There are many topics in this forum about screenprotectors and shield. That's why I decided to make one topic on this subject based on my experience. I've used protectors for the Xperia X1 and the HTC Desire, i've used the following:
Screenprotectors
Brando UltraClear My experience with the Brando's are very good. They are easy to install as they don't use glue, but some kind of static energy, I don't know what it is exactly. Due this, they can be reapplied by peeling them off and reapply them. And you can even clean them with water. This is also a disadvantage, as the protector can move a little around the screen and can be lifted up by sharp objects.
Color distortion due the brando is negligible and in my opinion the brando's have a nice feel to them, which is of course quit important for a screenprotector.
Ebay I've had some experience with these protectors, and while they are cheap, I'm not a big fan of them. They feel cheap and there is too much resistance while touching the screen. I also have my doubts about the protection, especially with sharp objects penetrating the protector, but I have no experience with that. Color distortion depends on how you apply the protector, I have seen some people with some vague lines on the screen due these protectors.
Martin Fields These appear to be the best protectors but I have no experience with them. Please post your experience so this can be a nice overview topic
Shields
StealthGuards This is the shield/screenprotector i use at the moment. The problem with shields is that over time, the small parts (in my case the side of the phone) tends to get loose. That happened to my Zagg shield which I originally bought for my Desire. Since I didn't want to spend $25,- again I browsed around the internet and found this alternative. They are incredibly cheap (Free + shipping, so around $2,-) and hard to beat at that price. The feel of the screenprotector isn't as nice as from the brando. But it's better then the Zagg and good enough for all day use.
The protection you get is very good, every part of the phone is protected by some plastic looking and feeling material. The StealthGuards offers the same protection as the Zagg, and scratches automagically restore as long as they aren't too deep. So you have a lot of extra protection without the bulk and at a low price. Disadvantage could be that your phone gets more glossy. For a matte phone like the desire this isn't something i'm happy about, but you can order matte shields for a small price (which I didn't btw, so I'm not sure how that will look). Also you can't reapply them as they use some kind of glue. Personally I didn't have any problems peeling them off (no glue left on the phone, or easily removable).
ZaggIs more or less the same as the StealthGuard, but more expansive. You do get 2 year warrenty and free replacement for that price, and I guess it's more scratch resistant but with normal use the SG is sufficient for me. I've scratched both with my keys and didn't see much difference. They have more resistance then the SG and I wasn't a big fan of using the Zagg as screenprotector so i ordered a Brando. Installation is better then SG, as SG doesn't even provide instructions or the installation fluid (but you don't need it really, I just pushed it on the phone and it sticked).
BSE is mentioned in this post and is also a cheaper alternative to Zagg.

Conclusion
On a low budget I recommend the StealthGuards, as they are dirty cheap, offer way better protection then the cheap ebay protections and feel better. If you have some more money to spend I would go for a SG + Brando UltraClear combination. This is primarily for the feel on the touchscreen, which I like a lot on the brando. Maybe the MF is better, but I can't recommend it as I personally never used one.
If you have a lot the spend you could look into the Zagg, but you will definitely want another screenprotector alongside the Zagg, which makes it even more pricy. I guess it's protection is better then the SG, but I doubt you'll need it.
This is all based on my personal experience I had with these products, yours can be entirely different and if so, please post it below. I will update this post if users provide useful descriptions on there phone protections.

I only have experience with the Zagg Invisible Shield. I tried it on my old hero, and while it's a solid product I just couldn' get used to the way it felt uner my fingertips. I ended up removing it after only 4 days of use. That being said, when I recently retired the old Hero it didn't have a single mark on the screen. So, for me the screen protector from Zagg didn't do anything except lower the usability of my phone.

I don't like pouches, they add weight and slow the process of quickly checking my phone This one looks nice though
I've been using Martin Fields protectors for a few years now. Better quality than most and cut very well so that they cover the entire screen. Easy to apply without bubbles forming and can be removed without leaving residue on the screen.
One thing that i have noticed is a discoloration/wearing on the shield in the most frequently used areas of the screen. It's only noticeable when the screen is off though.
These are very costly compared to most but offer a good level of protection and last for ages.

