Seidio Surface for LTE is for sale - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus-lte-surface-case-black-p/csr3ssgnl-bk.htm
Oddly, it's not a slide-on but rather a snap-on. I think this is a good thing, however, because for both of my previous phones the slide case became loose. This snap-on will probably fare better.

I sent them a message asking whether it would fit a phone with the extended battery, and hoping they'll reply soon.

colors?
Looks like amethyst and black. Any word on any other colors?
thx!

And? Did they?

I ordered a black one today. I'm a little skeptical over the snap-on design because of how happy I've been with the Surface on my last 2 phones (Eris and TBolt), which were both the slide-on type. The case options are pretty limited for a phone with this much hype but I'm sure the Surface will deliver as it has in the past.

I just ordered this case with the holster and I have the extended battery so I'll let you know on Thursday whether they are compatable. If not, I'll probably return the battery, as I love Seidio's cases. I used the surface case on my OG Droid for the past two years, and while I had to replace the holster once due to the spring breaking it otherwise did a great job and protected my phone from a drop onto pavement as well as regular wear and tear. It would be nice to know before thursday though if the extended battery will work with the Seidio case. 250mah for a negligible increase in thickness is really great. I think the phone should have shipped with this battery by default.

It's not a slide on because of the curvature and the hump on the back.
Just like the Nexus S, I had the Seidio Surface. It's the same way.
It's two pieces sliced sideways.
One is the rear part, one is the front part.
I personally do not like this version. You can feel it creak and move around as you hold the phone because of how it holds/stay on the phone.

I just bought the rocket fish case from best buy today and I have an extended battery. Fit is tight but it fits, I would strongly recommend this case.

So do you have this case for the gnex yet or are you referring to the nexus s version that creaks? I had the surface for my Droid incredible and loved it so I am very interested in the version for the gnex. If you have the case would you mind posting pics? Thanks.

I had it on my Nexus S. I will not be buying this for my Galaxy Nexus unfortunately.
The way it goes on is like a sandwich, the phone is the meat, and the bread is the case that goes on top/bottom of the phone and latches on in itself.
This is something what the Seidio Galaxy Nexus is like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...d-Case-Black-Phone-Cover-Screen-/380395449922
Snaps on front/back.
I'll have to find some other case with a face in holster.
This one is looking good, though it doesn't protect the top/bottom of the phone.

I purchased mine Thurs night, before I bought my phone and, sporadically, the extended battery on Friday.
Case shipped out Friday..expect to have soon. Will report.

Seidio say no-go on extended battery...
Hi, all..
Just got off the fone with Seidio Customer Support (outstanding CS, BTW). Seidio says no-go on the VZW extended battery w/ Surface case.
The CS agent sounded quite knowledgeable, but I will await reports from you brave souls that have ordered it. The VZW extended battery really doesn't add that much bulk to the back of the device, but tight tolerances make for a better fit....IMHO..
She further stated that she will forward this to the development folks. I assured her that their will be a demand...
Cheers...
Sk..

Has anyone received their case yet? I ordered mine on Friday, got an email saying it shipped via USPS on Monday but USPS says only the electronic billing slip was received.
Edit: Looks like the Black Surface case is on backorder now too...

Is there a lip around the screen from the case? I'd like a close-to-flush feel on the front.
No Go. No Verizon Extended Battery support.
Ringke's Slim model denied me also.

at least its finally posted so we know for sure its real close!
Can you enlight me about this cases. What is so great about innocases?
Features, quality?
Looks good (judging based off of the Innocase for the Nexus One).
How might this case be better than say a TPU/Epik style case? Just curious.
These are the only cases I know of that you can also use with a holster.when I had it for my nexus there was also a option to upgrade to "rugged"which was perfect for me because I was doing construction.

