HD Wallpapers -Scrolling and Non-Scrolling - LG Nitro HD

So ever since I got this phone, I've come to a bitter realization that almost all of my favorite wallpapers can longer be used on this phone due to their smaller size. I will get black borders since the pics can't fit perfectly to the screen.
And with that I've decided to create a thread for us all to use to share pictures or wallpapers that will fit nicely on our gorgeous screen.
As you can see in the title, there will be 2 types of pic/wallpapers that you guys can post here. The first will be just a standard 720x1280 resolution wallpaper that will not generally be used for with the scrolling wallpaper effect. If you wish to use these with the scrolling effect, the wallpapers will end up stretched or blown up to fit the full resolution.
The other will of course be wallpapers used with the scrolling effect enabled. The resolution for this will be 1440x1280(thx to itiskonrad for the dimensions). Using these huge wallpapers for non scrolling will obviously lead you to cropping the image.
So when posting your wallpapers here, please indicate whether they are for scrolling or non-scrolling, simply by saying so, and if possible to include the dimensions as well. Let's try and stick to the default resolutions, but if the wallpapers are too good to be excluded, then go ahead and post, but again, please include the dimensions in your descriptions to make life easier for others.
And with that, thank you in advance to all of you who will be contributing
NOTE!! Please note that attaching your wallpapers here using XDA's file attachment system will cause them to be shrunken down to a very small file size, which might result in loss of quality. So if possible please upload them elsewhere and post the image using the img tag.

itiskonrad, if u see this, would you mind uploading those stock wallpapers u extract from lg home please? I'd like to use them with WP clock. thx in advance.

Sure! Attached is a zip including the following original wallpapers:

LG stock wallpapers

Nice Thank you!
I can't seem to find much 720x1280 images, so I might end up having to manually crop images n upload them here

Thanks a lot!!!!!!!

Finally had some time to look around for wallpapers. Found several of them, hopefully you will like them. These are all scrollable wallpapers of varying sizes, some are 1600x1280, a couple are 1440x1280. However, mostly, they are 2560x1600 or bigger! Please resize them if you wish to, but they should just fit the screen nicely. With that, Enjoy!
NOTE: Please do not resize within photobucket as that will affect everyone else downloading it. Please use your own programs to resize them
P.S. Can someone please teach me the proper way on how to post images in tile format (rows and columns instead of just a single column) in the forum. I can never seem to figure out how to do it and always get a single LOOONNG column of pictures, and it just looks weird.

There was a discussion about that somewhere under General or Themes and Apps if I'm not mistaken. They are saying if you use the default Wallpaper setup from the phone, any picture will always come out blurry. U need a separate app that will set it nicely. I forgot the names of those apps though sorry.

I've found that using QuickPic is the best way to get crisp full-size wallpaper... just download from the Market and select "QuickPic Wallpaper"

Yup, I just use Quickpic for media browsing. It does everything, even hide and lock certain folders you wish to keep private.
Note: I'm not sure if it's just me, but it seems Photobucket is experiencing issues with their sites and loading the images in the right sizes. Please remember, these images are HUGE, so when you download them and they are not at least 1440x1270, then those are just the previews by photobucket. I am trying to get the links so you can immediately copy/paste it on your browser, but Photobucket is rly borked right now so please be patient.

Photobucket is back up and running normally.

Actual HTC Desire Wallpaper!

Hey! This is my first post here. I have found the actual HTC Desire Wallpaper (Rainbow Bubbles) and i would like to share it with you guys.
It was hidden inside the Desire ROM, but not sure if anyone posted it up before; This is not the LiveWallpaper but its the non-moving one.

Thanks dude! Been looking forward to a real one!
Can anyone give me any insight on how to apply these. Putting them onto my SD card, and then choosing wallpapers > photos > this photo, it and any other pictures i chose this way look grainy, or low-res.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to repackage my launcher.apk with these for them to look flawless and full quality?
well i think because the image was upscaled for the nexus so it is not as sharp
Thanks!
I too am noticing that the quality of the picture isn't the best possible. There are some sort of "waves" that make the background look kinda ugly. I have noticed this with other wallpapers as well. In fact almost every wallpaper from the sd card does this. Most noticeable it is with blurred pictures and pictures with some kind of bubbles like this very wallpaper.
It's great!!!
I've been using it for a while now.
Thanks a bunch!
Do happen to have the simple black background that is not live from the desire by any chance?
For better quality when you apply, go to the market and use Wallpaper Set & Save. Also, I reccomend loading up the wallpaper in photoshop or some half-decent image editor and saving it as a png.
I used your wallpaper, and it is wonderful, thank you very much...

Yeah I just found that app myself. Also if applied with gallery3d instead of the stock samsung gallery it doesn't get pixelated.
Nice wallpaper. Thanks! Been looking for the this. I posted it on my site, PocketCustomize.com.

