[Q] LCD Resolution help - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hi, I installed the application "LCD Resolution" and it's working great, besides the TWLauncher. Is there a way to fix how it looks, or a way to get the one from the Galaxy Note which has a higher resolution display to fit the one I put on the application?

Pros/Cons with changing screen density?

What are the pros of doing this vs what are the cons? One con would be that some apps are incompatible with this.
If your blind you can benefit by making it bigger. If you can see really well you can set a lower value for the density which gives you more real estate on the screen.

If you run at 240 their aren't really any cons as it is still a native Android density. Other densities will give you market compatibility issues. Apps will work at other densities but won't download from the market.
There are modded markets that will make the market think you are running another density then you are so apps will download.
The Pro's are everything looks crisper and better at lower densities and you can get much more information on the screen.
I run my phone in Tablet mode at a 160 density and it looks great!
Just remember when making the density lower you can enlarge the text by going into the settings menu then display.
Stick with 240 and you'll be fine. I run 240 with small text and everything looks tack sharp.

Can't adjust resolution, please help

Hello everyone,
I am trying to use an app to adjust the resolution (or DPI) to simulate a 720p screen. However, my phone simply will not change its resolution no matter what I do. I have used the app "LCD Resolution" as well as another similar app. What I have done is to change the dpi setting in the app from 240 to 160. Then I click apply and it says I need to reboot. After reboot however, the setting has been reset to 240 again.
Can anyone tell me how to simulate a 720p screen on the Epic 4g Touch? I am using the CyanogenMod alpha 4 and I want to get as close to the experience of a Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S3 as possible.
Could someone please help me?
Thanks so much.
Try Rom Toolbox in the market, I believe that's what most people here are using. Should be under build.prop tweaks set it to 160 and reboot.

If you have the root explorer app you can go to the build.prop located in system yourself and change the lcd density value yourself (you have to scroll down a bit). Make sure you mount as Read/Write so you actually change it instead of just viewing it.
Also a side note, you're not changing the resolution, only the density of the pixels packed. The resolution can't be changed on this device, nor any of the current Android devices for that matter.
The only one that worked for me was lcd resolution (root), by wemobs labs. I tried a few others, but they didn't change anything.

[Q] Samsung TabPro 10.1 Resolutions & Laggs

Hey!
I received my tabpro and i notice so much lag in games like simpsons tapped out. My girlfriend has Tab 3 and it runns perfectly. Is it about the resolutions, since i have 2560x1600. Is there any way to lower my resolution or do I have to install custom ROM.
And why my homescreen resolution is not that 2560x1600. My image is 2560x1600 and it looks nice in gallery but after i use it as my wallpaper on homescreen it gets blurry.
I thought this tablet is powerfull in games and so on. But i am very disappointed. All help is needed so help me to to get clean rom or just help to lower my resolutions.
Any suggestions?
I'd like to know this aswell.

It should be possible to change the resolution of an app with "app settings", an XPosed Framework module. (root required)
When you set an image as your wallpaper it gets zoomed in (as it has to fit screen and scroll horizontal), therfore, the pixels of the image won't match pixels on the screen anymore and get re-calculated, making the picture blurry.

You found an application to change the resolution? Give us some more information to work with mate.

Display size and DPI

The attached image shows MobileSheetsPro running on my old Galaxy Note 10.1 (left) and on the S4 (right).
The note is 1280x800 and the S4 is 2560x1600.
I would expect the applications to look the same, but this is not the case. On the S4, the dialog is about 25% larger, the icons are larger, etc.
If you are familiar with MobileSheetsPro you can see that I needed to lower the font sizes used by the program (to about 80%) to get the same contents on the display. Other applications show similar differences.
DevCheck (see 2nd attachment) shows resolution 1280x800 and screen density 160dpi (mdpi), 1280dp x 800dp for the Note, and for the S4 resolution 2560x1600 and screen density 360dpi (xhdpi), 1138dp x 711dp. I find the red numbers puzzling.
Is this normal behaviour? Is MobileSheetsPro misbehaving? Is there some setting that can (needs) be adjusted?
'm confused about this as well. Just picked up a a new s4 for super cheap...and games are too zoomed. I used recheck and an online tool and they both show 1280 x 800. Tried changing min width in developer settings to no avail
My tablet is at home, and this isn't the behavior I remember, but i don't use Mobile Sheets, and it could be specific to software. Android does some weird treatments that are supposed to be based on resolution. The xhdpi is a clue to this. In your old tablet it was using the native resolution in determining what resources to use/scale. On the new one, it appears to behave as if it believes the dPI is higher than it really is and the resolution lower. Somebody who understands better how this works in Android will have to give a more complete answer.

Touch screen not working after Resolution change

Hello, I have a unit with 800x480 screen which I used to operate in a higher resolution set with Easy DPI. I was on Android 8 with the Hal9k mod. I upgraded to Android 9 (a stock HA rom) and rooted so Easy DPI can operate. Now I can change the resolution (1024x600 and 1280x720 both work) but the touch screen does not work after that (actually the bottom half is not working; I can only work on the upper half of the screen). Has anyone seen this before? Should I change anything else? I let the DPI to the default (240).
Thank you in advance,
A.