I second that! I usually use a holster with my phone and this case looks sweet. Otterbox won't be coming out with a defender case for our phone so I think this is perfect! I'm gonna us this for the daily and the TPU case when I need to go light
Nice. This is the kind of case I was looking for. It reminds me a bit of the Agent 18 cases for the iPhone (but slightly higher quality, it looks like).
Has anyone used these cases before on other phones? It looks like it has some rubberized material on the outside? Does it attract lint and dust? The official Gel case (which has now become slightly stretched and useless) continues to pick up every annoying piece of debris. I've given up and gone bare until something better (like this case) comes along.
Do a search for "innocase surface" on YouTube and you'll see a lot of reviews. They describe a slightly rubberized feel to the case, but apparently it isn't tacky and doesn't attract dust or lint.
Yes it is 2 pieces and it slides together. Its had that nice slightly rubberized feel to it but not too muck to their point it grips too much

Sold, sold, sold. I want this thing!
Do they typically sell these at T-Mo corporate stores? Or do you guys just get them online usually?
Great holster
I'm a big fan of the Seidio holsters. I've had one for my last few Blackberries. I tried several different holsters but I was traveling a lot and working in ceilings and not one of them lasted more than a month. The clip would inevitably break off. It happened once and I didn't notice until later. I had to spend over an hour looking for my phone that was on vibrate!
I chose the Seidio because it looked rugged. It never failed no matter how much I abused it. Now that I have an MT4G I'm really looking forward to getting one of their holsters for it. I've never used the Innocase, but I hightly recommend the holster. It's built very tough without looking like it. I don't see they have one listed yet for use without the case, but I'm hoping they'll make one.

Really, I bought a Otterbox Commuter for my Captivate and hated it and returned it the next day. The hard plastic looked cheap and the rubber was a lint magnet. I don't have experience with Seido cases but I bought a holster for my wife's iPhone4 and it's great.
Had an Innocase on my BB 8900 and It was good for the most part. It was one of the slide up ones. But It DID scratch the chrome part on the phone.
I did drop it multiple times on the floor and nothing happened the phone. BUT, one day it dropped about 3 feet down to concrete and the case cracked and wouldn't hold the phone well like it did before.
IT did fall on concrete almost that high before and nothing until that one day.
Also sliding the case off a couple of times messed up its sturdiness. Sturdiness as in, when I'd slide it up it stay on. after a while it wouldn't stay on well.
On my N1 I bought an Otterbox case and it was the best case I had. Even though it attracted lint and was hard to take off sometimes, I wouldn't buy any other case !
EDIT: got a battery from them for my N1. The thickness made me get rid of it. Come to find out the stock battery lasted way longer.
I thought the Innocase II is the one that was 2 pcs and snaps together.

Really?? You apparently didn't have the POS they released for the OG Droid, lol. But I'll agree the case for the Thunderbolt is EXCELLENT. Fits really well, not too bulky and works great with the combo holster. The only thing I don't really like is that it's a bit 'slippery' compared to the naked phone.
Can someone that has the innocase 2 in hand snap a pic or two? I never trust company photos. Also, how is it sliding in and out of pockets? My current case sucks big time.

I'll snap some more pics tonight but the company photos are spot on. This is of the phone in the case on the ezeStand that I took for them to judge the fit:
https://picasaweb.google.com/mcalab...authkey=Gv1sRgCJK00N-dyqD4owE&feat=directlink
As you can see it adds a small blue lip all around the phone. It's a two piece "snap" design (two halves slide over the phone from the top and the bottom and snap/lock into place). It doesn't add much dimension, for my large hands it adds just enough to make the device very comfortable. At first I thought it was a little to 'slippery' but now that's it's worn in it's great. Much better than the POSs I dealt with for the OG Droid. Def worth the money (and I got the combo because I love their 'screen in' holster).
I ended up breaking down and ordering one earlier anyway. My current case is driving me nuts since it stick in my jeans pocket and my work shirt pocket every single time. Thanks though.

Best EVO case?

I definitely need some recommendations on cases. I currently have a Sedio Innocase Active (blue). Its definitely taken a beating. And the soft (inner part of the case gets annoying, and is definitely showing some wear. What cases do you guys have on your phones? I need a new case ASAP! I dont really have much of a preference. If you want SERIOUS protection, the Ballistic HC is the only way to go. I ordered mine the day they released them and haven't even thought about using anything else since. Some people don't like how bulky it is, but nothing else even comes close to the level of protection you get with the Ballistic.

