[Q] P930 on TI OMAP - LG Nitro HD

Is it possible? Can't post to that tread so started new one.
Found this on chinese 'ebay'. How come it's on omap 4440 SoC? Any guesses?

It's Nitro HD,don't be misleaded.

The specs on the Chinese site are way out to lunch. The P930 features Qualcomm processors with Adreno 220 graphics. The Optimus 3D (P920) features a TI OMAP 4430 with PowerVR SGX540 graphics.

What if only for US, Europe and Korea? Maybe for china & india australia & RSA p930 will feature omap4440? possible?

I don't see that being likely at all. I wouldn't jump to conclusions about such things.

I think it's possible, why not? Samsung is known to have different SoC's in the same phone brand (different model numbers), depending on the market and carrier it will be on...Take the Samsung Galaxy Note as a perfect example. There's currently 2 variations of CPUs and likely a 3rd when it finally comes to the US!
I don't see why LG wouldn't do similar. Like maybe an LG Nitro HD (P930A or P930B) for China with that OMAP4440? Who knows. I haven't heard any news about such, but it could happen.

+1 Exactly the only reason i see is that we don't have enough ram due to their bloatware custom skin.
They just want us to buy new phones, developing software for already sold hardware provides them no money... And unlocked bootloaders makes you keep the same phone for more time and they don't make more money with that...
Guys, you're all off topic here. Go chat about that somewhere else. A question has been asked, someone needs a reply
I found another people,
Lenovo Ideapad A1, a tablet that has OMAP3622 (running with Cortex-A8 @1GHz and PowerVR SGX530), and will have official ICS.
Upgraded my signature with this info.

Hi,
do you have a source for this info. I have A1 but can't find any official announcement for ICS on it
Hi dusko_m , here are some news about Lenovo's plans for ideapad:
http://www.91mobiles.com/blog/10962/Lenovo+unveiled+ICS+tablet+via+teaser+video+on+YouTube.html
http://asiabizz.com/9694/lenovo-announces-android-4-0-update-for-tablets-in-india/
http://www.pcworld.com/article/248946/lenovo_to_upgrade_thinkpad_tablet_to_android_40_in_q2.html
Maybe something was misunderstood.
For LG Optimus Black P970:
«These upgrades will be followed by upgrades for the following smartphone models during the third quarter of 2012: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.»
https://www.facebook.com/notes/lg-mobile/ice-cream-sandwich-ics-os-upgrade-schedule/334420639902596
Long time.
This source has some explanation about Lenovo A1:
Update (08 Aug 2012): The explanation from Lenovo (Mark) is this: “The A1-07 model was sold in multiple regions, and shipped with Gingerbread (2.3) while the A1-107 (Type 2228-C1U) model that is shipping with ICS preloaded is sold through Best Buy is a US only model and the OTAs that you are seeing are for that system and not the prior. As there are no present plans to release multiple images, there won’t be an OTA push of ICS for the existing A1-07 models. I know that skillful people are able to load the image for the A1-107 model, and I expect that the ICS source files for the new A1 are in the process of being made available. Perhaps something else may develop in the future, but that is where things stand today….”

[Q] Model differences?

Could someone tell me what the difference between the P880, the E973 and F180 is?
I am trying to buy one of these from taobao and they seem to be lumping all three of these models together...
Thanks!
As far as scarce info on the internet says
LG Optimus G E973 is of
Platform Qualcomm MDM9615/APQ8064
CPU Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait
GPU Adreno 320
RAM 2GB
and is "Also known as LG-F180 for Korean market." (GSMARENA)
LG Optimus 4X HD P880 is of
Platform Nvidia Tegra 3
CPU 1.5 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30 Quad-Core + 500 MHz companion core
GPU ULP GeForce 2
RAM 1GB
Hmmm, so I guess the F180 is the same as the E973....? I am pretty sure that the F series has that goofy pull-out antennae though as seen in some of the YT vids.
Thanks for the help.

Buy G3 with 801 processor or wait for 805?

I was thinking to buy LG G3 32GB with 3 GB ram but now I heard that there is going to be a version with snapdragon 805.
Is it worth to wait? I am placed in front of a dilemma - Please help.
What do you think? Are you going to wait for the new version or not?
There might not even be an 805 variant. If there is, it might not even be for your region.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
This question pops up every time a new device comes out, whether it's a different manufacturer or an updated model.
If there is an 805 model coming soon, by the time it arrives, you'll be wondering about the G4 as that will be in the rumour mill. Next comes the G4 Prime, G5.....
If you want the device, buy it. You can always sell it if you really want the new version If and When.

