Please help? Issues on some Wifi networks - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have a strange issue where I can't send or receive data over my wifi network at work. I am connected to it just fine and I know it's working because my co-workers are sitting next to me and do not have any issues on their EVO or Thunderbolt. This has been this way since I got the phone. Strange thing is that it works just fine on my wifi at home. Has anyone else experienced this or have any tips on how to troubleshoot this issue? Thanks in advance.

Problem using Portable Hotspot after latest OTA

Hi guys
First thing my desire is unbranded and unrooted.
Ever since applying the last OTA my portable hotspot has stopped working.... I connect to a data network no problem, but when I turn on portable hotspot, I loose the data connection. I can see it trying to get the connection back but it loops for around a minute and then gives up with no errors.
My wifi has been fine since the upgrade.
Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas how to fix it???
Many thanks
David
I'm not sure this is the answer to your problem, but hey maybe it is the answer so someone else's problem
A Wifi device is either a client or a server - not both at the same time.
If you tell the phone to be a Wifi server, and it was connected to a Wifi network then that connection ceases to exist.
Next it will broadcast its own Wifi network for other devices to use. Those devices (and your phone) can then browse the web, send mail etc. using your 2G/3G connection, and they can talk to one another using local ip addresses handed out by the phone.
I hope this cleared things up, if not for you then maybe for someone else
Yup - experiencing an issue whenever I select "Press to turn on".. doesn't seem to do much of anything (beyond the Processing dialogue).. and while I get the Icon in the Notification bar there is no hotspot available. Can't configure it either..
similar specs on the phone... unbranded / unrooted

I;ve been having mixed success since yesterday. My issue is with sending. I seem to be receiving just fine but sending can be hit-and-miss. Haven't had a single retry-sending work. Pretty frustrating. BTW, I doubt it's your phone, mine's an LG Metro running 4.0.4
So i called rogers tech support and they did a "mobile network reset" (i don't know what that even means... isn't that just like turning off the internal radio?) but they told me to monitor my signal loss for the next 24 hours. Is anyone else is noticing that they completely lose signal let me know. Im worried its my phone and not the mobile network.
I found the signal on my M7 was perfect, 5 bars for where I live. Now on the M8 signal is up and down, mostly down (as in no bars).... Frustrating.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
I have the same issue on Rogers with my M8. Did an exchange of the phone and same thing... Pretty sure it's Rogers' network problem.
My data would sometimes turn on and off repeatedly before the signal shuts off completely. Also my SMS isn't sending properly from time to time, people would get duplicates lol

Wifi connection is terrible

I'm having major issues with wifi. So I am connected to my home wifi and having issues, basicalliy losing connection constantly. If I turn off wifi then turn it back on it will work again. The signal strength is 5 bars constantly (I'm about 20 feet from the router). I have made sure all other devices connected to the wifi are working while the phone is not.
Is anybody else having issues? I'm on OJ6 and I had this issue on the prior software as well. I'm non-rooted and have not tried the wifi patch as I don't think that is the issue.
Anybody else having this issue? If so, did you fix it?
I'm almost thinking the modem in the phone is faulty if nobody else is having this issue. I was hoping it was the kernel and I could just change that but... two issues there.. there aren't alternatives to try and it doesn't appear others have this issue.
Any help or insight is appreciated. If I do have to take it back to Sprint will they replace it? I've had the phone since October 1st.
Same problem here

Can't connect to Wi-Fi

I can only connect to one network for sone weird reason and all the other networks say something in the lines of network access denied or timed out. I had this problem with the network im on rn as well but for some reason it magically dissapeared everyone else can connect to them. I read about an encryption issue but the incription for the different wifi signals are the same. Does anyone have more knowledge on this subject?
Same problem
I'm experiencing the same issue on my tl10c. Worked fine for a few weeks, but now the phone can't detect any wifi networks. Rebooting fixes the problem, but only for a short while, after half an hour I'm disconnected and can't find my or any other wifi networks.

Strange WIFI Issue with my router

Hey folks,
I hope somebody can help me. I have a very strange issue with my Sony Xperia XZ2 compact and my Wifi. It won't connect under any circumstances. It says "Establishing connection" but nothing happens. It worked in the first place but since two weeks, it stopped working.
What I tried yet: -
resetted the phone to default and updated to newest android
- resetted the router to default
- changed the wifi channel and Name/Password
The strange thing is: The phone connects to every other wifi, except my home wifi. And every other phone does connect to my home wifi. It seems to be a issue between my home router and my phone. But I have no clue what else I should do.
This really sucks. I really need Wifi at home.
Thank you for your help!
well,i cant turn on the wifi option now
and it will reboot randomly as i try to turn on wifi
even i could turn on wifi still there is no signal and unable to connect to everything
BUT MY LTE WORKS VERY WELL
4G SIGNAL IS STRONG AS FXXK
Bump, seeing a similar issue with my mother's phone. Wifi works at phone for her, but not at work.