i started having issues with my ballistic case a few months ago. The rubber border next to the power button became detached, and I received a replacement for the front that was a little different in design. The rubber on it started peeling as well and the proximity sensor doesn't pick up, so it is impossible for my screen to turn on while in a call (hitting the power button in a call doesn't work either)
I'm looking into an alternative, and possibly one to hold an extended battery case as well.
I use the Otter commuter case, modified to fit with my extended battery. Dropped it pretty hard twice on concrete, phone came out just fine. Only issue I have with the case is the cover for the HDMI and Micro usb ports. Doesn't stay closed.
I know you didn't ask about an extended battery, but I'm just going to put in my .02c for the trident case with the extended 2000MaH battery:
http://www.tridentcase.com/product_5_117.html
It has exchangable rubber bumpers that you can purchase separately, AND it has a built in screen protector. i've had mine for months now, dropped the device 2x and absolutely NO damage.
Wonderful case for the price and an extended battery that really didn't add that much thickness.
Otterbox Commuter = Awesome
I HIGHLY recommend the Otterbox Commuter series case. I've had it for almost a year now, and it is amazing. I've been pretty rough with my phone, but it has saved it from any sort of damage. It provides fantastic protection and feels solid and strong in my hands, but at the same time it doesn't make the phone seem bulky and has a great very smooth, sleek, thin feel to it. Definitely the best of both worlds in terms of balancing strong protection with sleek good looks.
Another thing I love about Otterbox is their amazing customer service and 1-year no-questions-asked warranty guarantee. I recently broke the case itself somehow (the phone stayed completely protected though) so I emailed their warranty services and told them, and they simply asked for my shipping address and sent me a new case in under a week! They didn't even ask for a copy of the receipt or pictures of the broken case. It was the fastest, easiest warranty claim I've ever had.
If you do go for an Otterbox, definitely buy it off eBay and not retail. You'll save yourself a good $20-25. It's about $12 new on eBay. I'd post a link, but I'm still a noob
Otterbox is definitely the way to go. I am unaware of what solutions they have available for extended batteries but it may be worth while to look into.

I too have to throw in a full reccomendation for the Otterbox Commuter.
Fits like a glove, and keeps the phone stylishly protected. It looks great, and has saved my phone from 4 drops I've made (one which I thought the case couldn't have saved it from, but nevertheless it did.)
I like the silicone ones. easy to deal with.

Otterbox commuter is inmho the best if your hard on your phones, or you want extra protection.

I had the otterbox impact case. It is way too loose, doesnt fit snug on the phone. Over time gets even bigger almost a quarter inch too long vertically than the phone. Dissapointing.

Galaxy Nexus Case-Mate Barely There Review

Hey everyone,
I've seen a couple of people say they received their Barely There cases, but no pictures or reviews. I attempted to contact Case-Mate via twitter along with others to ask when they were selling it since the case was already being sold through 3rd party channels. They stated those must be "preorders" as the cases aren't ready.
Well - I ordered one of these supposed "preorders" on eBay and the case arrived today... so much for Case-Mate knowing what's going on with their own product.
I did a video review you can see on YouTube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joJ2...text=C241afUDOEgsToPDskK0QAnQlbjsSJm_K3Pq2wWK
I'd like to make it a point that I believe this was indeed made for the Verizon version since it just doesn't fit quite as tight and fitted as every previous Barely There case I have purchased. It's not a BAD fit, but it just isn't perfect. If you have any questions, let me know.
** Update **
After using the case for a bit, I have to say I am simply not satisfied with the fit. The phone doesn't feel right with this case and the difference in fit between the GSM and VZW version is too much for me. The fit just isn't nice enough to justify the price.
Thanks for the review. Was thinking of picking one of these up, but now that I know the 3rd-party vendors are selling the Verizon version, I'm going to wait until Case-Mate (hopefully) officially releases a GSM version.
Interesting I just received my pre order from Clove in the UK and it does seem as if it should be for a slightly thicker phone. It sticks up about 1mm around the sides of the screen. Checked the box and it says GSM version.
Not used these cases before any previous users, is this normal?

Have a look at this listing I found on eBay:
Case-mate Barely There Case for Samsung Galaxy Nexus i515/Nexus Prime i9250 - Wh
Feature 1 : Compatible: Samsung Galaxy Nexus i515/Nexus Prime i9250
That probably answers why the case wasn't snug fitting, it's made to accommodate the larger size of the i515 for Verizon.
I'm using one that I ordered from thecellguru and I don't see any issues with it. I'm definitely not worried about the phone coming out of the case accidentally and wouldn't really say that it fits loose.
The case does have a bit of a lip coming up higher than the screen, but most cases have that so in the event that you drop it screen-down the case will take some of the impact.
All in all I'm quite happy with the case, it has a good texture, not sticky/rubbery, is very thin and adds little bulk to the phone.
I ordered one, but I'm sending it back. Its definitely designed for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus
Its just slightly loose, and leaves small gaps for dust/dirt to creep in... Its a shame because these barely there cases are the best. Hopefully there will be a GSM 9250 variant in the future.
For Verizon GN users, this will be a great case. For GSM its just decent.

