$654.00 - the cheapest? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Looking to get my hands on another Nexus after mine slipped and fell into the ocean last night. Too much liquor I suppose... You guys know anywhere cheaper than here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&me=A1QPS08K9FKKNF

I ordered mine from here but it was $10 more when I bought it. Fast shipping and what I got was a brand new condition unit with all accessories. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever that I can tell.

I don't think you'll find them any cheaper. But if you want it you'd better hurry as there are only 4 left in stock and they sell em fast.

Pay the extra and get from negri or expansys so you have warranty. If you buy from Amazon or newegg you'll only have the return or maybe just exchange period as your warranty.

If you live in the US, you'll currently have zero warranty on the Galaxy Nexus, regardless of where you buy it.

it's weird that the gsm model is still so pricey considering that you can get the lte model off of craigslist under $500 now.

OK, I exaggerated. You get 15 days of warranty where you can exchange the phone. After that, you're left with a likely UK phone in the US trying to get support from Samsung. Ain't happening.

Still try again. Some of us ordered from expansys and negri for a reason. We might have to wait but we have warranty. Cheaper is not always better in this case. Thats why coreyl is laying down awesome customer service in the expansys thread.

Also because of expansys's exceptional customer service i am going to order my car dock from them. They goofed on some orders and coreyl went above and beyond making up for it. Ordering a couple accessories at a premium is the only other way to thank them.

Nope Verizon CDMA handset only. The GSM version would be required for elsewhere

Galaxy Nexus for as Low as $175

What I am going to try to do is pick up the Galaxy Nexus for the advertised Holiday price of $199. Plus, use this Living Social Deal, you get $50 for the price of $25. That gives me a grand total of $175 for the Galaxy Nexus, hard to beat. The Living Social deal is good for 2 more days so if you are interested jump on it.

The great thing about going through VZ here in the US is that if the phone has problems, you can take it back to them for a new one. If in the US, you order from the UK, you get to pay $30 to ship it back, and then wait a month for a replacement.
Oh, and the LTE ! And the 32GB storage......
Well worth a few days of waiting.

Instant replacement is really the only benefit I see.
Then again, I've never broken or had to do any warranty claim on 15+ smartphones (iPhone/BB/WP7/Pre/Android) that I've ever owned in my life.
I'm going with the odds. Besides, most issues are physical damage, which is not a warranty issue.
And once you root, your warranty goes bye-bye. Yes, there is the USB jig trick, etc.

Rooting doesn't automatically void the warranty. On the Nexus One unlocking the boot loader did, but HTC still honored it for hardware issues. On the Nexus S the language changed to MAY void the warranty and the boot loader became able to be locked via fast boot. GN also says "may". http://twitpic.com/7jii6h

G2x - 2.3.7 CM7
Transformer - 3.2 Revolver OC/UV
Well ..... My GN will be here on Tuesday so, it's all good. The unlocked version works on TMO.
Remember you pay more for a contract per month costs than a non contract per month costs. So in the end, it is about the same as just buying it out right.

NEGRI DEAL! $685.50 For GSM Nexus!

NegriElectronics has a deal for this weekend to get the Galaxy Nexus for the lowest price I've seen so far, $685.50! Plus, it's free shipping in the US!
I thought I got a deal by ordering for 704ish from them a while back, but this deal is the lowest ever and is only for this weekend. If you were on the fence, now MIGHT be the time to act for the GSM version.
Coupon Code is: VZSucks
It knocks $45 off the price tag!
Good price and negeri, say what you will about them, are shaping up to be a good reseller.
I'm giving this serious consideration...
I'm really tempted to go through with this. I was at Best Buy yesterday talking to one of the Mobile guys. I'm really starting to think there won't be a GSM version available for retail sale in the US. Someone please talk me out of this! I'll will really hit myself if by the end of this month a GSM version is available in Best Buy less than $550. I wanted the 32GB GSM model but I feel like I've waited too long already.
Should I wait until the ides of December and see what happens or jump in on this Negri deal?

it will not since the phone will be from another country and not incorporated into their system. even then, if they actually would allow it they wouldn't be able to replace it for the same phone.

So I would essentially be screwed if I lost this phone? I am an outdoors man, and somehow lose them.

They charge tax so don't forget to factor that into the equation based on where you are. I got mine from Negri for $705 but after tax it shot up to $764. I was just thankful I saved $35 from a code.
Negri is the way to go... although I've heard mixed stories about the customer service they give but I'd recommend them. I got my phone super quick.

Galaxy Nexus and Assurion (GSM)

Not sure if it has been said, if so forgive me . I noticed a few people on here that already broke/ lost their phones. If your carrier uses Assurion which I believe every carrier does, the Galaxy Nexus IS semi covered just like previous Nexus phones. I have T-Mobile here in the states, as long as you have the full PHP protection on your account you can file a claim with Assurion. What will happen is you will have to purchase a new Nexus yourself but with proof of purchase they will cover the full cost minus deductible. So, the phone is $700, you pay the deductible equivalent (130 on tmous) they cut you a check for the rest so you get 570 back. No warranty coverage is provided obviously .Just thought I'd share for those that didn't know.

Its the same if you were to go and buy a Galaxy S2 for $529 and do a claim with them , just paying the 130 deductible so if you wanted you can do fraud on any device....you only get 2 claims per year.... I'm not 100% if you have to send it back I'll find out tomorrow when I get to work, but I wanna say that yea, you'd have to send it back.

No. Carriers don't insure phones, Asurion does. Now I remember this was the policy with the N1 and the S I believe as well. Just to be clear I personally have not confirmed this myself, but a few trusted sources informed us here at T-Mobile regarding this.

Galaxy Nexus Gsm warranty.

I got it from Amazon today in one day shipping. Just installed my apps and love the phone already. My gs2 needs to go now.
I have two question though.
1. Do they have only one version everywhere? I know the cdma version is a different one, but are all the gsm ones alike?
2. In case I need to get warranty on this, will Samsung be providing it in USA?

You may have extra luck because Amazon is good with customer service. But they probably sourced it from one of the UK importers, so that hurts your chances also. Most people are saying that the imported versions have no explicit warranty in the states.

Nope - you don't pay the UK taxes if you're buying it for immediate export - in other words, if you're getting it shipped directly to somewhere outside the EU...
Also, there is, or will be, a Euro/Asian version of the XL with global LTE frequencies.
