Nexus pictures look good in camera app, but bad in gallery - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Greetings everyone! I have to say I'm really loving this phone so far! But has anyone noticed that right after you take a picture it looks great while still in the camera app, but when you click on it and it opens in the gallery it looks really grainy/darker etc. Wonder why this is?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App

When the camera app is on the screen is at full brightness by when you switch to the gallery the screen dims back down hence the pictures looking darker

Also when you view it gallery you might need to give it a little longer to load. I've noticed that the pics look a little blurry/grainy when I first open the pic, but if I wait a few seconds it sharpens and looks good. The brightness can also play a big role.

or if you have Chainfire 3D installed it may change the textures

where SGS 2 store screen capture?

Greetings:
I took a few screen capture of my SGS 2 by holding the home and power/wake button at the same time. How can access to these pictures and send them via email?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dont want to beat a dead horse...but Gallery > Screen shots
Screenshots!!!
I'm super super super excited!!!
I have known for over a year that all Samsung Android phones (with touchwiz) have a built in screenshot engine. The problem is that nobody has been able to figure out how to use it. I've even triggered it accidentally a few times on my Vibrant. There is no documentation on this feature but I finally stumbled across the answer while playing with my new Galaxy S II.
HOME+POWER
Please try this on some other Sammy phones and report back. I would love to find out if it works on all of them.
ah yes, it's actually documented in the manual
but as usual no body reads it, not even me
LOL
but it was mentioned already on the release date of the phone, and demoed
there's also another way to capture screen, something about tilting the screen and pressing something, forgot that part
Thank you all for your help.
I found it burried in the app screens.

It appears that 4.0.3 has fixed the camera issues

You know how everyone is complaining about the camera, mainly because photos come out blurry/not sharp. The thing causing that was VERY slight movement when clicking the button to take the pic. It seemed to come out of focus very easily.
Now, with 4.0.3, I can get sharp pictures even with more movement. It's not so "touchy" anymore and stays in focus.
Anyone else notice?

If this is true, then it's awesome.

I hope it's true. There's more than one camera bug.
Im surprised how well it focuses in low light with out flash.

You know they could offer a shooting mode that used the phones sensors to detect camera (phone) movement and hold off the shutter until motion is minimized to improve sharpness. You might want a mode that does this but other modes, like sports, that don't delay the shutter.

Good to hear, what about the white haze when near a window. Now, can anyone recommend a 4.0.3 ROM without any visual mods?

You can change the boot animation yourself. Here's a link to a 720p version of the default ICS animation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380655&highlight=animation
EDIT: I've found the 720p version of the original Galaxy Nexus boot animation lags a bit, so if you're not happy with that one here's a link to a compilation of boot animations: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364044&highlight=nexus+s+boot+animation
My personal favourite so far is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402764
wish google would add an option for the instant shutter or delayed snap after autofocus. 90% of the bad pictures are taken because the person did not either tap to focus or held down the camera button for it to focus
Same goes with panos, I wish they gave you an option for auto panning versus the snap then move, like sgs2 did
Switched to redemption a 4.0.3 ROM and now pics are a lot better. Very impressed.

Why has no one posted a photo yet? Show us some of that 4.0.3 camera goodness!

Rogers no pics during video.....

I just noticed this now because I wanted to use the feature but my Rogers SGS3 can't take pics during video. The buttons not even there. I thought we were supposed to have that feature. Anybody else have that? Fix?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I thought that while recording video all you had to do was touch the screen to take pics?
That just causes it to refocus on that area.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Are you sure? I don't think you can manually focus during video recording. Taping the screen during recording looks like it is refocusing the camera but that is in fact the animation it makes when it is snapping a still during recording. No sound, no sliding to the side animation like when taking photos. Just that slight focusing effect to let you know you it worked.
Check your gallary.
Not working, tried that. Just refocusing the video. You can see a button on the bottom right that says AF to establish AF again. No pictures in the gallery.

I am on rogers and can take pictures during video.
when making a video all you do is press the little camera icon beside the red record button
I noticed that it says nexus so iam guess your not on stock rogers?
I'm with rogers using a custom rom and that feature is there

is there an option somewhere to turn it on? Neither of our phones have the option.

That is odd. Sorry I was of no help. Not sure what the issue is and unfortunately I'm not on a stock rom so I cant dig thru the cam/settings to be of any help.
Can someone who is on a stock rom that is able to take stills while recording post a screen grab of their cam app to show what its supposed to look like?

I've seen pictures of what it supposed to look like. Just was hoping maybe there was an option I missed. Very frustrating.....
If you have anti shake turned on then the option to take pictures while video recording is not there. Simply turn off anti shake

Green Camera and Pictures

Hey guys,
I bought a galaxy nexus with jellybean 4.1.1 but I have problems with the camera. It takes pictures with an obvious green tint. When I play around the settings it makes it either worse or not but still has a green tint. Also I cant even record videos because everytime I want to start the camcorder application it crashes. I upload a video to show you guys my problem. I really hope its not a hardware based error.

am i really the only one with this problem?

Camera and pictures quality

Hi
I don't expect much from tablet camera but pictures taken with my n7 look pretty bad and weird. Even in decent light photos are very grading r with lots of noise. Is this normal? I couldn't find a thread for n7 photos, maybe my camera is defective?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
It's normal, it's odd though that it saves screenshots in high quality PNG format but uses JPG compression for photo's.
I actually thought the pictures from my Nexus 7 are excellent (considering it's coming from a tablet). I have noticed that it doesn't do a great job in low light conditions. Here is one I took and it looks pretty good to me. You may wanna double check your settings.

Yeah but what setting I can change if there is not many in pre-installed camera app, I also tried some other apps available in play store but pictures are always the same. I must take a picture outside in very good light like yours and then compare it. I use HTC one which has only 4 mega pixel camera but pictures are much much better.
Btw, yours picture quality is very good, check this out on pc and see what difference is between mine and yours

Guys can you post some random pictures taken with your n7 so I can compare them with mine

Indoors that is pretty much par for the course. When there is bad/low lighting the camera is not very good.