The issue is that you're sacrificing performance to use that QHD display. To get the performance we're used to in a snapdragon 800/1080p setup, we need the Snapdragon 805 to get the same level of performance with a 2K display
I don't mind using a Korean model. I will wait for the 805 variant. There's supposedly some model numbers that have been leaked that suggest an 805 is coming. But you know how far mobile rumors are, so it could go either way. The 'S5 Prime' came out 2 months after the S5. I can wait 2 more months for the 805 variant of the G3

Well firstly, the Adreno 330 fully supports 2160p, it's being used in some UltraD TV's running at 4K. The Adreno 420 is going to offer improvements, but then so is the 808 and the 810...etc. That's the point, why not wait for the 64bit Snapdragon 810
The Galaxy F/S5 prime is still a rumour. There's still no official announcement, let alone a release date.
You could wait 2 months, but there are no guarantees that it will be available by then, if at all. Maybe you could wait 4 months. By then I could have sold my G3 and be ready to purchase the next big thing.

I didn't know the LTE-A was so much of an upgrade, and in all fairness that's not the rumoured Galaxy F/ Prime, which has different build materials. The LTE-A just looks like a 'rushed out of the door' job so they can say they released a QHD model at the same time as LG

[Q] Which processor really are in Tab S ? (8.4 and 10.5)

According to the info appearing at Samsung, TAB S tablet has an "octa core processor", there is no reference about type or model. or brand.
Info appering at PDADB is:
SM-T705 , SM-T705C, SM-T705M and SM-T705Y: all have Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5420
SM-T805, SM-T805C, SM-T805Y: all have Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5420
SM-T805K, SM-T805L, SM-T805S: all have Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5433
This forum says about TAB S : Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
I live in Colombia, we have here models T705M and T805M.
A local vendor says both models mount an "Adonis Prime+ XMM7160" processor
Can anybody clarify this mess ? are there really different processors for same model ? if so, are there any performance difference between those processors ?
Thanks,
Update:
It seems "Adonis Prime" is an alias for Exynos 5420.
Yeah, It`s a right mess different cpu for different markets and configurations.
Even the Samsung website for my region only gives the cpu speed and quad or octo core, but not a brand or model number, octo is normally exynos and quad is snapdragon at the moment.
Best to check with the supplier before purchasing if you want a certain model of cpu.
Never heard of the "Adonis Prime+ XMM7160" processor" will have to do a search, EDIT: Intel modem soc ??? see link below.
Some Samsung android tablets use Intel atom cpu, but normally the low priced choices.

Practically you will have a 5420 CPU in all but a couple of ones, the 807 AT&T etc ones. So expect the 5420 almost certainly. Watch out your local vendor has genuine stock, exynos with intel mobile chip is what you will get if genuine.
That quote seems wrong a bit wrong with me.

Thanks for your answers.
From the info I got since yesterday, it seems:
1. Exynos 54xx series is called also "Adonis":
One source (there are several similar): http://tech2yantra.blogspot.com/2014/04/are-you-getting-real-galaxy-s5-latest.html
2. XMM7160 is a modem LTE chip (from Intel):
Source: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us...e-communications/mobile-xmm-7160-1-brief.html
With this info, I guess the vendor is really very precise: Adonis Prime + (plus) XMM7160 are really the chips used by a Galaxy Tab S. (CPU + LTE modem).
It could be a little confusing because the name "Adonis" is not quoted normally (I found several quotes to "Adonis" in S5 in sites from Romania, Russia, India, etc)
What do you think about this "interpretation" ?
They do all these study's on what names and words work in different country's, some words that are fine in the west, might be offensive in some country's as they mean different things.
It certainty is confusing, so stop using words and use number, but not 666, 13, 7777 where does it end.

LG K10 "Novo" (Code name: M250S)

So here in Brazil LG has recently (March 2017) released the LG K10 "Novo" (Portuguese for "new"), which is a sort of second-generation K10. Unfortunately I could not find information about it on other markets, though I read a rumor that it would be released in other countries as the "LG K20". It features slightly improved hardware (1.5gh quad core processor, 2gb of RAM, NFC, double download speed, OTG USB), a major exterior redesign (the most noticeable change is that the volume buttons were moved to the side) and comes with Nougat pre-installed, with a very different interface in general.
My question is: is this phone likely to get any attention here on XDA? In case LG doesn't decide to release it in other markets, which would seem unlikely, can we still expect rooting, custom roms and other customization for this phone in the future?

We can't tell anything about rooting, custom roms and stuff until it is released.
I can confidently tell you that the LG K20 is absolutely not the same phone as LG K10 Novo / LG K10 2017.
LG K20 does not appear to have NFC, has a quad core processor instead of an octa core, has a slightly lower mAh value battery, seems not to support USB OTG, is available in 32GB storage version too, and has more minor differences.
(Also it goes by the name LG K20 Plus or LG K20 V).
For the rest I must say the whole releasing logics of LG confuse me a lot with all the new editions, different names around different areas, etc.

Well, to be fair, the phone has been released however it appears not in every region, which is what one would expect. I have no clue if they are still planning to.