I have to say that after trying it for a bit I am rather disappointed with the fit. The phone is just too easy to flick off the case and doesn't feel nice and fitted like an authentic fitted Barely There case fits.
I can't recommend this for GSM GN's for the price.
Wonder if this case would work well with the extended battery, I'm thinking about getting the 2100 mah battery from VZ.
I want one of these but I dont think I will be getting this soon. I want it to be snug and fitting, how it should be.
I have the actual 'Barely There' case and I'm not completely satisfied with it. The fit doesn't feel or look right on the phone. I'm pretty sure if I ever dropped the phone the case would come flying off easily.

Thinnest case for extended battery Nexus ?

Just bought the extended battery at Verizon for half off, also walked out with the Incipio double case. This case feels tough and sure can take s beating, great for outdoor work and kids dropping my phone. But this case is a little too thick for my liking.
But on weekends or going out would like a second thinner case. What thin cases fit the extended battery ? Anything like the Feather or Rearth slim fit ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I just use ghost armor full body, and then I use a belt clip pouch that I drop my phone into. It is the slimmest option, I protect the whole phone from scratches, and I can keep it on my side. I'm not really worried about dropping it, because even with a case if you drop it in the right spot, you will end up with a broken phone. That's what insurance is for. At least that's my opinion. I hope this helps.
I just picked up the Diztronic case below and it fits great and doesn't add much thickness to the phone- nice and thin. I don't have my extended battery yet but per the reviews this case fits, just a little more tightly which is fine with me.

+1 on the Diztronic 3rd revision case. I am running it and I love it. I have 3 other cases and this is now my daily driver. You can even leave the extended battery cover on too. I use the Incopio when I need extra protection.
Also a big +1 on the Diztronic rev 3 case. Full access to all controls, full protection yet thin. Just about perfect as far as cases go and I have tried a few.
Diztronic has very upstanding customer service to boot!

With the Verizon extended battery going for $24.99, it should just come standard with the phone. At such a cheap price, and only adds like a business card extra thickness it is so worth it. Plus you may get up to 2 extra hours on it over stock.
Point being, with extended battery so popular, I would hope case companies realize this, and pump out cases that are officially designed for it.

I checked their website and it isn't showing the extended battery at all. You can purchase these at their stores for 25.00?

My local Verizon store didn't have any in stock but they ordered it for me w/ free 2-day shipping. Still $24.99
I went into the biggest Verizon store in my area, called first asked if they had the Nexus extended battery, they said YES, and tons of accessories too. Go in there and they said the battery is 50% off, they had like 4 on the shelf. Just call the largest Verizon store in your area, I am sure they stock them.
I am using the phone today with no case, crosses fingers The Incipio 2pc case was just way too bulky for me, felt like a my old EVO 4G which was a giant. Back to caselsss and this phone looks awesome, the gray color makes this phone looks stealth, like something a pilot from F-22 Raptor plane would have in the cockpit I just want a razor thin case to go around this now.
Oddly enough I tried the High gloss silicone Verizon case and its is really nice. feels thin in the hand
I use the SGP capsule case. Its clearly designed for the GSM version because my Verizon + extended battery keeps the lips from grabbing the edges all the way.
But the phone is on there and not going anywhere. You'd have to really look at it to see what I'm talking about.
I'm still waiting for something specifically designed for the Verizon with extended battery.
LTE EX Galaxy Nexus CM9
Asus Transformer Revolver

Hopefully we get some news soon from the big case companies
Does anyone know if the Diztronic case works with the GSM Galaxy Nexus with an extended battery?
The best case I've tried period that also works with the extended battery is the Case-Mate Pop case. It was recalled initially due to a lack of clearance around the micro usb port. In about another two weeks they'll have the second revision out and it will be my daily driver.
I've tried the Case-Mate Tough Case, the Boxwave Active, the Boxwave Slim Rubberized Shell Case, and the Seidio Surface. The Pop case sucked less than the rest and fits the extended battery with good protection and minimal bulk.
can't comment if it's the thinnest, but it fits and looks good.
