some lengthy stuff on the go then it's worth the trade off.

External Bluetooth Keyboard for Tab S2 9.7 ???

Anyone tried using any external Bluetooth keyboard for our Tab S2 9.7 ? Any recommendations before i go out and randomly buy stuff ?
...
I've got the Logitech KeysToGo keyboard paired up with mine.. (typing on it now!) Works a treat.. And so slim and lightweight too. Add to that a bluetooth mouse and the laptop is now redundant!
Have a look at the official Samsung BT keyboard and case, the keyboard is also removable if you don't want to use the case, best matching set for the S2 9.7, if they had one for the S2 8.0, I would of got it.
I got the Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard and really like it. http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Universal-Keyboard-Android-devices/dp/B00GWGLUZ0

Thanks guys... i want to leave the keyboard on my desk... so the original Samsung keyboard case is too expensive if someone grabs it on my table.
Will look into the microsoft and logitech keyboards... does the screen keyboard show up when paired with the logitech or microsoft keyboards when you start typing?
...
The on screen keyboard is disabled when connected via bluetooth.. As soon as the keyboard is switched off it reappears. You can also toggle this in the notification bar. Hope that helps!
Thank you... all your responses helped... will be buying one soon.

Second vote for this!! Fantastic bloody keyboard.... Works flawlessly..never fails to pair... Battery life awesome... Expensive ($80 in AU ) but worth the money. I have it paired with the samsung original book cover... Great combo....All of my work colleagues with ipads with silly key board cases look on with envy... So light and easy to carry... And you don't have it in the way when you are just using the tab for browsing etc... Highly recommend it

I've just ordered a LG Rolly keyboard. My S2 is a laptop replacement so want something quick to setup and really comfortable to type on. Will report back when I've tried it.
One of the main selling points for me was being able to switch easily between phone and tablet. If this I've doesn't work I'll buy the Microsoft one. I've got a Surface Pro 3 so I know what that one feels like to type on. It's ok but am hoping the LG model has a better feel.

Update: bought the LG Rolly. Didn't like the haptics , my fingers kept mashing the keys and getting into the wrong places. The wife I don't mind it though so I think she might end up adopting it. I ended up with a Logitech keys to go for Android keyboard . The stand works really well and my fingers seem to feel at home and can touch type easily. The Key Travel is less then what I'm used to but it would be overly critical to call it mushy and I'm quite happy with a compromise considering how light weight the keyboard is . I really wish the Logitech supports more than one BT profile but I've realised for Long portions of text I can always use Evernote that synchronises between my tablet and my phone to share information.

The Logitech Keys to Go looks really good. Simple, no folding hinges to break. Lightweight, spill proof. So thin that it'll be easy to pack. Micro USB chargeable. With the discounts on Amazon it looks good value for money too. The downside is that that it only accepts single profile, I want to use the keyboard for two devices so that's not going to work for me.

I tried the official Samsung keyboard case in store. It looks really smart and matches the tablet really well. I like that you can remove the keyboard as well for better ergonomics. What I didn't like though was that the keys seemed quite small for the size of the keyboard. I wouldn't want to go any smaller than my iGo Stowaway keyboard which I love typing on but keeps breaking (I'm on my third one and they don't make them anymore).

[/COLOR]Before,i bought keyboards from other brands for my tablets, like logitech for my Note 10.1. That works, but the fine things, like recent app key, or menu button, often are not there. Ok,i help myself with external keyboard helper, but it's a compromise all times. This time i think, ok,the price is close to the same. So i bought the original. And, what should i say, I'm more than happy with it. .......
The difference are the small things, but a lot of them :
It fits exactly, it's very light, think, the half of weight as a logitech, and,it covers not the whole device. The Tab S2 is very slim and light ,but if i cover it with a book cover of logitech, it have the same weight as an five year old tab......
Also, you have two bluetooth connectors inside,so you can use it with two devices. It have the specified keys for recent apps, multitasking, volume, and much more. And it contains a touch pad, so you dont need a seperate mouse. Also, the tab isn't covered at all,so you feel the tab also,it's inside the cover.....the mounts, with two clips on the back of the tab, are very stable. But i have really problems, to mount it at the first time. It's not really shown in the quick start guide. But I'm afraid to press on the display, to click the pin into the tab, cause it needs a lot of pressure at the first time and i don't want to crash the display. .....but it works, and if it connected one time,it gets much easier the next time.....it's a good connecting system. But new. Also, the on off mechanism works with the original cover. If you close it,tab goes standby, otherwise, open the cover, tab wakes up. Very fine is, the keyboard ca be seperated from the cover. It fits with magnetic points in the cover, and you can use it complete seperate. If you use the Docking Station (with lan, hdmi and usb ports, great assecory too),you don't need to put it in the dock, like on older dockings by Samsung, no,there is a cable to connect docking station and device. Perfekt, dont need to put tab out of the cover for connecting the station. All in all, the book cover is really great, and if you wear it without the keyboard, it's very light weight, so you don't lost the slim and light advantage of the device........but, there is no possibility to scroll with the mouse pad, or zoom in and out by pinch. Think, there is no multi finger support. Means,I don't figure out it now....maybe anyone can tell me too......

Does anyone know if the Sony Z4 Tablet keyboard would fit with the Tab s2? I know it might look a bit funny when closed up but would it fit the hinge ok? I'd prefer a hinge that mimcs a laptop rather than a Surface (as the Samsung book keyboard cover does)
I have the official bluetooth keyboard and I have a question about the shortcuts: Mainly, what does the F3 shortcut do?
I agree the Keys-to-go keyboard is a great companion with our S2. Ultra portable and keeps with the same design when matched with the book cover.
My only gripe with it, that I have not found a solution for, is that when hitting the hot key for Mail it prompts for a default mail app (gmail or mail) and even if you select the app and say 'Always' it does not remember your default app and will always prompt for the selection when you hit the key. Likewise for the Music key.
Can anyone comment?
Yup I have that issue too... Have not found a fix.

hi cktlcmd, which one did you end up buying? and how are you liking whichever keyboard you ended up with?
I bought this one:

My though was that having an integrated keyboard with the book cover, wouldn't be handsome. This tablet is very thin, having a big book cover would downgrade that.

I just purchased one as well. The white model.
I've never been a fan of chiclet style keyboards -- since day one when Apple started the craze for all things thin-as-hell -- but I don't really have a choice if I want a portable bluetooth keyboard for a tablet. They're all chiclet style. The Logetech's Keys-to-go keyboard looks even worse in terms of key depress travel length. That definitely wouldn't work for me.
So after a decent amount of research, I think this Microsoft Universal Keyboard will be the best for my needs. I'm giving this one an honest try.
Will post some thoughts after I've used it for a week or two.
I bought the logitech keyboard... works great... but lately i find the on screen keyboard is sufficient enough to use with WPS office word.

Yes, I find I don't need to use the physical keyboard as often, thanks to SwiftKey. I do like having the Microsoft keyboard available when it's appropriate.