I heard the same story, since my protector is slightly damaged after 3/4 year of heavy use i'm thinking of buying one and check them out. How does the martin field feel compared to the original screen?

I actually found the naked N1 screen a bit hard to get along with. My finger wouldn't swipe across smoothly and felt 'sticky'. The MF protector was actually an improvement although it takes a days use to wear in properly. I've had the same protector on for a year now and it's still going strong
i use a zagg and love it! goes on great but does feel funny something you just have to get use to the only bad thing i noticed is when i tried to put the one from my white streak on my black streak the screen was totally unresponsive so i had to get a new one bestbuy replaced it so no big deal couple of my friends had the same problem so i guess you can't use it more than once. it will mark up i dropped my streak and tried to stop it with my shoe and ended up kicking it across the room and it put 2 small marks on the zagg but other than that its great and i do recommend it. a little pricey though!

+1 for BSE, I've used them on almost every phone since my BlackBerry days. I've tried others and keep going back.
The ShieldGuards are really good they might be better than zagg I recommend this
Invisible Shield from Zagg is always a good choich but a little bit pricey. They just recently released the universal screen pack to Radioshack so they should be available to you locally. Which is always ideal for me.
They price at 14.99 for three.
I have never tried bestskinsever, but I used Zagg a couple of times when it was still called Invisible Shield.
Is bestskinsever the same sort of product? That is, is it sticky to touch, or does the finger slide like it does on the screen?
Also, does the screen protector part have the orange peel effect, or is it mirror-like, like a normal screen protector?
The Zagg style protectors are fantastic for the body of electronics items, but imho very bad news for screens, especially touch screens.

Im thinking about getting a zagg. they just gave me a simple screen protector from verizon when i picked up my thunderbolt. definitely not going to cut it.

Those are new to me. How do they feel and react to scratches?
bought my hd 2 with a screenprotector today and the protector is shining under the sun. can't see a thing.
It seems the StealthGuard is no longer free, however, for $10,- you get 2 protectors, so it's still very competitive when compared to the others.
Edit: There seems to be a workaround and still get the protectors for free if you sign up to become a devaffiliate. I haven't tried this myself (mine is still on), but it's worth a shot. (here or here)

The materials are the same- imported high quality optical PET. These are just customized to fit the SGSII (i9100 version for now, we will be getting US carrier variants later on). This is a dry application screen protector.
This time we would like to see more comprehensive reviews. Something like this with pictures:

Anyway, here's what I think of this protector:
Installation:
Handy set of instructions. Protector went on without any problems. I used a credit card as suggested to get rid of the air bubbles, which worked out very very well. This installation method is much much easier (and safer?) than Zagg, and similar to other adhesive-type protectors.
Fit:
The protector is cut slightly smaller than the size of the glass. My alignment was spot on, so I don't have any air bubbles around the edges, but there is probably a 1mm (or less) gap around the outside of the protector, which in my opinion is the perfect fit. The cutout for the front camera also is perfect.
Feel:
The protector offers minor friction for fingers. Initially my hands were very clean from the application process, and therefore were not leaving any finger prints. I have since used the TF for a few days, and even let a baby with greasy hands play with it, and the fingerprints/smudges were a minimum. In summary: the protector feels VERY GOOD and appears to cut down fingerprints like crazy. For me, this protector is better than just the glass, and much much better than the protector I had before (I had some 3 for $10 ebay style protector.. it was garbage). This protector is on par with Zagg protectors and their lack of fingerprints (for those who have used them).
Look:
Its hard to tell that there's even a protector on except for a few pieces of dust. Glare is reduced, colors don't seem to be affected. The protector I had before this one was much worse for letting the true colors through. Everything was faded and coarsened (dunno how to best describe that, but it looked bad). All in all, this one looks as good as no protector, with added benefit of reduced glare and minimal fingerprints.
Overall:
Most of my protector experience is with Zagg protectors; on a Nook Color, galaxy s and iPhone. I didn't want to have to fight with putting a Zagg on for a screen the size of the TF, so I have been looking for alternatives. If this protector is competitively priced then imo its one of the better ones for the TF. I once tried a skinomi for a G-tablet, and that thing was a complete waste of money.
Pending price, would get another one of these.

