obviously there isn't much done with this. But as far as looking ahead how do you plan to incorporate a home button into this?

Maybe using Button Saviour or something...

ya, if you want help designing something custom let me know when the time comes. I'd love to take part in helping with this

u two should look at the nook miui port. an ics style status bar on the bottom would be tits tho lol

XperiaPlayer, can you please post in OP for people not to post stuff like this? It takes up space and is obviously not needed. A simple "like" will show your appreciation

You're not going to stop people from posting their excitement with a line in the OP. You can bold it, you can threaten to take the ROM down, it won't stop people.
Just let it go, it's part of being on a forum. Don't try to be a crusader.

Well last night I finally made it somewhere on this port!. Xperia Play I think it might be time to open up a thread at miui.us.

HEH! You beat me to it
AT least you got it too boot. Im guessing wifi probs wont work yet and the orientation proabbly wont.
Did you use nook as a base?

Excuse me for my ignorance, I don't really have much knowledge in cooking/building roms, but isn't MIUI based off of CM7? If so, can't you use the CM7 Fire builds and then port over MIUI elements from the Nook Color?

Nope, quite the opposite. Porting the actual miui rom in it's entirety to the Fire.

that sounds more like it.

Is this MIUI going to be based off of ICS or gingerbread? I'm running ICS on mine right now and it's pretty sweet. They're still working on getting the audio/video perfect, but it doesn't seem like it's too far off of being a stable ROM.

Cannot Flash to stock rooted rom

I want to unlock my phone to be able to use it with gsm providers. I read somewhere that the only way i can enter my unlock code is with a stock rom.
I am having issues flashing Andybones stock rom. Whenever i flash it, it gets stuck on the droid eye screen (I left it for 20 minutes and nothing). I can flash ics beta 3 and it works perfectly
I wipe/factory reset and wipe cache in CWR in-between every rom flash
Anybody know what the issue could be ? or does anybody know another rom i could unlock the phone with

I would try downloading it again. You might have a corrupt install file.

I tried that but i still couldnt fix it. I also tried flashing skyraider's rom and i also get stuck.
I did a logcat for the first time, so please bare with me if i did it incorrectly. I couldnt post the whole log because of character limits and couldnt post external link because im under 8 post. If anyone can check up on it, it would be greatly appreciated

Which recovery version are you using?
If you're using 4ext, use the format all (except SD) option under the wipe menu, then flash.
If you're using CWM, format all the partitions under the mounts and storage menu (except SD) manually, then flash.
Thank you, i will try that and ill tell you how it goes. Today i have tried to flash a few roms but none of them worked. They all get stuck on the logo after the htc one. The only rom that boots for me is ics beta 3
How long are you waiting for the boot screen to go away? Some ROMs take a few minutes sometimes longer to boot the first time, especially sense roms. You might not be waiting long enough.
Did you wipe your system partition? When flashing a new Sense ROM, I always do. Also, I do the same thing going from AOSP to SENSE. 4ext recovery makes it easy via the format all partitions except sdcard and then i wipe data/reset.
Yes i did wipe try to wipe the system partition but still nothing. How long do you guys wait after flashing a sense rom ?
Problem fixed !! It was my fault. My cousin had done a htc unlock instead of with revolutionary so now i have to flash the boot.img everytime i flash. It still had the old boot.img flashed from ics 3 beta.
I thought that with Fastboot boot recovery.img , i didn't need to reflash the boot.img but it still had to be done. No wonder only ICS beta 3 worked and the others didn't

[Q] 2am bugs on new OTA (Touch of Blue ROM)

My Dinc currently has cmlusco's excellent Touch of Blue v2.2 installed(a full wipe install with v6), which includes the latest OTA. I also have the latest radio (2.15.10.12.20) which cmlusco pulled from the OTA installed.
Since the latest OTA files were installed I have seen a lot of people complaining about 2am reboots. I happen to work 3rd shift, so I am awake during this time and instead of the reboots(as I am usually using my phone at this time) I begin to have mounting errors. This never happened before the new OTA files and only occurs between the times of 2am-5am.
Basically, the second it hits 2am if the screen goes to sleep(either by time or by pressing the power button) after 2-3 seconds both the sd card and emmc unmount themselves. As soon as you wake the phone up the "Preparing phone storage" message is displayed and everything is remounted. I noticed this because I listen to music from my sd card through amazon mp3, and when the screen goes dark the music stops.
I began pulling logs with alogcat and this is an example of what I see happening:

I don't see anything obvious enough to make me understand what is going on, but I can definitely see that as soon as the screen goes off the phone checks the time and starts doing something with the mounts, and as soon as the command to turn back on again comes the phone begins working on remounting everything.
On another site someone mentioned HTC stating that the reboots were for memory optimization and should only happen once. I'm sure there is some sort of commonality between the reboots and my errors but it has me puzzled. Does anyone more experienced than me see anything in the logs that could lead to a fix, as I don't plan on changing my work schedule anytime soon.
Thanks for any assistance.

Those logs are interesting as with this newest update a file in /system/bin called erase_dirty_fat. From looking at this file it seems it scans emmc and the sdcard for bad sectors and errors. The mounting problems may be intentional by htc, as the script unmounts and mounts the emnc and sdcard. This could some how cause reboots i suppose just not sure how yet. I need to examine the file more to se exactly what it does.