Yes 'set & save' is awesome, however, changing the file in to another format will not help, if anything you've just created another generation of loss.
Does it bug anyone else that the WVGA version has a blue line on the left edge? really annoying :-/
hi guys, im trying to make the wallpaper seamless, but the connecting images particularly blue and red portion of the wallpaper looks awful, is anyone here good with editing pictures who can help me out?
Wallpaper quality...
To get the best quality on my HD2 screen... I open and edit the wallpaper in Photoshop making the image size 960x800 and changing the DPI from sometimes default 72dpi to 300dpi. Then I go under Filters, then Sharpen, then Unsharp Mask...changing it from anywhere between 75 to 116 depending on the image detail I want to see. Then I use LCD Density downloaded from Market and change the screen density to 200. you have to invest a little bit of time but in the end, and once you get good at it... you can have am image ready in 2 minutes tops. Voila! Not sure if this will work on all screens but I will vouch for it on the HD2.
I love this wallpaper. Using it on my samsung galaxy s. thank you very much.

[WALLS] Official Wallpaper Repository [UPDATED - 11/12/10]

Hello everyone!
I thought i'd start a Wallpaper Repo thread for the Galaxy S community, as i know you'd all like to put that amazing screen to use . Purpose of this thread is that if you have any good wallpapers, or any you have stumbled upon, link them here or upload them, so you can share your findings with the rest of us.
I have a selection of wallpapers that i use, and they look fab on the SGS, in my opinion You need to extract the .rar file and then simply transfer the folder with the wallpapers into your Phone storage or SD Card. Hope you all like them, and hopefully others will post theirs.
To give you an idea of what is included in my pack:

Ok, so next one pack of mine wallpapers
Hi Everyone
The Wallpapers shown on Post 1 are from interfacelift.com.
Here's some more
and some more
Even when I make a new wallpaper exactly 900x800 png @ 72 dpi, why does SGS again crop it?
I downloaded the jpgs from the first post, extracted them on my sdcard, went to long-press screen, wallpapers, & selected quite a few of them, they are all CROPPED by SGS, I the resolution is GONE. Any solution to that?
By the way, here are a few Eye Wallpapers.
P.S> I think you need to update/upgrade the resolutions, for a PNG or a JPG, the resolutions recommended is only 640x480, whereas SGS requires 960x800.
Just a tip I felt like throwing out there...
I use Wallpaper Set And Save from the Market to set wallpapers. And when it comes to finding wallpapers, well 960x800 isn't a widely used resolution for wallpapers but 1280x1024 still is (for desktop wallpapers at least).
1280x1024 wallpapers have a similar enough aspect ratio (1.25 vs 960x800's 1.2) that these can either be resized to 960x800 with little to no distortion, or just directly used in apps that support on the fly resize (Wallpaper Set And Save being one of these).
With this knowledge and Google Image Search's capability to search for specific image resolutions, the sky is the limit for finding interesting walls.
FYI

A tip for creating wallpapers for the 101

edit: Sorry, Seems this only works with Zeam Launcher at the moment
and you need the option checked in preferences/workspace to manage
wallpapers internally.
If you want to create a wallpaper in photoshop for your 101,
so that the whole of your image is shown in landscape mode.
(without using multipicture or similar).
All android phones etc take the width of the screen in pixels when it is in
portrait mode and double it (to allow for the paralax scrolling effect you
get when you flip through your homescreens). The height is just the screen
height in pixels.
So on the 101 this is 1200 pixels (2 x 600 pixels) by 1024 pixels.
However, as the tablets are normally viewed in landscape and not portrait
like a phone, this isnt very good.
For some reason Archos havent accounted for this, that is why, even though
you select the whole (or part) of your chosen wallpaper with the 'crop' tool
when applying a wallpaper, It never shows all of your picture.
I have been playing around with a few tests and have worked out the exact dimensions
in pixels of the portion that is actually shown on your 1200x1024 pixel homescreen.
if you follow the instructions below, you can show all the chosen image on the
homescreen:
1. open your chosen image
2. select the crop tool and set it to a fixed size of 978 x 570 pixels and 72 dpi
3. crop your image
4. choose your background colour with the eyedropper tool (it wont be seen when
applied, I used black though)
5. go to edit, canvas size, and set the reference point to the centre so that it adds
canvas all around the image
6. set the new canvas size to 1200 x 1024 pixels, click ok
7. save the image as a jpg
You will now have your wallpaper. Tranfer it to your archos via usb and apply the wallpaper.
Hope you find that useful
mine looks like this before you apply it.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
but only shows the image when applied.
Nicely done. It'll come in handy.
I assume that the image has a black border above and below when viewed in portrait?
Also, that's a nice background. I think I shall yoink it
your welcome.
yes it does unfortunately, but I hardly ever put mine in portrait when using the homescreens.
Hey, I tried your image, but it didn't work for me. It shows a black bar in landscape along the top.
I notice the the image dimensions are 1023x873. I know it's asking a lot, but would you be able to upload the image as an attachment rather than an image? I don't wanna go editing an already edited image. Photocopy of a photocopy as such. I know I won't be able to crop it perfectly. No Photoshop installed on my work computer.
Thanks!
odd, maybe its because im using zeam launcher, I havent tried it in the stock launcher yet, I'll take a look tonight.
see orkcreation on the appslib or the market
edit: Sorry, Seems this only works with Zeam Launcher at the moment