I´m using an Ultra Crystal Clear atm so I would be able to compare them.
I just got the ProFilm for the SGS2 and put it on. Previously I was using Power Support's Anti-Glare, and I've also used SGP's Ultra Crystal before that (& a bunch of no name SPs in between). Since I've literally *just* put this on, I'll just give my initial impressions. I didn't take many photos beyond the initial opening of the package but I'll definitely do so in my follow-up.
Packaging: It came in an envelope via USPS First Class International. Inside was just a set of handy instructions and the screen protector itself, a no fuss affair. If/when this is on the market, I'd recommend bundling it with the standard microfiber cloth but since this is for testing & reviews, I'm not complaining.

Screen Protector: It came with 2 pieces of backing plastic, but there was no confusion whatsoever about which to take off first as they were labelled numerically and the instructions on the piece of paper was clear.
The screen protector is pretty thin but not to the point of being flimsy, though it's definitely thinner than the SGP Ultra Crystal and Power Support Anti-Glare, so I would assume it's a little lacking in terms of hardness. It's well-cut, with holes of the right size and at the right position for the speaker grill, front camera (U-shaped cut, not a circular cut) and home button. There's very little space between the edge of the screen protector and the chrome rim of the phone, perhaps 1mm or less. Very good fit. It's of a matte finish, designed to reduce glare under bright lights or the Sun. It's night time right now so I'll add on to this review after a few days re: glare and such.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it's standard or perhaps just the one that I got but I noticed micro-scratches on the screen protector after I'd applied it and I've only touched it with scotch tape and a microfiber cloth. You can't see it when the screen is on but if you scrutinise it from certain angles when the screen is off, you can definitely see it.
Application: Okay I'm not inexperienced with applying Screen Protectors (I've applied numerous times on my phone, my brother's HTC Sensation, my dad's Galaxy S Wifi 5.0 or the Galaxy Player as it's known in the USA, and so on) but this was by far the hardest I've yet to apply. This is in part due to the perfect cut of the screen protector; it took me a long time to align the SP well enough for the anal, OCD part of me to stop screaming in my head. While I am a fan of the fit, it does take quite a bit of effort to align it (or it could just be me).
Plastic backings come off easily, no fuss there. Bubbles are rubbed away easily as well, and any artifacts you may find trapped under the SP during application is easily removed with some tape. I didn't use a credit card or squeegee, just pushed it down onto the screen and it flowed on and stayed there easily. Very easy to apply (once you align it).
Usage: First thing I noticed after I turned the screen on was that this screen protector gave me more light and clarity than the Power Support Anti-glare I was using; it was obvious to me 'cause my eyes hurt from the sudden increase in brightness (no settings were tweaked, phone's always on lowest brightness). I would say that in terms of light passing through and clarity, it's almost as good as SGP's Ultra Crystal, which is a clear protector, not matte.
Touch-wise, though, I could feel a fair bit more friction compared to Power Support's AG; it definitely lacks the powdery smooth feeling I had there. I haven't played any games yet so I'll update again with more details. Just feels a bit squeaky right now.
Initial conclusion: The ProFilm seems to be trying to combine the best of both worlds in bringing the clarity of clear protectors to matte ones. (Sidenote: I'd love to have someone familiar with the 3M Estoc+ review this as well and compare them as this balance brings to mind the lauded Estoc+.) It's too early for me to judge yet, so I'll withhold doing so until I've had more time with this. But from my impressions, it seems promising!

I have the Estoc. Problem is, even after more then a month, it's still not "ruined" yet. Not as clear as the day I first applied it (now with some microscratches) but nothing severe enough that I'd wanna take it off.
So, I can't risk taking it off to test this lol (I might ruin it, and the Estocs ain't exactly cheap).
But if the TS has a Profilm cut for the iPhone 4 (or the BB Torch, which has crap protector choices really), I'll be glad to try and compare.

