[Q] How can I create shortcut to stock drawer using alternative launcher? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys, running stock ICS 4.0.2 on Vz Nexus. I'm using ADWLauncher EX but I prefer the stock ICS app drawer. Can anyone tell me how I can create a custom shortcut in ADW to launch the stock app drawer?
I tried Custom shortcut, Pick Your Activity, Activities, but from there I can't find the ICS app drawer.
Thanks!

I would like this feature too but suspect it is down to the developer of the launcher to add it to the options of app drawer preferences.

That would b good

Bump...still looking for an answer to this if anyone can shed some light. Thanks!

not possible. the stock app drawer is built into the app and theres no way to access it outside of the app.
additionally, as found by the developer of the Nova Launcher, unless the home app is a system app the widget menu won't work.
basically your just going to have to wait until Ander adds it into ADW or someone makes a new launcher from scratch based on the new launcher.

Use ADW EX and pick the "4D" drawer style in the settings or download the gingerbread launcher from the market. There's probably a way to do it in LP but I haven't used it so I don't know.
Thanks exactly what I was looking for. Thanks alot.
No problem, I like the "cube" app drawer too.
I have a stock GB launcher from the market by a dev Eugene## not sure what the numbers are but it runs very smooth and is stock.

Remove app drawer like MIUI, having apps on the main screen??

Is there any application or launcher (besides MIUI rom) that hides the app drawer? I came to love the way MIUI had no app drawer but there were certain issue with MIUI I had and have moved back towards sense.
So I'm looking to remove the app drawer completely any way possible, any ideas are appreciated!
Thanks!
Mr.Home(better adw ) in the market has this option. I don't no if it will work on the evo though. I have only tried it on Samsung Galaxy S products. Hope this can help ya out.

[Q] Change icons in stock launcher

Hi!
I wonder if it is possible to change the icons in the ICS stock launcher, and if it is, how to do it the easiest way?
i am not intressted in changing launcher..
Thank you in advance!
Pretty simple, just long press an icon in the launcher, it will vibrate and you can remove that icon. Then go into app drawer, and select the app you want in the launcher. Just hold that app and drag down into the launcher.

Correct. It's possible via a third party launcher however.
Download an app called "icon changer" from the Play Store. It will create a shortcut with a custom icon on your launcher

Launcher with drawer sorting (not apex)?

I was wondering what other launchers there were out there that can sort the app drawer by install date (descending, system apps first) other than apex. Ive used apex for a while now and switched the holo launcher HD because I noticed it was much smoother and snappier. The only thing I dislike about holo launcher is no option to sort app drawer (other than alpha asc). I've been searching around Google but I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I noticed trebuchet (packaged with cm10) will sort by install date descending but when I backed it up via tb and tried it on my ROM (aokp) it would only sort by install date ascending (putting system apps last). Anyone know why this is?
And are there any other launchers that are small, light, and fast like holo launcher that will sort drawer by install date descending?
Edit: I know this sounds picky but the aosp based ROMs are becoming extremely smooth and I'd like to actually have a launcher that takes advantage of it.
Nova might do what you want.

Nova doesn't have drawer sorting. Thanks for the reply though
It doesn't do sorting but it has a function to display new apps.
Click on the apps icon

Old, slower than APEX
there is no known launcher to this day exept from apex and go that can sort the app drawer by date. i'm guessing holo or nova might be the first ones apart from apex and go to introduce it. i would suggest checking out holo regularly because its great and it's fast as crap too

[Q] Note 2 TouchWiz 5x5 format

I'm a new XDA user and new to rooting so please bear with me. I am simply looking for a TouchWiz launcher mod (I think mod) that allows me to use a 5x5 app format. I have the SGH-I317 with build: JZO54K.I317UCAMH3. Can anyone help me out?
You just need a different launcher...
Give Nova launcher a try from the play store..
No root required ...and it gives you the options to grid up to 6x6 I believe ...
Otherwise ...to get TW launchers with grid changes you would need root and a custom rom most likely ...g

I haven't had the best experience with launchers from the play store. Had a go launcher before and it was just too much. I went with the root because I figured I could just mod the touch wiz or flash a better touch wiz Rom.

Never mind. I gave up looking for a mod and downloaded the Nova Launcher. VERY easy to use, customizable the way I like and very smooth.
Now the only question I have about having multiple launchers is... How do I prevent them both from running at the same time? I already set the default that when I press the home button, it goes to the Nova Launcher. And then in Nova Launcher settings "swiped away" the touchwiz launcher. But is it still running in the background? Do I even still need it? If I don't, how do I remove it? And no worries, I have a backup from before I installed Nova.

Once you swipe away the tw launcher you have set nova as default. Only the default launcher will run. I would not remove the old tw launcher as it can be a backup in case nova acts up. In other words, its good to have multiple launchers installed. Only one launcher is active at a time.