I'll work on it.
Seems as if you have found one way.... but there is another....
Im using very large images around 2500 x 1400 or so, then resizing them to around 1200 x 650 (somewhere in that area so that the image doesnt stretch).
I also sharpen the image alittle too much to give a better resolution effect.
I then use the multipicturelivewallpaper app to apply the image as the default wallpaper using the "show entire image" option.
Im using adw EX with the wallpaper scrolling OFF.
In landscape it works perfect, vertically is not too bad but obviously you cannot see the left and right farthest sides of the image. There are not black bars to be seen though.. The only time i ever turn the a101 vertical is when reading and ebook...which is never..
There is a theme thread here is your interested. I have also posted over 100 wallpapers pack that you can download. I have already resized them and listed a download link the the mplw.apk.
example....
thanks.
I was trying to find a way that meant not having to use a live wallpaper (which multipicture is) or additional app to get it working, but I really appreciate the link.
by the way, your dropbox link seems to be broken though, I cant get the wallpaper pack.

Check the link(s) in my siggy. I've been adding them for a while. These will be great for showing off that HD screen!

Hi Baldilocks! I really like your works and i have one request: can you please adjust the walls contained in the .rar? They have different resolution and need to be converted to 1440*1280
Thanks in advance

Screenshots? Which are you trying to set? Home screen or Lock screen wallpaper?
Sent from my Galaxy S II
home screen wallpaper. every time i try to set as wallpaper, the crop option appears and i can't choose the whole wallpaper... it's the same with any picture i try to apply as a wallpaper... it's weird, never had this issue with my sgs2 (my previous phone).

I think the GS III uses the stock ICS gallery if I am not mistaken. You CAN choose the entire wallpaper, but it's just tricky. You have to move the box to one side and keep dragging and moving until it fills the whole screen. Def not as easy as the older Samsung way.
Does it start of like this???
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If you take some time you can stretch it out to this -- which will choose the entire picture for the home screen.

wallpaper crop

I know, a real stupid question here... with the large SG3 display, how in the H*#@
can you set a wallpaper without it cropping the damn thing, ANY IDEAS would be seriously helpful.
Grab Wallpaper Wizardrii from the market
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twistedapps.wallpaperwizardrii&hl=en
Select your wallpaper using that app and choose the scale option. That's the only way I've had it work
Also, the picspeed wallpaper app works well. Just need to select the image in your gallery, choose set as wallpaper, and the use the app to crop it or not crop it as you see fit.
You can try multipicture live wallpaper from the market.
It will show the wallpaper full without cropping.
You can also try picspeed and use the option "use original" when setting wallpaper.
Thanks guys, you saved me from getting kicked to the street, it was for the wife's phone I will give both apps a shot.
I use wallbase. I move the picture in want as background, move it to wallbase/saved folder and reboot. Full screen pictures.

Well I tried all of the apps listed above, same result, with scroll enabled, the images do not fit, to large, or cut offs, with the crop option. Hmm, time to use photoshop or something to try and do something. Oh well.

Use quikpic on the market. When you go to change your wallpaper it will prompt you which app you want to use to find your wallpaper, choose quikpic, find the pic you want to use, save, and enjoy your full screen wallpaper

Landscape wallpapers Hd
Works the same. Go into the app click on pics from sd and choose your wallpaper and boom you get the whole shebang.

I've also tried several of these apps and none of them work. The wallpaper always gets cropped and zooms into the center of the picture. I had a couple wallpapers I downloaded from the Zedge app but they won't set fullscreen with the whole pic like I want. Any ideas?
Samsung's stock launcher does not support scrolling wallpapers. you need to use a third party launcher like nova or apex.
You can check out my workshop if you wsnt a custom wallpaper
I was having this same problem. Here is how I fixed it. I did use Wallpaper Wizardrii. But, you have to make sure you have a very high resolution image. If your image is low res, it won't work. I chose the image, then chose "crop scale". It opens with a square over your image. If you want your image to fill the screen top to bottom, keep the aspect ratio of that square when cropping. You can keep the aspect by stretching only from a corner, and not one of the sides. It's okay if you change the aspect ratio a little, but the more you do, the more you will start to see black bars on top and bottom. If you aren't worried about a little space on top and bottom, just choose scale. Depending on the aspect ratio of your image, it may fill the screen just fine. If your image is true HD, then it is 16:9 and it will have bars. But if it's closer to 4:3, just choosing "scale" should work. Just remember if it's really low res, you likely won't see the scrolling effect.
Hope this helps. If it did, hit thanks.

This may be true. I was using Go Launcher.
I'm not worried about scrolling wallpapers. Just trying to get wallpapers to fit on the screen without being enlarged and cropped.
Here's one pic that I tried to set as my homescreen wallpaper.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Here's what it looks like when set:
It cuts off the sides of the picture and enlarges the rest. I want the full picture to show up as my wallpaper.
Here's another example:
