Alternative Screencast app? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Like the title says does anyone know of a alternative app to screencast it seems like it is taking them forever to make it work on our Gnex?

Have you tried the built in screenshot taker by hold the volume down and power bottons?

I think he mean the ability to make a video

Yes that ability to make a recording

Screencast
According to the developers, the GNex is at the top of their list for updates. However, you are right that it is taking forever. I too, would like to know if there is anything else out there to use.

wow ... so far nothing on screencast and Galaxy Nexus? This is taking forever!

Disappointed

So, doesn't anyone have any solution?
Being able to control the phone over WiFi / 3G would be a welcomed feature that I miss from the pre-ICS era...

It sucks that it's taking so long. I bought a screencast app that works on my old HTC Desire for when I need to record things, hopefully one comes up soon.

Its September technically the end of the year. And the developers have had the Galaxy Nexus on their "top" priority since last 2011. I wonder what's taking them this long? Is it impossible? Instead of keeping us waiting for a fix why not tell us that it isn't possible.

Yea, it's dead here to S3 4.1.2.
Really no other apps that can do video exist? Thats sad.

I hope FRAPS bring something out for mobile devices. They are good on PC and think they could do good on mobile too

I have a Galaxy Nexus

Hello again Everyone...
You might remember me from when I got a pre-release Galaxy S II and made some (admittedly terrible (sorry)) videos about it and answered as many questions as I could for you.
Well... now I have a Galaxy Nexus (which will definitely be launched on Thursday).
I'm suffering from jetlag and will probably be asleep soon - but I will do my best to answer any and all of your questions (forgive me if this turns out to be tomorrow morning).
Ask away and I'll get back to everyone if there's any interest!
Cheers,
Dom

Sorry to jump on you like this(as everyone else will), but I would really like to know about the sound quality in the phone. If you could just compare it to the S2 or any other phones you having lying around, that would be really great. Thanks a lot

in the UK, US, both???
Do you have the final version?
Please test and tell us about the battery life.
Thanks
I've seen a few comments on these but I would like to know what your opinion the screen brightness/visibility in sunlight, battery life (a more documented response would be great instead of all the vague "heavy use" battery reviews) and camera quality. I'm not hugely dependent on camera but my Droid Incredible really bothers me because the camera is very finicky in quality and performance. I know the GN is supposed to be almost instant picture capture but how does it handle moving objects (for example 90% of my pictures are fast moving pets/animals)?
I'll probably think of more questions later but I am trying to decide what to upgrade too since my D.Inc is probably not going to live much longer (R.I.P to my first Android phone).

Weird. I have hulu plus on my Galaxy Nexus and it even works.
When was the last time you watched something on it?
It was available for the Nexus for a while after release but then it was pulled for some reason. I was under the impression that even if you still had it on your phone it would just tell you your device was not supported.

Sprint galaxy nexus?

Does this phone heat up alot like other sprint phones?
Should i get my eirly upgrade to get galaxy nexus?

Thanks in advance

Yes. Yes. Maybe. And Yes. . It depends on what you want from your phone. If you want a pure Google nexus expirience get the nexus. Also that includes a very active dev community. If you want functionality, top of the line specs, great battery life, and HTC sense, go with the evo lte. Also, expect the evo lte to get updates much slower. Hope this helps

Be prepared to possibly get one with worse, or different problems.
I think I lucked out and got a pretty good one, first buy. But I have heard a lot of people saying it takes their 3rd or 4th phone before they get one that's just right.

It's really not a "defect", per se, it's just what these screens do. If you get a replacement, it's going to have the same problem eventually as well. Just kinda have to accept it for these types of displays.

My thoughts on new update

I just got the new update an hour ago and wanted to share my thoughts because I know there's still a lot of people wondering what it fixes. So far I've noticed:
- Phone in general feels much much quicker.
- gallery no longer lags.
- switching from wifi to 4g o longer lags the phone
- camera is improved. Still slight shutter delay but I'm thinking it must jus be how it works since it's taking such high quality pics.
-updating apps in the play store no longer makes the phone lag.
-one of my favorite things is the home button response speed is really fast now(yes svoice home button is disabled) I noticed the home button used to lag sometimes. Much faster now.
- I noticed some buttons in the camera and gallery are different and have some extras. Haven't had much of a look yet.
-it appears all my apps are on the SD card now.
I can't comment on battery life or anything else yet but I'll keep an eye on it tonight.

Hello, I'm XDA. We clearly haven't met.
Can't ever root again......not if Samsung had the NSA itself encrypting the bootloader.
Also, the locked bootloader is only a requirment to run Samsung's Knox protection sofware, which is only really relevant for business use.
