Micro sd problem - Desire General

I've just bought a desire(used) with a used 8gb micro sdhc.
The phone wont read the 8gb sdhc, but it read my ****ty 2gb sd...I thought that the sdhc was broken but my notebook can read it .-.

try partitioning the SD card from your phone because i think it might be a different partition from what your phone accepts (FAT32 for Desire)

Make a fat32 format Gparted CD and everything will be fine!

2gb cards wont regonize

Greetz people!
My problem is that my Herm200 wont regonize 2gb micro sd cards. Ive tried with SanDisk 2gb (not ultraII) and Kingston 2gb card. I use my Kingston 1gb card with no problems and have tried Kingston 512mb card also with no problems.
Ive tried formatting with fat and fat32.
Any ideas?
And im running Schap's 3.57a rom, wich is a great rom by the way. I tried the SanDisk card with other roms too, so i dont think the problem is related to the rom.
Dumb questions first - can a PC card reader access the card? If so, what filesystem is the card formatted in? Can't remember what it needs to be (FAT or FAT32) but if the PC can read it, format it to each until the phone can read it.
Yes card reader can read both of the 2gb card's (i have them both here) and i have tried fat and fat32 systems.
Strange since the Newer ROMs support 4GB cards the only thing I can think of is try playing with the card while its in pushing it agenst the contacts or pop the battery out and push the contacts down a little so it makes the card fit snug. I have no problems and never had with my 2GB scandisk SD card. also search the threads there was lots of reported problems before with SD cards but most of that was fixed with the new ROMs

My arc cannot recognize formatted SD cards, help?

I've tested two sandisk class 4 SD cards.
If I format it to fat32 and partition the space(to use link2SD), my phone refuses to use the SD card and says it's not there. I use minitools for partition and the official SD card maker software for formating. I did everything by the book and tried multiple options(different labels, ntfs, ext2, etc.)
A fresh, unallocated space card works perfectly fine however.
My phone is rooted and unlocked bootloader running softMIUI rom with a modfied power saving blend kernel.
Please help! This is confusing the hell out of me.
Was looking at your post and I decided to grab a few of my MicroSD card 1gb, 2gb, 4gb, 8gb and 16gb....
I formated all of them on windows .... right click format, all default settings... Fat32. These are MicroSD cards that have had information on them... they all run fin on my arc. All different brands.
This leads me to believe that there's possibly either something wrong with the MsD card or the reader on the phone.

Solved it
Did this:
Changed the partition id to this:
"0*06 fat16,greater than 32 mb"
and made the second partition fat32 as well.
Removed the 100mb linux swap file partition I created....not sure if that was necessary.

[Q] Help with EasyUS Partition Master?

I am trying to convert my 64gb micro SDHC card to FAT32 but i really dont wanna mess it up. when i go to format it, it asks for a cluster size, what is that??
Mine came formatted as exFAT and I decided to use it that way. It works in the phone but the recoveries will not read it.
You might try SD Formatter. It is specifically designed to format SD cards and others have reported using it to format 64GB cards.

SD Card Issues

I have been having problems switching from a 4gb sd card to a 32gb sd card in my htc one v. The 4 gig runs perfectly fine in my phone but I need more space so I switched to the 32gb card.
The problem I am having is almost instantly after putting in the 32gb card my phone starts lagging on just about everything. Load times take longer, the phone has more graphical glitches etc. I tried formatting the card to nfts and running paragon software to use that file type. Still no hope. I also partitioned the card to 16gb and free space for the other half and still no luck really. Though I did see some improvement.
Is it just that I got a bad sd card? Note that it works with my laptop and also in my pc perfectly fine, the phone just seems to not like the card or larger file size. Has anyone else gotten a 32gb sd card to work in their htc one v?
Thanks
Derek
Yes my 32 gb transcend class 4 works perfectly,no lags, try formatting it with fat32 with the help of your pc like I told you once before.

I have an ADATA 32gb class 10 card. I will try that
Edit: Ever since I tried partitioning the sd card with MiniTool Partition Wizard the card won't show up on my pc. The software says that it is a (Bad Disk). Note that I can use the card perfectly fine on my macbook pro and the phone also recognizes the card. If I put the card into my phone and connect with USB it works fine.

Reformat a 64gb micro SD Card

Something I've been meaning to ask, simply because it's a wierd occurrence. A few days ago, I got a new 64gb Samsung micro SD card. Naturally, I had to format it into FAT32. I went to format the card using my S III (because it has helped put both my 32gb cards into FAT32). Format successful, and I moved a bunch of backup files from my other card onto it, and hooked it up to my Galaxy Nexus using my Meenova reader. The storage mounted, but it couldn't be accessed. The format of the SD card, I found out, was exFAT, not FAT32. My question is this: why when you use the device to format it does the 64gb card get put to exFAT instead of FAT32? I had to use my laptop to format it I to FAT32, just like the last time I got a 64gb card.

I've always had to use my pc, I think the phone is only set up to format it in exfat because you can transfer larger files than fat32. I may be wrong though.