I'm running the odex version and except for the one time after first flashing it I haven't had another 2 am reboot since and never a problem mounting storage,
Bit of an update...after scouring the net i tried the manual setting the clock to 2am idea while I wasn't using the phone and let it sit for over 8 hours. I don't think I got any reboots but last night at the real 2am I didn't get any unmounts. So it has to be some sort of optimization script or something that can only run when you aren't using the phone. Hope tonight is the same result.

For those of you getting the 2am reboots try this as a fix. Go to /system/bin and look for a file called " erase_dirty_fat ". Rename or move the file and reboot the phone. See if you still get the 2am reboots.

Be interesting to know if this fixes the problem also, may try this Rom if it does.
Spoke too quickly I guess because the problem returned tonight after 5 days in the clear. Will try to erase that file now and see if it works.

Its so weird i feel lucky, but also left out lol. I havent had it happen to me at all.
Same here in a way since I don't have the reboots. I've tried deleting that file to no avail, also tried leaving the phone alone for 2 8 hour blocks to try and let it finish but that doesn't seem to help either.
Wouldn't be a problem if I didn't work mids and listen to podcasts, the perfect storm. Good job htc screwing up a phone 2 years after release.

Same with me, problem returned after a week of not having it. Deleting the mentioned system/bin file had no effect on mine, reboot problem still there.

Well my next guess would be its one of the new apps mabey. The pic below shows the new apks added in the update. Try renaming them one at a time and see if the reboots stop.

I would start with linkify dispatcher. Make sure you have a backup incase it messes something up.
Linkify didn't work for me, going to try the one that starts with q next since it has sd in the name.

Renaming qx didn't work either. So weird.

There were many other files updated and patched that could be the cause. Mabey its a common app like gmail or something, as i dont use the gmail app and i dont get the 2am bug. Hard to tell, im going to install gmail app and see if i get the reboots. I just keep thinking it has to be an app commonly used, but that i dont have installed. If it were in the framework i should be experiencing it too.
Hmmmm... Mine keeps asking me to update but I'm not doing it.

Yes, all versions of the Gingertiny kernel are compatible with all versions of TOB. What issues were you having?

Bug: Google Voice Search is not working.
I see, but mic in voice notes works. I added this to bug list. Thenks.
Apart from the keyboard lights that dont work and the landscape lock when keyboard is open. This rom is pretty smooth and awesome holding on to this for a while!

yozgatg has got voice search working with virtuous kernel, ask him how he fixed it. and regrading the rotation fix,
Rotation fix works maybe if the akmd file gets the correct permission.
set_perm(0, 2000, 0755, "/system/bin/akmd");
this would be needed to add in the updater-script
if this doesn't works, swap akmd from a sense 3.5 working rom.
If that doesn't works, try this :
in framework-res/res/values/bools.xml:
<bool name="config_forceDisableHardwareKeyboard">true</bool>
change this value from true to false.
Hope this would solve the issue.
Try and report as I'm out and can't try right now.
Rotation fix requires modding the android.policy.jar file (there are many tutorials in the forum). For voice search, copy the AdieHWCodec.csv file from my rom to /system/etc

Compile CM 10.1 kernel, but baseband unknown.how to fix?

I compile a kernel from the CM 10.1 source for my N7108, but baseband unknown.and kernel version unavailable
Who can help me to solve this problem?please.

1: be sure to had back-upped your EFS files
And i had this problem, and after days of ignorance of the community and self-research i decided to download the proprietary files from https://github.com/TheMuppets/ instead of extracting them myself and that did the trick.
thanks for your reply
how to back-upped EFS files ?
I tested many times, that this issue should be related with the kernel, rather than rom

EFS should be independent of it.
When I was in exchange for the official kernel and rom. All normal.

[DEV] CyanogenMod 12

Hi
Don't expect much, this is the first time I'm doing android porting
I'm trying to get Lollipop working on primou and I need some help by people with more experience.
Github: https://github.com/AndroidPrimou
Builds: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jghm6m8imi0hzzf/AAB7suJFmzTAtX-1QaeJ4KHQa?dl=0
THIS IS A DEVELEOPENT THREAD, THE BUILDS ARE ONLY FOR DEVS!
Current status:
Booting, ram fills up and system crashs.
Last updated: 22-03-2015
That is really good news!!! it would be nice to have Lollipop on HTC ONE V!!! i dont want even code so i cant help you with coding but i can help with noob testing! ))
its too much work bro, leave it
I'll just try it cause I wanna know more about android, there are much cm12 7x30 drivers out there
What about primoc
I need someone who knows about the internals of the graphics system, because I need to apply all the display changes in lollipop to the display driver.
Maybe this is a good place to start, but I don't have time to read this and I have no C/C++ skills at all.

if everyone said this the Motorola defy wouldn't have 5.0.
Will it be for primoc? Can you make it work on both
Sorry, this will be for primou only (if it will work someday)
Hello,
Compeltely new user here, I've never done anything with Android ROM dev but I know C++ and I want to help to make this possible !
If you mind sharing what you did
Great Going.....
Keep doing your work and upload as soon as you get a build that boots.
Will definitely test it and send you the logcats.(if you need them)
Try to make sure that you get a working camera app unlike the Jb and KitKat PrimoU Roms
And Yes Many people out there still use HOV (PrimoU) as their primary device

Every dev is welcome in #hov on freenode. We need people who have some experience with the display-hal.