All the units I've sent out are samples. We will be including the microfiber cloth in the retail package for sure. A thin but sturdy cardboard piece will be used to prevent package from being bent. Screen protector will be wrapped in a clear biodegradable plastic bag. All texts will be printed with soy ink.

Make sure to peel off both sheets labeled 1 and 2. The actual protector is wrapped between them. Unless it's a manufacture defect (unlikely as I manually inspected them before mailing), the screen protector should provide ample protection against pretty much everything. I redid the stress test with different sharp objects, really scratched and drilled hard with scissors. This series is finished in matte but preserves the transmittance and clarity of a "clear" type. I believe this is the best type of film for screens. Personally, clear types were too bright with factory settings and PROFILM's matte finish tones it down a little bit. Here are the specs, a few % deviation for different products:
Haze: 6±2%
Luminosity/Transparency: 94±3%
Material: High Quality PET
Thickness (µm): 50µm/100µm

One or two guys on here have mentioned it already, but if any of you are wondering about which one to get, i cannot comment on any of the others, but reallook is pretty decent.
I can't apply screen protectors to save my life, but I went to a wireless store, and had one of the guys do it for me. And it came out pretty good.
It's well made enough to where you can't even tell you have a screen protector on it. But it is a fingerprint magnet.
But still really well made, and possibly the best screen protector for the note?
And a good bonus is that they give you 2 screen protectors, and even screen protectors for the camera lens (4 total!!)
Hope this helps some people that are looking for a screen protector.
Also, the protectors are absolutely clear imo, so if you're looking for some sort of shaded protectors, this is not it.
And you MUST figure out which is the sticky side, (it's actually the second tab which is sticky, which really threw me off)
Got this one too, basically because 2 cost less than one Steinheil and people reported it not to have the rainbow effect (RGB glittering from adhesive like e.g. the Zagg ones).

It's extremely precisely cut.
It sticks rock solid.
It's comparatively inexpensive.

It's the worst fingerprint magnet ever.
Cleaning away fingerprints is a pain, this must be some special oleophilic coating.
Fitting it on took forever, easily 10 trials, 1 hour and I still could not get it to stay 100% flat. Right now there's a small area (2x2mm) next to the home button that's not sticking. I left it like that because the other 9 times it'd be flying on any one corner no matter what.
Tiny and not so tiny scratches after only 2 weeks AND the Samsung Flip Cover...
I would not recommend this. Installing it is a real pain and seeing how maintenance (cleaning) time drastically increases while durability is to be questioned (scratches), it seems like a waste of time and money.
I installed my real look perfect the first time... I do own a wireless shop though and do it all the time. My point is that the difficult install is not relevant to the quality of the product, it has to do with experience. If you messed up this one you will probably would have messed up any other brand as well. IV used real look for a while and yes its a fingerprint magnet (like most other "crystal" protectors), and yes it scratches (that is the point to scratch these and not the beloved phone) but I believe it to be as high a quality product as any you would pay 2 or 3X the price for... that's why I use it!

The other protectors ranged from dirt cheap (read: free with other accessory) to quite expensive (Invisible Shield). None were this tricky to attach and besides this one there was only the PSP with it's notorious raised edge one one side of the screen where I/the foil failed to achieve a perfect on-surface attachment.
As for the scratches, of course what you say is the point. But a decent quality foil should certainly not get scratches this fast with additional protection (flip cover) over it. For comparison, my PSP's $3 foil served some 2 years of almost daily carrying the device in messenger bags with no additional protection and to this day has barely any scratches.
One thing I forgot to mention is the costumer service at Reallook is incredibly good. Any questions or complaints I had, the guys there tried there hardest to kiss my ass.
It is a shame though that the protector is SUCH a finger print magnet. But some other guy on here said that these protectors are thicker than the SGP. If this is true, then maybe Realook is worth it just by the fact that it offers superior protection. I bought a nice screen protector to protect my $700 phone, it better damn well do it.
The biggest advantage to buying realook is the back camera screen protector that comes with it.
And again, read the instructions if you do get this one. Tab 1 is supposed to be pealed off first, but it's actually the non-sticky side.
If anyone finds a better protector that offers more protection, please post it on here so I can try it out.

In no way am I trying to argue but just want to point out that invisible shield and the cheap junk that come with cases are totally different therefore comparing apple to oranges. I can assure you that there is zero difference between installing a real look and an sgp, etc. These are equally as difficult as the ultimate ____ crystal whatever that people pay $40 for and absolutely no difference. Of course there are some with oil coatings that would keep the fingerprints away but yet again, apples to oranges. My one and only point is that the real look clear and the sgp ultimate crystal, and any other multi-layered hard screen protector are all equally difficult to align and install perfectly... it simply is a tough job to get it perfect in one (or four) tries. That being said, I WILL NEVER PUT THAT DISTORTING ZAGG JUNK ON MY DEVICE AGAIN! I'd buy 10 of these before having orange Peel effect... my eyes have been opened! Lol!

Amen! Had that on my OG Droid ... for maybe a week. Ugh, what an overhyped, overpriced, gross, look AND feel destroying pos that was.

I got the realook on my note and agree with the op. I used it in conjunction with a tpu case for decent protection. Can't really see much scratches after a few weeks and definitely prefer it to zagg shields I used in the past.

Just got my GS3 a week ago and I love everything about it so far. However, I'm starting to think I'll need a screen protector for it. Just for convenience I searched on Amazon and came across Tech Armor's screen protector. It has good reviews but other than the reviews on Amazon haven't been able to find more information about it.
Has anyone tried this sp out yet to get some insight from? Doing research on others but interested in learning more about Tech Armor products.
I literally just applied one. It went on fine. Just FYI - it does not cover the entire screen. It's edges are trimmed to the home button and top cameras and span a millimeter or so past the screen to either side. I'd definitely use it again especially as the 3-pack is under $10 shipped.
i was looking at those too... i was initially impressed with the reviews but then realized this was the only product those people ever reviewed.
Maybe i'm just jaded but 6 5 star reviews by people who've never reviewed anything else seems a little fishy to me.
Great to hear! Have you heard of the SGP curved crystal that's going to be coming out soon? Wondering if I should wait for that or try this one out.

I ended up ordering both the anti-glare and the clear, but i don't have the sgs3 yet. Has anyone else tried the techarmor? I might just return them if I did get screwed by the 10 amazon reviews....
I have the HD clear one from tech amor and it works great....doesnt affect screen quality at all and easy to apply, comes with three screens and a lifetife warranty so you cant go wrong!

Ok, well I guess I'm only out the $14 if they are terrible. I will post my discoveries once I get my SGS3.

I purchased the Tech Armor anti-glare and anti-fingerprint screen protector from Amazon for ~$10. It was really easy to apply and it does the job. My only gripe is that it degrades the screen quality by a little, but it was worth the $10.
I have this and it's a good screen protector. You get three which is good but some of my corners are starting to peel a little.

are you using the clear or the anti-glare?
What's the point of screen protectors with Gorilla Glass? I mean the screen won't scratch, it will shatter, which a protector won't stop. So, what's the point?

It's still glass and it still is most certainly prone to scratches, scuffs, nicks, dings, and dents. Honestly, I can sleep more sound at night knowing I have just one more layer of protection on my $600+ device.
For the record, my girlfriend purchased these screen protectors for her S3 and she is extremely disappointed with how much the protector cuts down on vibrant colors and light from the screen.
I bought these anti-glare/anti-finger print ones that come in a 3 pack for about $10. I think they are ok as far as fit and stickability goes, but imo they make the beautiful screen turn into a fuzzy rainbow blurry piece of crap. I am returning mine and buying something else. I've only seen one other phone that had a screen protector looking this bad.

I have the clear. It's good. Like other clear screen protectors oil, smudges, and fingerprints will show up.
FYI, for anyone interested, I wrote this review on Amazon. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I felt I had to because of how it makes the screen look.

I think all anti-fingerprint screen protectors reduce the display quality. I believe the matte finish that reduces fingerprints is slightly raised throughout and the lack of a smooth finish is what reduces the fingerprints but at the same time reduces the screen quality. I used Steinheil anti-fingerprint screen protectors on my Captivate and I was more than willing to compromise the screen quality for the lack of fingerprints. I couldn't find them for my S3 so I ordered the Tech Armor ones which will arrive this coming week. I don't watch videos/play games so I'm no doubt not as critical of the screen quality as someone that does.
Unless you're one to constantly clean your screen IMO the fingerprints reduce the screen quality way more than the anti-fingerprint protectors. My Captivate rarely needed the screen cleaned (virtually zero fingerprints) and I'm hoping the same is true for the Tech Armor protectors. When I'm in the field using an Excel spreadsheet with a client I don't want to have to constantly clean the screen so they can clearly see it. I'll settle for little/no fingerprints and the ability to see the screen albeit at a reduced quality every time.
Based on this review. I grabbed one ff these kits from amazon and installed today. Very pleased with the product and installation was a breeze.
Wouldn't know about those. Had one of those cheapo 3x for $1 off ebay and have nothing really bad to say about them. Also got them replaced later by the one that came with my UAG urban armor case and i find it slightly better, specially when applying. Just not sure if it's worth the difference.
Anyway, it's good to see that tech armor has great customer support that will even bother to reply here in xda. That's something most companies overlook and i'll easily pay extra for.
I've made a review on the iPhone 5 Tech Armor HD screen protector and I wanted to share my experience here. I've only used ZAGG and Ghost Armor before I've tried this and I must say that I prefer Tech Armor much more over those 2 brands. The feel of the screen protector is much better and when I give my phone to other people to use, they don't even notice the screen protector is there. So the quality of the screen protector is there.
On top of that, I noticed some imperfections on the screen protector, it seemed that there were some small scratches on the protector itself and it started to peel a little. I informed Tech Armor of my problem and they sent me 3 more for free. So customer service is also there when it comes to Tech Armor.
I've never purchased Clarivue or SGP before so I can't comment on the clarity/feel versus those two brands, but if anyone has input on that, I'd be interested to hear what it is. I found this thread by searching Tech Armor and there doesn't seem to be many forum posts on this company and I'm currently in the market to see what screen is the best for my Nexus 4 (I know this is the S3 thread).

Got my hands on the SGP Ultra Nano Optics screenshield that a lot of you have been asking about. This is an anti-fingerprint & anti-glare screenshield that features a similar form factor to the Nano Clear, but with a different coating. Like the Nano Clear, it is super easy to install but the anti-fingerprint coating serves to make fingerprints and smudges much harder to show.
In this video I've also compared the Flex HD, Ultra Clear and Ultra Optics in a detailed manner based on pricing, protection, clarity, etc - that way you guys can see which one fits you best.

That is a decent screen protector, but I consider all hard protectors to be relatively short term. They scratch, and eventually peel if you aren't very careful (If you have to be very careful, what's the point).
I've generally liked soft screen protectors, and have used Zagg (awful, should be out of business), and PhantomSkinz (terrific, cheap).
I used the SGP Flex, based on many good reviews. Despite the higher price, I consider this to be an awful product. The coverage was terrific, probably the best (careful, this combined with the thinness makes for a very difficult install). However it had more orange peel than PhantomSkinz, more importantly, both included protectors had significant defects rendering them unusable (I could see them before even peeling them off their backing). Just my two cents.
I did actually try a relatively unknown brand (to me atleast) called "clear-coat". The coverage isn't as good, but installing is much easier. There is almost no orange peel, was easy to install, and practically invisible. However, the first batch I received was also defective, with blemishes in the middle of the screen. The product was so impressive to me though otherwise, that I fully plan on using this product if they can send me ones that aren't f'd up.

I actually used an Ultra Optics on my Nexus S for nearly 6 months without any issues. I eventually removed it when I bought my S2 to store it.
On my Flex HD review I state that the Galaxy Nexus model was installed since December on my device and it was only towards May that I noticed dust building up on the edges.
I've used Clear-Coat in the past (and on my current Lumia 710) and love that they are super clear, but unfortunately they are so thin they don't provide much drop protection compared to the Flex HD.
Obviously different tastes for different people, just wanted to share my experiences.
